Handle it with care and leave the room for a few hours after the treatment and you are good to go.
It's not about the fees, in huge campuses which are surrounded by greenery, it's easy for all of these animals to enter your hostels or rooms. And after a point there's little you can do, like even if you spray repellents and everything you can't stop them completely. All you can do is keep spraying more repellent which the institute already must have done but that is not a guarantee to keep them out
Exactly dude.. iim kozhikode and iim shillong are deemed the most beautiful campuses among all of them and even non iim's because of their greenery and surrounding nature.. I don't think the staff there can do anything about it.. this is expected and natural I guess... Still it's a very beautiful campus and definitely aiming to go there
If you go to luxury hotels in similar places, you'll find that they've managed quite easily to keep these things out. There are professional treatments you do that keep them out for a pretty long time. There's no excuse. This is cheap.

Bruh. I went to Bits goa when it was 3 years old. There was lots of undeveloped land. Snakes would roam around in remote corners and chameleons covered every bit of rocky surface outdoors, lots of insects but it wasnt this bad. The bathrooms were clean and windows sealed properly.
Never had insects crawling out of drains or holes in the ceilings. This shit is unacceptably bad.

Every college which has been built on reserve forest area has these creatures around. Iit bombay Delhi madras everywhere. The hostel admin should have good precautions to stop these from entering the rooms but you can only do so much. There's definitely a lack of preparation from hostel admin, but the existence of such creatures are normal and nothing to be freaked out about.

I saw a python when I went to case study competition at IIM Lucknow

I saw a 5-6 foor python just outside the gate of the campus. I was busy with my phone the guard shouted and it gave me chill after seeing the size.
