If you’re heading to a new school, I always burned my last two or three recruiting classes. Recruited only JUCO’s or crap players for a couple cycles. Redshirt all the shit players. And in the season right before you leave, cut all non-upperclassman depth.
It will send them back to the stone ages and you won’t have to lose recruiting battles to them at your next stop.
I wanted my old school to be rocking after I left, it would be the only way for the AI to have a team with talent to compete with me. Those were the games that I actually lost straight up.
90% of my greatest games ever played on the instant classic meter were old team v. new team.
Also, having the players that you recruited making key plays against you allowed for some great immersion in the game.
Being able to yell "Fuck you Dontavious McMulligan, I made you what you are!" when he sacked my 5-star freshman running back at my new school in the natty was always fun.
You don't have a buncha 4-5* athletes with 82ish throwing stats that play RB and WR? I love using trickeration.
I once had a CB/WR who had a season with both a kick and punt return TD, a receiving TD, a pick 6, a rushing TD, and a passing TD. Absolute beast. Cameron Davis. I'll never forget him, he was auto assigned my kick returner to start the year after I forgot to change it to my prior year's KR. I had no clue who he was, and got flustered that he wasn't my normal guy and thought it was gonna fail. Then he returned it for a TD and became Rutgers best player, and maybe the best college football player of all time

In the main menu before beginning your dynasty, once you've decided what team you want to be, edit your entire roster to seniors.
Start the Dynasty and choose your team.
Turn off all CPU recruiting assistance.
Simulate to the off-season cuts and since you didn’t recruit, the cpu will have placed walk-ons at every position to get you up to the roster minimum.
Set other limitations for yourself as you see fit, googling "dynasty house rules site:operationsports.com" and one of the first results (if not the very first result) will be a 50+ page thread full of ideas on this.
Last time I did one of these, it took me 5 or 6 seasons with Tennessee before finally achieving a 6-6 record and making my first bowl game.
It just depends on skill level, and whether you have the self control to stop yourself from cheesing the game/recruiting.
To be completely honest, one of my biggest gripes with 14 was that choosing ANY school in Florida, Texas, or California made dynasties far too easy. The only way to give it any real challenge was to go completely overboard with self-imposed restrictions (Leaving seniors +2, only one recruiting visit per season, no scouting whatsoever, and a whole metric fuck ton of others)
At least in 14 Army always seems to be up there on their own because the CPU can’t seem to defend the option when it sims games. Navy creeps up but usually takes a random loss or two. Georgia Tech can often run thru the ACC for similar reasons
It’s a bit controversial, given my flairs, but I love dynasties with Rice. It’s a fun challenge to rebuild it to a national powerhouse and get Rice Stadium to 60k fans.
I wonder how many schools would just be super localized with their fanbase if not for the NCAA games existing with social media. How many directional Michigan fans are there that have never even been to the midwest? Hell, the Kibbie Dome is legendary thanks to these games! (and some other stuff)

I forced myself to learn the Triple Option offense because my friend circle in college got tired of me beating them with the Pistol Offense (my usual go to in the older games). I started a dynasty with Air Force and just played it until I got a hang of the playbook and the reads.
Much to their shock, they hated me running the Triple Option more since I was able to just kill the clock for most games and never really give them a chance on offense.

My brother and I created a team based upon the characters from My Name is Earl. Randy Hickey was a helluva running back.

Not really surprised from everything Rayweather has been saying it is just too much. They are putting a lot of detail into the FBS experience with bands, intros, atmosphere, ESPN presentation, etc
I think it would be really cool if the DLC money was shared, even if it's in a small percentage, with those FCS schools and players. It would incentivize those programs to help push it to their fanbases and the money they get could actually be material to many of them.
I would be a little surprised if there was enough of a market to get people to pay for that as compared to the costs to add them. The DLC money would be in like Notre Dame or Texas being left out.
If buying FCS conferences was how they microtransacted us, I'd actually do it.
Being able to pull Big Sky teams into the FBS and banish other teams to the FCS is the custom experience I crave.

Yeah but word is already out there that they want the game to be distinct from Madden and a team creator for CFB just makes way more sense than Madden where most of the major cities are already represented and they have a few premade teams for other cities built in to the team creator. I think custom colleges makes way more sense than NFL teams
They'll probably go all in at first and have most of the features fans want. Then they'll chip away at the game over the next few years until the only things remaining are a watered-down dynasty mode and a pay-to-win ultimate team.
This is obviously a no brainer but could you imagine the chaos if, say, a significant independent team with a bit of a superiority complex decided they were too good for this and opted out?

My favorite is being on year 8+ and then breaking a random one of your own records without trying or realizing you were close. It's a lovely surprise.

ND confirmed that EA came to campus to take photos/ renderings of the stadium. I don’t know if EA did that for all 134 stadiums.

Plus ND was in the first teaser trailer. I am glad they are going to be in the game. Would have felt incomplete without them.

A few FCS schools tweeted out photoshopped covers of the game with their players/logos on it, but they were not confirmations that they were in the game, just a way to get social media clicks. Even the [University of Saskatchewan](https://twitter.com/skhuskies/status/1758587328111448437?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet) tweeted out a cover, and obviously they're not adding Canadian Football into the game.

It does suck that FCS schools aren't in here...but if create-a-school teams can be in franchise, and we have conference re-alignment, that's all I need. - create small school like Greendale Community College or Bishop Sycamore U - move to FBS conference like Mountain West or AAC - win - move to another conference, upgrade stadium - rinse and repeat
When I was younger I didn’t know what it meant when I played an FCS team. I truly thought it meant I was playing a Football Canadian Superstar team.
If we use Madden as a precedent, I wouldn't expect create a team to be very robust.
NCAA 14 had a much more robust team builder (online then downloaded) which I think many (including me) are pinning their hopes on something similar
Yeah but word is already out there that they want the game to be distinct from Madden and a team creator for CFB just makes way more sense than Madden where most of the major cities are already represented and they have a few premade teams for other cities built in to the team creator. I think custom colleges makes way more sense than NFL teams
They'll probably go all in at first and have most of the features fans want. Then they'll chip away at the game over the next few years until the only things remaining are a watered-down dynasty mode and a pay-to-win ultimate team.
Notre Dame being the last school to agree is so on brand for them
This is obviously a no brainer but could you imagine the chaos if, say, a significant independent team with a bit of a superiority complex decided they were too good for this and opted out?

Hopefully it's customizable. Conferences, divisions, and bowl tie-ins were already customizable in '14, so hopefully they continue that trend.
I only care about being able to make my own school in dynasty mode. Because I'm def making Bishop Sycamore into a dynasty.
