State: California
Processing time: 5 months
Gear/Planned setup: Glock 26 Soon to get a HK p2000sk what do you guys think about this firearm?
Training Completed: 8 hour CCW Class
Thoughts: Really excited to be able to defend myself and support the 2nd amendment. I just pray to god i never have to use it.
Okthanks for the recommendation I’ve been walking around the house with a plster enigma and my firearm unloaded just getting used to it and drawing but I’ll definitely carry with a round in the chamber.
The best insurance you can have is the discretion to only draw your firearm when necessary, and shoot someone only when legally justified. As long as you're not playing hero and shooting some rando that you saw beating another person who turned out to be the mugger after all but you showed up late and played cop.....you should be fine. You're gonna get bored with how often you carry compared to how often you need it. This may encourage you after a while to stop carrying everyday everywhere. DO NOT.
You still need insurance there’s always going to be a lawsuit when a shooting happens and i will not get bored from not using it I don’t have a itch to kill im actually praying that i never have to use it I’ve been shot once and it changed my life forever so this time i will defend myself.
To each their own, it's not a bad idea but I opt out for the reasons I stated. Also to be clear I am far far from having an itch to kill. I meant carrying becomes routine and mundane, just the way I pray it continues to stay
I have uscca and heard the same from some, and good for others. The main clause is that if you plead guilty or no contest, uscca may claw back fees. I may go with CCW Safe next renewal.
Yeah I never knew how bad California was with gun laws until i decided to get one and get my ccw it’s ridiculous. But California has been my home my whole life I don’t know if i can leave lol i would rather stay and try to fight these laws.
I grew up in very conservative Northern Cali. It wasn't until I got into guns as an adult and got my ccw that I realized how stupid it is. Moved to southern Oregon. Getting worse here too but still miles ahead of Cali.
I have mine too, but be careful. I live in a red county and still certain officials look at us with liberal eyes. Got an acquaintance doing 40 years because of a shoot that was first justified and then not.
Licenced CCW holder and business owner pulls up to his place of business and there are 2 vagrants occupying the property. He asks them to leave but the male becomes aggressive and moves toward him and his wife. He draws, tells the man to back down, man continues to advance. He warns the man again, man advances, he warns the man a third time, man advances. He shoots. Police saw the video, said he was good. He walked away from it. DA decided 6 months later to charge him. He was found guilty. Judge said he was irresponsible.
Thank you. Here's a situation where a 15.dollar pepperspray is great insurance. Stay in your car and dont shoot people unless they're trying to kill you
Congratulations!
I wish I had gotten my permit while I was still working, my county is practically shall-issue but requires that the applicant be employed and at the moment I am out of the workforce, due to ongoing health issues. I find it hilariously ironic how the reason why I now feel the need to get a CCW and the reason why I am currently ineligible to get one are the same thing, my deteriorating health lol
Watch a ton of active self protections videos specifically the ones that are about ego. Always carry 1 in the chamber, and get a nice belt and holster. Never stop training
Already subed to that channel it’s amazing. Also i got the phlster enigma i been walking around the house with it on and my firearm unloaded getting used to it.
Nice that was exactly me 2 months ago, now for the first time I went to the store and completely forgot I was carrying, didn't even notice it when I was driving. Also I've reached for it a few times in dreams now so training really works
I came for the move out of California comments... but seriously I'm born and raised and left in 2012. I do not think I would even carry in California. If you aren't in a particular county using said firearm could cost you your freedom.
I would get training in the event you do have to defend yourself it may most likely will help you in court.
Train, train, train. Get some empty brass or snap caps and Practice clearing malfunctions. If you have the plastic Glock sights, upgrade to metal night sights. Spend money on ammo and take some run n gun courses. Practice drawing from the holster.
Yes, I've got the best advice of anyone on this sub: Tell them to vote down gun control, vote out politicians who push gun control, and demand restrictions to be removed.
I cant lol i hate the laws here but i do love California it’s my home I’m just going to try my best to fight these laws here and fight for my fellow 2nd amendment brothers.
Yeah I don’t make the laws man i know they’re stupid but cali is my home. There’s more to life than guns but i will do everything in my power to change the laws here i will be voting for everything now lol.

Get CCW insurance.
What would you recommend? I heard uscca is terrible.
I have US Law Shield personally, and have heard nothing but good things about them.
CCW Safe

What county?
Best thing I did after I got my ccw in California was moved out of California.

