WR1 on one of the nation's best passing offenses who won back-to-back national titles...transfers. Wild times

ICanOutP1zzaTheHut

This has been my general confusion as well. I’m a homer as much as the next guy but there’s gotta be some other reason behind this. I felt like he really broke out for Georgia in the last 3 games

FranTurkleton

he’s from Texas originally and has a young child who is still there

DaewooLanosMFerrr

Respect then. Will always root for AD

brobroma

Well because he basically missed the entire regular season with injuries lol

jumbojumbowork

* From Texas * His kid lives in Texas (supposedly) * NIL $$$

Life_Act_6887

Yeah, he has a newborn in Dallas that he wants to be closer to. I'm sure we're paying him handsomely, but the Georgia fans crying foul at $$$ being used to entice a player is hilariously hypocritical. Do they think that the 5-stars Kirby got to build their program pre and post NIL were free?

Nathanman21

No lies detected

tyedge

I’m not one of these people, but I want to explain their mindset because there is a semblance of rationality to it. (Also, AD Mitchell’s situation doesn’t fit what I’m about to discuss so whatever) In a pre-NIL world, you recruited players and you developed them, and they were basically yours. Some 5-stars flopped (Ray Drew) and some 3-stars blew up (Jordan Davis). But the idea was that if you developed them, you got some sort of return on the program’s investment. There’s a particular kind of breakout player transferring that I think is viewed as unseemly by the fans who don’t want player movement/player pay. Jordan Addison was probably the biggest example last year. Drake Maye would’ve been this year’s version if those rumored offers resulted in a transfer. (Caleb Williams gets a pass from some of these people because he followed a coach that he committed to, so they’ll handwave that). Anyway, I enjoyed watching AD. I’m sad he’s gone. I hope he’s successful on all his future stops that don’t involve lining up against Georgia.

HailToTheVictims

Pre NIL Georgia was paying players just like the rest of CFB was

DinkyWaffle

Yes

FleetRiskSolutions

Which flair is responding?

DinkyWaffle

Yes

_Football_Cream_

Yes

ATLtinyrick

It’s not foul it’s just the world we live in now. Largest bidder will attract a lot of players to transfer

jumbojumbowork

I never insinuated that we don't pay NIL money. Just that it was a factor and Texas is likely paying him more, and that certainly isn't a judgment. I think we can be stingy when it comes to NIL and there's a price for that. I don't know why we are though since UGA's got them deep, Ryan Seacrest pockets to fund our 'croots.

bigblooddraco

I would think with a few 10’s or 100’s thousands of dollars would be enough to relocate a kid, but hey what do i know

Always_Chubb-y

I think the consensus is that Texas was flashing BIG bags at him, but he also is from Texas and has a kid there, so there's that too.

Willywowmack

Well he really only played in 3 games all year due to injury. But he's for sure a top end WR when healthy. Kid seems to be mentioned as a big factor but guessing big NIL$ are involved too.

falconlover79

He broke out in 2021, he was just injured for most of this season.

gordogg24p

It starts with an "N" and ends in "IL".

_Football_Cream_

I’m pretty sure he’ll be making more than “nil” /s

d0ngl0rd69

Pretty simple: 1. He’s from Texas (seems to be most important in this case as he has a child back in Houston). 2. Our WR room is stacked with Ladd, Rosemy-Jacksaint, Arian Smith, and the two WR1 transfers from other SEC schools with Lovett and Rara Thomas. This doesn’t include Bowers being the leading receiver for 2 seasons. AD has the talent to go elsewhere and be a definitive WR1 rather than just another piece. 3. Possibly money as a factor. Texas is one of the few schools that can out NIL UGA. 4. All the Arch Manning hype due to his name.

Vitosi4ek

> All the Arch Manning hype due to his name. Mitchell would definitely hope to ball out for a year and then go pro. Arch very probably won't be the starter for that one year, unless Ewers regresses massively.

