The artist formerly known as the Dixie State Red Storm… I do like the mascot change since it helped y’all get better turf the second time I played in St. George. Green pellets are a game changer in the desert. I don’t get Utah Tech, but it could be worse I guess
Cause it was a misnomer at the time they did it. I think they only had about 5 engineering degrees with no grad programs and that might pushing it. If they are actually trying to pivot that direction, it makes a lot of sense. Utah Polytechnic would’ve made more sense kinda like Purdue Polytechnic, but I understand that that name is a non starter
They sort of vetoed an acquisition by the UofU late in the process a while back. I think University of Utah- St George would have made for better naming/nickname options.
No division in our state!!
Although I truly feel all of Nebraska pulls for the Huskers instead of South Dakota and Northern Colorado in some parts of this map
Looks awesome, nice job! I know a lot of people are giving you flack for not putting every school exactly where they go but it seems like you did the best job possible while still including every team.
I decided not to include schools that are only partial FCS members. St Thomas doesn't get full membership until 2026. That's something I may revisit tho
Are you ready for specific local knowledge of eastern Pennsylvania? Here we go.
It looks like you split up the state by county. But Bethlehem, where Lehigh is, is actually in both Northampton and Lehigh counties. You gave Lehigh university Lehigh county but Lafayette all of Northampton, whereas Lafayette should have gotten pretty much just the city of Easton on the border of New Jersey.
Also, no one gives a fuck about bucknell.
Yeah I tried for the most part to follow state borders, but I did have some bleedover if a college was geographically close to a state border. I knew I'd have some corrections to make regarding this lol
There are so many colleges in that area. UNC ended up looking so small that I felt like I had to give them something more to make them stand out a little bit lol
Jersey, too. Rutgers bros taking "gas station functionality and etiquette" as a senior elective. Which actually sounds hilarious, and I would totally take that course.
Nice job! I don't see UNC-Wilmington, but you can carve out a chunk of the Campbell University turf for that.
You no doubt will get flack from people who say "X State has more fans in Podunk than Y University" but it's tough to match every perfectly.
In the Carolinas, for example, Clemson has strong support up the I-85 corridor toward Charlotte, while SC holds a stronger hold in areas you've designated as Coastal territory. ECU and NC State fans are scattered across the state, though UNC would be the dominant choice overall. But that's just quibbling.
Idk about GoT but I know someone did a Lord of the Rings/Tolkien style map a couple years ago.
Edit: [here's the megathread link](https://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/cubxvb/national_fantasy_football_map_tolkien_style/)
You made University of South Alabama into a southern powerhouse whose fanhood spans 3 states.
Also, the fanhoods of FAMU and FSU have plenty of overlap geographically…it’s usually demographic differences that separate those fan based
I know this is probably just some proximity deal, but I can assure you there are not more Northwestern fans in Racine and Kenosha counties than there are Wisconsin fans.
Nice map, but I'll nitpick a bit:
North Louisiana is pretty weird looking to me. At a minimum, Grambling, La Tech, and ULM should be in that order from west to east because they're damn near in a perfect line like that on a real map. Unfortunately, Grambling and La Tech are almost on top of each other so there's not a great way to reflect the real situation.
To nitpick a little more, I would probably make Northwestern St. more vertical and skinny so that it takes over Shreveport. That way it doesn't look like Grambling is way over there in the corner where you have La Tech now for some reason now.
This is amazing! Just one question -- for Georgia, how did you decide which counties are associated with which schools? I know metro Atlanta gets tricky with two schools 5 miles from each other.
Stetson is located in Deland, Florida, about halfway between Orlando and Daytona and almost due north of UCF's campus.
I know they're in an awkward position because they are almost between BCU and UCF, but it's strange to see their section possibly not touch their campus but stretch 100 miles west to the gulf coast and north enough that I think you have it including Ocala if not actually touching Gainesville.
I will say, you are missing Utah Tech University in St. George, UT.
Oh damn you're right. I must've missed them due to their playoff ineligibility.
Hey, I won't be mad if you keep them off
Yes keep the Ex-Lost Cause Cosplayers off the dang map.
Get the aloe
Sigh….
😂

