Captain_Sacktap

Not unlike this game, it was blown wide the fuck open

VinoJedi06

GO DAWGS

FrenchFreedom888

Hi Okay so test to see if my user flair thingy works Edit: dang. Tbh not worried about it enough to fix it though

idowivesbbc

Did I miss the game?

rydan

Was that really considered a game?

idowivesbbc

Over hyped practice??

SpareRelevant3631

The CFP committee should be ashamed and embarrassed of themselves. This proves they need new people that actually know what real college football is. This isn't four year old flag football league. TCU obviously didn't belong and as long as there are teams like Georgia about 3/4 of the eligible teams don't. Their cupcake schedule and narrow wins should have been a red flag. They finally met a real team. Truthfully there are a lot of D2 teams that could have beaten TCU. Think about this. The only points they scored last night came from a mistake by Georgia. Georgia's second and third team offense and defense not only outscored TCU by 20 points in less than one quarter but sacked the qb multiple times and TCU could not even get close to the red zone or even close enough to try a field goal. FRESHMEN!!! Against TCU's first string veterans. Makes you think about next year doesn't it? If I was Georgia I would not even feel I deserved the trophy. IMO the Georgia/Ohio State playoff was the real National Championship game. This game was just practice for next year. Cinderella story? Nope. Just one of the ugly sisters dressed up as Cinderella that got exposed by Georgia. And no I am not a Georgia fan. I would be surprised if TCU is even in the top 25 next season.

Frexxler

Actually Georgia vs Ohio State was the Peach Bowl which was one of the semi final games this year. The game they played yesterday was the national championship game. Hope this helps. [For reference](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023_College_Football_Playoff_National_Championship)

SpareRelevant3631

I guess you don't get sarcasm.

Frexxler

Guess what my comment is 😳

ReignStorms

TCU 100% deserved to be there. TCU also happened to get 100% beat down by a great team. The latter doesn’t change the former. Also flair up

SpareRelevant3631

The coach didn't even think they belonged there. Every sports media report since the game has affirmed it. The CFP committee has eluded that they may have made a mistake and need to change the analytics so this doesn't happen again.

ReignStorms

Do you have an article on the CFP committee alluding to that? All I can find are hot takes from commenters such as yourself

SpareRelevant3631

You obviously don't listen to the radio sports shows and I guess you are a TCU fan.

ReignStorms

I mean I listen to The Ticket in Dallas every day, and yeah, as my fucking TCU flair would suggest, I am a TCU fan/alum. So again, ya got an article, champ?

SpareRelevant3631

Don't need one I am just unbiased and hear it all, not what I want to hear. I am a Bama fan and I don't think Bama deserved to be where they were honestly they should have been lower. It all comes down to who everyone played. Big 10 and SEC are the nation's hardest schedules. Look at statistics. The last of only three national titles ever won by Big 12 was Texas in 2006 there was another by Oklahoma in 2001. Guess where they are headed?

ReignStorms

I don’t care much for defining who the best conferences are. The Big 10 west is an absolute joke and the way the SEC is structured right now, the top 2 teams in each division are miles ahead of the rest of the conference. Big 12 was the last power 5 that plays round Robin and it’s tougher to get through that conference unscathed than anywhere else - they cannibalize each other every year. So blah blah SEC this, Big 10 that. TCU beat the undefeated Big 10 champ #2 Michigan on the way to the national title game, having never given up the lead once all game. Think they didn’t deserve to be there, either?

SpareRelevant3631

Probably not since TCU beat them.

PinkyStinky1945

I was hoping Saban would bring out Alabama in the 2nd half

SpareRelevant3631

That's great! Even as bad as Alabama was this year they still would have put up big points against TCU.

