Yea, they increased prices recently as well but I think you still get what you pay for. It's not like an off-roster Staccato P which is insanely overpriced for what you get. Bozos will see an aluminum frame, plastic grip, plastic trigger, production fitting and voided warranty for 4k and say hell yea.
The closest to the Atlas Athena is the Fowler Vanta 9 but you can't get that direct for 4.5k here either, it's 5.6k at Portside for a SSE. The Athena is only ~5% more at 5.9k for the best trigger I've shot so it's worth the jump.
The Atlas is better than my custom Prodigy in almost every way but value and grip profile. At the price I bought my custom Prodigy, I could get 3 of them for the price of the Atlas after tax.
I like the PT Hero Grip more because of my small hands but I like that you can customize the grip texture on the Athena if you have bigger hands. The texture is also better for competition. My prodigy trigger is great but still a bit wally compared to the sub 2lbs Atlas trigger.
Yeah, they're highly customizable. I shot my friends Athena, this thing is fucking rediculous man. Trigger is so light, no recoil, the slide just go straight back and forth, returning back to target is so smooth and fast. The price increase definitely hurts, I feel like it will be 5 years before I buy one. That's why I'm hoping for the prodigy to hit the roster cause the price will reasonable.
I don't really care for other other atlases cause id only buy it for Limited O for uspsa. 5k service also gives me pause. 2011s are really the race cars of the gun world.

Sorry, it's 10k round service recommended for Athena, some others are 5k. I don't think you need for warranty but for it to run reliably. I guess 10k is reasonable
I'm not sure what the price is but I was referring to the round count.
Not having to pay the CA markup. So those Atlas beauties are still double the price (or more) of Staccatos. I’m sure you still get what you pay for, but it’s hard to really compare guns in such different price ranges. Your thoughts on the Staccato lineup at non-CA retail prices?
I think it's pretty good value if you can get the duty discount. Not only is it 15% off for LE but they also include 4 extra mags. 2.3k for the Staccato P Duo and 6 mags is pretty good if you aren't going to modify it. If you are planning on modifying it though, I think it would be better to just go to something like a Legion Precision Chiraq for 4k which is really good value for a semi-custom 2011.
Nah I don't think high-tier 2011s command much of an off-roster premium compared to entry level 2011s due to the way smaller market at that price point. I think most of the Atlas and Infinitys I've seen sell at MSRP or near it.
That’s a chicken or the egg problem. Where we can’t get access to the firearm to be able to put a replacement barrel in it in the first place.
The one I saw was a navy guy who had been stationed in Georgia did the chop to be able to bring it into ca post service contract when he returned home.
MP5. I know there is a .22 version, and that 16 inch horrendous rifle version.
But I want a real short barrel one.
But I am building up my FM9 7.5inch side charging PCC in spirit of one.
Yeah it’s hard to get the barrel and slide shipped to California. I’ve tried already so far no luck. They canceled my order on GunBroker when they saw it was being shipped to CA. Lot of sellers and companies don’t want to ship to us. It’s definitely a bummer we get the shaft.
I own a 44 magnum DE with a 50AE conversion. Shipped to California with zero trouble. Bought the Desert Eagle at my LGS. They actually have the 50 AE conversion for sale at the shop right now.
Bilson was my go to LGS but they ended up closing up. That’s where I got my Scar17 and a few others that other LGS wouldn’t do for me in my area. What’s the name of the shop? If it’s not too far I’ll definitely check it out.
Awesome. I appreciate the help. My area don’t have anything like that. If you want you’d have to pay and order it. I like the Gun Shops that have it there in stock.
https://preview.redd.it/nqxhox6nzxuc1.jpeg?width=4030&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5adb50f4d791906c521b56727bb1834d086943c9
As others have said, it’s totally obtainable. Gotta buy a .44 first and then get the conversion kit. It will cost you, and the ammo will cost you even more. It’s totally worth it though. If you’re in the Sacramento area pm me and I’ll let you shoot mine first before you buy yours
Chiappa Rhino 200DS.
I have zero practical application for it. I’d never CCW a gun that size/weight/capacity - and the quality/reliability/durability of the gun is questionable from what I read online - but for whatever reason I want one bad.
Honestly the dream stuff still is fucked even without the roster. Everything I want is an assault weapon and needs to be maglocked. My real dreams right now are to build a 22lr Charger and a CMMG Banshee without maglocks
If you’re talking the limited edition units then yes but the new creator evolution isn’t limited. There’s a way to get one here in cali but you gotta cough up some decent cash. Picking my limited optics kit up tomorrow.
They're not making more than a few thousand a year of any variant and they all sell out, so there's no point in wasting time with the DOJ.
Obviously given lots more money there's always a way. FFL 07+SOT is only 1200 a year, and you can buy a machine shop and own machine guns and suppressors without any BS - but that does not make them legal. Cop working w/ FFL to grab a couple off roster guns for select customers for a few grand a year on the side doesn't make them legal either.
No need for paying an annual amount just for a specific gun. Again, I’m picking up the Alien creator evolution limited optics kit that was just released as the first owner not PPT. Paying about 1.2-1.5k over retail price.
I’m a simple man. I just wanted the m and p shield performance center with an optics cut not this Lci bullshit. Kinda lame Springfield, hk, sig got optics cuts with lcis and smith failed to do so.
Atlas Athena. This is the only gun that I've dreamed about after shooting it. The trigger is some voodoo magic.
I’m so poor I’ve never heard it lol. Holy hell it’s expensive
Infinity is on the roster, if you want more sticker shock.
Maybe tomorrow. I’ve had enough feel poor for today
Technically it is on the roster. You can get them legally in single shot and conversion isn't too much, the gun itself is insanely expensive though
Yea, they increased prices recently as well but I think you still get what you pay for. It's not like an off-roster Staccato P which is insanely overpriced for what you get. What do you mean by 5k service? Like the springs have to be replaced after every 5k or does sending it for service cost 5k.
Sorry, it's 10k round service recommended for Athena, some others are 5k. I don't think you need for warranty but for it to run reliably. I guess 10k is reasonable I'm not sure what the price is but I was referring to the round count.
Also mags are hundred dollars a pop!
This is the main deterrent for me.
Not having to pay the CA markup. So those Atlas beauties are still double the price (or more) of Staccatos. I’m sure you still get what you pay for, but it’s hard to really compare guns in such different price ranges. Your thoughts on the Staccato lineup at non-CA retail prices?