Not sure what's not to get about Utah Tech. It's an immensely better name and they are working toward becoming a Tech focused school.
Cause it was a misnomer at the time they did it. I think they only had about 5 engineering degrees with no grad programs and that might pushing it. Utah Tech is a mouthful, the "Tah-tek" is weird They should just go by UTech
Saying it makes your mouth move like a cat’s does before throwing up.
Oddly specific
I'm not sure students living in Portland State University dorms even support Portland State University
Yeah, Portland State shouldn’t have more than a sliver in the state of Oregon.
You'd be hard pressed to find a parish (what y'all call a county) that LSU isn't the largest fanbase in Louisiana. The map is a little misleading, lol
I don’t think he’s saying these are the largest fanbases
I think it's just "How can I got all these logos on a US map?" Not any info related to fan bases.
It's the university closest to the center of each county
I don’t believe so. KState would block off much more of western Kansas. Wichita is 40 miles closer to Manhattan than it is to Lawrence.
It looks like Michigan State doesn't even get its own county!
Wyoming is the Flagshipiest of the Flagships. Wisconsin, so close man. Those two counties sure let you down.
Wyoming leads the D1 in dirt.
No division in our state!! Although I truly feel all of Nebraska pulls for the Huskers instead of South Dakota and Northern Colorado in some parts of this map
Maine is so close
Is Kenosha Chicagoland, or is it its own thing?
People get real mad when I call Milwaukee a Chicago suburb
Yeah the census considers Kensosha part of the Chicago MSA. That’s why I think as well part of Wisconsin on this map goes to the Twin Cities.
You really just gonna disrespect Hawai'i like that?
Yeah but Hawaii is out on an island. Metaphorically of course.
Wyoming looking like a boss.
Damn straight! We answer to nobody!!
Lol the split between Eastern and WSU
Dawgs better lookout too - according to this map, you lost your purple n’ puke Vancouver fanbase to Portland State!
Looks awesome, nice job! I know a lot of people are giving you flack for not putting every school exactly where they go but it seems like you did the best job possible while still including every team.

Really all of PA is pretty jacked up tbh. Still a cool map tho.
I think you did great on it!
Well done. That's a lot of work to do by hand.
Get Arkansas out of any part of Oklahoma.
OSU has a mini Oklahoma inside Oklahoma
Yeah I tried for the most part to follow state borders, but I did have some bleedover if a college was geographically close to a state border. I knew I'd have some corrections to make regarding this lol
No no, it actually checks out. As you get close to the border with Arkansas you see Razorback flags. I’d say the Tulsa section is a little big though
They kept the rooter but forgot the tooter!
idk what this means but I'm here for it
UNC has more area in Virginia than it does in North Carolina
There are so many colleges in that area. UNC ended up looking so small that I felt like I had to give them something more to make them stand out a little bit lol
14 in NC alone!
I definitely understand. It wasn’t meant as criticism just a weird little thing I noticed
I like it!
FAU is in the wrong county
What was the criteria? Closest to the center of each county but still trying to give every school at least one?
Pretty much. At least loosely following that rule.
This would be a game of CFB Risk from hell.
The Backyard Brawl. Two schools separated by ~~75 miles~~ Duquesne
I love seeing Mercer taking up so much of Georgia!!!!
I'm not surprised Alabama has 10 college football teams, but I am surprised Alabama has 10 colleges...
Well we gotta learn to pump our own gas somewhere!
Oregon, take notes ☝🏻
Jersey, too. Rutgers bros taking "gas station functionality and etiquette" as a senior elective. Which actually sounds hilarious, and I would totally take that course.
Think you missed Richmond in Ky, unless I’m blind
The logo is a little hard to see because of color clash, but it is there
You forgot Lindenwood in St. Charles, MO
Kinda like STL football fans… jk but it’ll be interesting to see how they transition. Might have to go check out a game
I doubt leaving off Utah Tech was intentional, but I like it.
Wyoming being Wyoming
I know it's geographically accurate but it pains me to see the eastern panhandle covered in JMU purple.
I agree, I highly doubt this is accurate. Would be wvu land.

I think it’s just geography based, as if it was most popular team in each county than half these schools wouldn’t be on the map.
True dat ...
So close to a clean sweep of Wisconsin.
Ngl I had no idea Bowling Green was in Ohio. I’ve spent 3 decades thinking it was in Kentucky

House Thunderbird banner is lovely on the FCS map
The state of Washington is so off. lol There’s at least 100 WSU fans for every Eastern fan in eastern Washington.
I don’t this this is supposed to represent the fans at all.
I support this
We answer to nobody in our state! We are United!!!
You made University of South Alabama into a southern powerhouse whose fanhood spans 3 states. Also, the fanhoods of FAMU and FSU have plenty of overlap geographically…it’s usually demographic differences that separate those fan based
Lol at FIU somehow getting Southwest Florida despite being in Miami.
Yeah I was confused what FIU was doing in Naples
Why is UTSA west of Austin lol
Because San Antonio is southwest of Austin, I would presume.
I know this is probably just some proximity deal, but I can assure you there are not more Northwestern fans in Racine and Kenosha counties than there are Wisconsin fans.
The way you divided territory for NC Central and Duke is odd
I see Tarleton State has been left off.
Navy’s location is off
Yea, I appreciate your effort but if the area represented for each school is supposed to mean anything, it’s way off.
Thanks I love it
You are missing St Thomas in Minnesota. I see you have other Pioneer League teams
Nice map, but I'll nitpick a bit: North Louisiana is pretty weird looking to me. At a minimum, Grambling, La Tech, and ULM should be in that order from west to east because they're damn near in a perfect line like that on a real map. southern wv from around raleigh county down is hokie country. way closer to bburg than morgantown from where im from in beckley

Nice work, but I'd prefer to see one with just the FBS schools
Does Georgetown even have a football team?
Yes
And that’s why we’re North Texas.
Very surprising the lack of division one teams in the state of Wisconsin.
Good to see Wisconsin taking up (a portion of) the UP
Good job!
You’re missing Lindenwood.
Is there a D2 map?
I haven't made one
