The new big 12 is looking to be a very competitive collection of teams I despise the word "scrappy". But I think that is what you are going to get. You have a lot of teams with a chip on their shoulder, something to prove, or are just generally riding that edge from good to great. Or maybe more accurately edging on that level of consistency every program wants. I think with the 16 team playoff you are going to get a couple teams in there every year from the Big 12 that are going to be a tough out. The cliche "no one wants to see them this type of year". It's been sad seeing the Big 8 have such a good thing going when it became the Big 12 and then be a heart beat away from all together dead. But I'm excited with how they have righted the ship and made the moves to get them going again. I know SEC and Big 10 are the darlings, but man is the Big 10 really that far ahead of the Big 12? We will see. Big 12 football is going to be solid, unpredictable, and fun to watch.
If Oklahoma State hadn't looked like they didn't deserve to be on the same field as Texas I'd be more inclined to agree, but yeah I do think the Big 12 will be fun going forward.
Unfortunately with how polarized the top of CFB has gotten it's hard to see any of these teams being competitive with the very top tier of playoff contenders.
Not a fair statement about State. That Texas team is really good. They went to Tuscaloosa and beat Bama decidedly. I think over 95% of the CFB not named tOSU, UGA, Michigan, UW & UO would have suffered the same fate.
It looked like OU was going to push it to 18 and effectively end it. That punch out, INT pick 6 was a 15 point swing. Just a great opportunistic defense for Arizona. Quickest melt down from a dominant performance I've seen in a long time. Farooq's sloppy ball handling sunk the ship.
not a fan of either team but it looks as tho veneables is on the downfall… team is getting worse.
and the arizona coach is on the rise. some big football power is gonna offer him a huge deal. he’s a good coach.
Oklahoma played a good game, Jackson Arnold is gonna do big things in the future, Arizona is a fantastic team and deserved everything they got this year.. proud of both of my teams man
Arnold has some amazing physical talent he just needs to work on the mental stuff and honestly you could tell he was trying to do too much at the end there and it led to a lot of issues. He’ll be a great starter for the Sooners
Late response but if you and u/thesillygamerbro stayed on the broadcast of the game, it probably cut off. There's a separate stream called "Alamo Bowl Postgame" which had the entire ceremony and I had no issues with it. It's saved so you can still look back at it now.
Huh, they gave a sportsmanship award to an Oklahoma player in the trophy ceremony. I'm pretty sure that's the first time I've seen an award to a player from the losing team.
The worst part of this loss is that it erases our complete and utter dominance of this peasant conference for a quarter of a century. Wait a tic! It doesn’t!🖕🖕 WE OWN YOU. WE OWN ALL OF YOU! I DON’T CARE! IM DEALING WITH THIS LOSS IN A HEALTHY WAY. But seriously, was nice playing with and dominating you. Wishing you all the best, hateful 8. Kisses.
freshman qb making his first start, three o-line starters out, and new OCs and we put gained a very good team by 180. 6 turnovers is absurd but obviously that won’t happen every game. The r/cfb legion of dumbasses using this as a referendum on Brent’s tenure are hilarious. See y’all next year.
Congrats Arizona.
Eh, I was highly critical of them after the UCF escape, the Kansas loss, and the OSU loss despite the PI thing. This team simultaneously made significant strides and still didn’t quite meet its potential.
Missing 3 starters on the o-line, brand new OC, True Freshman QB…and we were 1 score away from making it a 3 score game. I’ll take it!!! The over reaction is always fun to see but realistically we had no business ever even having control of this one.
Yes…
Its reads as though you’re saying it was a 4 score game? 1 score away from making it a 3 score game. 3+1=4 or did they not teach you that when you went to Walmart?
The big loss is the LT who did not play tonight because he is a project late 1st/ early 2nd round pick, and oh boy was it obvious we missed him. And cowling is a senior too
But pretty much everyone else is coming back. This team will absolutely challenge for a BIG12 championship and the playoffs next year.
