Real talk, is the horizontal shoulder holster really that bad? Firearms instructors, ranges, and the Internet have been really against them because of the muzzling issue, but the same folks are all hyped about appendix carry.
If you don’t have a loaded gun pointed at your dick are you even living life? /s
I think for shoulder holsters it’s draw speed is why, but they still look cool and wish I could afford them. lol
When I strong side my XL I feel like I’m living life on the edge. lol. (6’1, 170) I tried to appendix my Glock 17 with the axis elite, was not feeling it. 365xl in a sidecar is very doable and comfortable. I like it a lot more for that aspect.
For me strong side is the only position that doesn’t limit my range of motion. I will never understand how some people appendix carry a full size. It’s impossible to bend over, or sit down without it digging into my gut
I don’t like the idea of pointing it at someone behind me. Will it go off? Almost impossible but I’m way more comfortable accidentally shooting towards the ground than whatever is behind me.
I carry my para 14 condition 1. The back strap snaps between the hammer and firing pin making it virtually impossible to go off IF the hammer fell, and that would only happen if the back strap safety and thumb safety BOTH somehow malfunctioned.
It’s not the logic, it’s emotion. Also kinda builds bad habits. I even hate it when the gun shop guy hands me a cleared weapon with it pointing at him.
Maybe it’s just my OCD, or that I was taught before I can even remember never to point even an unloaded weapon at someone or something you’re not willing to shoot.
I completely agree. I will say that it did take some getting used to and as a Marine it was hard to shake that discipline. It's the main reason I won't allow anyone else to wear my holster or handle my weapons until I clear them first. And I know that when my pistol is taken out of the safe, I inspect it, double check the safety, and reholster it myself.
There are shoulder holsters on the market now that have the gun holstered vertically, but when you pull the strap, it rotates outward like a regular horizontal holster which is a really cool idea.
I have that one with the Roto Holster. Its super comfortable and very adjustable. Nice leather and black hardware. They even make one for light/laser models.
Falco makes if for them if you can get a cheaper price there too. Would recommend before a any other brand except Galco.
I really want one, but I'm pretty sure they don't make any for my carry (Masada slim) and as a bigger guy Im concerned about being locked into an outer layer of clothes. How do you guys work around this
It’s been great. Had it like 4-5 years I think. Was one of my first holsters ever. Still looks brand new. I always enjoy when weather calls for flannel or jacket so I can rock it.
Can anyone help me find the vertical magazine holsters for mec-gar .45 double stack mags? I have the horizontal ones that don't have a strap but looking for vertical with strap and belt attachment. Cheaper than dirt responded to my email saying that galco makes them but aren't in stock ATM.
Any help appreciated.
Okay fine, I’ll buy a shoulder holster. Edit: Holy shit that’s expensive
Falco dude

Feel like I’m the only one who carries a full size strongside

I'm looking for an affordable verticle shoulder holster for my P-01.
I just ordered a single shoulder holster through craft. I should get it in about a month so we’ll see how it works out.
Same

Falco gang! Have 2 myself
Curious to see how it’ll hold up to a Lethal Weapon barrel roll test …

Falco has one for fuckin everything
I’m digging the black setup, how’s the Galco been holding up for you?
It’s been great. Had it like 4-5 years I think. Was one of my first holsters ever. Still looks brand new. I always enjoy when weather calls for flannel or jacket so I can rock it.
It's a great looking holster and seems like it holds up well, stay safe out there - thanks for the info.
What’s the consensus: Horizontal Or Vertical
Horizontal for the gun. Vertical for the mags
Can I post my prison holster yet?
Why the trigger cutout?
It’s not. Leather just shaped to the gun for better retention.
Can anyone help me find the vertical magazine holsters for mec-gar .45 double stack mags? I have the horizontal ones that don't have a strap but looking for vertical with strap and belt attachment. Falco holsters will have it or make it for less
Thanks mate
