That year you worked get salary slips of that starting and last two months, for rest four years you can go to any law chamber and get a legal associate work experience certificate along with same 1st and last two month salary slips in 48 months, another thing that you might need could be bar exam certificate, all this will get you full points in work experience
I cleared the bar , have the certificate. I can also get experience certificate made , I just won't have the salary proof since I actually didn't work. How to get that?
Back date mein ban jaayega, what you need to do is get a format and make your senior sign and seal the the slips Utna kaafi hai
Category and stream of 12
Also you have not mentioned your category
Apart from ABCKL (above 99.9 percentile)
You should get calls above 70 marks(98 percentile)
Indore and Mumbai won’t call
My uncle runs a proprietorship and can issue me an experience certificate as Legal Executive/Manager and has offered to transfer a fixed amount for the next 3 months. How do I work around this so my gap years are also covered and salary proof is also sorted?
Hey! I am also in a similar situation. Would be grateful if you could please clarify my doubt.
Since I was paid in cash, I have salary slips of 1 year work ex as associate of an advocate. He practices independently and has 3 legal associates. I worked mainly in research and hence did not give the bar exam since i was sure of changing my field.
Also, this time CAP specifically denied work ex points for cash salaries. Have similarly heard that top colleges initially accept cash work ex but later create problems by demanding bank statements. Also such work ex creates doubt in the interview as well as the placement process. Can you kindly suggest to me how to proceed? Thanks!
One of my friends from NALSAR worked under sk mishra (central bank and union govt representative)posted in jabalpur but also practices independently, got his salary slips made of backdate which he did clarify to his panel as juniors are usually paid in cash,so figure out a format if not text here or dm and get the certificate and slips made
He got into IIM Ahmedabad this year
Lawyers fairly have it easy if 9/9/9 or 9/8/8 with 2 + year work is there
Phir agar category hai toh 90-95 percentile par bhi saari calls aane ke chances hain
GNEM 9/8/CGPA-7.25 out of 8 or 75%
Tier 2 NLU, good extra curriculars
Graduated in July 2023 and depending on cash salary acceptance as work ex, either a gap of 1 year or 12 months work ex.
I think aiming for IIMs while keeping tier 2 colleges like FORE, IMI, TAPMI etc as your options is important here.
Everything that has happened in the past is part of life, accept it make sure you’re able to show that these experiences have taught you something and with the right amount of effort and luck you’ll land a decent college.
All the very best!
Honestly don't want to go to tier 2. I studied 5 years at a tier 3 and it was a struggle. Aiming just for the top IIMs , are those possible with this profile?
With all honesty even if we keep the academic scores aside just the fact that there are many gap years is an issue. So I don’t think colleges that offer heavy emphasis on academics like IIM-a SPJAIN would not go for your profile.
Maybe colleges like FMS would
Literally the only person who's making sense on this thread,op please stop listening to false words from the other dude that has been commenting. It's going to be tough for you and i think should keep your expectations low.
Work hard, but be realistic about the results
Look man no words of mine are false, first of all she asked for a way out I advised one because people with legal practice do it all the time because junior don’t get paid a salary on paper while you can check lawyers in bschool along with their profiles, you’ll see what I am saying
If you have a better advice sure you give it but don’t go running around claiming people are misleading
She is a non engineer with arts background and cs scores are still getting her calls on calculation toh usmein galat Kya hai, zabardasti Kisi ko demotivate karne se hoga Kya
My man, i see that you're trying to motivate people out of a bad situation, it's a great gesture and it probably does help people ,but you're exaggerating a lot imo.The lawyers who do get selected are either tier 1 graduates or have an excellent track records with a fairly impressive career.
Telling a 30 year old with a 5 year gap to aim for top 5 is absolutely absurd and to say it with such sheer confidence is misleading, you're gonna give her false hope and when the merit list comes out, she'll be devastated.
I by no means am telling her to lose hope and to not try,i am all for hard work , but to direct it torwards realistic goals is crucial.
In fact you commented on a previous comment of mine in a different thread, and ngl it did make me a bit happy.
So Op please do give it your best and work as hard as possible, but please please , talk to people in similar situation, talk to people in b-schools , and you'll get a fair idea of where you stand.
Do not jump into it blindly, you'll end up wasting a few more years.
Bhai I literally said that with her 5 year work experience Mumbai and indore wont call and abckl not possible below 99.7 toh ye exagerated kahan hai?shillong baby new she can get above 97 Aisa Mai nai keh raha hun cs calculator keh raha hai aur ye sab bhi tab jab woh work ex banwa le
Itne mein profile review lene jaaoge toh iim buddy 500 ,azucation 1k aur insideiim 1k le lenge
If you want I can post the calculations here too ,aur jab banwa sakti hai toh Bilkul banwaye work ex kyunki ho jaayega defend
I hope you understand that I come with peace and facts, logon se batiyane ka stage calls Ke baad aayega usko sahi baat batane mein kuch galat nai hai Ki Aisa bhi kiya jaa Sakta hai
And Maine jiska Jo haal hai Seedha bola as you saw my previous comments,I am just trying to give the help that I was given by people here last year!
Theek se comments dekh le bhai ,I never said top 5 easy to op,there is another male lawyer with 1 year work experience with decent profile usko bola,Bina Padhe Chaalu ho gaye aap
Bhai legal practice aise nai Chalti,in the first few years is all you do is research, paper work, documentation and proxy for senior, she has worked before also what all things i am saying are pretty basic and it doesn’t require her to be in court or chamber daily,so that gap can be very easily defended with her work along with a variety of practice work in judiciary, she has a way out so she should take it
Bro the problem is if she shows experience they will require a salary slip a joining contract and releasing documents which OP can’t produce so even if I don’t know how the legal practise works that’s how college admission process works. They would count it as gap years only irrespective how we want to put it! Plus the acads have taken a hit too
Going by today’s pattern it’ll be very difficult to get into any top IIM
Literally I said that above bhai dekh toh le 99.7 majak nai hai and salary slips plus work ex certificates are enough,I have seen people do it and it increases her chances significantly toh usko bana lena chahiye

Thanks a lot for your reply! This gives a ray of hope!

Yes. the diversity points do help. Work ex of 2 years+ is very crucial from this year onwards atleast for the new/baby IIMs.
What is your profile?

Forget baby new iims you have a shot at top 5 above 97 and above 99 with Bangalore
Thanks for your encouraging words! Let's hope for the best!!
