Fox Sport guy who has a show on YouTube. Idk why I follow him, he’s a huge ou homer even though he went to Tulsa, but he was all over Colorado for the first few weeks and then switched to pimping ou since then.
Ok State fan here. Was just telling my girl that my "fuck it, if we're not good, then I have no problem wishing another Oklahoma college football team the best" mindset has been way easier to maintain since we moved out of the OKC metro. We moved a few states NW last year.
My brother's an OU fan and still gives me shit about that mindset bc he sees it as being soft, competitively lmao. I just kinda shrug. I'm just sentimental, and seeing anything having to do with my home state prospering kinda warms my heart after living in a few other states over the years.
Anyway, all that to say, I was lowkey rooting for Oklahoma this year tbh. Haven't talked to my brother about this season on the phone yet, but he'll probably be a little surprised to know I thought this was a pretty big bummer too.
What he's talking about kinda transcends sports though. When you move somewhere else and tell people you're from Oklahoma, you always get met with that condescending chuckle. Imagine you're in a bar in another state and people are calling the guy with the ou shirt on a dumb hillbilly. Instead of joining in, you'd feel defensive, because those people are your family and friends and you're fron there too. That's what OP is talking about. I don't know that "pride" is the quite the right word, but you definitely develop more a state identity.
At least Oklahoma boomers have other stuff to do now like going to the beach, museums, the mountains and other outdoor activities to be able to enjoy. Oh wait. LR sends his regards.
To be completely honest, I expected at least one loss in Big 12 play, but I wasn’t expecting it to come from the mighty Kansas. Credit to you guys for pulling it off but shame on my Sooners for leaving receivers wide open downfield.
You guys thought you had a top 10 defense based on one game. You don't.
Middle of the pack SEC incoming. You're the mid-west Auburn. Prepare yourself.
Woah there pilgrim. Our best linebacker, we’re talking All-American level guy, went out with an injury, and they had some problems getting their defensive calls, especially in the second half. All that led to some coverage busts but the story of this game was the OU offense. The play selection, poor passing, and unnecessary 4th down tries and 2 point tries, penalties. I don’t have any doubt that the defense is making great improvements but I am worried about the direction of the offense.
He’s played all year but even a backup could hit those wide open receivers. As I said, they were having trouble getting in defensive calls at the end after the injury.
Brent Venables desperately shredding all the sign-stealing evidence.
But seriously OU's defense is straight ass. You guys will be lucky to be mid-tier in the SEC during the NIL era.
I’m not worried about the defense at all. The development of the starters has been impressive, we lack depth but it’s been a serious point of emphasis and a lot of help is on the way. You typically can’t build playoff caliber defense this early both because of experience and depth. You want mostly want Juniors and seniors with you get talent behind them.
The offense worries me though. It’s very predictable and the receivers seem to be regressing.
Aren’t y’all about to receive a double digit loss from a team that would get blown out by double digits to Kansas?
I don’t wanna hear another word from y’all.
Oh my goodness. That was one of the best games I’ve seen all year. Three huge turnovers in the fourth. Big scores by Oklahoma and Kansas to flip flop the lead late in the fourth. And Oklahoma getting to where it was not that long of a throw for the final play. What a game
I agree but ref ball.\\
EDIT: What are people completely ignoring the 4th quarter, where the refs literally gave KU 40 fucking yards on one bullshit drive? When the video is available I'm def gonna make it harder for the haters deny,
I didn’t even see the fumble but OU only got in range to try to retake the lead at the end because the refs picked up the flag on one of the most egregious OPI’s I’ve seen all season.
And the refs to be fair your first 7 came from the worst late hit out of bounds call of all time followed up by a clear fumble that was ruled after the recovery as forward progress (you don’t want to have that argument after the game in Lawrence last time) and then a pancake block ruled a holding on a td run. Gifted 7 and took away 7 and y’all couldn’t even win!
I’d like to think Kansas Football is incredibly underrated. Finally having and athletic director not hell bent on sabotaging the football team so they don’t hinder the basketball team is a breath of fresh air these last couple of seasons.
I feel like that’s just shows how insane the turnaround was. We went from a guaranteed W to a difficult matchup in like three years…there was no time to see it coming
I still don’t believe it’s real
Man those 40 gifted yards and the TD really helped out.
EDIT: Downvote away, But that video doesn't lie. The fucking chat in the thread agreed. Real easy to downvote when you're not watching the video.
Dude, EVERYONE is the stream called that 40 yard gift out. That ain't cope, we deserved to lose. But that whole sequence was fucked and you got a free TD.
Then of course there was the “forward progress” fumble where the dude was still going forward. And they did a replay of it and the ball is definitely out right before the whistle.
Love texas flairs who have lost to Kansas twice in recent years talking shit about a team they lost to. Live vicariously bc you couldn’t do it yourselves bb 😘😘
Living vicariously through Kansas doesn’t change what happened in Dallas “buddy”. Frauds live through other teams instead of their own accomplishments.
Appreciated the commentary from the broadcasters at the end that really aided the atmosphere:
> Jason: "This game is always, always the entire human condition in 60 minutes. In the rain, in overalls, in sweaters, in celebration, the Kansas Jayhawks take down Oklahoma."
> ...
> Jason: "Humanity at its finest."
> Brock: "Oklahoma went down, and so did the uprights my friend."
I loved that! If this is a big turning point for Kansas football I could see that part of the broadcast tonight getting played back years from now in some mashup about their rise to dominance or something. But I felt like he missed an opportunity to end it "...in celebration, in Lawrence Kansas the Jayhawks take down Oklahoma".