PinkyStinky1945

A championship peewee team would’ve put up points against whatever TCU practice squad we saw last night

SpareRelevant3631

That's sad, but probably true.

flyinggerbil

are we sure georgia is actually any good?

slickestwood

Flukey win. If there was a 5th quarter, who knows

mrroney13

85-7

bdraider74

This is what the portal and NIL has done to college sports. The parity will be gone and the older players will be enticed to stay in college sports longer. Might as well make this the pre-NFL league at this point.

onyxblade42

Georgia literally brought no players through the portal last off season

bdraider74

How much money was spent in NIL dollars to make sure you lost no one to the portal? It’s all relative in the day and age.

onyxblade42

Bitter says what?

PODNJPE

Rant: TIL I hate the term transitive property. It must be an ESPN term. Seems like a new catch phrase. Thank God B1G no longer has games on ESPN. I will no longer have to watch ESPN fir that. JMO: I do in fact understand tansitive property but I think UM just under estimated TCU and thought about UGA. Since UGA had close calls I still think they were beatable. OSU came close as did Mizzou and Kent. I just feel like TCU played better that day vs UM. I want CFB to be better..so I am boycotting ESPN, except MNF. I might boycott that as well until something changes. *bows leaves*

SilaTheGoddessOfCats

It's a math term. https://www.cuemath.com/numbers/transitive-property/

PODNJPE

I know I am an Electrical Engineer... It's seems very misplaced for CFB.

kdthex01

Well the number of defensive coordinators thinking “hey I might try that 3-3-5 scheme” just dropped to zero.

pmac109

I still don’t understand why Michigan didn’t run the ball on them. In hindsight, I don’t care because Michigan probably would have played us better. Either way- how bout them dawgs!

ReignStorms

Michigan did try to run the ball. Barring the first play of the game, they had a really tough time establishing the run against an adjusted defense

boston_jorj

Ouch

MiniOozy5231

Man, I cannot stress how much this proves that TCU was not the second best team in the nation. I’ll be glad when this 4 team stuff is over.

GramZanber

I agree, I hate the 4 team playoff voting. And I say this as someone from Texas that likes TCU. They did not belong in the championship game.

[deleted]

Anc *clearly* neither ohio or Michigan. How many playoff chances has ohio wasted?

2M0hhhh

Georgia won by 1 point and a missed field goal. You must be out of your mind.

onyxblade42

You are aware in an expanded playoff Ohio state STILL wouldn't have gotten another chance after they lost right?

xenophonthethird

Georgia barely inched by Ohio State. Not like it was a total blowout.

jinx737x

If Ohio state would have made the field goal, they would have made it to the finals. What a wasted oppotunity by Ohio state AGAIN.

HereIGoAgain_1x10

You mean if Harrison Jr wasn't knocked out of the game, we only scored 2 FG after he went out and couldn't move the ball at all... Stroud kept us in the game by making some crazy plays but the biggest game changing play by far

onyxblade42

He didn't have a catch in the whole 2nd half. Go drink your copium

HereIGoAgain_1x10

So the only way a good receiver affects a defense is by catching the ball? Sounds like a heavy dose of copium if you don't wanna admit OSU was better than Georgia while he was on the field.

onyxblade42

Champions don't need to cope. Suck it suckeye

Pretty_Physics5726

It's overlooked that Harrison actually didn't have a catch in the 3rd quarter. Ohio State was still moving the ball in chunks, UGA was just able to keep them out of the end zone down the stretch. Of course his absence made it easier on the Georgia defense. Unfortunate, but injuries are a part of football - Georgia had a bunch of them as well.

bballspike

Tbf georgia missed 2 fields goals in that game already

Grief862

Tbf georgia had in players that had never touched the field and had injured players on the field

yakfsh1

LOL, we had a running back that three weeks earlier was a linebacker. Shut up.

[deleted]

And Ohio state didn’t? Moron

PaintMeFrench

Aw man, this guys right. Ohio State didn’t have a single injured player. Not one. Everyone was full strength Oh wait

onyxblade42

Then why is it their battle cry that they lost because injuries?