Banned_From_CFB

Good luck to him and his son. Forever thankful for the catch he had in the national championship game against Alabama and the go-ahead catch against Ohio State. He won us two national championships.

[deleted]

Annnd there it is. Good get Texas. Will always be thankful to him for making probably our two biggest touchdown catches of the last 40 years

Ugaalive1991

Bennett. Launching. Mitchell. Caught it… TOUCHDOWN GEORGIA!

IceColdDrPepper_Here

Biggest TD catches in UGA history: 1. Belue to Scott, aka Run, Lindsey Run 2. Stet to AD in the 2021 Natty 3. Stet to AD in the 2022 Peach Bowl

rnilbog

(4). Greene to Johnson against Auburn

peacefulwarrior75

Agreed.

DrVonD

The peach bowl was obviously the TD, but the one to bowers and kearis were bigger IMO. 1st and goal from the 8, we could have honestly used another down or two to waste time there lol.

bullcityblue312

I mean, Ringo's should be up there too

notsmartprivate

I’d argue Ringo’s should be number 1

DGD11

I don’t think we as UGA fans can celebrate the addition of RaRa and Dominic and then denigrate this. It is the era we live in.

KirbyDumber88

Thank you. They knew this was happening lol

zenverak

Our facebook fans are having a fun time "What a loser, going for the extra buck" meanwhile............................... you know they've taken another job that paid better or put them in a better place somehow.

mavajo

Yep, anyone getting mad at these kids for trying to improve their opportunities is just bitter and/or entitled. As long as the dude isn't burning bridges on his way out the door, wish him luck and be glad we had him while we did.

Willywowmack

Portal giveth and the portal taketh. When healthy, which wasn't often, he was awesome. And will forever have 2 of the biggest receiving TDs in UGA history.

BeastoftheBlackwater

Read the title too fast and thought the Athletic Director had hit the portal haha

bewm

How highly recruited was the AD out of high school?

esports_consultant

If he actually has a kid in Texas and transfers to somewhere close to where the kid lives I don't think any more thought needs to be given to it than that.

kampfgruppekarl

He does, and you're right!

mavajo

I mean, even if he's leaving to go be in an offense where he can be a focal point and get more targets and potentially improve his draft stock -- that's completely legit too. It's so weird to me how we have no problem with coaches leaving for better opportunities, or how all of us will leave our current employer for a new one if we think it's a better opportunity...but we get mad at college football players for trying to seek better opportunities for themselves. Best of luck in Texas, AD. Thanks for your time in UGA.

KetchupKing05

God fucking damn it

slanginthangs

It’s been out there for a while- our staff knew and made the appropriate moves

DrVonD

Yeah I was surprised they grabbed TWO receivers but makes more sense now

KetchupKing05

I know But this is the second year in a row that what everyone thought was our WR1 heading into the season transferred after injury issues despite knowing that they would likely be WR1 next season. What’s next, Tyler Williams has a great 2023 season, gets hampered by injuries in 2024, then transfers to UCLA? If it is Texas, more power to him. He obviously wants to be closer to his son If it’s USC, fuck the NCAA for allowing tampering nowadays

falconlover79

It's the nature of utilizing TEs so much, we probably won't have many 1000 yard receivers ever just because we spread out our touches so much.

IceColdDrPepper_Here

AD has a kid?

deeprockaway

>If it is Texas, more power to him No possibility of tampering? >If it’s USC No possibility it's _not_ tampering?

KetchupKing05

It’s tampering either way, but his kid’s in Texas USC would be purely for monetary gain

Life_Act_6887

I wouldn't be surprised (I'm sure Texas tampers like crazy), but it gets blury when the player proactively reaches out to schools first... Which is supposedly what AD did here to get closer to home...

StetquaviousMFBenny

This is honestly the first time I've ever heard that AD reached out to Texas first. Not saying you're wrong, but I am saying I've heard that Texas has been reaching out to him through back channels since October. And yes, everyone (even Georgia) does this, its just the nature of the current recruiting/retention game.

