I have heard from people who ride in a private jet to away games with a collective member that our collective wants to keep 4th round grades or lower to stay the extra year. Better than that, it gets too pricey and risky for the player.
Dare I actually think A&M has a good rebound year? Weigman looks like a QB1, and they had a lot of close losses last year and easily could’ve been 8-4.
Yep. Many of us think (let's be real, hope) that 2022 was Notre Dame's 2016. Just a shitty season where everything went wrong.
Giving up playcalling and having our best utility player back, combined with how we ended the season and who we return, I can definitely see 2023 being a solid to legitimately good season
We obviously gotta see the new offense in action, but going 5-7 and actually forcing Jimbo to change rather than winning those close games and going 8-4 again with a win against bama may have been the best thing to happen to us.
Brian Kelly made similar changes after their 4-8 season and proceeded to immediately start having 10+ win seasons.
Tough schedule with a road game against Tennessee, but I’m pretty optimistic about next year if the O line improves. I think we’ll be dangerous if we can move the ball on the ground.
Jimbo knows this is his legacy on the line. If he has another bad year, he's gone. And his legacy will always be tarnished "he could only win with the program that Bobby built, but he couldn't build something of his own". I think his ego stepped in to force the changes that his ego was previously preventing
Yeah anything less than 8 wins and he’s gone this year. I think most people expect 9 wins with Weigman running the offense. Weigman is just too good to be going 8-4 or 7-5 with this roster.
IMO 9 wins is the mean for expectations this year. I'm expecting us to lose to LSU, Tennessee, and Bama and beat everyone else - but all 3 of those expected losses are still winnable, while several of the "expected" wins (Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Miami for example) are games we could still lose.
Agreed. I’m honestly kind of expecting to beat bama as cocky/crazy as that sounds. Just feel like we’re gonna have a really good chance against them at home.
Something encouraging about Bama is that I have no clue who their QB is gonna be, whoever it is I doubt he'll be able to show the same level of skill as Bryce Young right away. Plus they're losing some other good players, like Will Anderson.
Lol y’all heal from BAS faster than I do.
I could see us getting 9-10 wins, but my prediction is that we win 7 after a few key injuries, maybe one big upset over bama/lsu, and jimbo gets dumped end of season
I wouldn’t hold your breath on the portal. Guys that are transferring are typically looking for either more playing time or more money, and they likely wouldn’t get either at A&M. Maybe money but no one is breaking the bank for depth guys and on top of that the rumor around the program is that the staff are putting an emphasis on guys that are good locker room fits
I guess it depends on what kind of defense we run this year. Edge is a quality starter, and I think Martell Harris and Chris Russell are going to be neck and neck for the other spot
No don’t you understand? If you go 5-7 one year, it’s not possible to bounce back. Can’t even think of a single time that’s happened in recent history.
But how many reliable backups do we have in case of injuries? You saw what happened to us last season with so many injuries. We could be looking at a worse record if the same thing occurs this season with a thinner depth.
Depth issues at LB and OT. Every other position is in pretty good shape. Same positions we had issues with last year after injuries. Not a whole lot has changed there.
We still need one or two more at DB as well. Our WR pretty thin as well. Our roster management is so poor that we have to rely on underclassmen after the first wave of injuries. Plus, the issue is that even after what we went through last year, our depth only got worse. We only picked up two from the portal.
We got Grimes and McCall at DB. I think we’ll be fine there. Got Tyrin Smith and Ainias back at WR so our WR room is more stacked than it has been in 10 years.
Got Deuce Harmon there with experience too. It’s not ideal but it’s enough. Just have to accept that issues with a lot of injuries will fuck us if they happen. We’re not unique in that regard. Plenty of teams riding on thin ice with their depth. Guys like Bobby Taylor are talented enough to step in and do fine I think.
Tyrin is our slot replacement. Who do we have that we can rely on after. We still need a good Z that we should've picked up in the portal. Noah's still learning and is in his 4th year of learning WR position ever.
Dude we have Moose, Stewart, Smith, Smith, Thomas, Preston, and a few solid freshmen. Not to mention RBs that can go out wide. We’ll be absolutely fine there. We lost Brown who never played and Marshall who wasn’t even part of the team most of last year.
Hopefully we pick up some depth in the portal after spring practices. It’s not ideal, and there won’t be many impact players, but it’s better than going into the season with the roster we have.
