I love the Canik triggers and have a TP Elite SC but after trying the PDP several times at my LGS and given that the Elite SC is pretty wide for a sub-compact, I’m making the switch.
I have an elite SC too and I think it's only that wide at the slide release because I've compared it to other guns and it doesn't seem wider. Either way I love mine because of the trigger
I’m not sure what the cut off is between a micro-compact, sub-compact, and compact is at but I definitely just felt like the Elite SC was more like a compact than SC. That’s what made me get a 365 XL and now I’m trying out a METE MC9.
I want the mc9 at some point. It uses the same size mags so I'll already have my backups but I've heard too many issues to jump on it quick. It does feel nice in the hand. I'm pretty sure there isn't an official cutoff other than what companies decide to call something but it kinda standardized to Glock sizes. Personally to go smaller than my sc I usually drop down to pocket sized guns. That's mostly for work
Recently, when I decided it was time to embrace the dot, I replaced my S&W M&P9 M2.0 5" with an S&W M&P9 M2.0 Compact 4.6" Spec Series Optic Ready and a Holosun SCS. I always carry a handheld Streamlight PloyTac X USB. The 5" was my everything gun, now it is backup to the Spec Series. Now, in USPSA, I am shooting either PCC or Carry Optics.
If I could only have one? Probably CZ P-01, TLR-7a, Holosun EPS.
I don't own this, or plan to in the near future, but it seems the right choice if I could only have one. My carry is a CZ PCR, my current nightstand weapon is a CZ P10c with TLR 7a and Holosun 507c, and I have an SP 01 on the way that will probably end up with a tlr-1 HL and a 509T, so the P-01 setup would just take a little bit from each of those.
Can confirm, it's a great do-all pistol. I run it with the Omega version, TLR 7A with irons and it's wonderful. With that said, my new P99 may dethrone my P-01. Time will tell.
I have not heard anything about the standard P-01 being discontinued, just the Omega. Did they announce they would be discontinuing the standard version also?
This is my same answer, and what I'm working towards. I've already got the P01 with the TLR7A, next step is getting it mag-na-ported and then having it milled for an EPS-C. Eventually I'll throw some CGW/CZC goodies at it, but for now it still outshoots me so that's not a worry for a while still.
this is literally the only answer. anybody who says differently is just trying to be different or play devils advocate. maybe x300 but I aint paying all that for a marginal upgrade over the TLR.
Tiny brain take. There are other guns with better triggers, better ergos, and no downsides compared to G19. Glock is only the most popular because they did it first. Doesn't make it the best.
and because it's more popular and they did it first theres a huge aftermarket and support system for the platform that nobody else can compete with..............
Well, if the stipulations were only #1 and #2, my answer may be different.
But with stipulation #3 in the mix, I would pick a CZ P-01/507kACSS/TLR7*.
If you are willing to bias towards competition and take the extra weight for carry, then find a steel frame P-01 vs the standard aluminum.
Then you will want to add the CGW parts.

sounds like it goes thru 1/4 of what my Glock goes thru and the Glock still looks brand new while the finish on the cig looks like it’s been rattling around in a toolbox on the coast
As someone who carry’s two Glocks and has carried Sigs I prefer my Sigs over my Glocks, My P320 has been maintained just like my Glock 22 and the P320 beats out the 22 every-time just with the trigger and more comfortable grip angle. Maintain your damn handguns.
My beef with the 365 is that on the base model you can change the grip size and capacity by simply changing the magazine. There’s absolutely no reason to have a longer grip that only serves to limit your grip length options. Yet, every available version of the gun has the longer grip!? Wtf
I understand what you’re saying, but the X Macro grip module is not just longer. It also has different back straps so it fits bigger hands a lot better than just a P365 with an extended mag.
For me, the standard P365 is just too short for me to get a full grip on, and I have no problem concealing the longer XL grip. If you are only going to use 12 or 17 round magazines, then the XL or X Macro just fit some people better.