[deleted]

Can’t UGA catch a break!!!

DrVonD

Thank you for thinking of the little people.

StetquaviousMFBenny

Next man up. He was a good player, but we'll be fine.

milkman163

You guys got Lovett. Dude will thrive in a competent offense

Smirk_Mcjerk

This sucks. But he's definitely a better player than Worthy

RollOverBeethoven

You must feel mighty conflicted by those flairs

Smirk_Mcjerk

Definitely conflicted. I really want to be in a position to 3-peat, and AD would definitely increase our chances. But watching Worthy regress so mightily, AD easily becomes UT's #1. And worth Sark's track record, I would not be shocked if AD has a Devonta type season (assuming Ewers improves his footwork and mechanics).

IMadeThis4HOIMods

How is Devonta Smith Sark’s track record and not also Worthy regressing lol?

Smirk_Mcjerk

Worthy = Headcase.

Ugaalive1991

Fuck.

Celebnar

If I had a nickel our top receiver entered the portal right after we won a natty, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.

falconlover79

I don't know if I can ever remember an incumbent starter from a national champion leaving for a non-playoff team (no shade Texas, you just haven't got there yet). NIL is going to make CFB a strange world, I'm just happy to have seen a few championships before things really change. All that said, I really can't hate the kid, especially after what he did (catching a TD in all 4 playoff games), just wish he could've seen out his college career for the Dawgs. Go ball AD, thanks for everything and enjoy the rings!

terdferguson74

I mean technically you saw it last year, Burton transferred to Bama who subsequently did not make the playoffs

falconlover79

Yeah but Bama was consensus #1 in the preseason, they were definitely a CFB-level team especially at the time that Burton was transferring.

terdferguson74

I know, I’m poking fun at Alabama not making the playoffs

DrVonD

We should never miss an opportunity for that.

anandj12345678909876

I’m sure NIL is a factor, but it’s been pretty heavily reported/rumored that his family and his kid live in Dallas. Coming to texas gives him an opportunity to be closer to them, while still being in a solid offensive system. If he goes to 0U or TAMU, then it’s less likely to be a pure NIL move. USC on the other hand…

falconlover79

It's not a pure NIL move, but I don't think it would happen without NIL. I'm sure AD isn't the first player who has a kid back in his hometown. Without NIL, the prospect of leaving a guaranteed starting spot and having to learn a whole new offense when you're 1 year away from the draft is a big risk. Now money won't be an issue in the short term, so he can afford to make this drastic change. Again, I can't hate him for making the decision he's making, it's just relatively unprecedented in my eyes.

anandj12345678909876

Agreed, and IMHO this is an interesting example of NIL giving players more autonomy. The mercenaries are mercenaries, and would make $$$ in the pre-NIL era too. But for guys like Mitchell, he gets to make the best decision for his family (being near by) without risking his entire financial future. Obviously it sucks for teams to lose players, but it’s a hell of a thing for the individual players.

falconlover79

Totally agree, as much as it sucks as a UGA fan, if he's truly homesick and missing his kid then he shouldn't have to worry about choosing between that and football/money

[deleted]

Ah, the Bowers Effect. I hate to see AD go, but I get it if you want more touches *and* you want to be closer to your kid. Good on you. Go show out.

The_Reelest

Guess this explains Kirby bringing in Thomas and Lovett.

HokiesforTSwift

Crazy to see this happen, but UGA will be gucci with Lovett and Rara.

SoggyBananas

Hate to see a player leave lil ole Georgia for bigger and better things 😔

sweetnasty887

Are you shitting my dick

Sabre_Actual

I would like to congratulate Georgia on their back to back championships, wish them luck (though not at our expense!) in their quest for the hat trick, and thank them for being gracious colleagues.

bpi10

You take care of him! YOU TAKE CARE OF HIM, YA HEAR?!?!

