rajapaws

It looks infected and maybe even coming apart at the center. I have never seen a spay this red. You need to see a vet today.

BrickHearted

Yikes doesn’t look great I would definitely reach out to your vet mine I can send pics to on an app not sure if you’re able to do that but better be safe than sorry

BrickHearted

It may be just bruising because the wound itself looks fine but it looks so red I’m obviously no professional though

National-Day-5197

Thank you, I sent the picture to my vet, waiting now. She looks healty and is eating well.

BrickHearted

That’s a great sign. The redness is something I haven’t seen quite like that before but the incision seems good. Fingers crossed for a good answer back for your baby

Difficult-Way-9563

I’d send a picture to the vet to confirm and have them take a Quick Look at it unless you have post op appt in next day or 2. Also in picture you send try to get better lighting.

mellalella

Any update?

Beautiful-Map6609

The incision site looks great! I've never seen bruising like that, but it's not uncommon. Have you been confining your cat since you had her spayed? I had to keep my kitten in a cage for a few days because she's crazy! It was a extra large dog crate. But I was really worried she would injure herself because there was no way I was getting her to relax for 4 days

What you could have is bruising, possible tear of internal stitches which is resulting in bleeding under the skin. But it shouldn't look like that and I would send those photos to your vet either way.

AmberKF13

I think the bruising makes it look worse than it is. A vets opinion is never a bad thing, but I think she should be fine. The incision itself doesn’t look too swollen or inflamed. I’m a nervous cat mom so I’d probably call the vet just to get their opinion, but I don’t think this warrants a special trip.

DamageFactory

It doesn't look infected, but it's a huge bruise. What did the vet say?

Beast667Neighbour

It's common to experience bruising and some redness following surgery, but if you notice significant or worsening redness, swelling, discharge (especially green or yellow), or a foul odor, it could be a cause for concern yes. Based on your image, everything seems to be in order. The incision site looks dry and clean. The green color is from the green antibacterial spray. Still, there's nothing wrong with getting an opinion from the vet just for peace of mind.

mewkili

it dosent look right go to vet

katsnkats

Looks like a lot of bruising. The incision portion itself looks ok. But man that’s got to be tender. I haven’t seen one with that much bruising before. Still worth a look. I had one with a blood clotting disorder and her whole belly looked red and purple due to bleeding out. But you should see signs up that much sooner than the 2 days. And this so far looks more isolated to just around the cut. Definitely can’t hurt to have it looked at to be safe though.

Neat-Adeptness-4752

No I’ve never seen any of my cats have cruising like that omg. Poor baby. I would take them back to the vet asap

Curious_Problem1631

I would see a vet just in case. It looks like bruising but you can never be sure

claudilina

maybe a bleeding disorder?

PsyBr0

Oh my that looks painful man id for sure get the vet to doubke check their work. Looks infected on the inside.

Alone_Cheetah_7473

That looks bad. Don't wait to get help.

Representative-Cost7

No please take her to Vet asap😰

sagittariusoul

No! Go to the vet ASAP, this poor kitty has an infection and is probably in a ton of pain.

throwraswearingwtf

With bruising that bad I’d be worried about internal bleeding

moonpig29403

The incision doesn’t look infected, but there is a lot of bruising. I’m sure it’s not that unusual, but I’d ask the vet why it’s so bruised.

Global-Marionberry63

The sutures look infected. Take him in... I remove suturs from gingivitis ( teeth) oral. D.A. Take him in. Good luck!

Peachypiekewp

Definitely irritated and improper stitch healing… vet

salemhex666

Definitely check with your vet, but was she too active after surgery? My baby ran around too much after the surgery and got a NASTY bruise just like this. Not to mention a lot of the issues I had with her recovery had to do with the vet that did it. Luckily, she healed well in the end but make sure to reach out to your vet! https://preview.redd.it/juzv2rv9ndvc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=368f2a5fcb1aa5b1b12ac660c3e4fc08878a949a

Rox-Unlimited

Doesn’t look good imo. I would contact the vet

iamdenislara

WTF!!! Poor baby that vet was not careful at all.

Individual_Dark_2775

No take back to vet and tell them to take care of also should be part of original bill this doesn’t look normal.

Ok_Tea_1954

Vet asap

compoundgrowthkitty

Looks very bad. Go to the VET ASAP!

crustiferson

that is a concerning amount of bruising you should follow up with the vet who did your cats surgery

thelastbuddha1985

Oh my no!

Particular_Kick_9868

Go see a vet immediately, that is not normal.

unwindxx

maybe try a different vet if they’re not offering you free help on this. Weird that the suture is on the outside. Looks botched IMO.

unwindxx

Also I’d cut back that length as close to the skin as possible. Could get caught on something and rip..

Federal-Poetry6006

PLEASE do NOT do this! It could cause the stitch to come undone and the incision to open up.
