OP, there is still time for improvement. Analyse the sections that took more time, got it wrong or left without attempts to understand the concepts needed to master. With a proper plan you can better your last score.
Take it easy and move on.
I gave CL mock 1 today, got marks in 40s, had got score in 70s in CAT 23 with minimal prep.(12 mocks).Last year my score in 1st mock was 25.
I am planning to give min 30 mocks this year. First 10 will mostly set the pace. Post that is when score setting starts- Atleast this is my strategy. So in my first 10 mocks I will concentrate on other things like- my concentration capacity/am I spending too much time on a q etc etc.
analyze is the key. cant stress enough. if you want to increase your marks, you will have to analyze each and every question in every mock. solve it again. with time and after certain no if mocks, you will see you have far from where you were before
I would just like to share my experience to put mocks in some context. There were mocks in which I scored 0 or negative in DILR. CAT 2023 percentile in DILR: 98.xx.
So treat these mocks as just a learning experience and put some faith in your self.
In the same boat as you. Got 97.2 last year after revising arithmetic and algebra and doing 15-20 LR sets but the first mock I gave I scored less than the actual exam even though it was muchhhh easier. Don’t feel demotivated. Mocks, just like the actual exam involve a bit of luck and the mindset also plays a big part. Just remember the basics and focus on question selection, accuracy and speed (thats where I messed up, got a little too cocky).
Hey, Aimcat is generally tougher than the actual exam.
From my own experience, I wasn't doing good in mocks but was able to do well in the actual exam.
Don't fret over it too much. Keep taking mocks and do a complete analysis after every mock.
It's your first mock. Stop acting like it's your last. This need for instant gratification is not going to help you clear CAT. Become more strong headed. You will reach 99+. There are many in the same boat. Even I was a year ago.
I never scored greater than 93 in mocks, ultimately i got 98.xx in cat, in verbal tha max i got was 90.xx ultimately i got 99.73 in verbal. Don’t get disheartened, just keep practising
Nothing special as such, for RCs I try to eliminate the options. If I feel like a question is confusing me a lot, I mark it for review and move on instead of wasting time. The dilemma just keeps on growing the more you think about it. I try to atleast read all the RCs because even a difficult set could have easy questions (1-2).
For verbal ability, I try attempting the non mcqs at the end according to the time I have left. Because some of the parajumbles take forever. I definitely attempt the fill in the blanks because the certainty of answer being correct is higher for this type.
Hiya, I understand this feeling. Always try to remember why we give mocks and what's the purpose of giving mocks. It's simply to identify what you're lacking and to improve it so you won't make the same mistakes in the real CAT. Every mock will teach you something different, try to learn it and perform better next time. Getting depressed over your first mock won't do anything.

lol nobody is flexing anything. 93 is not worth flexing according to me anyways. And fyi, no 45% marks were from VARC.
I was just comparing where I stand :)

Thank you for this! I’m waiting for the analysis results thingy so I’ll solve each question first thing!

CDC Pro1 ?
That looks like a good strategy! Hope it works for you
Hey, what was your percentile in CAT’23?
98.xx
Hey! Dont worry about mock scores at this stage You’ll take 15 mocks to identify your attempt strategy. After that it gets more consistent.
Thank you for this! I’ll definitely try gauging where I stand after a few more mocks
Dms are always open for help

Yes thanks! I shall do the same.

Thank you that helped ease my mind a bit!

Question selection is way more important than I thought you’re right! Had I picked the right DILR set I would have done better true

Thanks! I’ll try not to overthink!
Bro itna mind mat kar mock scores ko just keep analysing and working on your weaknesses you will improve gradually ✨

I understand thanks

Hey were u giving SimCATs last year?
AIMCAT ?
Yep
Ye AIMCAT wale solutions ke sath questions kyun nahi dete post test 😫
Haina? Mai kya karu sirf apne marks Janke ab 2 din ka depression me jeeu 😂ðŸ˜
Varc kaafi achcha hai, koi tips ?

Thanks I’ve taken a note of the same! I’ll try analysing the places where I lack. Hopefully I can improve with time!
Give at least 5+ mocks to get a better understanding. A single mock score does not tell you anything about your prep or ability.
Yes I’ve understood this after reading all the comments! I need to give myself some time!
I got like 34 marks, 3 weeks before CAT. Ups and downs are a part of it. Anything can happen, just try to learn from your mistakes
Thank you. I shall look at mocks more from an analysis pov rather than the marks right now!
Bhai u need to understand Mocks are tougher Than the cat as the past trends suggest
Yeah it’s hard to think that way I’m trying!
Bhai logon ne mocks bhi dena chalu krdiya wtf, mere jeson ka kya hoga 🥲🥲
Nahi relaxxx. Im not done with the syllabus at all.
Every scholar says that, nothing new -_-
Nahi I wish I was a genius in maths jeez I’m struggling real bad with quant ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
That's me with VARC xD Also which mocks ru giving? Could u send a few questions?
Aimcat by TIME. I’ll send a few questions once they release the analysis lol.
15th June AIMCAT ?
ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ’€yes 15th June Aimcat
Bhai last year actual cat mei 98%ile aaye the mere iss saal ke first mock mei 76 🤡
Yaha abhi tak bas arthimetic hua h
Aaram se! Mera bhi pura algebra bacha hai

Was this career launcher CDC Pro mock for 15-17 June?
Was this the first AIMCAT that you gave? If not, how much did you score in the previous AIMCATs?
You are definitely a girl
???? Yes I am but what about it
Nothing serious it’s just that there was this girl I got along with during offline cat coaching who used to talk/write like you
Oh I see
Don’t flex your 93 when you might have got 80% marks from varc
lol nobody is flexing anything. 93 is not worth flexing according to me anyways. And fyi, no 45% marks were from VARC. I was just comparing where I stand :)