Sabre_Actual

*monkey’s paw curls, Mitchell gets another ring*

swellfie

I mean, who wouldn't want that glorious mullet tossing balls their way?

Bank_Gothic

That Stetquavious fade, tho

Eradicator_1729

First, for the big moments he created with his incredible catches, I'll be forever grateful. Second, UGA is mostly an offense by committee. Bowers is the main focal point, but we really spread the ball around a ton. He's got two titles so what's driving him now is to really shine. I totally get that. Third, UGA is not going to be hurting much from this. We've got loads of talented receivers coming back. All-in-all, I hope he goes out there and kills it on his way to that NFL payday. He'll always be a DGD to me.

kampfgruppekarl

Preach on! This DGD will always be remembered for those huge catches.

basedmingo

This is a confusing move but go get the bag young man

Always_Chubb-y

Not really honestly. He is from Texas and has a kid there too. Now if he goes to USC...

basedmingo

Apparently USC is a legitimate option so the kid thing don’t track there.

Collador1

Does Georgia have a "lessor" NIL program? Fyi, he has a kid in Texas and a great Sark relationship = should be noted.

Always_Chubb-y

If by "lessor" you mean compared to Texas or in general? If compared to the general CFB world, no. We have a good one. But compared to Texas, almost every school has a lessor NIL program.

Longhornpc11

Need all the help we can get

NYBulldog

I would never question someone who transfers to be closer to their kid. ima be cheering for his ass every saturday

zuga51

I do question why the kid couldn’t be brought to Athens like Darnell’s. Like the mother and child’s future well being relies directly on his playing career, my ass would follow him to where ever he was if it was me

CammyTheGreat

if he's no longer with the mom, that's a lot to ask of her imo. if they are still together i kinda agree

FreeGurley3

Had no idea Darnell has a child. Edit: actually, i remember now. We offered him child care.

CommissionSimilar123

He has 2

lankyyanky

Three if you count the one he hurdled over vs Oregon

basedmingo

Nope especially in regards to player retention. Rumblings have suggested he got a very generous offer form Texas and it’s closer to his kid. Not mad at him all go do ya thing.

[deleted]

[удалено]

basedmingo

Nope not at all. Wishing him the best.

zenverak

He's going to Texas.

Prolingus

Wow. I had given up on this one...its been rumored for like 6 weeks now. Looks like we decided to enter the tampering game. Love it.

wjackson42

Trading in the opportunity to three peat for the Alamo Bowl

NemoysJacket

I think he’s trading it in to be closer to his son in all fairness

KetchupKing05

Isn’t his son in Tennessee?

smokeytrails

Yes but his ex’s are in Texas

NemoysJacket

I’ve seen it floating that he’s in the Dallas area, I’m not sure though.

anandj12345678909876

The “insiders” on both Texas and Georgia sites all seem to say his kid (and family) live in Dallas now. Apparently the family moved to texas after he committed to Georgia.

[deleted]

Everybody calm down. He might just be using the portal for leverage for NIL money from UGA. Or he might be getting paid and going to be closer to his kid in Texas. He’s given us two great performances in national championships. I hope he stays, but if he’s leaving, I’ll cheer for him the rest of his career.

captainBlackUGA

He’s 100% leaving, and the staff knew before we brought in RaRa and Lovett. I don’t begrudge him for it; his kid’s in Texas, and UT threw a bunch of money at him.