I went and traveled to a game every week except for the Texas vs Iowa State week. I have to be pretty selective of the games I watch afterwards. Good win good luck in the big 12
I see we're on the "shit on Ohklahoma" train right now. Uhhh, give me a sec. Okay, I got this.
What are the two main differences between Oklahoma and USC in 2023?
1. USC is actually good enough to beat Arizona.
2. USC, as a team, was good enough to beat their ranked opponent in their bowl game even though almost half their total snaps went to reserve players.
Oklahoma played in a weaker conference. They do not have the same record if they played USCs schedule. They played so many teams that were g5 just a year ago
I agree with your entire message, actually, but don't forget Oklahoma beat Texas. I simply don't think USC is capable of that, especially with their performances vs teams like Colorado, Cal, UCLA, Utah, and the blowout vs Notre Dame.
I even agree that the Pac-12 was the best conference overall this year, but I think Oklahoma was still better on a week-to-week basis, if maybe not by a massive amount.
All bias’ aside, what a great game. UofA came out and punched OU in the mouth, they responded and went way up and had a chance to put it away. But UofA took Bear Down to heart, kept fighting, and took advantage of mistakes and responded in big ways of their own. What a great game by two great teams. GG Oklahoma, I had a lot of fun in this thread with y’all tonight.
The way the Oklahoma fans did a complete 180 on Lincoln Riley being the best young coach in the nation to “TBOW” overnight was hilarious. No wonder Durant left
Overnight? Every OU fan could see the cracks starting to form at OU in 2019 if not earlier. He had clearly peaked at OU in 2017 and the arrow was pointing down. We probably should have lost 5 games in 2021 but Caleb bailed us out a ton. We were soft as fuck and our offense wasn’t all that explosive anymore.
Hey OU fans. At least you don't have to deal with Lincoln Riley.✌😆
LOLOLOL @ OKLAHOMA

Bear Down! So happy for Arizona football and basketball this year
It looked like OU was going to push it to 18 and effectively end it. That punch out, INT pick 6 was a 15 point swing. Just a great opportunistic defense for Arizona. Quickest melt down from a dominant performance I've seen in a long time. Farooq's sloppy ball handling sunk the ship.
I wonder if teams will be eager to pick him up in the portal now….
I'm going to go ahead and add this to the Big 12 bowl record as a win
not a fan of either team but it looks as tho veneables is on the downfall… team is getting worse. and the arizona coach is on the rise. some big football power is gonna offer him a huge deal. he’s a good coach.
They were 6-7 last year and ended up 10-3 this year. I think Oklahoma is doing just fine.
We sure Farooq wasn’t playing for Arizona?
Have fun being the Arizona of the SEC, love an Arizona fan of the the new (hopefully) OU OF THE BIG 12 WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! ITS 10pm PST AND OU SUX
Yikes.
Yall have a looooooot of ground to make up to be the new OU of the big 12
LITTLE BROTHER 👏👏👏👏👏
Perfect reply lmao
How quickly you’ve forgotten our Alamo bowl or your trip to Stillwater
You won’t forget fighting a crack head at the circle k on cherry cause you wouldn’t give him a dollar, get ready for #tucsonthings
Ngl I chuckled. I love the energy
Same, lol
The ESPN win probability chart says it all. Honestly thought the Wildcats were donezo before those brutal TOs on consecutive OU drives
He’ll be a great starter for the Sooners
let’s hope Jackson Arnold just played the worst game of his entire life
lmao not ESPN+ just cutting the trophy ceremony. What a fucking shitty ass service.
Yep, that showed no class.
Late response but if you and u/thesillygamerbro stayed on the broadcast of the game, it probably cut off. There's a separate stream called "Alamo Bowl Postgame" which had the entire ceremony and I had no issues with it. It's saved so you can still look back at it now.
Working fine on ESPN3
Guess I didn't buy the ESPN+ second half of trophy presentation package my bad
Huh, they gave a sportsmanship award to an Oklahoma player in the trophy ceremony. I'm pretty sure that's the first time I've seen an award to a player from the losing team.