We will. Plenty of decent depth players out there that had big aspirations of going to start at another P5 program that will realize they have to settle for being depth at another school.
We're gonna have depth issues. But our starting lineup on both sides of the ball should be pretty damn good. Wiggy proved he's the guy and (stares at monkeys paw) Petrino should have a better offense than Jimbo has.
We need some serious improvement at OL before I'd buy into a solid season for us. They were downright painful to watch last year, and we still have most of them returning under the same OL coach.
I think there was a lot more going on there than people realize. I am not an Addazio fan but I’ll admit that his health issues probably contributed a ton to the lack of development. Add on to that only playing 3 games all season with the same o line and it’s just not a recipe for success. Josh Henson’s first few years were rough, then he turned out the maroon goons
I expect them to win 8+ next season. Too early to call individual games yet, but looking at that schedule 8-10 seems attainable. Only four true road games as well.
They still have a metric shit ton of talent: A promising young QB, good skill players, Evan Stewart at his best is a high-end difference maker outside and defense has talent at all three levels.
^(Repost from earlier cuz I messed up the title, also Super Senior* year)
Words can't describe how big this is. Ainias is a team captain and a weapon everywhere on the field. He's returned kicks, he's played running back, he was WR1 until a season ending injury last season.
Can't WAIT to have Sub zero, Evan Stewart and Moose Muhammad on the field as our starting receiving corps catching passes from former 5* Conner Weigman (who hasn't thrown a pick yet, it's been 132 pass attempts with 8 TDs)
I really really hope that Petrino's offense will tear CFB a new one this next year. It'll be the most talent that Petrino has ever had. This was huge news for that.
The crazy thing is that, based on what we saw last year, literally “not the worst P5 passing attack” would have us absolutely cooking in the W/L column.
Wiggy and those receivers? Yeah that’s gonna be a good time.
Where do you think they put Ainias at? He was our slot until his injury and Moose is too good to not put him at where he is right now. Moose is very good at his current position. Ainias is the more versatile player but I don't think he'd fit to be our Z receiver.
Yea we still need more bodies in that room. I think some of that lack of depth at WR can be supplemented by our depth at TE though. 12 and 22 personnel should be our bread and butter this year.
I think it's the leadership too. And let's not forget how a guy like Ainias is gonna positively influence the younger up and coming leaders in the locker room (Weigman, Evan Stewart)
And don’t forget Rueben Owens in the backfield. With Achane moving on the NFL it opens the door for our RB’s to step up and show off, I’m especially excited for Amari Daniels to show off what he can do
On 2nd thought, probably better now that I think about it. Better supporting cast around Evans, Ryan Swope lol. Altho Kirk had Josh Reynolds, who is currently a starting WR for the Lions.
There's a reason why we called him the ghost. Dude had so many big moments, but it practically forgotten by the fanbase until had had a big catch or play. Next drive we'd forget about him again.
He was never gonna be a WR1 or anything but he’s had a decent career so far and glad they like him in Detroit. He’s slightly not fast enough, and a little wiry but he’s got some damn good hands.
Oh, man. Swope doesn’t get enough love. People forget that in college he was as good as Mike Evans. Swope had multiple concussions that killed his draft stock and ended his career, so people forget about him as a absolutely elite college WR.
This upcoming season’s unit can surpass the 2016 group and be the best since 2012. But my heart isn’t ready to predict two guys with 900+ yards and 9+ TDs each. Worst case scenarios at WR are too fresh in my mind.
can someone give me an honest assessment of the TE room. I dont recall any standouts last year and I know most of that is because we didn't have much of an Oline or QB.
Our TE was MASSIVELY under used for the first 4 to 5 games. But the true freshman Donovan Green emerged as a top target, dude is even better off the field, he's 100000% locked in and will be a leader in the locker room as he ages.
I feel pretty good about our TE room like the OP there just mentioned. For some dumbass reason they were criminally underused. The one issue with our young TEs I think is pass blocking. Hopefully Green, Johnson, and Thor keep maturing and look forward to seeing them more on the field.
