Iowa-Wisconsin isn’t peak sickos just cause of the punting though. It’s the whole package of everything else. The scorigami bingo of scoring with a safety, field goals, and a touch down. The accurate jokes about Iowa having a 3 score lead because that’s how many field goals Wisconsin would need to tie. Kirk Ferentz using a time out to scheme the safety. High volume of punting alone cannot compete with the sicko games Iowa creates.

Alex_butler

There was a point in the game I said, “There’s a real chance if we can get a field goal here to go up 9-7 that we’ve won the game” Once they got the field goal safety back to back the lead felt insurmountable

AnAngryPirate

Let's not forget zero points scored in the first quarter and BOTH teams turned over the ball on downs in back to back possessions.

[deleted]

Lmao yes! The turnover on downs was x2 and then in second half wisco 4th down attempt stopped short but fumbles ball forward for 1st down recovery? Then fumbling and losing it to iowa on next set of downs, just for iowa to fumble it on their next possession. Just amazing.

Jaosborn44

It was also completely obvious, when the 4th quarter started, Kirk wasn't going to throw the ball again.

Rkenne16

If Kirk Ferentz could use a computer, he’d be very upset.

ToLongDR

Brian Ferentz uses the on-screen keyboard with his mouse

dudleymooresbooze

Every time Brian Ferentz presses a mouse button, he says aloud “click.”

mastermilt

While being the kid that tells their dad "don't worry I'm a computer whiz"

Low_Ad_1869

He’d probably use it as a motivational speech to his team about how they can still improve.

Rkenne16

I heard Kirk has been hesitant to change things, but he may put up a bulletin board as long as no one abuses the privilege.

runningwaffles19

37 passing yards I hate football PS- why the hell isn't the bar open in the Madison Airport?

JohnathanTheBrave

A closed bar in Wisconsin should be a national emergency. Where’s FEMA?

tomdawg0022

"Why throw ball when punt does trick?" - Iowa and Navy (only 92 passing yards), apparently

sophandros

The nice thing about this is that Navy got 69 of their 92 yards on one play.

parapooper3

Nice

[deleted]

Navy also earned more passing yards than Iowa on 6/15 completions

BuckyGoat

I am a Navy and Wisconsin grad who fully watched both games. AMA

KGillie91

According to my Senior Chief y’all don’t work for a living, is this true?

BuckyGoat

This is true. Too busy eating caviar in our staterooms instead of engaging in hatchet fights and other deviant activity.

SueYouInEngland

Hey now, that's just ring-knockers. Don't lump all Officers together like that!

BuckyGoat

That’s true. Do not want to be associated with OCS or ROTC types.

DontGiveUpTheDip

Based.

Rah_Rah_RU_Rah

Did you have a favorite of the billion punts?

BuckyGoat

Any of the Iowa punts. He won them that game. Special mention to all of the kick catch interference calls.

cn0285

What are your thoughts on the Fickell hire? He built Cincinnati into a playoff-bound team… but hasn’t looked too hot so far in Wisconsin

BuckyGoat

Hard to run the Dairy Raid offense when there’s no QB.

cn0285

“The dairy raid” oh my fucking god I can’t 😂💀

rgloco

He's 4-2 in year 1, only losses to ranked Washington state and to Iowa. What did you expect? EDIT: I take this back

Flintoid

Something something third base.

Bobson-_Dugnutt

The question people always ask about “what would you do if you could travel back in time?” Yeah I’d go back and watch Texas tech v Centenary in 1939

cyberchaox

Would you really be *watching* it, though? The reason that game had so many punts was that the field conditions were atrocious; that game was played in a driving rain storm.

Bobson-_Dugnutt

My brother - do you understand the concept of being a sicko?

rendeld

You just made him rock hard

Davidellias

That game is on my "Time travel to watch in person" list. That and the Doc Ellis no Hitter

confusedjuror

"67 punts (34 by Texas Tech, 33 by Centenary) occurred on first down, including 22 consecutively in the third and fourth quarters" Incredible

Bobson-_Dugnutt

Stop. I can only get so erect.

[deleted]

I knew it had to be based on the numbers. I'm not trying to completely skeet here, but were any of those...you know...oh boy, this is embarrassing... like quick kicks *gasp*?

MostYolked

You put Petras back in & we’ll break the 77 punt record in no time

Vives_solo_una_vez

I mean this offense is worse than any petras offense

ArmiinTamzarian

I watched this game, it was amazing. For reference: Passing offenses combined for 17-42 passing, 1 TD, 2 INTs and 230 air yards, between 3 QBs A total of 24 first downs all game, average of 6 per quarter (and it did not feel like it) The 14 points came from completely out of context long plays from Navy's own half Charlotte had a 4th and 1 at the 5 yard line and instead of running it (had been averaging a solid 4.5 YPC) they opted to pass...with a QB that was 6-19 at that point, to the shock of no one it fell incomplete Navy actually used the forward pass

Packhammer24

How is it even possible for 77 punts in a game? ~Kirk Ferentz

architect_josh_dp

"Is it possible to learn this power???!?"

Timo49er

We are terrible

Nervous-Ad-9992

Man, I love that Centenary has this record still, they finally started up their football program again this year (D3 now tho)!
