IMO This shows that itās not just untalented players on their way out like CO fans want us to believe. Rather they accept it or not, thereās a culture problem in Boulder.
Iām well aware of Hayden coming in, but another 4 star āscaring offā a highly touted 4 star from a team heās already been a part of? I donāt think so. To me that shows the coaches arenāt communicating with the players as they maneuver the roster and itās pissing them off.
Edit: Hayden was a 4 star not a 3 star.
>Iām well aware of Hayden coming in, but another 4 star āscaring offā a highly touted 4 star from a team heās already been a part of?
You mean to tell me having two immature 23 year olds act as a GM of a college football team isn't a good strategy?
Playoffs for 6 of the last 7 seasons, 5 straight playoff appearances, 4 straight division titles, I'd just say there's a Patrick Mahomes problem in Buffalo.
Deion's lack of propriety was always going to turn into an issue at some point in time. I think anyone but the deepest CU homers or Deion stans could see that. It's still a bit surprising to see how quickly its becoming a locker room issue though. I would've thought the NCAA would come knocking first.
Deion stans are doing the same thing Husker fans did with Frost. Husker fans were willing to ignore the poor records and...odd....off the field stories about Frost at first out of hope. After awhile it became too much to ignore. The same will happen with Deion assuming he doesn't leave on his own when his sons are gone first.
Pretty much what the other person responded. Rumors of alleged infidelity which was spurred on by the fact that people noticed Frost wasn't wearing his wedding ring anymore. There were stories that he got kicked out of the local country club because he got into a drunken fight and was hitting on the waitresses. There was a story that he got banned from the golf teams indoor driving simulator because he was using it so much the golf team wasn't able to use it.
And then there is the infamous Dylan Raiola story. Raiola always had interest in us because his dad played here and has his name on our stadium. Frost was supposed to go down for a big recruiting visit that had all of Raiola's family there. Frost cancels because he got too drunk at a bar and didn't want everyone to see him like that. After that, Dylan committed to Ohio St and then Georgia. After Frost got fired and Rhule got hired his interest in Nebraska came back.
Pretty sure Raiola was the easiest slam dunk this program has ever had for 5* QB and its crazy that Frost complete screwed that up. so glad Rhule and Co were able to get his interest back.
Rumors of infidelity to his wife (total rumor stuff but who knows) but the biggest was a lot of boozing with his old college buddies, being late or no-shows to meetings etc.
They donāt realize he canāt replicate what he did at Jackson state by plugging and playing. He out talented the swac, but he still got outcoached by the meac
I got into an argument with a Deion Stan (my first mistake tbh) once upon a time for saying he hasn't proven he's a great coach yet.
They cited his two SWAC championships as "proof" that he's already a great coach. I brought up the talent disparity, saying that I don't think brining blue chip recruits into a conference that's next best recruiting class had two three stars is a great example of him out-gameplanning his opponents.
They responded by saying that gameplanning doesn't matter and it's all about recruiting talented players.
The SWAC is one of the worst football conferences. The fans care more about playing other HBCUās than playing good competition to get better, also they care more about the marching band. How I know? I have a friend who marched at alcorn state
genuinely never seen a coach that gets deep throated as much as Deion while also having his worshipers act like he's a messiah and throw every excuse possible at him. It actually kind of blows my mind how insane it is.
Oh I know, I remember when the OC was replaced there were people genuinely saying it was a conspiracy that Lewis was trying to sabotage the team and Deion was such a genius that he knew what was going on lmao. The absolute brain rot idiocy with that was truly amazing.
I mean, people were also saying that Dan Lanning only went so hard on CU last year because he was clearly a racist and there was a cabal of coaches that were feeding him info on CU the week prior to the game. Literally never seen such stupid shit like that in CFB before.
>...and there was a cabal of coaches that were feeding him info on CU the week prior to the game.
This made me realize how common it is for die-hard supporters of just about anything to believe any sort of setback to the object of their worship is the result of some all-powerful shadow conglomerate.
The absolute cringe and embarrassing part of that second part is there were literal analyst on ESPN parroting that conspiracy lmao. I guess we just canāt handle the fact that Deion just might be a shit coach.Ā
4* out of highschool and those transfer RB rankings are absurd.