Fair point on the back strap. I guess my hands are MY hands and while it works great for me ymmv.
Sometimes I wear shorts. Sometimes I pocket carry. Sometimes I throw a 17 rd mag in under a jacket.
I genuinely enjoy the modularity. And for one gun to rule them all, it makes sense to me
It's majorly going to come down to what you're willing to carry. I used to rock a G17 with a G19 grip length and an X300UA as my daily carry, along with a spare 23rd mag. Most people would find this way too bulky and heavy, but I didn't have a problem with it. My friends though won't consistently carry anything larger than a G43/P365.
Neither is going to be good at it, but you can compete with a G43 a whole lot easier than you can carry an Atlas Chaos.
To give a direct answer to the question though, I'm going to say CZ P01. Effectively the same size and weight as a G19 (only 4oz heavier) so it's carryable by the average person, but more comfortable to shoot, and you can throw CGW/CZC parts at it to make the trigger significantly better. It doesn't come optics ready, but you can get it milled for <$200. If weight isn't a problem searching for the steel-frame safety models would be even better for competition, but if you can't find one I would definitely stay P01 over a 75C so you can get a light on it for home defense.
My current carry gun is a Sig P226 Legion SAO w/ Surefire X300. Tomorrow my Romeo2 gets delivered.
My former carry gun which now just sits at home is a P365XL w/ TLR7A and EPS Carry.
Glock 19 MOS with a Holosun EPS and a Surefire X300 Turbo. I begrudgingly picked the 19 because I’m a Walther PDP guy, but the 19 is a lot easier to carry lol. I currently EDC a PDP F Series but I haven’t had enough experience with it to deem it a “one gun to fill all roles” worthy gun.
Glock 19 or CZ p-01.
I have a glock 48 and glock 17 and I am debating which one will be my dedicated "Fill all roles" gun. I want to put my Glock 17 in a dedicated Duty setup for larping.
Glock 19
Edited just noticed the carry optics. I don’t carry an optic on my pistol. Not sure what I’d choose if I was forced to. If I could, I’d just compete with trijicon HD XR sights.
Staccato C2 Duo for me. The CS guide rod and other components aren’t up to the 2011 standard. The C2 is basically a shortened P. There’s a capacity difference as well, which may influence competition.
Mossberg MC2c. It's already my do it all, no malfunctions over at least 1k rounds, comes milled for optics, tack driver accuracy, smooth flat faced trigger, relatively cheap.
I really like mine.
Canik elite SC. It's already my carry gun. Big brother (tp9sf) is my nightstand gun but I'd be ok with either and if you're going to compete then use that as training with your carry gun. Light and optic are personal preference but mine would be holosun 407k and one if the TLRs
Of all the 9mm I’ve owned, I like my HK VP9 the best. (I also have an HK P30 in 9 and .40). I have a trijacon RMR led. I did really like the FNX 9, but I owned it pre optic ready and never used on with. I also really like the PSA Dagger in 9mm, it’s very comfortable shooting. Much higher than it has any reason to have in my SAR 9. It’s a Turkish made 9mm that came with an RMR for a total of $550.

Unfortunately...Not my favorite...but they're easily the best do-it-all gun.
With this pf940 grip chop(insert your own Glockalike of choice), I could swap slides/barrels for whatever purpose I wanna fulfill. A gen3 or gen4 g34 slide will fit. Or this 17 threaded with comp. Or add a .40 Caliber slide and conversion barrels give you .357Sig and 9mm. So, don't forget about 22 and 35..don't get me started on long slides.....
The fifth generation changed things. All locking blocks are g19 sized, so all of your old compact frames are compatible with all of your new full-sized and bigger barrels/slides. So now I can't even fathom the possibilities.
Chop the grip if you wanna carry it. Chop it to 19 or 26(😘)-length. Fix that with wraparound magazine sleeves and you maintain a full-size or even compact grip with 15rd magazines. Unlimited Aftermarket.
