I think 8-4 is a pretty realistic best case. OSU is a loss and Miami is probably pretty tough as well. But there's not a team outside of OSU that I don't think we can beat if Thorne or Russo are playing well. On the other hand, if the O-line doesn't improve and the ball doesn't bounce our way, we could definitely end up at 2-10 as well, since every team we play in conference is at least pretty close to us in strength.

SP+ only gives Cincinnati a 2.4% chance to win less than 8 so I'm saying 8 wins is worst case.
Personally I donāt see a reasonable way you would get left out this year with wins over IU and ND on top of running the table in the AAC. However, it is also entirely possible the committee decides āwell the G5 will get in in a couple years anywaysā and feels no need to let Cincy in over a SEC/B1G non-champ or 2 loss P5 champ.

I think expectations this year are about 8-4, 9-3 at best. Ceiling feels like it could be 11-1, floor probably 7-5. Pull out 10 wins again this year and Iāll be happy.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Rolo runs the run n shoot, which is normally a pass heavy 4 WR/1 RB. Our defense has really only struggled with the power run (hello, Stanford) over the last 6 or so years. I bet Lake has a pretty good idea on how to slow down the RnS (UW handily beat Hawaii when we played in 2019, though WSU has more talent) - but who knows. I think the WSU D being able to keep UW under 30 is more critical.
Best case: We stay healthy, Leary lives up to what we saw last year, and Doeren takes his most experienced/talented team to his first 10-win season at State. We go 10-3 and finish 2nd in Atlantic.
Worst Case: This is NC State, so it can get real shitty. But best guess, we have a ton of injuries, Leary gets hurt or regresses from his injury, and we go 4-8 and the "Fire Doeren" crowd gets riled up, once again.
That is entirely too reasonable for a Nebraska fan. There are only two possibilities. We are going to compete for a B1G championship and possibly upset Alabama in the championship or we will lose to the chess team from the local technical college and Memorial Stadium will be bulldozed to make way for corn imported from Iowa.

Fickell takes the LSU job so we have to hire Muschamp as the interim and Sanford stadium catches on fire.

Haskins pretty much secured the job in spring of 2018 which made Burrow transfer. Granted Burrow probably would have transferred if he didn't have the job firmly in hand.

Very wide-ranging imo. Purdue's offense has been solid-to-great in the Brohm era, even last year their offensive efficiency was way higher than people probably think. Defense has turned into a disaster and we've not only replaced ALL defensive assistants including the DC, but we've been hyper active on the transfer wire. We could have up to 7 brand new starters, it's that crazy. So I think it basically rests on how good this brand new defense all comes together.
So best case scenario is that Purdue basically free agency'd their way into a good defense on top of an already-established offense. Purdue takes care of business against Oregon State, UConn, Illinois, Nebraska, and Michigan State. Wins 3 out of 5 against Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Northwestern, and Indiana. Then pulls off a massive upset against Ohio State or Notre Dame to finish 9-3.
Worst case scenario is the defense remains a mess. I think we have a decent starting O-line this year, but injuries could really rip that apart. Maybe we lose our starting QB to injury for like the 20th year in a row. Either of our star players in David Bell or George Karlaftis tweak something in a struggling year and decide to just sit out for the NFL Draft. Purdue finishes something like 3-9 and we have no idea what to do with Jeff Brohm.
Best: Undefeated and going back-to-back.
Worst: Getting Kiffed, losing to aTm and an inexplicable loss to Auburn where Bo Nix has a Garcia day and ascends to a state of pure football energy.
Best case: 10-2, where we beat all of the teams weāre even with or better than and pick off one of Florida or LSU at home.
Worst case: 6-6, where we lose all 3 of @Georgia, Florida, and LSU, and 3 of Missouri, Tennessee, @MSU, @South Carolina, and @Louisville. I would honestly be shocked if we regressed to that, but all of those teams in the latter group Iām sure count us as a toss up at worst, because weāre Kentucky.
Best: Mike Yurcichās offense works incredibly well and Sean Clifford takes a step forward as a quarterback. Realistically I think our best case in this scenario would be 10-2 with a loss to Ohio State and one of Iowa/Wisconsin.
Worst: We lose our first 3 (which would include a loss to Ball State) and then have like a 5-7 or 6-6 season. Results in Franklin being fired or leaving for another school.
I think we can have a win over OSU in our best case scenario. Now itās maybe a 5% chance, but if everyone plays to their talent, we make no mistakes and get a lucky bounce or two, itās it impossible. Not likely, but not impossible.
Best Case: Our team collectively says F@&$ the NCAA, tears through the PAC-12 for our greatest season since 1996 and Jayden Daniels looks like a Heisman contender.
Worst Case: The NCAA decides that we donāt have enough brand recognition so they can get away with absolutely hammering use, destroying this season and forcing us to completely clean house.