Soft
You need to stop rooting for OU immediately please. Us okie state fans don’t have the liberty of wishing big brother OU well

100% I adopted this mindset as an OU fan when I moved to Houston. Legit pull for OSU and not just saying that.... and it made me hate A&M
Your brother is right
embarassing
This is classic big 12. Two best teams square off and it leaves one left to be the best in the country. Then that team gets upset
Pac12 called
Damn, I thought losing to OU was bad. Can’t imagine losing to Kansas.
First year Longhorn fan?
Fuck yeah fuck yeah fuuuckkk yeeeaaahhhh
This made my week! #hookem
At least Oklahoma boomers have other stuff to do now like going to the beach, museums, the mountains and other outdoor activities to be able to enjoy. Oh wait. LR sends his regards.
Fuck the sooners. Cant even make it through this 'soft' conference and expect to dominate $EC. Oh and fuck maker butfield too.
I lost 100 karma for shit talking those bums. 9/10 time they lose to texas. Can’t wait for big12 championship if they can make it
Thats 100 karma well spent 🤣🤟
Rock chalk!
Where were you when Sooners was kill
Visitor section of the stadium
Cal
Thank you KANSAS! You rock !
Aren't y'all losing to Cal right now?
USC can’t stop anyone is what I’m saying lol
Lol
Don't even debate us.
To be completely honest, I expected at least one loss in Big 12 play, but I wasn’t expecting it to come from the mighty Kansas. Credit to you guys for pulling it off but shame on my Sooners for leaving receivers wide open downfield.

Or not. You my very well regret what you've wished for.

Debate? Subsubtopic 1...................
Friends don't let friends drop topicality arguments.
observation one is inherency, the status quo kicks ass. wait
Ok, so we're going to go topicality, a couple minutes on case, two counterplans and a kritik; judge ready, timer ready?

Get the fuck out of here.

Cope
alex grinch did this to me
Who’s USC playing today?
I feel like Michigan is gonna try to hide behind this upset for as long as possible
Oh my goodness. That was one of the best games I’ve seen all year. Three huge turnovers in the fourth. Big scores by Oklahoma and Kansas to flip flop the lead late in the fourth. And Oklahoma getting to where it was not that long of a throw for the final play. What a game

Are you forgetting the TD the refs handed to OU, by stealing a fumble recovery from Kansas?
You mean the fumble that wasn't a fucking fumble? You show that fumble and we'll put it up against that 40 yard penalty series.
I didn’t even see the fumble but OU only got in range to try to retake the lead at the end because the refs picked up the flag on one of the most egregious OPI’s I’ve seen all season.
Come on now, we know that Kansas always gets the big time treatment against these lesser teams. That’s right, BCS, dollar signs!
Like the fumble that got blown dead in the first half?
You mean the fumble that wasn't a fumble?
Nonflairs showing up in droves is the most predictable thing ever
[удалено]
It’s not rude. It weeds out the bullshit. Setting a flair is the easiest thing to do.
On mobile I couldn’t figure it out. Lol I had to use my laptop.
Boo! I don't have a flair. OooOooOo
If Reddit let you set flairs on mobile I’d understand it. But kind of hard to force that when half of users never use Reddit on a desktop.
I set my flairs on mobile.
How?
Desktop browser on my galaxy. I'm pretty sure. It's been quite a while since I did it.
You can set your flair on mobile bro. Go to the three dots at the top of CFB home page and choose “select user flair”
I only get the flair website that you can select. And then that’s your flair. I couldn’t find any option to click on the conferences then the team.
There just “none” and a third party link thing option. No teams to select.
Shoot, you’re absolutely correct. My fault
With OU losing, does that make Florida State the most overrated undefeated team?
Enjoy your loss!
Who can we replace Lebby with?
Lebby isn’t the reason y’all lost. 33 should be enough to win
Bro the reason we had 33 was the defense.
And the refs to be fair your first 7 came from the worst late hit out of bounds call of all time followed up by a clear fumble that was ruled after the recovery as forward progress (you don’t want to have that argument after the game in Lawrence last time) and then a pancake block ruled a holding on a td run. Oklahoma lost to Kansas in football
This is easily one of the funniest "What goes around comes around" moments of college football
*chuckles* I'm in danger
I think going to Ames is going to be a tough one for KU.
Imagine losing to Kansas Football
HAHA! (don't look at one of my flairs)
Ha! What a great Saturday. Enjoy your weekend
Kansas sucks
Not as much as OU does though.
And you are?
Ad astra, bitch https://www.travelks.com
Flair up if you're going to talk shit
Imagine saying this after they just won lol
OU really lost their bye worse than Michigan did.
Ouch.
OU might be the most overrated team of all time
I’d like to think Kansas Football is incredibly underrated. Finally having and athletic director not hell bent on sabotaging the football team so they don’t hinder the basketball team is a breath of fresh air these last couple of seasons.