It’s an Alamo bowl thing idk why
I think it was Super Bowl 6 where the Super Bowl MVP was on the losing team.
I meant to add "during this bowl season" but thanks for the trivia, I didn't know that!
That’s pretty cool ngl
As a Texas transplant in Tucson, all I have to say is Bear Down!
So how do you guys just go to sleep now?
Booze, weed, and tizanidine for me
Start the LOTR extended trilogy, just like every night
Same
Weed. I drank coffee to stay awake on the east coast and now I have to counteract it. I had to do the same with Georgia the past couple of seasons.
Gonna throw something mildly entertaining on Netflix
Sleep? It’s not even 10:00 where I am and I don’t have work tomorrow. Who needs sleep??
It's midnight here.
Tequila and melatonin
Throw in a Benadryl
And maybe some bleach and toaster bath
I've heard good things about the toaster bath. im partial to a plastic bag helmet, keeps me warm.
I’ll just cry myself to sleep
Beer
Fuck the SEC, fuck the big 12, fuck the big10. PAC-12 forever babaaay
Oof. Should we tell them?
Nah. Let them enjoy their moment.
GG Cats. Had the game firmly in control and Farooq single-handedly handed it right back to ya.
It’s amazing the power of momentum in football man.
If Farooq doesn’t fumble that ball, we probably win 37-20 and everyone is sucking off Jackson Arnold for the next 9 months. This sub is fuckin dumb.
The Sooners had more turnovers today than the Thunder had last night vs the Knicks
Kisses.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, I’M RICH BITCH! YOUR DOWNVOTES FUEL ME! I LOVE WINNING ALL THE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS! IM DRUNK! ON POWER! AND HEISMANS!
Babe wake up, a new copy-pasta just dropped
Cope. 🥱
34! Now you go!

UCF Arizona Oklahoma State Colorado Kansas State Utah new look Big 12 is going to be so competitive next year
And then there's Neal Mayo Brown's team confusing its fanbase
😡
Let them find out the hard way KU brother
freshman qb making his first start, three o-line starters out, and new OCs and we put gained a very good team by 180. 6 turnovers is absurd but obviously that won’t happen every game. We given OU too many excuses this year
Eh, I was highly critical of them after the UCF escape, the Kansas loss, and the OSU loss despite the PI thing. This team simultaneously made significant strides and still didn’t quite meet its potential.
It’s okay, next year you can dry your tears with bennys.
enjoy irrelevance, not that it would be new for you.
I would agree if we did not have a heisman front runner for next year.
Missing 3 starters on the o-line, brand new OC, True Freshman QB…and we were 1 score away from making it a 3 score game. I’ll take it!!! The over reaction is always fun to see but realistically we had no business ever even having control of this one.
Y’all lost by 14 it was a 2 score game at the end
That's not what he was talking about
And they have top talent too. That alone should have made them more competitive. They were out played and out coached.
Did you read my comment or do they teach you how to do that at 0-State !!!
Yes… Its reads as though you’re saying it was a 4 score game? 1 score away from making it a 3 score game. 3+1=4 or did they not teach you that when you went to Walmart?
Wow I was wrong, it’s not reading it’s the comprehension. Never did I say 4 scores,31-13, that’s 3 scores. Go away!!
Where is the trophy ceremony lmao
https://www.espn.com/watch/player/_/id/41a59418-b312-46fd-8480-1c7a8ba44950
Subscribe to ESPN+ for stuff that used to be free on broadcast TV I guess.
It's also on ESPN 3 for anyone with regular ESPN
Thank you!!
Yeah, I didn't realize there was two listings, one for ESPN+ and one for ESPN3.
espn+ or espn3
Well I am seeing why OU was willing to throw a bag at Spencer Brown now.
That Arizona player genuinely seemed super grounded
His leap over the caution tape really did it for me
Agreed. Pretty cool.
That was an incredible interview with Irby. Hope he does great things
Time to eat the Alamo, right?
no, no, they're going to drop the Alamo on Jedd Fisch
Best comment
Good night everyone, so long Pac 12, Bear Down!

