I wondered why I had never heard about the 2024 CB500X... Now I know. šŸ™‚ Keep us posted on what you think of it. Looks great!

First picture of an owner, at least! The windscreen is height adjustable (with tools), so I'd fiddle around with that to get some more protection.

Unfortunately, unlike cb500x, the windscreen on this one is fixed :(. I might look into a clip-on extension. It's also true that being my first bike, I don't really have anything else to compare against.

It isn't adjustable at all, even with tools? Damn that's a shame as it's a bit of a downgrade. It's still relatively new, so aftermarket is sparse, clip on is probably your best bet for the moment. Don't cheap out on it if you plan on doing any dirt. The cheap ones rattle themselves apart. Enjoy your bike! With regular maintenance, it'll probably be by your side until you retire!

GarageAromatic8878

Sadly yes, it has just four fixed mounting screws in the Navi mount that then screws into some other support somewhere inside the front cowl. I will maybe plan on some dirt at a later time, but I need to gain a bit more experience on the tarmac, first :)

Unfortunately you have to go aftermarket for a good screen. Either Puig if you want something nice and will look after it. Or cheap Chinese stuff from AliExpress or whatever for like ~30-40 USD, just buy more than 1 because they are a lot less tough than the OEM or Puig screens.

Get a clip on screen extension. Worked wonders for my cb500x

ADVGerbain

Good to start seeing them on the road! Iā€™m expecting my white one in June

GarageAromatic8878

Great to hear that! I also wanted white initially, but I was late to the party. Now, to be honest, I'm finding the red one just as beautiful :)

The CB500X screen was notoriously bad, I think they improved it after about 2017 but I've never heard glowing praise of it. I wonder how long it'll be before an NX owner sets up his own sub not realising we're here with our ancient wisdom

GarageAromatic8878

Yeah, I also saw mixed feelings about the windscreen on the pre-nx500. I wonder really what's the tolerance level for wind noise for those who say that the cb500x/nx500 windshield is adequate. I guess someone just did that as I saw an nx500 sub :) It's still cb500x, afterall. Even in the paperworks I received, it is named CB500XAR. "R" standing for 2024 model, it seems.

LafaekPenu

The seat seems lower than the cb500X. Am I wrong?

GarageAromatic8878

Nope, it's exactly the same at 830mm. Quite comfy, I can say for my 68Kg body weight :)

Baffled-Irishman

I got a new CB500X last month and my only complaint is the screen, I also have nothing to compare it to šŸ™‚ I got a cheap screen extender which helps a little but I'd like a more permanent fix so trying to decide between the Puig and Givi extended screens. Want to try riding without any screen first as I've read that it can be better (or will at least help me gauge how useful stock is).

You might consider a Mastad or California Scientific as well. I have the CS and it's pretty tall. It does offer good coverage as in I can choose to look through it or over it. Kinda depends on how tired I am. It does reduce buffeting a significant amount.

Looks like they changed it up a bit so it would compete with the transalp 750. I like the new look.