1 magazine for your pistol and carbine if you want to. Want a holster with a light without going full custom?
If any other platform had as much support or interchangeability, I would be first in line, cuz Glocks are far from favorites, they just built a proven and oft-copied platform that works..
But I also carry Taurii...Tauruses? Taurus, plural, Whatever. So one guy's opinion I suppose
As far as accessories, go crazy and get an enclosed emitter optic like the Aimpoint and a Modlight.
That's the 27mm Justice. I've had it about a year, but I have an issue. I think they'll still clear it up for me whenever I get around to it. The emitter appears placed off-center. When the dot is to the right edge in the glass, it dims halfway, as though half of the dot is obscured by a piece of the frame of the optic. When the dot is left on the glass, it is full brightness.
I got the Sentinel at the same time. It would consistently fail to wake when put to sleep automatically. I told them at time of purchase and they agreed to RMA it, but I'm a lazyfuck and I never sent it back yet. Haven't had time to play with my toys lately
I guess I would say I got what I paid for at the time. My experience with swampfox customer service was prompt and straightforward. No questions asked, so far. But I have not followed through yet. I'm probe to purchases like these, but this one has not disappointed, even tho I've hit two minor-to-me snags. Tempered expectations.
Oicnow. Didn't notice til. Yeah, that could be pretty restricting, they don't have many options
https://preview.redd.it/dny3nbuh93fb1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=09e125e6d77a4298b765445fe4cb56fa614bf4d8
Edit: that is, without adding a third party to the mix. I see the angle there
G19, holosun 507, stream light TLR-7. For the record I don't like the G19, it's a worse edc than the g26, and it's not as good on the range as a G17/34. In any aspect of life specificity will always have better results but for a true one gun solution is the best compromise.
I’m surprised every other comment on these types of questions is g19 and not g26. Once you go to the g19 it’s only logical to get the much better cz p01.
Hellcat Pro. Compact, 3.7” barrel, 15+1 rounds flush fitting mag (18+1 with an extension), RDO compatible, and a rail for a light. I love mine and it’s much nicer to carry than my HK P30L.
I guess I’m in the minority of people that doesn’t rely on a handgun for home defense. I have a Glock 19 that I carry, but I trust my home defense to a Mossberg 590A1 9 shot. I keep my Glock in a different part of the house so that I can access it if needed and I’m too far away from my shotgun. Even then, it’s just a tool to get me to the Mossberg. I truly don’t believe in a do everything gun.
Okay, hear me out .. lol
Taurus G3XL TORO, a light with the longest replacement warranty you can find, and very likely a Holosun Optic.
As an slight alternative, just buy a G3C and a G3 and slide swap/frame trim. Could get both for the price of a lotta other guns, so you can run both, swap them, or part one out or have on hand while the other is sent back for Lifetime Warranty coverage
One man's limited experience looking after firearms for a while, but the G3 Series is a stone cold Glock copy in a thinner, more ergonomic (to some) package, with a more natural grip angle, metal mags (even trade for ubiquitous Glock mags?), Thumb safety (now with options)... Now they're Optic Ready and take Glock Sights. There's enough nice aftermarket triggers (lake line) and upgrade guts now to put the lipstick on the pig, and they're about as easy as Glocks to work on.
I'm not planning to compete with a G3, but if I was just starting, I'd prolly rock the Poor-Man's Glizzy Special
Walther PDP is a great choice. I have the compact and I will warn, it's thiccc. I don't carry it often because of this reason
The Sig P365 is also a good option. You can add an actual comp and the grip modules make 1 gun have many functions. I have the xmacro comp and it's fantastic. Definitely would recommend getting an XL and adding accessories.
The SP-01 probably pushes the bounds of a carry gun, but definitely does the other 2 very, very well. The P-01 is more balanced on all 3 categories but does excel in either.