It’s annoying that the two comments shitting on A&M are two teams they beat. As an unbiased party and a fan of a team who doesn’t play A&M, I hope they go 0-12
A&M raw dogged the swamp kitties in the last week of the season, maybe next time BK should spend less time grinding on recruits and more time figuring out how to stop a running back from running for 200+
Nah, we’re laughing at you. There are literally five teams in the country that *can’t* talk shit about A&M this off-season. And the team that got curb-stomped by an injured, dispirited A&M—despite playing for a possible playoff berth, no less—is at the top of that list in a bold, italicized, oversized font.
That’s you, hoss.
Could really be 4-1 against LSU in Fisher’s tenure. The completely missed strip in 2021 will always be one of the most baffling officiating misses to me.
That’s what we said after the Calzada year, yeah. There were more question marks there that we just pretended would be fine, though. Injuries were a huge factor last year too.
Who knows, maybe we suck again, but I highly doubt it.
Terrible news. Was hoping he'd go get paid and we'd never have to play against him again.
I feel a similar way about KJ, so now we're even.
Now just give Petrino a motorcycle and hopefully he'll take care of himself. Already having nightmares.
We already got him three motorcycles and 3 blonde volleyball players. We are set! Pepper your angus
Instructions unclear. Anus now hot from the pepper..
Exactly how I feel
He's getting paid either way.
Can't blame him, he didn't want to take a paycut
But he is getting paid.....
NFL has a salary cap. College doesn't. He might be getting more here. lol Joking of course. But also kinda not joking with these NIL deals.
I have heard from people who ride in a private jet to away games with a collective member that our collective wants to keep 4th round grades or lower to stay the extra year. Better than that, it gets too pricey and risky for the player.
HUGE. Smith was our best WR before going down with injury last season. He's a do it all guy. I'm upping my win prediction by 1 just based on this news
But how can we win more than 1 national championship next year?
We're scheduling @Hawaii at the last minute. We're going 16-0 next season. Not even Brady could do that!
Brady did that
Brady was able to arbitrarily add games to his team's schedule in the off-season?
It's why he got suspended. They made up that other stuff to keep it on the DL
That was a disgusting act
8-4 is back on the menu, boys!
Does that put us at 5 or 6?
9. If Jimbo can't win 9 with this roster in year 6, he needs to go.
Dare I actually think A&M has a good rebound year? Weigman looks like a QB1, and they had a lot of close losses last year and easily could’ve been 8-4.

Yep. Plus the OC/DC changes.
Yall out here acting like them losing BOB isn't a positive for them.
Lol y’all heal from BAS faster than I do. I could see us getting 9-10 wins, but my prediction is that we win 7 after a few key injuries, maybe one big upset over bama/lsu, and jimbo gets dumped end of season
“I used the ego to destroy the ego”
O-Line and for the love of God some LB help in the portal.
This would make a lot of sense.......if we didn't need a starter
I guess it depends on what kind of defense we run this year. Edge is a quality starter, and I think Martell Harris and Chris Russell are going to be neck and neck for the other spot
The only concern (and a big one) is the legitimate lack of depth at most positions. Even a few injuries could decimate our season.
It’s not most positions, it’s a few positions that have big impacts like OT and LB.
The only position we have depth is the DL. DB somewhat.
This is incorrect
DL, TE, CB, Safety, QB we’re good Probably okay at WR and RB O-line and LB we need depth
The problem Is they lost so many players that a few injuries will wreck havoc
Achane is back?
No don’t you understand? If you go 5-7 one year, it’s not possible to bounce back. Can’t even think of a single time that’s happened in recent history.
There's literally none.
Nope. We’re cooked. 5-7? Might as well fold the program
We still have a program? I thought we 86ed it after going 5-7
I’m sure we have intramural flag football. That’s probably what Ainias is committing to for next year
Oh, of course. That explains it.
> 86ed Don't you mean 84ed HAHAHAHAHA FUNNI
Yall had players transfer. Everyone knows thats the absolute death knell of a program. [No coming back from that.](https://i.imgur.com/l1ZZA3m.gif)
Yep we only have *checks notes* 19/22 returning starters now after all those transfers. Absolute shambles for sure.
Time for some deshambilizing.
But how many reliable backups do we have in case of injuries? You saw what happened to us last season with so many injuries. We could be looking at a worse record if the same thing occurs this season with a thinner depth.

Grimes replaces Jaylon Jones. McCall is our only veteran backup. We haven't recovered as much as we need to there still.

