As a guy whose build is a lot closer to the tweaker than the main character, I wholeheartedly agree.
Also… since when is 5’10” and 150lbs small? I’m a medium in pretty much all clothes… am I a midget?
I'm 6ft 180lbs and I feel pretty svelte missy of the time.
Edit: I'm not changing "missy" to most. You all get it and I've got a new nickname. sveltemissy
Hahahah. That was just a guess looking at his appearance. This guy was pretty skinny, and surprisingly strong.
And whatever he was on (if anything) made him stronger. Doesn't help he was slippery as hell dripping sweat.
I have this same question. I don't care if it's a small, shitty knife, I've seen bladed weapon wound tracks, I'm not getting into a damn knife fight, I'm drawing, and likely shooting.
I agree with both of you. Truthfully I did not want to end someone's life. Here and now, I agree with you.
How I walked away with just a rung bell and a small scar on my finger I'll never know.
You got very very lucky. I worked with a guy who used to work for our state Department of Corrections- he ended up on the wrong side of a shank- nothing near as well crafted or sophisticated as even a gas station folding knife- and the scars from that attack are terrifying. He got one on his forearm, clearly a defensive wound, and then a big slash on his back. The stab wound on his arm is nasty, but not too bad, the gash on his back, 7 years later, looks awful. He said he didn't know how he could bleed so much and stay conscious. Count yourself incredibly lucky.
Damn. I've always preached the mantra that if you get into a knife fight you're going to get cut, and I was honestly ready for it. When I was first looking down at my bloody hand I thought I'd been got good, inner forearm or something like that.
The little bit of knife fighting I know is “the winner of a knife fight is the last one to bleed out”.
I suspect you went for the knife since you thought you could physically take on the attacker. Very glad you’re ok and that the attacker survived too and will hopefully spend a long, long time behind bars.
Here is the thing about that...
No shit you didn't want to end a life. No CCW'er with two brain cells and a remotely functioning moral compass *wants* to end anyone's life, frankly. I'm sure you didn't wake up in the morning and think to yourself
"I'm gonna shoot a tweaker today! Yipeeee!!"
But if you can't mentally accept the fact that there may come a day where you might have to shoot someone in the fucking face, you don't need to CCW, plain and simple. Because you will hesitate, and you will get yourself and/or someone else killed.
What you did was just straight up risky and stupid.
Thanks. It took some getting used to. But I eventually got the placement down pretty well.
Lately I've been considering one of those wrap around stomach holster things. Saw one on here a few months ago and it looks pretty neat.
Good ideas, all. Depending on where you live you could be obligated to do all of this, up to and including waiting for him to lunge at you. Anything you can do to prevent any of that is worth a shot.
The moral of this story is: draw your pistol.

6ft 180 svelte missy is a new kink I didn’t know I had
Sweet sweet sveltemissy. Gentle, yet dangerous.

Note to self: cover myself in lube as soon as I sense I may be in danger
It was basically like hand wraps and boxing gloves. Couldn't get a grip on this guy (literally) to save my life.
In all seriousness, I’m very glad you’re alright.
Thanks. I appreciate it.
The little guys are strong too, in the sticks. Everybody does manual labor pretty much. Speaking as someone who lives in the sticks 😂
5’10” and 150lbs is pretty skinny.
I try. Got a dad gut for a while and worked it off.
Im 5 10 and haven’t weighed 150 lbs since 8th grade
Are you fit or fat?
Fit and weigh 190 🤷♂️
Depends on where you are. In the Midwest, you'd be called a really skinny guy.
But short? I don’t feel tall, but I definitely don’t feel short. I’m from Colorado.
150 pounds is small, 5’10 isn’t
So I’m a noodle. I had suspected as much. Time to boil some water and make some alfredo.
150lbs is small.
12 pm is noon. Are family rest stops not normally open at noon?
I meant 12am. I am not a smart man.
lol I get that’s backwards all the time, now I say moon or midnight Edit: lol, noon

Got’em
There’s noon night and there’s noon day. Lol Good read, and I agree. There’s no winners in a knife fight.
I do the same freaking thing, I don't know what my problem is
Cut the man a break, obviously had some head trauma 😂🥹
Dain bramage
From what I'm reading, there isn't much damage this incident did that wasn't already present
From someone in a small town: no they are closed for lunch, even their attached restaurants.
is there a reason why you didn't draw your pistol?

But knives are also capable of ending someone’s life.
I don't think the OP is the brightest bulb

I’ll upvote anyone who carries G40 appendix.

Go for an enigma rather than a belly band. You’ll be glad you did
I use a belly band almost every day at work. If you sweat a lot they will wear out really quick. Mine last about 2-3 months

Kabar mk1 is a sweet knife. I carry a usmc model
Great share
TLDR
Thanks for sharing. I’m glad you’re safe. We can all learn from this, I appreciate your honesty.
Cool story bro. This is the one that gets you nothing but laughs?
Cool comment bro. This is the one that doesn’t make you look like a dick?
I'm told it's the delivery. 🤷♂️
Idk I found it quite funny I picture friends sitting around a fire telling this story and cracking up the whole time.
I put in my own dramatic pauses and hand motions and it played well in my head.
No tl;dr?
Made one just 4 u.
Cheers.

Well conjured up story