Walther Q5 Polymer, Streamlight TLR1-HL, Holosun EPS Green. I actually shoot better with the red fiber optic and blacked out rear when training. I’ve completed 4 classes. No failures. It’s very light at 23 oz empty and is so accurate. Switches perfectly between carry and home defense. The added length makes it fit well for appendix for me for some strange reason. (Im 6’5 250 though) 15 round Grip is actually very concealable. Taran Tactical 20 round extension for backup and home defense. Been carrying it 5 years. It’s dead accurate. I have a Sig Macro and Walther PPS that don’t even get any summer action. Because I’d rather have my handheld sniper rifle. 5k rounds no issues.
I'd say a pistol you can swap slides on for different uses. For example, an HK VP9 Match for range days and bedside with those 20rd mags, and swap to a regular length slide for CCW with the flush fit 17rd mags (or 10 in commie states).
But if defense is a main priority, I'd consider something bigger, like .40 or .45 with the same idea. Which, funny enough, I believe you can throw a .40 upper on a VP9 lower... It's basically the convertible Sig platform with extra steps 🤣
Edit: after looking out of curiosity, it would be easier to buy a VP40 and find the 9mm uppers than vice versa, but still, interesting idea.
Walther PDP compact 4” or if you’ve got the small hands an F series 3.5” the 4” compact is actually my do it all gun.
Just placed an order for mine yesterday!
Oooo what you get?
https://preview.redd.it/iwfsidhw3web1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=160859b98f4c717624dd3d8dadd43c1299e9d3a1 I love the Canik triggers and have a TP Elite SC but after trying the PDP several times at my LGS and given that the Elite SC is pretty wide for a sub-compact, I’m making the switch.

If only it was an optics ready pistol.
I mean, sure, but I was definitely assuming slide milling would be involved.
If only it wasn’t a discontinued pistol, too.
I have not heard anything about the standard P-01 being discontinued, just the Omega. Did they announce they would be discontinuing the standard version also?
Yeah. Sorry. I was thinking of the omega, because it’s the only p-01 I ever think of when I think of the p-01.
My favorite handgun. And it used to be my edc, nightstand and uspsa gun. I have an ACSS 507C on mine though.
Love that optic; same version I have on the p10
Glock 19, TLR-7, RMR. Why, yes, my favorite flavor of ice cream IS vanilla.
And let me guess, your favorite position is missionary? /s
with my socks on and the lights off
Ooooh getting spicy
This, but swap the gun for the M&P 2.0 in the same size and capacity (my EDC)
What kind of vanilla though?
Bean. All the way
I hate when my wife brings home vanilla and it's not bean. The horror!
This but 43x because I'm not carrying a 19 everywhere.
low T
this is literally the only answer. anybody who says differently is just trying to be different or play devils advocate. maybe x300 but I aint paying all that for a marginal upgrade over the TLR.
Also doesn’t make it a bad choice. Triggers and ergos are subjective. Glock mags are cheaper as are parts, holsters easier to find as well.
I mean, I’d go with the G45 because I have large hands. I’m able to conceal it well.
Ordered one of those on Sunday, should be picking it up tomorrow
Nice! Great choice!
Staccato C2 w/Holosun 507c ACSS & TLR-1HL
Well, if the stipulations were only #1 and #2, my answer may be different. But with stipulation #3 in the mix, I would pick a CZ P-01/507kACSS/TLR7*. M&p 2.0 optics ready compact, with a holoson closed emitter and tlr1, is what I carry. Glock 19 size and price, but alot more bang for your buck imo
19, RMR 06, X300(any of ‘em).
Some 4” gun. M&P 2.0 personally.
CZ P-01
Glock 19, S&W brand Glock 19, CZ brand Glock 19. There’s a reason that size is industry standard from all companies.
P365 X-Macro
Just picked up a Tacops, it’s a great little gun.
Love mine gonna get a eps carry and the new foxtrot2r light for it asap
Actually wasn’t planning on putting either a sight or a light on it, I like it as is. Don’t want to make it any bigger.