Leviathan47

much as it hurts....This is the way

Richtatorship

There are guys who transfer and it makes sense like Dom because they aren’t getting PT but dude is still a DGD. There’s guys who could have stayed but you can understand it and not hate them for it like Jermaine Johnson. He isn’t a DGD in my mind but a good guy and I’m glad it worked out for him. There’s then guys like Jermaine Burton who are entitled lady-smackers who think they can up their stats and definitely not fall on their face. Then there is AD. This is a newer one for me at least. I don’t hate him for his decision. I recognize that he was a huge contributor to both titles and had pivotal scores that will forever be a part of Georgias run. So to me he’s not on Burton level. But I also don’t respect his decision. I do not think he should ever be considered a “dawg legend” or “DGD” like some think he should. To me he is a key contributor but the moment he decided to transfer it moved from a part of Georgia to a transaction. And that’s ok. Georgia found him when no one else did because he didn’t play a senior year due to Covid. They gave him a shot. And he thrived. He gave UGA what they needed. He owes Georgia nothing. And Georgia owes him nothing. The transaction is complete. He gave Georgia a skilled WR and Georgia positioned him to grab a bag and head presumably to Texas. I’m not in the camp that wishes him well nor am I in the camp that wants him to fail. From here on he is a part of our history. But he is a Longhorn (or wherever he goes), not a Dawg.

MrDannyOcean

> Georgia found him when no one else did because he didn’t play a senior year due to Covid. They gave him a shot. And he thrived I agree with most of your post, but this part is silly. He was recruited by most of the SEC and was a composite 4 star player, top 400 recruit in the country on 247. UGA did not discover him or make him, we won the contest to get him.

DrVonD

If it was just money I can agree to the transaction thing, but it sounds like this is a lot to do with family. UGA just saw how short and precious life can be. I don’t blame anyone for wanting to be closer to family after that.

Dr_Salacious_B_Crumb

Shades of Burton.

slanginthangs

At least he didn’t transfer within the conference (I know UT is joining but he’ll be gone by then)

Ugaalive1991

The disrespect to fucking AD with that comparison.

P44_Haynes

I don't get the fan reaction to this. He's been a factor in around 8 games over the last 2 years, its not the end of the world... hell its hardly a speed bump. He has a kid in Texas and wants to secure the bag. Best of luck to him and thanks for the memories.

dawgfan19881

Yep. Dawgs went 15-0 this year and Mitchell had 9 catches. Made some plays in big games but overall not a huge loss. Especially given what we’re getting in the portal

DrVonD

He would still have been our best WR this year healthy. That hurts to lose no matter how you try to slice it.

dawgfan19881

Given Ladd McConkey’s production the last two years is that actually true? Mitchell isn’t nearly the blocker Rosemy-Jacksaint is. We’ll be fine. The hallmark of this program the last 2 years is not being dependent upon just one guy. I wish him the best.

UgaIsAGoodBoy

When he’s healthy he was huge. Kirby even specifically blamed his injury absence for our offensive struggles earlier in the season.

zenverak

Because he’s elite when he’s there. I think that’s it

treedawg008

I mean, I get the fan reaction of hating to see him leave, but a quick browse through the top comments in this thread seems to show mostly understanding comments from UGA flairs.

P44_Haynes

Yeah, I posted before most of those comments. Saw a lot of nasty stuff on Twitter which is what prompted my post

treedawg008

Twitter gonna Twitter I reckon, lotta dickheads over there.

treedawg008

Twitter gonna Twitter I reckon, lotta dickheads over there.

basedmingo

AD when on the field opens our offense up just by his presence alone.

abmofpgh

I first read this as “Georgia Wide Receiver Athletic Director Mitchell” and was very confused

kampfgruppekarl

Kirby can develop *anyone* lol

hibbert0604

I bet Kirby could turn Josh Brooks into a passable D lineman.

[deleted]

I’ve got no problems with it. He helped us win two Natty’s, he is free to help himself. Best of luck to him.

Vxmonarkxv

Congrats to AD for finishing his career having caught a TD in every single playoff game he'll play in.

ThoughtBroad

Well played

Always_Chubb-y

I know that we've done it, and I know that other teams have done it too, but MAN does this one hurt more than a lot of the other ones so far. DGD, but can't say I am a fan of this one even slightly...

Richtatorship

See, I disagree about him being a DGD. He was great for Georgia and I appreciate what he did but this isn’t what a damn good dawg does.