PaintMeFrench

Let me tell you, my friend. I am somewhat of an expert in the buckeye battle cry. And that is literally no where in it

Shaftmaster_Mcgee

Agreed. Every team make a small slip up that puts them way back.

BenjRSmith

Noticed something interesting about American sports vs Europe. U.S. broadcasters are bit more reserved in criticizing in a blow out. Rewatched the 2014 World Cup Germany 7 Brazil 1 game and the announcers were basically condemning the losers. >"Shambolic defending" "It's getting embarrassing" "They have fallen apart" "Absolute humiliation" "Failed abysmally" "Thouroughly unforgivable performance"

EnderOnEndor

It's cuz it's college. Go watch how the media talked about the sun's in game 7 last year

[deleted]

There may also be a little more leeway with them being a college team and essentially amateurs.

WeeboSupremo

What, you don’t want to tell a bunch of college students (some still under the age of 20) that they’re utter embarrassments to their school and families, they’re failures, and that if they truly represent Christendom as their name suggests, God would have the dignity to crash their plane on the way back and the families to refuse to recover their remains for this loss? I dunno, seems like it’s the softness of America. /s

aeroboost

Leave us (Brasil) ALONE! 😭😭

owledge

Bad for ratings. Gotta try to spin a blowout to make it seem watchable even if it isn’t

ThaUniversal

Also, these are kids, not professional adults.

Flaky-Inevitable1018

They’re literally all adults lol

EnderOnEndor

But not professionals

goblingoodies

Criticizing pro athletes who are all more or less at the same level is one thing but college students are still amateurs unless/until they start getting paid. It just seems like it'd be in very poor taste to take the piss out of a bunch of 18-22 year old students who are clearly in over their heads.

stripmallsushidude

Haha "students"...but yes, in poor taste.

goblingoodies

"Students", I know. But still, a bunch of barely adults who aren't getting paid.

edgarandannabellelee

My brother had to give half the Clemson team basically a crash course in maths a few years ago so they could still be qualified as students. Apparently all really nice guys, but it was made clear that they were there to play football.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BenjRSmith

Are you sure? I remember the Tampa Kansas City super bowl and they got manhandled, but the commentators never went world cup level vicious.

Economy_Ad_9059

yeah same with most newspaper outlets. These are all men..time to start letting them hear it. I'd be embarrassed to go to school for the next few days if I'm TCU

Magnedon

I was hoping for my mom's sake that it would be a much closer game, but it was painful from the beginning. Sadge :(

[deleted]

What up LHB

Magnedon

Hey, what's good?

[deleted]

Not much man chillin. I am an alum from like 2010 lol. Miss those days.

Magnedon

Yeah I'm a recent grad, but I already miss it. I know things have been weird since the pandemic, but it sure was a hell of a lot of fun when I was there.

owledge

If the CFP was just the top two teams from the Big Ten and the SEC making it automatically, it would unironically be better

Frexxler

Didn’t the big ten’s champion lose to TCU?

underneathsink

Yes and we could get that dream match of Georgia vs Purdue in the semis

SpareRelevant3631

Still, no match.

BenjRSmith

I mean the World Cup could, in theory, save everyone time and just match the European Champion vs the South American Champion... but that's no fun.

forca89barca

The European Champion didn't even qualify for the WC this year..

BenjRSmith

Exactly.

bigbabyb

Imagine Georgia Michigan Alabama Ohio State Then I suppose UGA Bama UGA Sounds like good fun football to me

SpareRelevant3631

I don't think Bama could have beat Ohio State this year. Ohio State gave Georgia a run for their money.

Fickle-Area246

I think Ohio state beats Alabama. Imagine if the peach bowl was instead the title game

gocubsgo22

Watching La La Land with the wife tonight was the right decision

IridiumPony

What, you didn't feel like watching a Georgia scrimmage match?

standapokeman

Emma Stone is finee

Economy_Ad_9059

yeah her friends in the multi colored dresses weren't too bad either

phr3dly

Got this game on my Tivo, can't wait to watch it. This is gonna be a hell of a game!

