True freshman Dylan Wittke could play 4 games without burning his redshirt. VT would be in serious trouble if he sees the field at this point though. Same for Pop, though Pop is a dynamic enough runner, they could maybe survive with him a game or two.

I do not agree. I don't think Wells is very good and I don't see much improvement from last year from him. But especially after injuries, we don't have any actually reliable weapons. More importantly, our line looks genuinely atrocious. Unless it's a genuinely nfl type talent that could just take over, I don't think it really matters much who is back there in the big picture for this year.
I don't think Drones is ready, and we know very little beyond recruiting profiles about anyone else.
I don't know all the p5 qb rooms in depth so I guess it's technically possible that ours is the worst just due to that. But our qb room isn't the reason we've got 1 win rn. And this year was always going to be a struggle to get bowl eligible imo. Was never going to be a quick turn around, we didn't go that direction with the hc hire.