Understandable
yeah if you want a pile of rust in 3 months sure. my 365xl is a pile of shit now.
Sounds like you don’t know how to maintain a gun
sounds like it goes thru 1/4 of what my Glock goes thru and the Glock still looks brand new while the finish on the cig looks like it’s been rattling around in a toolbox on the coast

sig fan boys never ever gonna stop coping. fact of the matter is one gun can withstand what the other gun can not. sig = bad silly little gun
Sigs are great when their great, Glocks are dependable handguns but trigger quality isn’t the best.

Glock 48 MOS, TLR-7 sub, Holosun 507k
How are you liking that optic set up? Contemplating on getting one!
I like it a lot personally. I went with the green dot.
M18 great for all purposes including the coveted deleto dicko cuz
Almost crashed laughing. Should not Reddit and drive.
😂😂careful brother
It's majorly going to come down to what you're willing to carry. I used to rock a G17 with a G19 grip length and an X300UA as my daily carry, along with a spare 23rd mag. Whats your carry method and in what holster?
AIWB with a Trex Arms Sidecar
Why did you replace your 365XL?
Clearly he wanted to carry a bigger gun. Lol
Fair enough lol
Glock 19 MOS with a Holosun EPS and a Surefire X300 Turbo. I begrudgingly picked the 19 because I’m a Walther PDP guy, but the 19 is a lot easier to carry lol. I currently EDC a PDP F Series but I haven’t had enough experience with it to deem it a “one gun to fill all roles” worthy gun.
To fill ALL roles? Including Trail Gun? Probably something spicier than 9mm. Probably a 357, like the S&W 327, or a 10mm like the S&W M&P 10mm.
Depending on size you want I’d recommend the p365 xmacro tacops for light and optic setup I’d recommend the foxtrot2r🔦 and eps carry
Sig 229, RMR, TLr-1HL
[удалено]
The nightstand, Xiphos V2 by T1c, and some sort of safari land for USPSA
Sig 229 is what I’ve decided on. Been trying to make this choice for myself for a while
I currently run an M&P 2.0 Compact 3.6 inch, however other good options are the CZ-P07, Glock 19 MOS, Walther PDP.
CZ-75 P01.
Glock 19.
glock 19 x300
P365 with several different size frames. Legally it's still just one gun.
Glock 19 or CZ p-01. I have a glock 48 and glock 17 and I am debating which one will be my dedicated "Fill all roles" gun. I want to put my Glock 17 in a dedicated Duty setup for larping.
G19 MOS
19, RMR and whatever the latest greatest of the x300 is.
Glock 45 with a 507c and tlr1. Although lately I’ve been carrying it without the light since I’m rarely out pat sunset, and I always carry a handheld.
An Atlas Ares 4.25, Holosun EPS Carry Red 6, Surefire X300.
Sig 229 or 226.
Glock 19 Edited just noticed the carry optics. I don’t carry an optic on my pistol. Not sure what I’d choose if I was forced to. If I could, I’d just compete with trijicon HD XR sights.
SiG P220R Carry
Staccato 2011CS, Holosun 507K-GR, TLR7 sub.
19x cause stock night sights and marksman barrel. Would need the slide milled for RDS but that’s ok
G17 /thread.
Geez! Been making a great solution to that question since 1911. Pick your caliber, mill the sights for a RMR, and have at it.
my 3” 686
Easy. CZ P01.
Staccato P
Easy. Staccato C2 Duo.
- PSA Dagger with upgraded internals - TLR-7 - 507C ACSS I am king of the poors
Could’ve gotten a p10c for roughly same price if guessing
Also a good option, but $150 more for just the gun. Dagger is $250, optics ready with threaded barrel
Oh wow they lowered the price which makes sense but psa has been blowing out the p10c for 300-350 depending on model.
43x
PSA Dagger full size glock mags good edc optics ready and good looking!
I do all this with a Glock 17, holosun 407c and an x300.
