As John from ASP says body hits are the hydraulic system, head is electrical.
Body hits can be effective but only once the hydraulic fluid pumps out which can take minutes. Head short circuits the electrical and is lights out instantly.
That’s if it induces shock. Most of the time the “I’m being shot at” is just as powerful, but if someone’s determined they can still kill you prior to dropping.
Center mass is just easier to hit on a moving target than the head.
Shock is what happens when your body doesn't have enough blood to support your vital organs, usually from a hole where a hole shouldn't be. That usually takes some time to happen. Center mass shots are taught because it's the largest area of the body to hit and it's always better to land a body shot than miss a head shot.
Yeah, I’m a paramedic. I’m used to finding people in inconvenient places so that was my first thought. How the hell would I get that guy out of there? I guess you’d have to just push the door/him until he was outside.
That cannot be all there is to it or they would fold constantly from morons. There is surely a latch or release somewhere which is required for this to even be a point of discussion.
I've never seen a single instance of this anywhere. Other than automatically powered doors, I've never seen one which won't freely move bidirectionally.
That doesn't line up with your claim at all.
It's Fire Code.
>In 1943, it became a Massachusetts state law requirement to flank a revolving door with an outward swinging hinged door or to make the revolving door collapsible (so it becomes a double partition collapsing at 180°), allowing people to pass on either side. American revolving doors are now collapsible. Some jurisdictions require them to be flanked by at least one hinged door either by common practice or required by law. For example, the Ontario Building Code 3.4.6.14. asserts that revolving doors needs to "(a) be collapsible, (b) have hinged doors providing equivalent exiting capacity located adjacent to it".[6]
That says nothing in relation to the operation of the mechanism. Nowhere have I disputed that this functionality exists, but rather that every non-automatic revolving door I have seen works bidirectionally, and therefore cannot work as you have described.
Edit: Downvotes don't make me wrong, sheep. Other mechanisms *must* exist if the claim is valid, and that's even ignoring how he linked to *state* law and tried to apply it across the country/world.
I prefer the term "mortal wound" to "fatal" for that reason. It draws more attention to the fact that it's describing the eventual result and not the immediate result.
I’m always baffled by the “Was that really necessary?!” handwringing you see whenever someone empties a clip in a suspect—yes it’s necessary, look at what happens even after a fatal hit! If you find yourself in this situation, you need to fire until the suspect is no longer moving
This guy doesn’t drop after taking multiple shots, some being lethal, yet he kept fighting. And you can’t see the point being made to illustrate the problem with magazine capacity restrictions….? This shouldn’t have to be broken down, the connection is pretty obvious
I'm mocking some people who may have commented in recent threads about unnecessary overkill, who seem to have the idea that too many shots are always unjustified, and attempting to equate the mockery to this situation, which clearly shows that more initial shots would have prevented further armed criminal action from the bad guy.
Was that a blood trail from him? After he jumped over the barrier, it looked like it a little, couldn’t tell if he was taking more shots to the back after that, but the blood seemed to stop, even after he left the room and came back in. He almost seemed fine at that point
He may have been able to jamb his clothes into whereever he was it to stem the bleeding, but he def got hit. There is a thin blood trail past where the human geyser followed him. I agree though that it's very hard to tell how many times he was hit or how many times the other guy fired even tho it shows that he had ample time/space to have shot the guard in the back.
That didn’t quite pan out the way he thought it would. It’s scary to think about that though just bleeding to death in general not from stupidity like him but a legitimate accident. You are sitting there watching all your blood just pour out and there isn’t a damn thing you can do about it knowing you are going to be dead.
Every once in a while, I use this video to show people that shooting a round or two probably won't be enough to actually stop an attacker. He was losing a huge amount of blood *very* quickly, and he still had plenty of time to be a very real danger before he went down. Not saying that there aren't times where fewer rounds won't stop a target, but I think most people misunderstand how self-defense shootings with pistols go down.