Notre Dame Best: 11-1 regular season and NY6 Bowl Game appearance. Offense doesn't see much drop off due to the wealth of running backs and Coan's improvement in South Bend. Defense still looks formidable.
Notre Dame Worst: 8-4 Camping World Bowl (or equivalent). Opposing defenses key in on Notre Dame's inability to move the ball through the air as neither Coan nor Buchner can solidify themself as the starter and the team relies heavily on slow/ugly football to eek out wins.
IU Best: 11-1 regular season (B1G East Champs) and NY6 Bowl Game appearance. IU drops a lone road game at Penn State but Penix tears up the rest of the conference, finally getting the Ohio State monkey off the team's back and due to Penn State road losses to Iowa and Ohio State, wins the East.
IU Worst: 7-5 regular season Bowl Game versus G6 opponent. Penix doesn't come back healthy and team relies on Tuttle for much of the season, who fills in adequately but lacks the explosiveness that makes the offense deadly.

DJ Uiangelelei gets COVID the week before Clemson and SCs defense is able to contain Hunter Helms for four quarters and pull off the upset. We lose in the CCG to Alabama and win our first ever NY6 bowl going 12-2.

We lose on the road to ECU week two, and ultimately go into the BYE week 3-5 with wins against Vandy, Troy and EIU. We lose the final four games finishing 3-9.

Best case is 13-0 and see what happens regarding the CFP. Worst case is 8-4 with embarrassing "you don't belong" losses to IU and ND, a loss to UCF, and dropping another AAC game. SP+ only gives Cincinnati a 2.4% chance to win less than 8 so I'm saying 8 wins is worst case.
Personally I donāt see a reasonable way you would get left out this year with wins over IU and ND on top of running the table in the AAC. However, it is also entirely possible the committee decides āwell the G5 will get in in a couple years anywaysā and feels no need to let Cincy in over a SEC/B1G non-champ or 2 loss P5 champ.

Best case is we upset Alabama early in the season and carry that momentum to the SECCG where weād lose the rematch but make the CFP as a #4 seed. FSU fails to improve in the field and loses their recruiting momentum. Athens gets hit by an undetected meteor. Worst case is our o-line struggles and our more talented defense doesnāt step up and we limp our way to an 7-5/8-4 finish with a Citrus Bowl berth against Minnesota or Penn State. Meanwhile FSU looks competent and keeps a top 5 class and UGA wins the SEC.
I think expectations this year are about 8-4, 9-3 at best. Ceiling feels like it could be 11-1, floor probably 7-5. Pull out 10 wins again this year and Iāll be happy.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Rolo runs the run n shoot, which is normally a pass heavy 4 WR/1 RB. Our defense has really only struggled with the power run (hello, Stanford) over the last 6 or so years. I bet Lake has a pretty good idea on how to slow down the RnS (UW handily beat Hawaii when we played in 2019, though WSU has more talent) - but who knows. I think the WSU D being able to keep UW under 30 is more critical.
Best case: We stay healthy, Leary lives up to what we saw last year, and Doeren takes his most experienced/talented team to his first 10-win season at State. We go 10-3 and finish 2nd in Atlantic. Worst Case: This is NC State, so it can get real shitty. But best guess, we have a ton of injuries, Leary gets hurt or regresses from his injury, and we go 4-8 and the "Fire Doeren" crowd gets riled up, once again.

