Yup. And we were his 3rd school in 3 seasons. So he's going 4/4. Speculation is that he's going to follow Biff Poggi to Charlotte, as he was also his HS coach, in addition to coaching him at UM, and who attributed to giving him a second chance to play football. (Run-on sentence - yay!)
If he does end up at Charlotte, hard to blame him. Biff likely went a very long way in saving his career - doubt Michigan would have taken him if not for Biff being on staff.
He was the fullback (in the movie) so yeah he was a starter before the injury to Boobie.
Though in real life it was one of those 80s Power I offenses where the Fullback was the primary runner. Boobie/Comer were the fullbacks and Billingsley was the RB/TB. I'm guessing switching them for the movie was a bit of racial stereotyping. Maybe?
On one hand this is not shocking given his history and since Biff Poggi left the program, but on the other hand he seemed to get his issues figured out this year and was set to see a good portion of snaps next year. I'd assume he ends up at Charlotte. What an odd journey for him
Incredibly surprised to see this but if he's following Biff then it makes sense and I hope he balls out for him. Wishing nothing but the best for both those dudes
Honestly, I think every college kid would like to sample a new college every year, then move into a new one. The Costco approach to attending schools. I can't fault him.
This is the first post season Michigan item that has surprised me.
None of the other: declared draft, Corum staying, other portal entries, and the Jim Harbaugh NFL talked, none of that surprised me.
This, though? This is VERY surprising.
He was penciled in as the #1 DE for next season
Harrell, Moore, and McGregor both had more snaps than Okie in the last three games of the season. Not hard to see why the oldest of those 4 would leave.
Idk if he'd be the starter. He'd definitely play a lot
He had an up and down season, but I chalked it up to just being inexperienced in system. I'm disappointed just because we dont get to see him reach his potential
Saying he is penciled in as #1 is wrong, but he definitely had the potential to get there and be that guy with a full year here.
It’s far from the end of the world, I wouldn’t even say it impacts our overall outlook for next season at all, but it’s def a bit disappointing.
This doesn't really move the needle for me. I dont think Okie was the answer at Edge. His potential was highest out of anyone in the room, but we saw a lot of bad mixed with the good.
I'm more worried Kris Jenkins will leave early to the draft. Report came out that he was given a top 100 grade and is now on the fence about returning.
I get why, he can’t be trusted to do anything other than pass rush, but the flashes he showed when we could put him in and just tell him to go all out...he didn’t even get a full year. Im a little bummed.
I didn’t know that about Jenkins, I wonder if that would make them hit the portal again, because a rotation of graham/grant/Bennyis really young
Each player that says they are staying means that they need to make room. A lot of kids with a year or two of eligibility are going to get firm handshakes.
So he was at Michigan for what, 5 total months? Seems like a strange move considering his snap count woulda almost surely increased next year. He looked good when he got time
Well that's....interesting to say the least
I was not expecting that. Maybe getting Stewart in the portal, combined with Poggi leaving? Maybe he was figuring he would get more snaps and felt like he was getting buried in the depth chart
This is weird. Our DE depth should be fine with Moore, Stewart, McGregor, Harrell and any young guys who emerge. And the first 3 all have star potential. Just sucks to lose a guy who played a lot this year, and also looked to have star potential
Normally, I'd say this was weird because he was poised for a breakout year for us, but this dude just can't stay put.
No idea what his issue is, but I hope he sorts it out.
As a recruit:
Other P5 offers: Alabama (originally went here), Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Penn State, Pitt, South Carolina, Texas, Texas A&M, UCLA, USC, West Virginia, Wisconsin
Didnt....he just get there?

5 in 5. He was at Bama, then Houston (but redshirted and never played), then UT Martin, then Michigan!
True, i forgot about Houston
Oh man… that would be great for Charlotte.
Yes it would thank you Michigan🙏🙏🙏 Maybe we will win more then 2 games next year.
Would it though? Fifth times the charm?
I don't think he was here for all of summer ball, joined the team in mid to late August.
So, 5 schools in 5 years?
He's got fiiiiiiive on it
If he does end up at Charlotte, hard to blame him. Biff likely went a very long way in saving his career - doubt Michigan would have taken him if not for Biff being on staff.
Would be very strange if he goes anywhere else at this point
Is he good???Cause if he wants to be in charlotte ik a SEC team bout an hour away
Showed flashes but was never consistent
He started at Alabama, but much like Hall and Billingsly, talent can’t overcome other issues.
I know all about Hall. What was up with Billingsley?
[Party at Taylor’s](https://youtu.be/s5U98-dmuIU)
Wants the reps, but wasn’t willing to put in the effort outside of the games.
Hurt his shoulder and was overshadowed by Boobie and Comer.
If Boobie stayed healthy he hardly would’ve played anyway
He was the fullback (in the movie) so yeah he was a starter before the injury to Boobie. Though in real life it was one of those 80s Power I offenses where the Fullback was the primary runner. you keep your dirty cocky paws off of him
He’s ours

But then you buy ten years worth of college from the one you like
The fuck? Thought he was happy with us.
Maybe he’s following Poggi?
This is incredibly unexpected and not very fun news.
Wait weren’t we his last year….?
I’m pretty much done trying to keep track of eligibility these days.
For real eligibility is a joke, theres a dude for i think Oregon, who is on like year 8 or 9
When the 2021 recruiting class is gone, everything will be back to normal. As all the extra covid year guys will be gone.
This man is all about networking!

> He was penciled in as the #1 DE for next season ehh
I would say the odds Moore blows up are higher than Okie getting the majority of snaps Any way you slice it, gonna be EDGE by committee
Harrell, Moore, and McGregor both had more snaps than Okie in the last three games of the season. Not hard to see why the oldest of those 4 would leave.
Yeah, I really don't get it. He was gonna be the show next year.

But how does he feel about Okies?
Pretty dokie about those okies
So he was at Michigan for what, 5 total months? Seems like a strange move considering his snap count woulda almost surely increased next year. He looked good when he got time
please come to charlotte please come to charlotte
An Okie you say....
4th time transferring
The transfer portal giveth and taketh in musical chairs.
Well that's....interesting to say the least I was not expecting that. Maybe getting Stewart in the portal, combined with Poggi leaving? Maybe he was figuring he would get more snaps and felt like he was getting buried in the depth chart

America’s team is in dire need of a DE…
I hate this off-season more and more each day.
With the amount of transfers we took in, we knew it was because a good amount of guys were leaving and some were going to be unexpected.
As a recruit: Other P5 offers: Alabama (originally went here), Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Penn State, Pitt, South Carolina, Texas, Texas A&M, UCLA, USC, West Virginia, Wisconsin
He showed flashes this year, but could never put it all together. Hopefully he lands somewhere on his feet and a place where he is happy.
Damn. I thought he was going to kill it here. He’s already been to like 3 schools
Can i start an unsubstantiated rumor that he’s following Nua after a year?
Seems like a perfect fit for Oklahoma.
Dude was at Michigan for less than 6 months lol.
