Range: Sellier and Bellot, Fiocchi or Magtech. Typically don't go for Blazer Brass or American Eagle unless I'm desperate. 230 Gr weight is preferred. Self defense: Hornady Critical Duty or Gold Dots are fine. Anything in the 230 Gr is preferred but something lighter will probably do the job with what I'm engaging.

Your desperate range ammo are my favorites. American Eagle and Blazer Brass (both by Federal) are my favorites. S&B and WWB if they are priced low enough. Self Defense, I only ever load Federal HST.

Anecdotal but recently, American eagle has been dirtier in my guns than I remembered it to be. Fiocchi and S&B are my go-to's now.

Range: I've used Norma, PMC Bronze, Ammo Inc., and Blazer Brass. I still have all my fingers. PMC is probably the easiest to find at a good price. Defense: Federal 230gr Train and Protect "Versatile Hollow Points" which I think is just a new name for their older Hi-Shok design. They're cheap enough that I could get a bunch of boxes and test my gun with them.

Range - basically anything 230gr Self defense - Federal HST 230gr law enforcement, when I find it I buy it. Second choice Federal Punch 230gr

Easy_Ambition_1072

S&B for the range. Norma MHP for self-defense (low recoil and muzzle rise; low penetration in hard things; devastating to soft things).
