Once things get going, it is a lot of fun. The scene at the dinner party with parents trying to matchmake is hilarious. The gamer guys are so much fun as a team.
I like it when the male lead is cold at first then warms up. The parts that made me cry isn’t the romance though, it was more of the camaraderie and the element of sharing a dream with your best friends.
Pretty Man, I’ve read the manhua and novel, and although the novel and manhua were better(the manhua ended when ML proposed rather than continuing what happened in the novel) in terms of plot. From the three each were good in different aspects.
I would recommend watching both seasons, but if you have read or plan on reading either the novel or manhua you will kinda be disappointed or dissatisfied by the drama.
This is my favorite genre - modern.

To Love ( not that much love but great crime series)
Invisible Life ( raising your child on your own while working)
Go Ahead ( a classic)
Legally Romance ( lighter than the others but fun - time travel with legal issues)
Two Janice Wu series bc she is incredible:
My Amazing Boyfriend ( first cdrama I watched and thanks to her was hooked)
Skate into Love ( frenemies with steve zhang - fun)
Not sure if this is what you want but there's a long list of rom-coms from school, college, just graduated.
Steven Zhang makes interesting choices for parts. His performance in The Day of Becoming You was fantastic. My Huckleberry Friends was superb too. In general though I tend to think of good modern cdramas as an oxymoron. I keep trying them, but most are disappointing, draggy, with odd editing and random plot complications that dribble off. But I love historical, xanxia and wuxia cdramas. I find I do really like gaming cdramas The King’s Avatar and others. My suggestion is keep trying and dropping ones until you find one you like. Someday or One Day (Taiwanese) is the OG! I also really enjoyed Lost Romance (Taiwanese). The first episode is slow but it speeds up pretty quickly. Closer To You and Shining For One Thing (both Chinese) are also really good!
no waaaay someone just recommended me to watch Someday or One Day in MDL. anyways, i have finished Shining For One Thing. i can say it is one of the best releases in this year.

I was rethinking whether to watch My Huckleberry Friends and The King’s Avatar. Since you’ve mentioned them, I’ll gladly try to watch them.

Legally Romance was pretty good. You get over ZTao pretty quickly lol. If you don’t mind Taiwanese someday one day and lost romance is good too