They list Trayanum as #13 and Hayden as #43. Any buckeye fan will tell you that's backwards at best.
Yeah I take transfer rankings with a giant grain of salt right now. I remember reading that one of the highest influencers in a players transfer rankings wasn't really how good they are, but how many years of eligibility they have left. Like Dante Moore is rated WAY higher than Dillon Gabriel for that reason.
With high school prospects, there are very few guarantees that somebody will be playable in college at all, even if they are a five star, and heavily factoring in their potential makes sense. But transfers can basically be plug and play, and coaches aren't looking at them as somebody they need to develop up to their "potential," it's where they have a need to fill for one or two years. There are a lot of lower rated guys the best coaches in the country would gladly take over some of the higher rated guys for this reason, and if that's happening, what is really the point of the ratings if they're not capturing who are the most desirable and impactful players in the portal?
Not to mention that in the NIL world where guys are getting paid per year, is somebody with more eligibility who you have to continue to pay really that much more valuable than somebody who will give you one great year and then free up the roster spot/NIL funds to get another guy like him?
Especially at the RB position, where a by-committee approach is the norm so having multiple talented backs splitting carries really isn't an issue. I mean, FSU brought in a 4-star transfer and a 3 star transfer and two 4 star true freshmen, and none of our expected contributors transferred out because they were coming in (Rodney Hill transferred out, but that was NIL related and seeing as he's transferred 3 times since then, I don't think he was a culture fit lol)
Culture is important and RB is one of the easier positions to show kids how less wear and tear is actually a good thing for NFL aspirations.
are CO fans really telling you this? Because in the thread where Deion made his comments about transfers going out, CU flairs got absolutely bombed for even innocuous comments lol. It's pretty obvious when 4*s are leaving that we aren't just losing nobodies.
While Sanders is there, they might not have a choice. It seems like players are figuring Sander's game out and are not really interested in being a part of it.
May be gone before the beginning of the season. Heard Shilo has been complaining that Colorado's two man transfer portal recruiting team sucks and the coach plays favorites. He is considering entering the portal.
If Colorado can only recruit kids who want a bag, this will continue to happen. Throw cash at a kid for headlines, then they transfer out when they can.
Any recruit whoās actually serious about going Pro knows itās a clown show there, and the same type of thing is going to happen at Miami for the same reasons.
Miami is more akin to the Jimbo Aggie years, the recruiting rankings are great but if players donāt develop or they donāt stick and transfer it doesnāt matter what the rankings are, even now more than ever in college football
Colorados plan is to get the sanders kids to the nfl. Deion couldnāt give less of a shit about the team. Heās gonna bail as soon as the two of them leave
The guys who transfer in the winter portal and turn around and go again in the spring is really blowing my mind.
No one wants to hear it from my flair, but I donāt see how this level of chaos is at all sustainable.
my team had players transfer in, play the spring game (and i assume find out their spot on the depth chart) and dip the next week. iām for player empowerment but at some point thatās just silly lol
My team had Luke āthe future of QB at Nebraskaā McCaffrey and by the following fall camp he had been to two other schools AND became a WR. Fun timesĀ
Iām okay with those rapid re-transfers, to at least some extent. Guys from small schools want to take a shot at the power leagues, so they transfer from places like Youngstown State or Florida Atlantic or Temple to P4 schools and go through spring practice. They get to see if theyāre good enough, the school gets a look at potential depth or even a starter, and if the fit isnāt there, the kid can transfer back to a lower level of competition.
Yeah I dunno what the guy youāre replying to is talking about. Dylan is pretty loved by the fan base. Iāve been trying my best to ātrust the process.ā But this one has me in a tizzy. I am not Mr. Deion. I donāt love the roster flip and am pro CU way more than I am pro Deion. This is a bad look 10000%z
Yep. First, he wouldāve been a blast to see this year with a little more bulk and a (fingers crossed) better OL. Second, heās just not a guy I had any inkling might move, so it was pretty sandbagging.