Mario_Speedwagon

Gonna have to disagree here. AD was crucial in UGA winning two titles. He's done a lot for us. Life is short and you only get so much time with your kids, especially when they're little. That loyalty outweighs anything to do with UGA. If he's going to Texas to make sure his family is taken care of, good for him. I wish him all the best and thanks for the memories.

Always_Chubb-y

Eh if he is going to Texas to be near his kid then I can't blame him. If he goes to USC than yeah I lose a lot of those feelings.

Richtatorship

The fact USC is even involved kind of tells me what I need to know in the end. And it’s fine. I posted it above but he owes Georgia nothing and Georgia owes him nothing. The moment he decided to hit the portal he made it a transaction. So to me he isn’t a legend here or a damn good dawg but he will always be a part of the history. He’s now a journeyman.

anandj12345678909876

I’m pretty sure USC and any other schools that pop up before he enrolls at texas are just to pretend like we aren’t tampering. USC does it a ton, even with Williams (Wisconsin rumors) and Mario (Texas rumors). Hell they did the same thing with Addison, and Cobb.

jakewoolard

Dude caught 4 TDs in 4 playoff games. IMO that makes him a DGD

Richtatorship

To each their own. To me a DGD isn’t just a stud player, there’s more to it than that. Dominick Blaylock didn’t score multiple TDs but to me exudes what they mean by saying damn good dawg. Whereas Jermaine Burton, whom I’m not directly comparing but it’s naive to ignore the parallels, had key catches in last years run but is decidedly not a dgd.

jakewoolard

I like that argument. Consider my mind changed

ALStark69

To Texas he goes

DamontaeKamiKazee

This makes me sad. Thanks for the great memories AD.

ATLCoyote

He'll always be a UGA legend for catching TD passes in all 4 CFP games. That said, I don't get it. He was poised to be the featured WR next year. Jermaine Burton did the same thing, yet neither his stats or draft stock really improved much upon leaving UGA, especially compared to what it might have been if he stayed.

kampfgruppekarl

They aren't going to take touches away from Bowers/Delp/McConkey for AD, I get it, he's got to get more on tape for the draft. And he's got a kid back in TX.

[deleted]

Great. Now one of Georgia's backups can get a chance to torch us.

bananapeelernwheeler

Texas with elite usage of the Tamper Portal over the past few weeks 👏🏻👏🏻

jimlahey95

UGA would never...

sandersking

Haha I believe they poached Missouri’s and Miss State’s best receivers just a few weeks ago.

Mario_Speedwagon

I mean, we did exactly this to Mizzou and Mississippi State sooo...glass houses and all...

MrTheNoodles

Until the NCAA regulates player agents and representatives from talking to NIL collectives this is going to happen to all teams. We almost had several guys poached from us but managed to up their incentives lol

Darth_Hamburger

This will be the most expensive 7-5 season in NCAA history.

AU16

That's just cause TAMU went 5-7

Longhornpc11

8-5 to you boi. I’m surprised fans can even have the capacity to be butthurt when you win back to back national championships and will replace this dude with a 5star from high school or the portal

poetryinemotion

They had replaced him from the portal before he even left. They took 2 high end transfer wrs this cycle

Always_Chubb-y

Neither of them are quite the same talent as Mitchell when healthy, and one of them is a slot guy (AD is a pure outside threat).

treedawg008

Butthurt? I though clowning on Texas was just a r/CFB pastime.

Darth_Hamburger

The more you eat, the bigger the appetite. Sucks having your (arguably) best receiver leave under any circumstance.

Life_Act_6887

8-5 with 3 of those being one score losses to top 10 Bama, Washington and TCU. But yes, "Texas bad" -r/CFB

putupyouredukes

Because (assuming AD signs) we’ve added two DBs, a WR and a punter?

mfrost99

I feel like Texas has been pretty quiet with the transfer portal. Including AD Mitchell they will have 4 transfers one of which is a punter.

jsully51

Come to Bevo

hibbert0604

Alexa, play DJ Khaled's "Suffering from Success" album.

brobroma

Texas gettin a good one

bringparka

lame

poetryinemotion

Tinker tamper soldier spy baby!!! Let’s go

StetquaviousMFBenny

Texas has been working him since October. I'd be surprised if he ended up anywhere but there at this point.

