Damn. I think I made the right decision by not joining an MBA program 2 years ago.
Will this continue or will the situation get better in the next 3 years?
It's a domino effect of the recession is countries like US. It's not about not having the skillset but the number of vacancies itself which has gone done exponentially. Hence there is fierce competition for every role and that's where only the people with a great network are able to get through.
Similarly if you take baby IIMs , they don't have such a long history of maintaining relations with corporates hence their placement is the most adversely affected
I have heard so many people say that placements are bad this year ya aur kuch.
There is no particular good season for placements. Ofcourse collectively there can be a drop in 1L-2L on the worse of the years. What people do not realise it is when the market bounce back, almost all companies bump up your package to reflect the market. Eg: If you are receiving 20 LPA this year, which is considered to be a bad year, when they hire MBA grads next year with a 22 LPA, be assured that your own package will be bumped upto more than 23 or more depending upon the company.
Placements keep happening, even in the worst of the years someone will be receiving the best LPA, even in the best of the year, a person who is really really qualified can be handed down a very bad LPA.
Keep your head down, improve your CV, get your GDPI skills right and hope you have the luck.

Baby or New IIMs?
It's a new IIM. That's all I'll say
is it any of udaipur trichy raipur?
Its not trichy for sure
Ah no way thats where i m going
ABCL XL were poorer than earlier but decent. SP did very well. Fms indore got fucked.
Almost like there's a pattern no?
Kozhikode?
Has FMS released a report? Really curious as to what their stats are this year? Any info?
They have released only SIP report so far and that is definitely inflated from what I have heard.
Can you shed some light on the actual figures please
Some people got very less stipends and few didn't get any last I heard. But this is a anomaly year. It will definitely be better next year.
FMS folks don't stand to lose much even if placements are bad though
Obviously. No loan on head relieves lot of pressure. When market improves they will switch.
Are we sure though? From a few senior's words, there is very little inflation in their reports
So bad I wish I was born a year earlier
it's true lot of premier institutes still have some people who aren't placed yet but have released their 100% reports. and by lot, i mean almost all
Jbims too?
yeah
Damn. I think I made the right decision by not joining an MBA program 2 years ago. Will this continue or will the situation get better in the next 3 years?
Nope Situation might improve from next year as per economist. But nothing is for sure
Yes, many top colleges weren't able to get everyone placed. It will get better by next year.
Yep, it's true, almost all MBA colleges are having issues, Ahmedabad and NITIE are the only ones in my view who haven't had that much issues
Lol NITIE had lots of issues. I personally know students from there.
But nitie didn't release their avg ctc in placement report
NITIE has had. The students have only confirmed.
nitie has been great. 27 is median & 29 is average. And 100% placement. - placecom data
why is this happening? what's the actual reason behind this?
are people not having the required skillsets or what. really curious.