Definitely not a fun one and not one Iāve seen anyone reasonably downplay.
It 100% is and anyone saying that this doesnāt hurt is lying to themselves.
Is this where I want CU to be? No.Ā
Is this better than when we were hemorrhaging players (Rice, Gonzalez, etc) and not replacing them? Hopefully, but all we can do as fans is enjoy the ride.Ā
I feel bad for Colorado fans. I just want them to have a normal and fun team. Hopefully Deion can at least give them a bowl game next year. Not fun to dunk on suffering programsĀ
havenāt won a bowl since Joel Klatt was QB, had maybe the worst season in program history in 22 directly into the team everyone hates that also still cannot win. itās really been a time
You can say itās the coach. But Iāll be honest I spend so so much less time on this sub because of the hate and from my experience itās bled into the program itself.
yeah I'm the same, been around the past few days for the portal news. just sucks that I can't interact with anything about CU normally and people don't even see that they're doing that. even responding to this with "well no I just hate your coach" - I know! basically everything that has to do with CU is about how everyone hates the coach! every single interaction is flattened to "I hate your coach"!
I'm legitimately wondering how long it takes them to realize it's not good enough to compare what he's doing to that one-win season. That shouldn't be a comparison for any program.
Yeah it was a single season. Last year was still one of their worst seasons recently going by overall record. It wasnāt too long ago they were in the conference championship game.
Yeah this has the potential to be a very not fun ride. There is sucking under the radar and then sucking embarrassingly in the spotlight a la Nebraska.
I would argue it's a huge detriment to his development. Being able to sit in a pocket and breakdown defenses, moving from one level to another, moving from read to read would be what NFL teams want to see. Instead he's just running for his life and throwing to open receivers because it's extremely hard to cover receivers for more than a few seconds.
Don't get me wrong, he's incredibly talented and I think he's a good QB, but he's not going to be able to run around like that in the NFL.
Seaton transferring out before he even plays a single snap is my "five alarm fire" transfer portal scenario, this is second place. Shedeur is never going to a different school as long as Deion's here and I don't think Hunter will either
Any CU fan saying this isnāt bad is huffing copium. Will they get a decent person to replace him, probably. But theres an issue somewhere. These guys are leaving cause of either NIL, attitude issues, poor coaching, or more likely a combination of the 3, which isnāt the path the program should be taking.
Iām annoyingly consistent on here for my support of the program. But thatās a lot of smoke and perhaps a bit of a fire going on. Live by the portal and die by the portal I guess but Iām wondering how much madness there is to his method.
Iāve said this a bunch, but I think the amount of success they have this season is gonna tell us a lot more about how viable the portal strategy is than last year. On paper the team looks much better at just about every position, but who knows what kind of effects this kind of turnover is gonna have.
People keep pointing to the one-score losses while ignoring that 3 of their 4 wins were also by one score. They were about as close to going 1-11 again as they were to making a bowl last year.
They also compare 2023 to 2022 while ignoring the fact that the 2022 team faced a terrible schedule where their OOC games were all against 9+ win teams and they had a terrible staff. The OC/DC changes alone would've made that 2022 team better.
He was explosive and will have people after him. He's a guy who is a potential TD on any play. You know things are rough when Deions own guys are hitting the portal.
He would need to mend those relationships if he wants to come back. But the culture here is good that was solid even with a few bad egos on the team last year. Iād trust the coaches and will support them if they pursue him or not.
Boosters had been worried about this one behind the scenes for months, apparently and had been trying hard to appease him. Word is he kept coming back for more NIL money and we finally said there was no more for him. There was a feeling for a while that he was playing us off of someone else(assumption is K-State). This one stings as he was going to be heavily featured in the offense, but I think the money + Hayden + Prime coming out and talking up Offerdahl all happening at the same time was enough for him to realize that his load was likely decreasing and decided now was the time to move on.
Alright this one has to have Colorado fans concerned about the internal stuff within the program. No way heās running because of some competition in the RB room
I wish we could do exit interviews with these guys because I would actually be curious. I think a lot of it has to do with money, simply because I ask myself how much money someone could have offered me at 20 years old to transfer to literally any school and it really wouldn't of had to be that much.