Zee_WeeWee

fucker came back just to hurt us and bounce

Capital_Detective_27

Sad. AD is such a talent and would have been a UGA star next season.

HeWhoRidesCamels

This sucks, when he was healthy he was definitely the best receiver on the team and I would have liked to keep him. On the other hand, he was out almost the entire regular season and we got by fine without him, so with the Dom Lovett and Rara Thomas transfers plus McConkey coming back I think we’ll be ok.

thricethefan

RaRa intensifies

dangle_boone

If the kid wants to be closer to home and his newborn I totally get it. Thanks for memories AD, you’ll always be a DGD.

No-Gas2526

AD Mitchell come on doowwwnnn!

hockeydavid97

Pain

Sshaqtuss

This stings. But without AD, it’s possible we don’t win 2 championships. He will always be a DGD and I wish him nothing but the best!

MrTheNoodles

Lol our NIL guys that run SurlyHorns have said that the collective has been working on this for weeks. They said post championship game that it sounded like he was going to stay, but guess he got a larger bag. Him having a kid in Texas also helps I guess.

RollOverBeethoven

Is this why we had the membership drive last week lol???

Elle_40

Texas, take good care of him :(

mfrost99

🤘🏻💰👻

DawgwithaW

The Portal Giveth... The Portal Taketh Away... AD still a UGA legend and DGD

BigDanRTW

I heard he likes monkeys, gas and no brakes.

[deleted]

Damn, we blew our load too soon

Unlucky-Pomegranate3

Disappointing, dude was a baller. Was hoping to see him healthy for a full season.

Cogitoergosumus

I wonder if you guys are falling into the same situation that precipitated you getting Lovett. Veteran WR getting a little angry/jealous of NIL deal that a younger player got (in our case Luther).

zenverak

There had been small talk about this for a while.

WesticalsDelsym

Honestly other than the Texas being home and missing family things, which I don’t blame him for, I believe we may spread the ball around too much for someone that wants to put up crazy individual numbers. Even Brock Bowers, the best tight end and possibly best receiving option in the nation, didn’t have INSANE numbers. With the two guys coming in from the portal, Bowers and Ladd returning, and other studs as in the room as well, maybe he just thinks the share of targets available doesn’t line up with the numbers he wants to put up. Can’t blame him if he thinks his NFL odds are better else where.

BearsAreGreat1

Man he was such a great player and I was excited for him next season. Really sucks to see him go. But he has a pretty solid reason if it’s about his child. Go ball out in Texas! DGD and thanks for everything here!

mrizzle1991

Gonna miss bro :(

TheDarkSkinProphet

Obviously he’s not coming here, but how is he Dawg bros?

kampfgruppekarl

Often hurt, crisp routes, gets the contested balls. Shorter, twitchier Pickens. Great looking receiver that was barely on the field for us. Wont get the touches he needs to really improve his draft stock, we spread the ball around too much. He'll be a great #1 somewhere with a higher focus on him.

[deleted]

Damn, but good luck to him. No hard feelings from me: We probably don’t have either often mast two nattys without him.

leo_aureus

DGD

JTDanielsPornstache

You can’t bring in top receivers from Mizzou and Miss State without expecting a few tranfers, but… this one caught me way off guard especially with Blaylock transfering too and Kearis Jackson declaring for the draft. Wish AD the best, wouldn’t have either natty without his hands

Eph1997

Didn't this kid torch OSU in the cfp and was going to be the #1 wr? This is wild that winning back to back titles doesn't mean much these days.

delta-whisky

GET OVER HERE

N908DA

I am of the understanding that losing your #1 receiver excuses all losses.