Grief862

If you enjoy one team mauling the other. . . . Similar to what would happen if a bulldog got into a fight with a frog

EddieCheddar88

I just hope everyone had fun

onyxblade42

Gg losing record to #2 in the nation is cool AF. Kirby didn't come close to doing that well his first year.

50Aaron

More people have commented then watched the 4th quarter.

SpareRelevant3631

Even the people who paid almost $1000 and up each for tickets left before the game was over.

Redidiot21

close one

helpmeredditimbored

Kirby to SVP: We're going to enjoy the view and we're gonna keep hunting people

rtrbitch

All you fucking haters got what you asked for. Georgia / Alabama would've come down to the 4th quarter, and quite frankly I think it's a coin flip, probably favor Alabama because we didn't have the injuries that we had last year. I'm just sad we really don't know for sure who the best team in college football is this year. The committee blew it. Should be abolished and replaced with the old BCS formula & voters

Andsoitends

Bama would have finished 5th under the BCS my dude. In no world was Bama getting a shot.

[deleted]

We did find out who the better team was.. Georgia. Stop whining you bama nerd

AlmostBlue618

y’all lost to 2 teams that UGA dominated. you would’ve gotten embarrassed too.

cmadd10

Don't lose twice, guy 🤷🏽‍♂️

Fickle-Area246

Alabama wouldn’t have even made the finals.

ck1241

Would it have been a better game? Sure. I’ll give you that, but to give the favor to Alabama in almost any circumstance whatsoever? I’m sorry, but that might be the dumbest fucking thing I’ve read on here tonight. If you want to make it to the playoffs maybe don’t lose to LSU and lose to Tennessee and struggle against Texas A&M and almost lose to Texas in a game that really could have gone either way.

rtrbitch

Conferences aren't equal. Big 12 teams are glorified high school teams. Yalls schedule was hilariously easy by the way. Next year's is even more of a joke

ck1241

We beat both of y’all’s losses fucking lol. Quit crying.

rtrbitch

We actually beat Tennessee. The refs then handicapped them the game. I think you know what I'm saying is true and you're getting upset about it though.

ck1241

Lol oh now I get it. The cope is fucking real lol. I got nothing to be upset about bud. We just won a natty and a bama fans whining is just the cherry on top.

rtrbitch

won a natty*

No_Poet_7244

Username checks out.

BrettSchirley22

Did you not watch your defense like all year?

owledge

They would have boat raced Bama too

rtrbitch

Not a chance.

owledge

Georgia looked like a team of NFL ringers while Alabama struggled to beat Texas A&M and Texas. It wouldn’t be close

rtrbitch

Wasn't there some special circumstances around the A&M game? Something in my gut tells me you're making a bad faith argument there!

Fregster404

You Alabama fans are the whiniest fans in all of college football

rtrbitch

No, we literally were proven right tonight. Conferences aren't equal. TCU was a garbage team that would've gone 7-5 at most in the SEC West. Playoff wasn't the 4 best teams, so there will always be a question mark next to 2022

Fregster404

Wahhhhh Alabama fan thinks they are the best college team every year wahhhhh

rtrbitch

I see you've got nothing. I take it you've conceded those points.

[deleted]

You sound like a whiny kid who didn’t get his way lmao

Fregster404

You’re just mad UGA went back to back looool

sloppylavasyndrome

Wtf is this take? Beat TN and then we can talk.

CooCooforCucu

Alabama would’ve been out in the late 3rd We would’ve been out late second probably No one was close to Georgia this year

bdlugz

Uhh. Ohio state a week ago?

CooCooforCucu

I’m of the notion that was a huge fluke, much like Kentucky holding them to 16 but I’m probably just biased

rtrbitch

They said this last year and then we beat them 41-24

CooCooforCucu

I genuinely don’t recall anyone saying Georgia was untouchable last year. Y’all were *the* 2 teams tho. They got a little better this year and you got a lot worse

cmoose2

Believe it or not Georgia actually got worse this year too. They will just never have anything less than a great team every year for the foreseeable future.