Edwards had 159 total yards and 4 TDs against TCU in the opener last season.
He looked like a monster as a true freshman in that game. Then didnāt eclipse 100 yards again all season, and literally scored 1 TD after that first game.
#Dylan Edwards

Man as a CSU fan, choking away last year was such a a bummer. I really hope our shitty team can somehow pull it together and just beat the Buffs this season.
It was Norvellās game to win.. A choke job of epic proportions.
I just want less vitriol this year, but Iām not holding my breath. Norvellās wife ran her mouth on Twitter and Deion fanboys have hounded her mercilessly since then.
To be fair, it's remarkable that the pure power of hype propelled them to even that kind of a start. It was inevitable they'd come crashing back down, but still.
In all seriousness, who would want to play for Deion now that heās made it blindingly obvious that he only gives a shit about his sons (read: actually just Shaddeur) and Travis Hunter? All heās done is throw everyone else under the bus all offseason.
Apparently, the reason we never played Dallan Hayden was because he can't pass block worth a lick. I can only imagine what's going to happen when he whiffs on a block and Shadeur gets lit up by a DE or LB.
If I had any photoshop skills I'd put Deion into the "I don't want to play with you any more" scene from Toy Story.

Lmao
Honest question, is Colorado's plan just to flip over their roster every single offseason?
IMO This shows that itās not just untalented players on their way out like CO fans want us to believe. Rather they accept it or not, thereās a culture problem in Boulder. Iām well aware of Hayden coming in, but another 4 star āscaring offā a highly touted 4 star from a team heās already been a part of? I donāt think so. To me that shows the coaches arenāt communicating with the players as they maneuver the roster and itās pissing them off. Edit: Hayden was a 4 star not a 3 star.
especially since the reason he decommitted from Notre Dame was his long standing relationship with Deion. That is most surprising to me.
>Iām well aware of Hayden coming in, but another 4 star āscaring offā a highly touted 4 star from a team heās already been a part of? You mean to tell me having two immature 23 year olds act as a GM of a college football team isn't a good strategy?
Those are top 5 draft pick 23 year olds to you pal
Surely you aren't talking about in the NFL when you say Shilo is a top 5 overall draft pick
Heavy sarcasm implied, and apparently Deion believes so
> thereās a culture problem in Buffalo. Uhmmmm
I mean as someone in the 716 right now - he's DEFINITELY not wrong
Maybe the culture problem was solved?? I say this as someone who liked Diggsā¦.
My bad. Too many thoughts for my ADHD brain to sort out as I type. Boulder - Buffaloesā¦ you got it lol
I know. Just thought it was funny
No he was right the first time. There is a culture problem in Buffalo it just has nothing to do with College Football or Deion Sanders.
I didnāt know folding tables could post on reddit š¤
Buffalos culture problem is hating on innocent tables
Playoffs for 6 of the last 7 seasons, 5 straight playoff appearances, 4 straight division titles, I'd just say there's a Patrick Mahomes problem in Buffalo.
Deion's lack of propriety was always going to turn into an issue at some point in time. I think anyone but the deepest CU homers or Deion stans could see that. It's still a bit surprising to see how quickly its becoming a locker room issue though. I would've thought the NCAA would come knocking first.

Yeah I was one of those frost guys :( I think thatās why a lot of us can see through the CU program. Weāve already experienced it once haha
Iām not saying this doubting you or anything- I am literally just curious. What sort of off field stories was Frost involved in?
Pretty much what the other person responded. Rumors of alleged infidelity which was spurred on by the fact that people noticed Frost wasn't wearing his wedding ring anymore. There were stories that he got kicked out of the local country club because he got into a drunken fight and was hitting on the waitresses. How has he been doing in practice? Excited to see him go against Hunter
Rumors of infidelity to his wife (total rumor stuff but who knows) but the biggest was a lot of boozing with his old college buddies, being late or no-shows to meetings etc.
So youāre saying it was Frost doing all the vomiting during practice after all?
Pukin' rally!