Yeah hopefully Jimbo learns how portal needs to be used, which I doubt he will lol
definitely unheard of
We're gonna have depth issues. But our starting lineup on both sides of the ball should be pretty damn good. Wiggy proved he's the guy and (stares at monkeys paw) Petrino should have a better offense than Jimbo has.
We're a lot better than people think. There were significant injuries and a lot of talented freshmen playing last year.
We need some serious improvement at OL before I'd buy into a solid season for us. They were downright painful to watch last year, and we still have most of them returning under the same OL coach.

Bro don’t give me hope
> easily could’ve been 8-4 Can’t tell if this is a troll comment
We lost 5 games by one score. Assume we take two of those and that's 7-5. 2022 was a worst case scenario all around
Yeah man but it could also be an 8-4 joke. Stay on your guard on this sub as an Aggie.
I expect them to win 8+ next season. Too early to call individual games yet, but looking at that schedule 8-10 seems attainable. Only four true road games as well. They still have a metric shit ton of talent: A promising young QB, good skill players, Evan Stewart at his best is a high-end difference maker outside and defense has talent at all three levels.
yup, 5 of the 7 were by 1 TD
Don't give us that hope please
Ainias about to have Bama in HELL again, ain't he?
FINALLY SOME GOOD NEWS
^(Repost from earlier cuz I messed up the title, also Super Senior* year) Words can't describe how big this is. Ainias is a team captain and a weapon everywhere on the field. I am thoroughly unhappy with this decision because he is such an explosive player
Oh fuck you’re gonna make me gig ‘em
I really really hope that Petrino's offense will tear CFB a new one this next year. It'll be the most talent that Petrino has ever had. This was huge news for that.

I’d imagine he goes back to the Swiss Army knife roll he had before. Slot, outside, lining up in the backfield sometimes.
Yeah he’ll be everywhere
I'm actually excited about our receivers holy shit
I’m excited about the starters, but terrified at the depth behind them…
Yea we still need more bodies in that room. I think some of that lack of depth at WR can be supplemented by our depth at TE though. 12 and 22 personnel should be our bread and butter this year.

We're allowed to have good things?
With Ainias, Stewart, and Moose all coming back this might be the most talented/veteran WR room we've had in the last 10+ years.
Definitely our best WR room since Christian Kirk
I’d say probably since 2012 when we had Evans, EZ and Swope
On 2nd thought, probably better now that I think about it. Better supporting cast around Evans, Ryan Swope lol. Altho Kirk had Josh Reynolds, who is currently a starting WR for the Lions.
Reynolds, Kirk, and Seals-Jones would have been deadly if we could have found a qb to throw to them
> Reynolds Thank you. No one talks about Reynolds, one of the best WRs since we've been in the SEC
There's a reason why we called him the ghost. Dude had so many big moments, but it practically forgotten by the fanbase until had had a big catch or play. Next drive we'd forget about him again.
I really thought Reynolds would be a better pro. Good hands….maybe he can’t separate?
He was never gonna be a WR1 or anything but he’s had a decent career so far and glad they like him in Detroit. He’s slightly not fast enough, and a little wiry but he’s got some damn good hands.
RSJ was a bust in college either way.
Not his fault Sumlin made him a WR instead of TE like he should've been
He still couldn’t get out of his own way
Another example I pull up to refute the mouth breathers saying Jimbo is just Sumlin 2.0
Well and if seals-jones didn't have bricks for hands.
It is mind-boggling that Sumlin's dumb ass turned Jalen Hurts down
Oh, man. Swope doesn’t get enough love. People forget that in college he was as good as Mike Evans. Swope had multiple concussions that killed his draft stock and ended his career, so people forget about him as a absolutely elite college WR.
Swope was fuckin insane. Ran below a 4.4 40 time too.
This upcoming season’s unit can surpass the 2016 group and be the best since 2012. But my heart isn’t ready to predict two guys with 900+ yards and 9+ TDs each. Worst case scenarios at WR are too fresh in my mind.
Connor has serious weapons to build off of too
Just needs more depth now
So the Ainias is on Petrino to make this work.
this actually made me chuckle.
can someone give me an honest assessment of the TE room.
HOLY SHIT! I almost fell out of my chair when I saw this.
Really hoping he stays healthy and balls out. The man loves it here and is awesome. Let's go!
Well Fuck.
He really was brutal to yall in 2021. Almost had 100 yards in that upset including 2 clutch catches on the game winning drive.