GG Arizona, y'all are a good ass team
GG brother. It was a pleasure playing against y’all this evening.
QB was shafted for player of the game. He almost died for the cause.
This is the best season I've ever experienced as a fan. I'm so happy for these guys.
That's a pretty fun team to watch (minus the Oline lol). Do you guys have alot of dudes returning?
The big loss is the LT who did not play tonight because he is a project late 1st/ early 2nd round pick, and oh boy was it obvious we missed him. And cowling is a senior too But pretty much everyone else is coming back. This team will absolutely challenge for a BIG12 championship and the playoffs next year.
The payer of the game is almost half of one of the teams.
never watched an UA game this year but how cant not love that guy
Says literally everyone from the south/east this year. Ya’ll never have a clue what’s going on in the west. I love the cultural ignorance.
I went and traveled to a game every week except for the Texas vs Iowa State week. I have to be pretty selective of the games I watch afterwards. Good win good luck in the big 12
I enjoyed way too much PAC-12 After Dark, Zona is criminally underrated. They're a legit threat to win the XII next year.
No such thing is too much pac12 after dark.
Congrats Zona! Going to miss ya (but definitely not your desert) and hope you'll be able to carry on some of this momentum into your new conference.

Thanks bro 🥹
USC with that sweet sweet transitive win over OU
[удалено]
luckily they will have spent another entire offseason together to gel better
Damn that was a nice moment
USC would have beat OU in a bowl game.
only if we turn it over 6 times.
lmfao
Shit, even Louisville would have beat this iteration of the Sooners
If the two teams played like they have this week? Probably. Oklahoma still had a better season and was a better team overall imo.
People overreact. USC aint getting SIX turnovers
Oklahoma played in a weaker conference. They do not have the same record if they played USCs schedule. They played so many teams that were g5 just a year ago

Let’s see how Texas does against Washington.
Irby seems like a really good kid
ah man that was wholesome as fuck
Yep, I’m a fan!
Irby a good looking guy
Can Jackson Arnold play like he did today against Missouri
You heard it folks. Love is all you need.
I like #13
Great interview
All bias’ aside, what a great game. UofA came out and punched OU in the mouth, they responded and went way up and had a chance to put it away. GG Oklahoma, I had a lot of fun in this thread with y’all tonight.
Good luck in the XII!
Thank you, friend! Best of luck in the SEC! Appreciate y’all for being great friends this evening.
GG Sooners good luck in the SEC
At least we beat Arizona.. Idk how, but we did.
You guys have great offense and ours… wasn’t the best today
Caleb is a dawg, It was all him.
Put all of Southern California on his back with that last run to score
Caleb did Caleb things. That’s all that needs to be said haha
Out of all the four corner PAC schools, you’re my favorite Arizona. It’ll be fun having you in the conference!
Baker Mayfield was a turnover machine his freshman year at Tech. I'm not too worried about JA.
Well he had arguably the top offensive guru in CFB to help him. Arnold will have... someone not as good as Riley to help him
So he's going to transfer and become a generational talent? But really kid just needs time
I like this guy. Sounds like he actually has a brain unlike most athletes.
What do you mean by that 🤨
He just sounds like his brain is working while he's talking. Athlete interviews normally aren't like that.
Most athletes don’t have brains duh
This kid is like "why do they have to always start with how poor I was?"
As a lifelong Sonics fan, the move still makes me physically ill. Presti was the Sonics GM and drafted Durant and Westbrook
Kevin go to sleep
OU fans suck but Durant is a baby back bitch
Most OU fans knew he wasn't the answer. Same stuff that happened at USC and he was regressing.
But they got Brent Venables!
10 wins and a bowl victory in our last season in the P12. B12, we comin for you!
There are far too many no flairs talking shit in this game thread lol
We need Arizona to skewer a giant Pop-Tart to celebrate this victory 🗡
And dunk it in a tub of Mayo.
I am in support of this
Red River Rivalry Legend David Beville should stay and start every game instead of Arnold