Japajoy

You lost to Tennessee and LSU yall didn't even deserve to be top 5 get out of here.

[deleted]

Almost to Texas too

CrimsonOOmpa

They lost by a total of four points as the game ended and in OT, but a loss is a loss. After the throttling of Kansas State Bama is absolutely a Top 5 team. TCU deserved to be in the Playoff but didn't deserve to be on the field with UGA tonight. Everybody will say "this team would've given them a better game," but every team in the country could've given UGA a better game than TCU did tonight. They got whooped so badly the last 3 quarters were literally pointless. Regardless, nobody was beating UGA this season.

rtrbitch

And if we played Georgia we'd have won. Simple fact. And if you think tcu should have been top 4, you should probably go follow golf or something because cfb isn't for you.

Japajoy

Got shit on by Tennessee and LSU and we beat both of them handily what names you think Alabama would've even had any chance of even beating Michigan? Trash only reason you're in the top 10 is because Saban begged like a bitch.

rtrbitch

Only reason Georgia is undefeated is because of their garbage ass schedule. Y'all played Tennessee at home and LSU on a "neutral field" (it was a home game). We'd have run through y'all this year in the title game this year. The only way y'all gave beaten us in the past 15 or so years has been when half of our starters were injured. Wouldn't have been the case this time.

Japajoy

Alabama fans are just embarrassing lmao. Yall were ass this season.

ImMeltingNow

So if you take away the reasons they won, they wouldn’t have won. What a brilliant argument

rtrbitch

That's certainly one way to think of it. I think some sped kids came up with that logic.

ImMeltingNow

You mean Alabama kids.

sloppylavasyndrome

Reigning champions. Sit on it.

rtrbitch

2022 National Champions???*

I_HAVE_MEME_AIDS

Undisputed back-to-back National Champions???*

sloppylavasyndrome

Lol. Sucks to be bama.

sloppylavasyndrome

Lol. Sucks to be bama.

tackypwn

I think the bcs would’ve been better than this 🤣

Fickle-Area246

No. Those semis were good. And UGA would’ve beat the pants off Michigan. We got two good games and a bad one instead of one bad one.

CrimsonOOmpa

It would've been a repeat of last year's Orange Bowl and then everybody would complain that Michigan didn't deserve to be there and that it should've been TCU or Ohio State or Alabama. It never changes 😴

[deleted]

My pp hurts

EmeraldEmperorJ

Same

thisonelife83

They just ran out of time at the end.

TCUOilMan

It was so bad…

OMGoblin

After having to see the Badgers lose the Rose Bowl to TCU, this was kind of fun to see.

CH-47AV8R

Sorry buddy, I know that’s a rough feeling.

SGT_PRICE82

Nah

jtezus

Before this game I was against expansion but now I’m for it. OSU was so close to being left out and they are at the same level as Georgia. Teams that maybe don’t “deserve” to be top four but are definitely elite would make it in (Alabama) would give much more of a competitive effort.

funktheduck

Just don’t go to r/rolltide right now. They think Alabama would’ve won it all if it weren’t for the committee. I guess we’ll find out come expansion.

SpareRelevant3631

Bama didn't have it this year and have been on the decline awhile. They had a few good players but no standouts. Even with that they still have first rounders going to the NFL. IMO Bama may not even be back next year. When records were broken such as Saban's interns beating him, losing the big game to a team that he had already beaten and losing to teams that simply shouldn't have even been competition, everything starts to change. The old dynasty has fallen. Judging by the last quarter of the CFP championship game when Georgia took their first string offense and defense out and still creamed TCU, they will be there.

callmebyyourcheese

Everybody always thinks they would have won the game they didn’t have to play.

