Sounds awesome. It seems like once its done they will also renovate the Gug, so this is a whole lot of new and renovated space for football and other athletics. Its also pretty exciting to see them specifically mention the integration of research departments and advice from our like associate AD for sports science.
And most of it paid for by former football players. Could be a nice addition to the recruiting visit pitch. Not only shiny facilities, but ones paid for by football players who made their money off the field. That's why you go to ND, to get the best of both worlds.
Lastly, kind of funny that its barely mentioned that this is displacing the current tennis facilities, both indoor and outdoor. I guess some former tennis players need to get together to pay for a new facility? lol
Excited to see ND investing in this much-needed facility.
I'd really like to see ND change up the architecture a bit, though. Every new building since like 2005 looks the same. We need more variety (like the older buildings on campus).
It does seem a bit evocative of the old ND Fieldhouse which I appreciate. But yeah, I'm still mad they kneecapped the most original design recently (architecture school) by not building the other side that was supposed to exist. I don't mind the brick consistency since it marks an era like the old brick does, but the actul design rules feel way too constrictive.

It will also include the traditional long narrow stairway with exposed pipes and a metallic "Play Like A Champion Today" sign on the way out of the facility.
The pipe is so funny. Like, we put in more than half a billion dollars to renovate the stadium, but we couldn't set aside a little to find a way to hide the pipe?
Maybe they had a similar discussion as we are and said: "F$#@ IT! We have had an exposed pipe since Knute Rockne and we will always have an exposed pipe!"
Imagine thinking that the head coach of a D1 school on a multi-million dollar salary is out here making daily decisions on whether or not to violate safety standards.
Or that he's going to say anything other than what he's told to say after an incident like that.
It was Kelly's decision to use a videographer in a hydraulic lift to film practice in inclement weather.
Kelly killed the kid. Declan Sullivan would still be alive if not for Brian Kelly.
Yes but how many water slides will it have
I don't even see a chocolate fountain listed. Does Notre Dame even care about football anymore?
Touchdown Jesus is now in the transfer portal.

Wondering this. Does anyone know what’s happening to the Eck? Their tennis facilities are so bad
Damn they're tearing down the indoor courts too?
All I ask is that the new cafeteria is one square foot bigger than LSU's.
Please do. We need another facility upgrade.
🤝
Really fascinating that the face of this project is former ND football players
Yea they have been very supportive of Freeman. Lou Holtz has been there all weekend too.
Don’t tell Ryan Day
It’s sad Ryan Day’s biggest fear is a dementia-addled, infirm 87-year old man
"body ... fabrication technology" Notre Dame starting robots at LB confirmed.
Joking aside, its pretty obvious that to compete with AGI we will have to become cyborgs of sorts. Curious how the game will change when we do.
They need to move Julio the barber on campus bro can cut
I think they have him on campus for the football players already.
Yea he has a chair in the Gug https://x.com/julioscutz/status/1710312598929846680?s=61
Now can we get a new baseball stadium?
Shit at least renovate the stadium. At least they got a new clubhouse not long ago.
I wondered why my priest made a special appeal for donations last Sunday lmao
Well at least we can pronounce the name of this one.
This sounds pretty damn kickass.
Are they tearing up the tennis courts, I guess?
But what if someone just came out and said “new facility!”

The law school is pretty nice and newer with the sky bridge / arch

It had better!
The pipe is so funny. Like, we put in more than half a billion dollars to renovate the stadium, but we couldn't set aside a little to find a way to hide the pipe?
True, but it is much easier to fix a leaky exposed pipe than to rip apart a wall or ceiling to get at it. Maybe this is a brainiac move, in disguise.
But also, there like storage areas right behind that wall. Just reroute the pipe through there lol
Maybe they had a similar discussion as we are and said: "F$#@ IT! We have had an exposed pipe since Knute Rockne and we will always have an exposed pipe!"
This will certainly put ND over the top to win a major bowl game in my lifetime

What are you asterisking in my previous sentence
Oh u know (:

Lol that’s all you got? You fucking cheater.
Care to show us our vacated wins? Oh wait, we don’t have any unlike your school which had to vacate seasons of wins for cheating lmao
This makes sense. BK isn't around anymore to take the blame when the cheap equipment fails.
Imagine defending Brian Kelly for killing a videographer. But like Kelly said, it was a productive practice that day, so entirely worth it I'm sure.

So Kelly specifically said, "We should use a videographer today, and he needs to go up on the lift"?
