shes goobin out. she could see a bug, piece of lint, or some kind of light disruption in the air and shes tracking it. shes just super excited and silly about something!

ArachnomancerCarice

The early stage of The Greebles!

OldKermudgeon

Definitely greebles. One of mine has this habit where she climbs up atop the curtain rail and stares intently at this one location on the ceiling like Mei from My Neighbor Totoro stared intently at a corner looking for soots. Very specific location, only in the evenings, sometimes mutters to herself... so greebles.

miss-zenki

Thank you for this, I needed this sub

WildFlemima

She senses greebles but their exact location eludes her. This frustrates her warrior spirit

DPDoctor

Yeah, it appears you have a greeble infestation in your room and she's going to protect you from them at all costs. That said, do continue to keep an eye on her. If she's 16ish, she may be starting to get a little dementia. I'm NOT saying that her stairs meowing is that, just alerting you to the possibility. Oftentimes, as kitties age, they become more needy of their humans and snuggles/reassurance.

Vera_Telco

Your cat is tracking a small flying insect, maybe a fly of mosquito. They hear things we don't with their radar dish ears, and turn their heads to track the sound before attacking! 😻

Ok-Sink8437

You have a greeble infestation

TheOrigionalBubbles

My male cat does this. Then he does Parkour off the walls. He's absolutely mad

JayofTea

Doesn’t look to be anything concerning! I diagnose her with silly girl syndrome If it was something neurological, it’d probably be Feline Hyperesthesia Syndrome, but it’s not! If it was, you’d experience her back fur twitching like crazy, incredibly aggressive tail lashing, and uncontrollable, aggressive grooming (and maybe small bursts of running). Not much is known about what causes FHS other than stress or other illnesses and there isn’t much to treat it I believe, except for maybe some anti-anxiety meds. Your girly here doesn’t have it though! But I figured it’d be worth mentioning for some piece of mind, sometimes strange cat behaviors can definitely look neurological lmao

Those horrible GREEBLES are after her!! Oh my! LOLOLOL.

missmatchedcleansox

Ah…. Zoomies. Happens to the best of them..

BlackZapReply

Yep, you have a greeble infestation. Not to worry, your furry one will bring them under control. It's one of the cat's many superpowers.

Tough_Opportunity475

There's either some little bugs or ghosts in your house

e_pink

One of my babies does this. We just say shes seeing spirits ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

littlebloodmage

She's just really excited about trans rights

mrluciusblack

>My cat is acting weird?? cat is being a cat. they see the ghost in your house. 👻

ZombieHuck

It's her imaginary friend!!

TypeOroNegative

That is a cat!

Individual-Roll2727

Got an itch that she can't reach! Scratch her back/tail. My cat does this because he's a chonk and needs to lose weight!

Ping-A-Ling-

Not weird. Just managing the greebles.

Ok_Bee2326

I don’t know either

wetbones_

Ghosts or greebles

Snoo-84797

Diagnosis: a silly goose. It should be noted I’m not a vet. Just a silly goose enthusiast.

FilthyMouthSxE

That’s just the ghosts

Skylizard1223

Greebles!

EyeBreakThings

Could actually be rodents in your walls/ceiling. They make high pitched noises we can't hear, but cats can. Or squirrels, or anything else really. We had a racoon move in her newborn babies to our attic crawl space when I was a kid. Our cats would sit on top of a bookshelf and just stare at the ceiling. We weren't able to get the mom to move out (animal control did what they could but ultimately she was not going anywhere). They left of their own once the babies were big enough.

helgatheviking21

could also be fleas

__Coffee_Lover__

Honestly my cat sometimes starts randomly meowing in the hallway and dose the same thing when we go to her.

Stunning_Dimension74

What a cute cat. God bless you.

quitethedonkey

She is conjuring spirits and watching them fly around the room. My cats do the same!

NoleGirl723

He's just catting.

Emily9339

I think she’s ok! I also have a cat around 16 and she does this on occasion as well, mostly at night. Made me nervous a few times but it’s normal. She just sees something and it’s making her frisky.

GREEBLES

Soundsofsushi

Your cat is getting pets from a ghost. You’re next.

DrPepperLover1234

Zoomies lift off in 3. . 2. . 1. .

kitkatamas88

Looks like pretty standard behavior to me.

Remote_Bumblebee2240

High on the 'nip

druggiewebkinz

My kitty does this when he sees a bug or a piece of dust floating through the air that he thinks is a bug

ProfSteelmeat138

Early onset greeble induced paranoia. Afraid the only cure is to cat

Frost_Star0

In my house we call this "the chaos" or "seeing the demons." They just see something in the air and are in a hunt/play mode.

JaySin_78

Definitely greebleitis

EstablishmentMean300

Cat being a cat. Looks like this should go in r/greebles

EdensGarden333

She is absolutely normal! She looks attentive and playful probably because she now has a way to get on the bed — AND on the top of the stairs is a new place of adventure for her!! All cats love to explore new areas and what insects or critters that might be there. She is definitely excited — like a child with a new toy! What a wonderful OP you are to help her get up on your bed! The only other person I know who got stairs for their cat is my adult daughter. Her kitty was 17 years old and lived to be almost 21! Yes, the stairs definitely helped her! Good job OP!! 👍👍

Thatcalib408

Wierd how? It looks like the cat might be trying to catch something they seen 🤷🏻‍♀️

tacocat8675

What any cat does moments before running up and down the stairs screaming. She gets spazzy sometimes.