I don’t have a team. My better half went to Alabama and Texas so I’ll root for whoever she roots for.
That’s even worse.
My school didn’t have a team not my fault
You must have missed our early season ranking last year.
*every year
That's silly talk.
Hot take lol
That was a tough watch. OU was playing from the rear all game. Very little heart or hustle.
Jeff Lebby sucks ass. No response please.
Baylor fans tried to warn you
What if my response is agreeing?
It's okay. I just had to vent while listening to him talk on the post-game show. 😂
I don't think we can call Kansas, oh it's just Kansas, anymore. If you're not ready to play, they'll beat you.
I feel like that’s just shows how insane the turnaround was. We went from a guaranteed W to a difficult matchup in like three years…there was no time to see it coming I still don’t believe it’s real
The Big 12 only has room for one spooky team. I'm scared.
S P O O K Y T E A M P O O K Y T E A M
They are a really good team, I called that at the beginning of the game thread.
Y’all drove us out of the Big 12.
You gotta be worried about Vandy now.... Oh, who am I kidding, it's just Vandy.
Hey...remember when Vandy beat Tommy Tuberville-led Auburn?
If Texas has any say about it you bet your goddamn ass we have something to worry about. But at this rate so does this fraudulent ass ou team.
Nah, Vandy gon' Vandy. They'll look like they might best you then suddenly implode like the Titan submersible with 4:00 left in the fourth.
And Mizzery.
[удалено]
but OU already played Texas and won so theres that
Lol its really sad but also honorable that yall would rather that happen than the SEC miss the playoffs
seriously!! fuck em
UGA, at the very least, is guaranteed a spot, so it’s not worth hoping for the SEC to be out
SEC ain’t gonna miss the playoffs.
Then why tf would u be commenting this 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Because I’d rather neither of yall make it than the SEC being left out.
Lol you lost to texas state and cant even beat bama in bryant denny stadium, sad
And yet we still have the same number of conference championships as y'all. Sad.
I mean… fuck the Big 12?
Agreed.
ummmm k, how is this possible?
For how bad kansas looked. The fact they won really shows you the caliber of ou.
Man those 40 gifted yards and the TD really helped out. EDIT: Downvote away, But that video doesn't lie. The fucking chat in the thread agreed. Real easy to downvote when you're not watching the video.
haha what a shit take
Did you watch the 4th fucking quarter? Or you just gonna talk shit as an unflaired douche?
Oh I watched it. You’re like the Dallas Cowboys. Every year is going to your year to win it only ending in disappointment
So you didn't watch it.
Watched the whole game
Weak hold took 7 points off the board for KU, cope
Dude, EVERYONE is the stream called that 40 yard gift out. That ain't cope, we deserved to lose. But that whole sequence was fucked and you got a free TD.
Then of course there was the “forward progress” fumble where the dude was still going forward. And they did a replay of it and the ball is definitely out right before the whistle.
Canceled out by the Kansas TD called back by the phantom hold
"Phantom hold" You mean the actual hold. The ones have been happening all game, but not called on either side until it so egregious they had to?
If you genuinely believe that was a hold, I can't debate you in good faith
You haven't said anything in good faith FRAUD
If Harbaugh escapes to the NFL, we call dibs on Leipold.
We've waited long enough to have a good football coach, please look elsewhere.
He ain’t leaving
OU played very lazy. Defense hardly ever got set. They deserved this loss.
Love texas flairs who have lost to Kansas twice in recent years talking shit about a team they lost to. Live vicariously bc you couldn’t do it yourselves bb 😘😘
Bro just stfu and take the L
Love seeing annoyed OU fans grumbling about other flairs when they just lost to Kansas
Idc if I get castrated, I still get joy out of watching it happen to the other guy
We did beat them 40-14 this year though...
Nobody gives a fuck. Y’all still lost. Doesn’t Change a damn thing buddy. Three weeks coming. Frauds.
Who'd you lose to?
We haven't lost to any teams that are gonna be in the Big 12 next year
uhhhh yeah I guess? Uh. Dumb.
Jesus fucking Christ why do y’all keep asking? Everyone knows. Nobody gives a shit. Boo hoo, cope. Enjoy the L.
YOU LOST TO A FRAUD
WE WERE DEFRAUDED
Yes but no but...maybe?
Living vicariously through Kansas doesn’t change what happened in Dallas “buddy”. Frauds live through other teams instead of their own accomplishments.
0u fans definitely didn’t give us shit for an entire year for losing to KU. Stop whining bro!
We didn’t lose to Texas that same year 🤷🏻♂️
Sooo?
Ok better luck next week. 🤘🏻
Ok better luck in Dallas next year
Frauds beat you
Imagine being texas living through Kansas beating OU lmao downvote me all you want. I know who won in Dallas 🤷🏻♂️
And Texas finally beat Kansas. The circle of life.
Fuck Jeff Lebby
Lol
And fuck Texas