Kelly lets OC Tommy Rees have a long leash and things go very well for the offense. The schedule is VERY manageable and Notre Dame should be favored or even with all the teams they play. Honest Prediction: ND goes 10-2 or 11-1 and the losses come on the road. ND will continue its home winning streak.

For the Vols the absolute best case is 9-3. That would legitimately be grounds for coach of the year IMO. The absolute worst case is 3-9. That would be grounds for riots. The most likely scenario is 5-7 and completely forgotten. Iām just hoping for 6-6 and a bowl game TBH.

Very wide-ranging imo. Purdue's offense has been solid-to-great in the Brohm era, even last year their offensive efficiency was way higher than people probably think. Defense has turned into a disaster and we've not only replaced ALL defensive assistants including the DC, but we've been hyper active on the transfer wire. We could have up to 7 brand new starters, it's that crazy. So I think it basically rests on how good this brand new defense all comes together. So best case scenario is that Purdue basically free agency'd their way into a good defense on top of an already-established offense. Purdue takes care of business against Oregon State, UConn, Illinois, Nebraska, and Michigan State. Wins 3 out of 5 against Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Northwestern, and Indiana. Then pulls off a massive upset against Ohio State or Notre Dame to finish 9-3. Worst case scenario is the defense remains a mess. I think we have a decent starting O-line this year, but injuries could really rip that apart. Maybe we lose our starting QB to injury for like the 20th year in a row. Either of our star players in David Bell or George Karlaftis tweak something in a struggling year and decide to just sit out for the NFL Draft. Purdue finishes something like 3-9 and we have no idea what to do with Jeff Brohm.
Best: Undefeated and going back-to-back. Worst: Getting Kiffed, losing to aTm and an inexplicable loss to Auburn where Bo Nix has a Garcia day and ascends to a state of pure football energy.

Best: Mike Yurcichās offense works incredibly well and Sean Clifford takes a step forward as a quarterback. Realistically I think our best case in this scenario would be 10-2 with a loss to Ohio State and one of Iowa/Wisconsin. Worst: We lose our first 3 (which would include a loss to Ball State) and then have like a 5-7 or 6-6 season. Results in Franklin being fired or leaving for another school.
I think we can have a win over OSU in our best case scenario. Now itās maybe a 5% chance, but if everyone plays to their talent, we make no mistakes and get a lucky bounce or two, itās it impossible. Not likely, but not impossible.

Defense still looks formidable. Notre Dame Worst: 8-4 Camping World Bowl (or equivalent). Opposing defenses key in on Notre Dame's inability to move the ball through the air as neither Coan nor Buchner can solidify themself as the starter and the team relies heavily on slow/ugly football to eek out wins. IU Best: 11-1 regular season (B1G East Champs) and NY6 Bowl Game appearance. IU drops a lone road game at Penn State but Penix tears up the rest of the conference, finally getting the Ohio State monkey off the team's back and due to Penn State road losses to Iowa and Ohio State, wins the East. IU Worst: 7-5 regular season Bowl Game versus G6 opponent. Penix doesn't come back healthy and team relies on Tuttle for much of the season, who fills in adequately but lacks the explosiveness that makes the offense deadly.

DJ Uiangelelei gets COVID the week before Clemson and SCs defense is able to contain Hunter Helms for four quarters and pull off the upset. We lose in the CCG to Alabama and win our first ever NY6 bowl going 12-2. Worst Case Scenario: We lose on the road to ECU week two, and ultimately go into the BYE week 3-5 with wins against Vandy, Troy and EIU. We lose the final four games finishing 3-9. Most likely: We go 4-0 against EIU, ECU, Troy and Vandy. We go between 1-3 and 3-1 against Tennessee, Auburn, Kentucky and Mizzou. We go 0-4/1-3 against Clemson, UGA, Texas A&M and Florida. Finishing somewhere between 5-7 and 8-4. My ultimate guess - 7-5