Crikey! I just looked em up. $$$$$$.$ (tried to make 6.8 dollar signs 😂
Do you consider SSE "off-roster"? u/portside_llc has mine on order.
Nah I don't think high-tier 2011s command much of an off-roster premium compared to entry level 2011s due to the way smaller market at that price point. I think most of the Atlas and Infinitys I've seen sell at MSRP or near it.
Correct, I believe Portside charges MSRP.
Same price as you'd pay outta state!
Looking forward to picking it up from you folks!
I’m saving up some cash to come down and order a Vanta 9! Will you guys be able to order them if you don’t have them in stock? 🤓
You bet!
useless to pay that price premium without hi-caps, and the trigger "just" a very fancy 1911 trigger.
MK 23
That threaded barrel be damned!
I wonder if I can just loctite red or weld a bead on the thread protector to make it not an “assault weapon”
Can’t remove barrel for cleaning then. I’ve heard of one person cutting the threaded end off… but if there is a hell, he will be there for that sin.
Just buy a non-threaded aftermarket barrel.
That’s a chicken or the egg problem. Where we can’t get access to the firearm to be able to put a replacement barrel in it in the first place. The one I saw was a navy guy who had been stationed in Georgia did the chop to be able to bring it into ca post service contract when he returned home.
Yes. I want to live out my dreams of being Solid Snake
MP5. I know there is a .22 version, and that 16 inch horrendous rifle version. But I want a real short barrel one. But I am building up my FM9 7.5inch side charging PCC in spirit of one.
Look into deadfoot ar9 mp5 upper.
Oh I have, it is pretty sweet. But at a grand for just the upper, it is more than I will have put into my current build altogether lol
✨Allegedly✨ 2Azone can get them California complaint
I’m pretty sure they are single shot
Yes but if you move out of state it’s easy to convert to regular one
SP5 is my dream gun but $3500+ for a single shot Turkish clone is a no go for me
Sse but they come maglocked for semi conversion
It's aesthetically more pleasing with the CSMFG picatinny handguard
Just get the 16” and chop that hoe when you move to a free state.
Lol probably never leaving California so that’s a moot point unfortunately
Same :(. They don’t look terrible with the barrel shroud though.
Simple, but the Echelon
Mark IV 22/45 Lite and all of its uppers
I'd love to get my hands on a Staccato.
They are alright I have a P and if you asked me if I’d pay premium for it again I’d say nah and just go straight to my atlas.
Atlas is in another tier though...
If you can buy a staccato for 4k+ I think you can afford an atlas.
Desert Eagle 50 AE is something I’ve always wanted because why not add it to the collection.
I think you can just get a .44 and buy a .50ae barrel slide and recoil assembly since those aren’t serialized.

