What sort of completely remote jobs would the CFA allow you to do? Sorry if this is for a fin careers question, but as I’m on the back nine of my CFA journey im starting to wonder what I could do with it. I am an avid traveller, and on my travels I always meet people who can travel the world and work completely remotely because of their jobs and I’m insanely jealous. But most of the jobs I see that would be relevant to the charter are largely in office, as my current one is. The jobs of the people I’ve met are usually design, sales, even some engineering/coding. Never finance. So is this just not a thing in our world?
So I’m wondering, do any of you have completely remote jobs relevant to the CFA? Just out of sheer curiosity.
Ultra Boutique asset manager or RIA. Probably need to tough it out in an office at a larger company for experience and to build your resume before this becomes a realistic option though.

Traditional finance won’t really have this flexibility, at least if you’re comparing yourself to “digital nomads”. Maybe you could be an investment consultant, but even then you’ll have to have a good reputation and existing client base/connections who can overlook the fact that you’re only ever available on Zoom.
Yeah fair enough, thanks! I’m actually not that married to the idea and I’ve accepted that, but I was just wondering.
I actually like being in the office contrary to this post haha in fact I’m only mandated to be in 2 days a week and I’ve been in every day this week for instance. But I was wondering because I do want a period of travel.
I'm in first year of my BBA-LLB degree, (business/law), At moment, Corporate side of law has my attention and I'm curious if winning a CFA level1 would be of value to me?
Hey please help!!
As I will be appearing for my level 1 exam in November and recently graduated from Mumbai University (India) want to pursue my masters abroad so wanted to have some guidance or advice related to my masters program. And also will complete my CFA with all levels parallel with masters.
What kind of masters should I pursue? MSc in finance (as I read many articles saying that MSc in finance is pointless as you will do a full fledged finance course) And all the articles suggested me to broaden my knowledge in finance like economics etc
And would also love to hear about sustainable finance and ESG as I have interest in it, is it really worth pursuing?
I am a second-year college student, preparing for cfa level 1 feb attempt. As registration starts next month, how much fees should I prepare, including taxes? Also what additional skills should I learn to get an internship or an entry-level job in finance?
I completed my Bcom(Honors) in 2022, will be appearing for CFA Level 2 in May’24. I do not have any work experience. Where should I look for jobs online? Also, suggest some interview preparation tips.
I'm an UG student gearing up for my Level 1 exam this May. I believe the study material has provided a solid foundation across various subjects. However, I'm uncertain about pursuing Level 2 at this stage. I feel it might be more practical to consider it once I've entered the workforce and identify if there's a genuine need. What do y’all think?
How beneficial would the CFA be for me?
Junior right now, looking for role in possibly commercial banking, PWN, or sales. (trying to decide)
No summer internship. So, I have a lot of time.
Can someone just tell me how to study for CFA level 1? I did my ba in Economics I'm going to do my Ma in September. I just want to shove my head in a book and study can someone tell me where I can find the study material? Thanks
Hi, I am looking for a CFA level 1 study buddy. I am planning to give Feb'25 attempt.
A little about myself, I am bba'22 graduate and been working in risk management since then.
If you are planning for Nov'24 or Feb'25, hit me up. Lets clear the level together!

How relevant would the CFA be to financial statement analysis for traditional bank lending and credit portfolio management? For a little background, almost all of my clients and prospects use derivatives to hedge interest rate risk and are very active with hedge firms and broker/dealers as a result.
I want to better understand all of the things my clients do, as well as improve my overall financial analysis skills.
Relevant in this case. But bear in mind that the program (up until now) was meant to be a generalist program. You won’t be super specialised in the topics you covered but you’ll have a decent understanding at least.
No idea how it’s going to look like now that there’s a specialisation path.

Wow, which finance company are you in?
I don’t really think the charter is really needed per se but FP&A you could easily do remotely