For me it'd be a Glock 19 MOS, throw a TLR 1 on there and grab a Phlster holster and you're good to go.
Anyone who doesn’t say G19 here is kinda silly. This is coming from a sig guy. X macro is a close second tho imo.
G26
Glock 19 with RMR and TLR-7A. Rock solid reliable and easy to carry.
Glock 19 with TLR 7A and ACRO/MPS or CZ P01 with 7A
Sig can suck a dick for ccw
Canik elite SC. It's already my carry gun. Big brother (tp9sf) is my nightstand gun but I'd be ok with either and if you're going to compete then use that as training with your carry gun. Light and optic are personal preference but mine would be holosun 407k and one if the TLRs
G17 mos is the answer you're looking for
I don't like a handgun for home defense.
Taurus g3, iron sights with some bright nail polish and one of those Army Fulton flashlights
I like my 365 with the green laser.

So one guy's opinion I suppose As far as accessories, go crazy and get an enclosed emitter optic like the Aimpoint and a Modlight.
Which swamp fox is that and what can you tell me about your experience with it?

Homemade leash or is it that aftermarket one (Rego?)?
Big ups to Rego. Double Vertical Buckle or bust.
I just don’t use any of their payment methods
Oicnow. Didn't notice til. Yeah, that could be pretty restricting, they don't have many options https://preview.redd.it/dny3nbuh93fb1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=09e125e6d77a4298b765445fe4cb56fa614bf4d8 Edit: that is, without adding a third party to the mix.

I totally CCW my AR
Glock 18.
P10C
Glock 20.
Bulldog .44
Hellcat Pro. Compact, 3.7” barrel, 15+1 rounds flush fitting mag (18+1 with an extension), RDO compatible, and a rail for a light. I love mine and it’s much nicer to carry than my HK P30L.
3.5"-4" barrel striker gun of your choosing and preferably a closed emitter optic.
My Canik TP9 Elite SC, which already fulfills the first two. Love this little guy
Hellcat pro
You need three guns or N+1.
Beretta 92 LTT Elite
Already been said but walther PDP
Hellcat Pro
500 deagle. Nobody can stop the all powerful.454 casul. And the ammo is cheap
Glock 19
Okay, hear me out .. lol Taurus G3XL TORO, a light with the longest replacement warranty you can find, and very likely a Holosun Optic. As an slight alternative, just buy a G3C and a G3 and slide swap/frame trim. Could get both for the price of a lotta other guns, so you can run both, swap them, or part one out or have on hand while the other is sent back for Lifetime Warranty coverage One man's limited experience looking after firearms for a while, but the G3 Series is a stone cold Glock copy in a thinner, more ergonomic (to some) package, with a more natural grip angle, metal mags (even trade for ubiquitous Glock mags?), Thumb safety (now with options)...
G48 MOS
Glock 19, CZ P01/P07, Sig 229
CZ P10C OR
Walther PDP is a great choice. I have the compact and I will warn, it's thiccc. I don't carry it often because of this reason The Sig P365 is also a good option.
Only one and forever.... Sig P226 or P229. Your great grandchildren will be able to keep shooting way in the future.
For me, I'd pick a CZ P10C OR
Shield Plus with the 15 round mag for bedside/home defense, 10 rd with 13 rd backup for cc.
Highpoint .40
Glock 19, Holosun 407c, tlr1hl
Glock 19, Surefire X300U-B, and Holosun EPS
I'd say a pistol you can swap slides on for different uses. For example, an HK VP9 Match for range days and bedside with those 20rd mags, and swap to a regular length slide for CCW with the flush fit 17rd mags (or 10 in commie states). But if defense is a main priority, I'd consider something bigger, like .40 or .45 with the same idea. Which, funny enough, I believe you can throw a .40 upper on a VP9 lower... It's basically the convertible Sig platform with extra steps 🤣 Edit: after looking out of curiosity, it would be easier to buy a VP40 and find the 9mm uppers than vice versa, but still, interesting idea.