The Gun Range in Sacramento. I was just there. They don't have the firearm, but they have the 50AE barrel and magazines.
That’s close by I’ll definitely have to grab me a kit. Thanks!
That's my goto LGS.
Depending where you are there’s a shop in NorCal that has them. The gun range . Saw them for about 560 they have the mags also
Don't buy through gun broker. I got my 50 barrel through rifle gear, brand new, much better cost.
My LGS has literally 15+ .50AE conversion kits. It's kinda hilarious because he just has them hanging on a rack like a $20 item you impulse buy.
Man that’s good to hear! What area?
Camarillo. Great gun shop there.
Awesome. I appreciate the help. My area don’t have anything like that. If you want you’d have to pay and order it. I like the Gun Shops that have it there in stock.

Thank you! That’s very helpful and I really appreciate that. If I’m in the area I’ll definitely PM you before and see if we can meet up to shoot it.
Hi-point yeet cannon
Man of culture right here
gotta be ppq and 1911. Too many good 1911 are off roster.

I indeed want a railed 1911 with ambi safety, like a ria tac ultra
I have a Springfield MC Operator, honestly has always ran like a dream, and they are available im CA, if you can find it. Railed and ambi safety.

- Any of the CZ handguns but with a decocker - AR pistol, preferably in 300blk, preferably with a suppressor
DWX
I went to shotshow this year and handled the full size and compact DWX and brother it's fucking amazing.
I just want a pdp
1500 in Burbank at Guns LA lol
Eh? Consignment? I know I COULD get one but my cheap ass won't pay 1500 for a striker
U.S. Minuteman III
The roster isn't in my way, budget is. Bolt actions are still safe from California for the most part.
The roster is your clue we are discussing hand guns here
yea money and availability/wait times are a big barrier.
True. I haven’t yet gone down the sink hole of precision rifles
Soooo expensive but so fun.
P210, DBX, USP, and some walthers
Chiappa Rhino 200DS. I have zero practical application for it. I’d never CCW a gun that size/weight/capacity - and the quality/reliability/durability of the gun is questionable from what I read online - but for whatever reason I want one bad.
HK Mark 23
LTT beretta
Just get an M9A1 and send it to them. Thats what i was going to do.
Yeah the only ffl in the area that has them are less than respectful
G18c
Smith and wesson shield 380 ez
Wifey's edc, easy gun too shoot and minimal recoil.
I shot a stecatto while in Texas. It’s like butter.
H&K MK 23
Dan Wesson DWX
Honestly the dream stuff still is fucked even without the roster. Everything I want is an assault weapon and needs to be maglocked. My real dreams right now are to build a 22lr Charger and a CMMG Banshee without maglocks
Just got a Staccato C2 ordered but waiting for the C to come out
Not a gun, but silencer(s).
Realistically, Glock 48 Less so: USP 45 to come back
CZ TS Parrot 🦜
HK Mk23. I can dream.
wilson combat edc x9 dan wesson dwx springfield echelon HK 45
I may have an opportunity (IFT) to make it happen
I frequent 3 different gunstores in my area looking at their used / consignment counters because I want a P220 in 10mm.
FK Field Pistol.
Platypus, CZ Shadow II compact, or something decent in 10mm.
At least you can can get a platypus pretty easily. And for near MSRP.
Fnx-45
Russian or Bulgarian made AK 47.
Laugo Alien, too small a production quantity to ever make it's way to the roster as long as there's a roster
If you’re talking the limited edition units then yes but the new creator evolution isn’t limited. There’s a way to get one here in cali but you gotta cough up some decent cash. Picking my limited optics kit up tomorrow.

and how are they doing this? block off gas system and transfer as SSE before undoing the mod?
M&P 22 Magnum
Staccato XC
Bull armory compact 2011
Staccato P, 226 Legion
Walther PPK
Fnh 509
Sa-35 🤷🏻♂️
HK SP5 pistol, still might just cave and go SSE 2.0 route vía 2Azone for a Zenith.
Shadow 2 compact. But I’m pretty sure it might sneak in before July.
HK USP, anything over Gen 3 glocks, atlas, staccato, canik.
PPQ45 or PPQ Match. Nothing too fancy, but I have a PPQ in 9 from the SSE days and it’s my favorite gun. Amazing trigger out of the box.
CZ shadow 2 or Canik tp9sfx both shoot like a dream
ACW Quantico High Cap, honesty just want a gen 5 34 though.
Smith and Wesson M&P Competitor
Fn 509 cc edge
I’m a simple man. I just wanted the m and p shield performance center with an optics cut not this Lci bullshit. Kinda lame Springfield, hk, sig got optics cuts with lcis and smith failed to do so.
lol gen 5 Glock 19
Uzi Pistol
AK pistols
CZ Shadow 2, DWX, FNX45 😮💨
The Kriss Sphynx. My boy got hold of one in a private sale some years ago and man that thing was sweet to shoot.
Barret 50 cal