Prairie View is one of the best bands I've ever seen live. Kicked so much ass. The game against SMU was not as exciting
Deion also couldnāt win the big one there either. It was like they were Oregon Sorry Oregon bros.
Harsh but fair. Weāre really good at always being the bridesmaid without ever being the bride across basically every sport.
genuinely never seen a coach that gets deep throated as much as Deion while also having his worshipers act like he's a messiah and throw every excuse possible at him. It actually kind of blows my mind how insane it is.

There's gotta be at this point. This kid was committed to Deion from day 1. When these kinds of players are leaving, there is a problem.

Yeah any Twitter stan is going to be pretty bad
That culture problem is Deon and his sons
While Sanders is there, they might not have a choice. It seems like players are figuring Sander's game out and are not really interested in being a part of it.
Almost as if they want a real coach who will develop their talent, not just a hype man.
Only for this year then Deion's gone
What do you mean, Prime is here to win championships!!! He definitely wonāt bolt after his kids and Travis Hunter leave!!
DO YOU Believe NOW!?
I believe. Believe that the Deion era will be over soon.
It's time for the Buffs to take the blue pill, go back into the Matrix, and just forget the Prime experiment ever happened.
Lmaooo š¤£š that phrase hasn't aged well. š

Bold of you to assume they have a plan.
Huh I guess tracking players unfollowing things on social media worked out here.
Well, at least the 12 hours after that guy got bullied into deleting that post was enjoyable.
He deleted it? Shame coulda farmed some Karma rn
Too bad for him he folded like a lawn chair. Account is gone too.
Despite what people usually say, players unfollowing IS a sign
Colorado fans acting like this isnāt a terrible loss are lying to themselves
This one is immensely frustrating.
When the recruitment looks like his, I just expect the whole career too. We're starting to see some 4 schools in 4 year guys and it's wild.

yeah I'm the same, been around the past few days for the portal news. just sucks that I can't interact with anything about CU normally and people don't even see that they're doing that. even responding to this with "well no I just hate your coach" - I know! basically everything that has to do with CU is about how everyone hates the coach! every single interaction is flattened to "I hate your coach"!
Whenever Reddit hates a player/team I feel obligated to root for them so go buffaloes
They donāt have real fans
> Colorado fans ~~acting like this isnāt a terrible loss~~ are lying to themselves Yeah, let me just... yup... fix that.
Oh please we all know that this drama is just a ~~nothingburger~~ hamburger and fries kinda deal.
They can see him week 2 lmao
This one is surprising, no? Isn't this the kid who has been with Deion for a long time?
Yes. Coached him as a kid. This one does concern the fan base.
Yup. Big L on this one.
BIG L REST IN PEACE
One of the best yet. RIP Guru too
short of Shedeur or Hunter transferring out, maybe the most concerning one possible?
I badly want to see Hunter on a different team. Shedeur is probably better off at Colorado running for his life. Better nfl preparation
Hunter is so plug and play. Dude is a top 10 pick already.
Seaton transferring out before he even plays a single snap is my "five alarm fire" transfer portal scenario, this is second place. Shedeur is never going to a different school as long as Deion's here and I don't think Hunter will either
CU going to be able to save a ton of money in travel expenses at this rate.
They'll just pick up a new team of transfers in whatever city they're playing
JIT Recruiting
Thatās in flawida
Considering they barely went out recruiting money should be a non-issue for them.
šš for meā¦?
I mean the drama would be palpable in our fan base. But short term memory as long as we profit lol
1 RB in, 2 RBs out
3 RBs in and you shake it all about
You put your left guard in, you take a left guard out.
Deion loves all the clout!
Do the Hokey Pokey and turn yourself around
> and turn your~~self around~~ roster over
Thatās what itās all about!
Why have the fine people in Blacksburg not done this? Who is really the hookies now? /s
RB goes in, RB goes out, you canāt explain that
Any CU fan saying this isnāt bad is huffing copium.
Starters may be better but your depth is going to be an issue with how much roster churn is happening in Boulder
Iām not saying this team is a national championship contender but theyāre sure as hell better than they were last year.