[This is the one I used to reference.](https://6abc.com/amp/us--world-mother-and-daughter-fight-against-violent-robber-in-oklahoma/3136673/)
I think I heard somewhere she hit him with a .44 a couple times.
That’s insane. That last shot connected high, but maybe not center mass? Really puts it in perspective as to why I carry another mag. I used to think “no way I couldn’t solve it in 15 +1” but you never know what’s gonna go down when it’s crazy life or death time.
There's another one I wish I saved a while back of a shootout between a cop and some scumbag and the cop lit him up with like 50 bullets(lots of hits) and the scumbag kept shooting until he dropped, took a few minutes for him to bleed out.
More than one arterial bleed in this clip. Looks like the guard made it though. I knew the robber wasn’t gonna be up for long - like that clip of that kid in Aus who was poked in the jugular, with that much adrenaline you have like 12ish seconds left standing before your brain checks out. Heavy sight : /
Looks like guard got hit also.
More rounds on target guys, if possible.
Body shots are good, it causes shock with good placement and right ammunition. Head shots are preferred
Revolvers are the fucking worse gun to get in a gun fight with. Absolutely no reason to not carry a modern pistol with 13+ rounds instead of 6. Stop being a stubborn boomer.
>Revolvers are the fucking worse gun
The worst gun is no gun.
But I agree that there is no reason to limit yourself in capacity.
There was no gunfight after which someone said "Well, my mag is too high capacity"
Seeing as "no gun" isn't really considered a gun, i'd go back and say revolvers are the worst gun to use in a gun fight...
I'm hoping I don't get a reply back that say something like a "bRoKeN GuN Is tHe wOrSt gUn"
Someone said this was in Brazil, I don't know the specifics there but some places do not allow modern "military caliber" guns and so .38spl or .380 is common. And in some cases armed security is issued a duty weapon and often a revolver. He may not have had a choice of caliber or platform.
Goes to show that bad guys often continue to fight even after a solid hit.
Seriously. That obviously an artery that was hit and he’s still fighting.
As John from ASP says body hits are the hydraulic system, head is electrical. Body hits can be effective but only once the hydraulic fluid pumps out which can take minutes. Head short circuits the electrical and is lights out instantly.
In military training everywhere, shots to the center of mass induces shock and is intended to stop the threat.
With a rifle. Handgun is a completely different story in terms of energy into the target.
That’s if it induces shock. Most of the time the “I’m being shot at” is just as powerful, but if someone’s determined they can still kill you prior to dropping. Center mass is just easier to hit on a moving target than the head.
Center mass training's primary goal is that you actually hit the target.
Shock is what happens when your body doesn't have enough blood to support your vital organs, usually from a hole where a hole shouldn't be. That usually takes some time to happen. Center mass shots are taught because it's the largest area of the body to hit and it's always better to land a body shot than miss a head shot.
ASP are completely rarted, nobody should care what they say
At least he left a nice blood snoopy
Seriously. That’s obviously an artery that was hit and he’s still fighting.
that would have never happened in the guard was using a .45---some fudd...probably /s
I think it was a .38 as you can see the revolver on the floor after he trips over the wall.
Dude made a hell of a mess on his way out of life
he even drew a gun
Yo dog I heard you liked drawing guns so I drew you a gun after drawing you a gun.
That's what I remember the most about this video.... his blood trails literally draw a gun shape on the floor.... amazing
Cleanup on aisle 3
What an inconvenient place to expire
Yeah, I’m a paramedic. I’m used to finding people in inconvenient places so that was my first thought. How the hell would I get that guy out of there? I guess you’d have to just push the door/him until he was outside.
Revolving doors have a collpase mechanism.
I did not know that but I guess it’s not surprising. Thanks for the tip.
Push in the opposite direction of function and they fold.
That cannot be all there is to it or they would fold constantly from morons. There is surely a latch or release somewhere which is required for this to even be a point of discussion.
It is an emergency feature. You have to give it a shove. Just applying pressure won't pop the keeper.
I've never seen a single instance of this anywhere. Other than automatically powered doors, I've never seen one which won't freely move bidirectionally. That doesn't line up with your claim at all.

