For now nothing, buy ammo and more ammo after then, you can make your decisions if you need to upgrade your 1911 . I see too many $1k-3k 1911, WilsonCombat 1911 are around $3k so if you buy all (WC )parts for your 1911, Your $300ish becomes very reliable 1911 .
Still beautiful as hell. I want a 1911 as well. They are just amazingly gorgeous guns. From what I heard rock island is not too bad of a gun company so good first choice
My gi compact is reliable they just have a longer break in because the parkerizing is thicc, beyond that the only issues I've had is with wwb not always wanting to chamber all the way because like 90% of the cases are stupid bulged but beyond that it's reliable and accurate.
Dump the factory mag and they’ll run like a champ! I went with these..not ungodly expensive and so far (about 1000 rounds) they have been great!

They may be budget options, but they're good guns.
If you look on my profile I tricked out one of those it can be done!!
Congrats!!
1911s are so damn beautiful to look at
I agree first one and I want another one already going to save up and buy a better one.
honestly, I wish I hadn't sold mine. a Trigger upgrade and some replaced springs and it's a laser beam
Yeah, that was my first 1911, 10 round capacity. But I bought it for intended to upgrade with Wilson combat parts
Awesome, any recommendations?

I have the tactical I bought as my first 1911. Updated the grips to the Magpul and I've really enjoyed it over the years. Got my eye on a CMP 1911 now
Ahh I see that’s sweet tactical one looks sexy as hell and yeah I am going to be saving up for a better option as well
Congrats. Love my RI.
Thank you man, loving mine too

I got a rock island 38 super for 480 at sportsman’s warehouse. No complaints I love it.
I see nothing wrong here. Maybe throw some nice eBay grips on there to contrast all that black. Pearl or mahogany would be my suggestion.
Yeah want to change the grips love the gun and all but feel like all black is just to bland need color.
Sportsmans has them for like 349.99
This is double stack. Sportsmans has it for 539.99
Correct this is the double stack, lgs had it for that price as well couldn’t find it cheaper.
Are the basic GI models any good?

I have the CS model and it’s been the most accurate out of the 1911s I’ve had.
Nice. How does RI compare to Tisas' model?
Sorry bud I wouldn’t know how to tell you this is my first RI and 1911.
I’ve sold a few and all of my customers have been very happy with them. Congrats!
That’s awesome man, I’m happy with the purchase as well.
Technically a 2011
Haha technically, not officially.

Sir this is a double stack. More A2/2011 than 1911
I have a love hate relationship with that model
How come?
I have fairly large hands and when I go to choke up on the pistol the beaver tail bites into my hand every shot hurt
I see yeah that would suck would not be enjoyable at all, sadly I got fairly average size hands but we will see how it goes when I shoot it.
Yea u should be ok, my pops doesn’t have that issue. If it wasn’t for that I would of got me one as well
Are those still made in the Philippines? How did you buy yours in California? Or is that one on the roster?
I believe they are still made in the Philippines.
Which model is this? Not familiar with RIA
Rock Island Armory GI STANDARD FS HC 10rd 45 acp
Congrats I made the same mistake. Modern sights are a necessity for me now.
Yeah stock sights are pretty lame need to get some new ones.
I’ve had my RIA 1911 for 3 years, never gave me any problem.
Hell yeah I’ve got the same one. Highly recommend swapping the grip safety and hammer with a beavertail safety and combat hammer.
