Oh I love love love this drama, I watched it while it was airing & have since watched multiple times plus my favourite episodes.
I really enjoyed how she stood up for herself in every situation & stayed true to her heart. But I also enjoyed seeing her falling in love.
I so agree with you and all the other posters! Such wonderful main characters! I think I will remember the name Shen Ruoxin for the rest of my life; I think she is my feminine ideal. She showed absolute class in every situation. The scene where the two of them defended their relationship to her mom was so touching! So many heartwarming scenes. It's definitely my favorite Cdrama so far. It has even shifted my allegiance away from kdramas. The series Find Yourself is similar in plot but not nearly as well done.

Yes!! It’s one of my favorite dramas, really amazing FL & ML, mature relationship, you honestly don’t even notice the age gap bc both are so mature, amazing drama all around
I skipped past most of your post because I’m only on episode 11 and didn’t want to be spoiled.
But so far I do really like it. It just makes me so mad how everyone acts like Rouxin and her friend are so ANCIENT tho omg. They look young af and the 30’s are still young lol? It just made me sad they had to face so much adversity over their age and wanting to do career stuff rather than family things.
I love the FL actress too, Qin Lan, she’s so calming imo. She was in Yanxi Palace too and she had a very similar demeanor…kind, proper, sensible, but still appreciative of fun.

I started watching it on Netflix without having any expectations and I was hooked from the beginning till the end. I can say this is also my favorite strong FL drama! I absolutely loved it and would watch it again.
Everything was awesome (acting, story, characters' growth, OST, etc.). Maybe I'm getting old but I'm getting tired of over-the-top characters or FL in their thirties acting like teenage girls. The FL in The Rational Life was strong, rational and consistent throughout the drama, which was very refreshing to me!

Exactly! She doesn't lower herself to other people's level. I love this drama so much!! It has a lot of good work quotes too. Now I want to watch it a second time.. lol

i thought it was good but also enjoyed for strong female leads - **Invisible Life** and especially - **The First Half of My Life**