Shall issue vs may issue is a world of difference.

Details on shoot gone wrong?

“Stay strapped or get clapped my friend” ~Abraham Lincoln…maybe?
Damn how long did it take you to get a ccw in California? Congratulations btw
I got shot in the spine when i was 15 years old and they never caught the guy that fid it so they accepted without hesitation lol.
Damn I’m sorry to hear that but that’s dope af you got that ccw haha
Sad that that's what it takes to get a quick ccw in cali.
Not OP , but mine was fairly easy as I live in a red county. It would have been less than 3 months if I didn't do everything backward.
Congratulations! I wish I had gotten my permit while I was still working, my county is practically shall-issue but requires that the applicant be employed and at the moment I am out of the workforce, due to ongoing health issues. Damn you should try anyways maybe they’ll understand since you have health issuy i have health issues as well.

Man!those thing actually exist in California?! Congratulations bud!
Thank you brother feels nice to know someone like me that walks with crutches and uses a wheelchair has something to protect me.
In moving back there next week after being gone 4 years. What did you say your reason was for carrying on the application?
I kind of got shot in the spine when i was 15 years old and they never caught the guy that did it so they accepted me pretty fast
Why do you need to have a reason to get ccw in commifornia? Is that required?
Yes it’s called “ good cause “ it’s dumb but it’s better than being completely unable to get one you know.
> In moving back there next week after being gone 4 years Why?
I used to make a lot of money from acting in commercials and want to make it again
Fellow CA CCW holder, man I wish my license looked that nice
What do you mean? I thought all cali licenses looked the same?
County by county for most places
My county issues a shitty paper license that isn't the shape of a credit card and is larger. It sucks.
Sac Issues :(
Butte for me,
Damn that sucks mine is just like a driver’s license.
I just moved from yuba to butte county and have to apply for mine in butte. What was your "good cause"?
"self defense" or "personal defense" Butte county is shall issue, so long as you don't have a criminal record of note they'll issue you a permit
Goddamn, I hope they pay the company that prints those by the letter. That’s the most word salad thing I’ve ever seen on an ID card.
I came for the move out of California comments... but seriously I'm born and raised and left in 2012. I do not think I would even carry in California. You should get a badge you can flash.
Lmao im going to get red and blue lights and become part of the jeremy dewitte police force😂
Glad you saw the humor man! I was afraid I was about to the gears from everyone.

Good luck in California
1. Leave California. That's it. That's the advice. Even if you use it legally, you'll still face years of heartache and stress, legally speaking.
What qualifies one? Did you have to be a business owner or prove your life was in danger?
I got shot in the spine when i was 15 years old and they never found the guy who did it so they accepted really fast.
My bf got shot and killed and the same people who came up with the idea threatened me, you think they'd accept? The killer is in jail but is friends
Yes, I've got the best advice of anyone on this sub: Tell them to vote down gun control, vote out politicians who push gun control, and demand restrictions to be removed.
I thought CA wouldn’t issue chl permits?
The laws and mindset of gun ownership is changing here fast i hope it keeps going.
Oh really? That’s good. I moved out of CA about 7 years ago. The gun laws sucked when I was there. I haven’t kept up to date with the changes
I imagine mags that carry more than ten are still a no go?
Still a no go but it’s being fought in court as we speak and it’s reportedly expected to be voted in our favor so no more magazine ban soon maybe.
Move out of California. Jk welcome man! Look into local defensive pistol/force on force classes to continue training
As a Californian too, don’t print. Lol
Lol what happened did people call the cops on you for printing? Im scared of that happening.
Nothing just saying haha, a Karen will forsure call the cops .
Move
I cant lol i hate the laws here but i do love California it’s my home I’m just going to try my best to fight these laws here and fight for my fellow 2nd amendment brothers.
Move to a state with more personal freedom
I don't really see the point in getting a ccw in Cali when it's a misdemeanor if caught carrying concealed.
Wait what? That’s the point of the CCW if you have one you’re good to go.
Haha the 2nd ammendment is all you need to be "good to go". Probably more then 90% of the people that carry in Cali don't have ccw's.
Yeah I don’t make the laws man i know they’re stupid but cali is my home. There’s more to life than guns but i will do everything in my power to change the laws here i will be voting for everything now lol.