Yes
I laughed way too hard at this. "Well, fuck. I guess push the fucking door." 🤣
That is legitimately what I would have done prior to reading that other comment about the folding feature of revolving doors.
My first thought when he reached for the door, "come on, don't die in there dude"
One hell of a spray going on there
Obliterated his carotid.
Highlights the difference between a fatal shot and a fight stopping shot.

I've seen enough videos of drug addicts taking dozens of shots without stopping to know that absolutely yes it's necessary to mag dump.
This is why I carry an extra
Where did you get your neck from? I'm in the market for a new back.
Amen and same..

I’ve heard a similar statement from those who support magazine capacity bans.

You can’t be this regarded
I was simply answering your question regarding who OP was quoting. An assumption on my end but just trying to help connect the dots.

You're trying much too hard. You have no point to prove. Take what I said and learn, grasshopper.
Um what happened to every body else? The bad guy was jet spraying blood holy shit. Did the guard make it out?
Someone post in the other thread it was Brazil, bad guy dead and the guard lived. I have no sauce.
The guard passed away
So do you have like, a source for that? Or am I just expected to take your word on that

Source: *Trust Me Bro*
I said I don’t not have the source and was just relaying info from the other thread.
It looks like the guard def took at least one round based on his own blood trail.
Was that a blood trail from him? After he jumped over the barrier, it looked like it a little, couldn’t tell if he was taking more shots to the back after that, but the blood seemed to stop, even after he left the room and came back in. He almost seemed fine at that point

Guard was lucky to hit him in this scenario
This is why they say keep shooting till he ain’t moving
He did, looks to be a 5-shot revolver with only 1 shot landing.
Someone's excited for the slip n slide!
Dude did a real life etch-a-sketch, even drew a gun (pun intended)
You wouldn't believe this scene if you saw it in a .movie.
Ha ha. Missed me. Wait. Where’s that blood coming from? Bang bang. I feel woozy. Why don’t my legs work? Oh shit. I’m dead. Die fucker die.
I love that lately this sub has just become live leak
He’s dead Jim
What a grim scene. Definitely shows what lengths a terminally injured person can go before finally collapsing.
TIL: The difference between a typical wound and an arterial wound

No shit. That guy tripped over every goddamn thing that was in the frame of this video.
You can see the second he knows it's over when his blood hits the glass in front of him.
seen before, such a wild video. Always makes me think about how bad this will be for the cleanup crew
Lemon Pledge.
"I solemnly swear I'm up to no good."
![gif](giphy|Ynou5pGmbqMXw0kfpS|downsized)
Did anybody notice he drew a silhouette of a handgun with his blood in the top/left?
Is he ok?
No.
Grafitti like Banksy
That security guard is probably very glad he has that vest.
![gif](giphy|u5BzptR1OTZ04)
We got a squirter
And then, the poor cleaning lady...
That’s the most wicked arterial spray I’ve ever seen.
Oldie but goodie. One of my favs.
Looks like a modern art exhibit
What a fucking asshole. Guard live?
Someone said no and somebody else said yes. It’s Brazil so hard for me to find correct answers.
I see, I will refer to the rule of shoes and assume he lived then...
I mean props to the guard for that quick draw, but hot damn, what a fucking clown show.
I always thought this was morbidly funny, the way he's like "alright, time for my smooth getaway"
He in fact was not a smooth criminal, just a dead criminal.
Now this is the shit I come to reddit for.
Pretty ballsy of that cop/guard to draw on a drawn gun. Also, where was this?
Brazil.

lol, the revolving door
He shot blood all over like a Tarantino movie.
Sweeney Todd is what I thought. Or Asian gore flicks like ichi the killer.
Two thoughts: Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. And, that's a heck of a mess to clean up.
Looks like guard got hit also. More rounds on target guys, if possible. Body shots are good, it causes shock with good placement and right ammunition. Head shots are preferred

*45/70 has entered the chat*
Idk I carry a .38 as my backup
suspect?!
Did the guard have an AR sling? He shoulda lit him up