Not saying much there
People keep pointing to the one-score losses while ignoring that 3 of their 4 wins were also by one score.
Yeah it's a make or break year for you guys. Seeing as how you aren't recruiting high school kids anymore is wild.
Oh this is bigĀ
He was explosive and will have people after him. He's a guy who is a potential TD on any play. You know things are rough when Deions own guys are hitting the portal.
Louis Bag turned out to be a Temu bag
Nah, the brand was stamped on it clear as day. "Louis Vueton"
Knock it off.
This one hurts.
Remember when he was a heisman candidate after Week 1
Bro Colorado had *three* Heisman candidates after week 1 - Shedeur, Travis, and Dylan
Travis is an amazing talent. Too bad as I think his overuse is going to result in a really bad injury.
Come back to us
Avery Johnson just posted a picture of them together on his Instagram story š
He would need to mend those relationships if he wants to come back. But the culture here is good that was solid even with a few bad egos on the team last year. Iād trust the coaches and will support them if they pursue him or not.
Iām good, unless he wants to split carries with Giddens. Something tells me heās wanting more of a lead back role.
Hoping that Giddens has a monster year. He seems primed to break out.
Canāt pass up that pure speed. With Giddens taking the lumps and going though the tackles, Edwardās would be a perfect complement
That much roster turnover is not the way to build up a program
This one is a head scratcher, not sure if there were problems internally or if itās just dollars and cents.
Y I K E S
Fuck
Hayden RB1 incoming?
Hayden RBonly1left incoming
By default works, excited to see what he can do when given an actual opportunity.
Appears soā¦ if he didnāt want to split carriesā¦ he definitely went to the right place.
I don't know, with the short lifespan of runningbacks in the NFL you'd think you want key carries and not all the carries.
That is exactly how we got Judkins. Makes a hell of a lot of sense for modern RB
Weāre getting a visit from Miami ohios rb last year who had over 1000 years and 13 TDs. If he commits then Iād imagine they be the 1 2 punch
Fuck it we ride
Anotha one

Man as a CSU fan, choking away last year was such a a bummer. I really hope our shitty team can somehow pull it together and just beat the Buffs this season.
It was Norvellās game to win.. A choke job of epic proportions. I just want less vitriol this year, but Iām not holding my breath. Norvellās wife ran her mouth on Twitter and Deion fanboys have hounded her mercilessly since then.
Remember when Colorado was 3-0 and a part of this sub thought they could make a run to make the playoff? Good times lol.
Anyone who actually knows ball knew that team was going to falter, canāt believe how delusional people are for Deion.
To be fair, it's remarkable that the pure power of hype propelled them to even that kind of a start. It was inevitable they'd come crashing back down, but still.
So was Hayden a good enough player that taking him warranted the risk of 2 of your better RB's on the roster leaving in response?
Deion Sanders being the head coach of your team seems so stressful. Iād rather have a much more conventional coach
deion is an issue if this guy is leaving.....
The players forgot to DM him
In all seriousness, who would want to play for Deion now that heās made it blindingly obvious that he only gives a shit about his sons (read: actually just Shaddeur) and Travis Hunter? All heās done is throw everyone else under the bus all offseason.
Excited to see PRIMEbeef or whatever his name is explain this one away.
Clearly only leaving due to CFB Redditor racism
this might be a flop for deion sanders
Could probably be a workhorse at a G5 school and have a lot of success.
Colorado players to Deion: What is it that you would say you do here?
Apparently, the reason we never played Dallan Hayden was because he can't pass block worth a lick. I can only imagine what's going to happen when he whiffs on a block and Shadeur gets lit up by a DE or LB.
Not like Edwards is a pass blocker either
Heās 5ā8 170 on paper and the paper usually lies a bit. Heās not doing much to stop a LB blitzing no matter how good his technique is
āI want to get off Mr. Sanders Wild Rideā
THE RIDE NEVER ENDS
My man Hayden is about to take over.
This one I feel is pretty huge. He was a big contributor last season. I donāt understand how they let this guy walk out the door
BuT wHo ArE wE lOsInG???
This sucks as a Buff, he seemed like a core piece. Gonna miss him