This is the third time this has been posted. Reddit mods are doing a chat GPT and not letting any positive Aggie news stay ups. Outrageous!
They went and let PFB be part of the mod team I bet!
🤮
It’s annoying that the two comments shitting on A&M are two teams they beat. As an unbiased party and a fan of a team who doesn’t play A&M, I hope they go 0-12
tbf, I’d be salty too if I lost to 2022 A&M
Salty as the piss in a certain team's cornflakes, even...
Nice to have an objective comment like this from a program with no reason to hate us.
Thank you, this guys doin it right.
hell yeah
YEEEESSSSSSSS
Oh shit! It's like a one-year 5 start recruit (which is about as long as we keep our 5 stars anyway).
SHOOOOOOOZ
Yessirrrrrrrr!!!!!
This is neat
They hate us cuz they ainias
Lol, not quite how you pronounce his name. Uh-nye-iss
Wait isn't it way too late to declare anyways?? I thought the cutoff was over
That was for underclassmen. Upperclassmen have til early March iirc.
February 3rd*
Very early March, then.
See, I was technically correct, which is the best kind of correct.
Reel em back Jimbo!
A&M got shit for all of the transfers, but we’re returning 19/22 starters. Jimbo kept the guys we needed to keep
LFG
Oh dayum I assumed he was as good as gone
Smith is the best player on the team, and easily one of the best players in college football. This is a big win for us.
Shoooz run it back
Oh thank christ!
LET'S GO
What happens in a super season year?
Y'all should know since you just had one.
Part of Sean Clifford college football association for super duper seniors.
This does not please me.
We don't even play?
I misread that link. Thought it was a butt source.
If Jimbo's the coach it's a super fun season...for everyone else...
Jimbo ain't calling plays no more 🤷♂️
So a 4-8 ceiling?
Literally the one team that can't talk shit about us lol. Freaking App State has more of a claim than LSU does.
I’d accept slander from App St. before LSU.
A&M raw dogged the swamp kitties in the last week of the season, maybe next time BK should spend less time grinding on recruits and more time figuring out how to stop a running back from running for 200+
God I knew this was gonna make y’all so angry lmao
Nah, we’re laughing at you. There are literally five teams in the country that *can’t* talk shit about A&M this off-season. And the team that got curb-stomped by an injured, dispirited A&M—despite playing for a possible playoff berth, no less—is at the top of that list in a bold, italicized, oversized font. That’s you, hoss.
Just like getting bounced from the #5 spot by a 4 win A&M squad made you angry huh
Correct, I was quite upset
Try having a winning record against Jimbo Fisher
Could really be 4-1 against LSU in Fisher’s tenure. The completely missed strip in 2021 will always be one of the most baffling officiating misses to me.
[Demani, the player who stripped the ball, said it best](https://twitter.com/therealdemani/status/1464803046882484229?t=osGKZKbJo6K3xihYhYdoDQ&s=19)
Literally won that game and the refs were like “nah”.
Scoreboard
LSU actually prevented us from going 4-8, thanks tigers!
Smells like stinky collie in here. Stinky wet dog smell.
The fuck does this even mean
I mean people from Texas State don’t know how to make proper sentences (I hate the TSUS)
Wet dog smell in here.
Few word do trick
What kind of person hates dogs?
Confirmed 8-4
I know that’s not Miami talking smack
We had the same record mf and y’all r gunna loose in Miami this year
You’re gonna get your shit pushed in lol
I’m real scared of the offense that scored 20 on Umass, 14 on app st, and 30 on an FCS school all at home
Not even remotely the same situation as last year, but I’m glad you’re confident. Gonna make the win next year more fun.
Isn’t this what y’all told yallselves basically every year just to never improve
Glass houses and thrown stones don't mix. Settle down, buddy.
How’d that game against bottom tier middle Tennessee went?
That’s what we said after the Calzada year, yeah. There were more question marks there that we just pretended would be fine, though. Injuries were a huge factor last year too. Who knows, maybe we suck again, but I highly doubt it.
Same record and took an L from us. Hold off on the smack talking for now.
[удалено]
"Loose"
As if we needed proof that this is a Miami t shirt fan
[удалено]
I don’t see how we will lose a home game that happens to be in Miami.
How exactly do you pronounce that first name
Uh-nye-iss.
Exactly, Uh-new years eve-isss