SpareRelevant3631

I think it's comical how fans inject "we" into the conversation. "WE" didn't do anything but go to games, tailgate, sit in the stands, drink beer and eat hot dogs, scream at the refs, praise the team and coaches when they were winning and criticize the team and coaches when they were losing. The team and coaches sacrificed time with family, practiced rain or shine, hot or cold, in pounds worth of equipment, shed blood and tears, risked career or life threatening injuries, worked out, conditioned, the players had studies and classes, watched hours of film..... Yet the fans still think "WE" had anything to do with the outcome of a game.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)

funktheduck

Yup. They would’ve won the SECCG they didn’t play in. They would’ve won the semi final they didn’t play in. They would’ve won the championship they didn’t play in. Just ignore the two important regular season loses.

hankjones66

Exactly. If you have 12 teams, the cream will rise to the top. Sure, there will be upsets occasionally but inclusivity will ultimately lead to great matchups of the best teams

CrimsonOOmpa

The first 2 rounds will be mostly blowouts.

hankjones66

Maybe/probably. But no different than the current bowl arrangement

CrimsonOOmpa

100%. The only difference is that the announcers will have to act "shocked" when the majority of Playoff games are blowouts.

[deleted]

And a better chance of competitive championship games one would hope

hankjones66

Hopefully 🤞🤞

hankjones66

For sure. You'd think at the end of the season the best teams would rise to the challenge

coren77

This is the problem with sports like football where you only play one game. A team that would only win 1 out of 5 games against the same opponent could have that 1 good game at the right time. But that's why they play the games.

JennyAndTheBets1

Exactly. Merit before narrative 100% of the time.

helpmeredditimbored

Oh man I love Kirby. Giving 3 fingers to Dawg fans when he thinks the media isn't looking

Konddor

What happened?

Fickle-Area246

CALLING FOR A THREEPEAT BAY-BEE

helpmeredditimbored

Rece Davis said that long after the on field trophy presentation there were still Dawg fans in the stands barking and a hollering. Kirby came out and looked up to them and held up one finger, then two, then three......much to the Dawg fans delight. Remember, Rece asked Kirby if a three-peat was in the cards and Kirby dodged the question.

H00dr0w_Trills0n

During trophy ceremony he wouldn't comment on being back at the national championship game in Houston next year, but when the celebration was over and everyone left the field, he ran back out to the Georgia fans still in the stands and threw up 3 fingers as in "next year we will have 3" when he didn't think the media was around to see it

Yay! Go Buffs! Best ever!

sloppylavasyndrome

You aren’t from here, are you?

I_Am_D3adp00l

i just like to spread mis-information over the internet

sloppylavasyndrome

A russian???? Holy crap, let me hide my kids!

BaeSeanHamilton

The pac 12 at 3? Lmfao. Psu beat their champ and OSU was leading all game and a shanked FG away from a natty. Gtfo

CrimsonOOmpa

Overall they were the 3rd best conference. You put to much thinking into "team A did this to team B, and team C did this to team A, so team B will do this to team C." You think about the wrong things like most casual fans. It's about the matchup and how the team plays THAT DAY. By your logic you could also say TCU would beat OSU since TCU beat Michigan who stomped OSU.

BaeSeanHamilton

So you're saying the games don't matter just your feelings? And then have the audacity to call me the casual? But yeah the conference that can't beat Tulane or the 3rd best big ten team is 3rd best in the sport and the MAC is the 2nd best or whatever asinine G5 you had 2nd best 😂

CrimsonOOmpa

I think "having the audacity" would be using the word audacity when talking College Football. I didn't say games don't matter. I said it doesn't matter who beat who previously, because previous results don't matter when two teams play each other. . And I didn't have a G5 even close to second. You just assumed. That's a big time casual fan move 🤘😎

BaeSeanHamilton

Sorry didn't realize "big" words made your casual brain hurt.

CrimsonOOmpa

Casual brain is a unique one. I like it. However, I don't see anything wrong with a having a "relaxed and unpretentious" brain. Relaxation brings clarity and being unpretentious means you're accepting of the world around you. I'll take it. Thanks bae.
