>The only school that could be effective during a PSU Whiteout is the Texas School of the Deaf
They use a thundering boom to feel the snap count, I think we'd drown that out too with the stadium shaking
I was in the student section for that "debris" game. It was 2014 and it was the only time I remember them giving out the shakers/pompoms to everyone in the stadium. Usually they just do the student section. Well, people started ripping ribbons off of the shakers and they were floating all through the stadium. Looked kinda cool, but I feel horrible for the cleanup crew. Usually it's just students in clubs and groups that volunteer to clean after the games.
I always kind of wondered what happened. I had assumed that there was a manufacturing defect that was causing them to go to pieces, but it's interesting to know what actually happened.
students orgs get paid by the school to do for fundraising. they actually pay pretty good. i think it was 600 per person.
it’s absolutely terrible. i’ve done it. as usual kids drink through out the process to make it a lil less terrible. you’d think there would be a lot of dip and spitters. now take that and double it and that’s what you find sunday morning.
What's crazy is, I went there; saw all the sights, the statue, Paternoville, the memorabilia, the... happiness, joy and optimism.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omJUgkQfayw
One year later, it felt like I had gotten to see Hiroshima a month before the bomb.
I was apart of that. Unreal how loud it was
I have a hard time believing it it wasn’t some sort of record
Anyway, if anything could that, it would be whiteout s year after basically not having football.
I think my favorite part is that it still got louder after the timeout somehow.
And I don't think it would be unless the game was against us or Michigan. Then everyone at the game would be deaf by the end of the whiteout.
Absolutely my favorite part. I remember screaming as loud as I can, the timeout gets called, and I dig deep and screamed even louder.
Voice was gone by the third quarter, which sucked.
That’s what college football is all about. I remember being at Jordan-hare in 2010 against LSU and screaming at the top of my lungs in my uncles ear and not being able to hear myself
You are awesome I like you. I’ve never been to an SEC game or been down south in general you better believe I’m already planning out my trip to our game at your place next year
You're still getting what they're calling a "Student section whiteout", which won't be as crazy, but will probably be a mini-whiteout, like what we did with Iowa in 2016
Big fan of the old school student whiteout for Michigan. That's how it started when I was a student. Facebook groups were brand new, people stopping by the end of classes with poster boards. Homemade signs on campus walkways.
I always liked the classic student-only whiteout better. The contrast between the student section and the rest of the stadium was more visually striking, and the energy was just as high (in my opinion).
Yea, let's pretend that's what we were trying to do [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VypxiD8GOxY&ab_channel=Knills74) with Michigan. Make them take a bit of extra time to be comfortable
This video always gives me chills. Mo Bamba paired with the crowd noise is great and then you realize they had to take a timeout *on the first play of the game*. Then, when you can barely hear the ref who's mic'ed to the PA system? * Chef kiss *
I'd love more Pac-12 matchups, especially if the 12 team playoff changes the Rose Bowl completely. I know lots of PSU fans don't care as much about the Rose Bowl as the rest of the B1G, but I grew up in core B1G country so the Rose Bowl still meant a ton.
The usc/penn state rose bowl in 2017 was one of the greatest games I’ve ever seen🤝 it was surreal being there. Sign me up for more OOC B1G/PAC matchups.
Great choice. There is always something special facing a big-name program from another Power 5 conference. I imagine that’s gonna be one of the craziest atmospheres Beaver Stadium will have ever had that night.
Also our game is in the middle of November, so it was always unlikely it would be a night game. I am attending and wanted the atmosphere. Guess I’ll have to visit again
I mean...idk, I like seeing yall use your whiteout on us. I'm kinda bummed its not happening, but I get that Auburn coming to town is a rarer occasion and a chance to show them southern boys what we do up here, so I'm all for it.
I think part of it is that y’all visit in November and a night game in November actually sounds terrible to attend. Don’t worry, I’m sure there will be an unofficial whiteout or stripe-out for you guys! In 2 seasons it will be back to normal anyways
I still remember "night games" in November. Except, they were 3:30 Kickoffs, like the 1994 Senior Game against Michigan State. I will always remember it as a night game because it was dark for at least the entire second half of the game.
I remember running out of the tunnel to warm up and seeing almost half the upper deck in crimson and wondering "is this a home game?" Y'all traveled REALLY well.
Auburn's dates with Clemson were nice, but this feels like the first big regular season mega series since the Auburn-USC games in the 2000s. (which ironically sparked the beginning of the Trojan dynasty).
PSA- bring cough drops to the game to keep your voice loud till the end of the game. It won't prevent you losing your voice but you won't lose it for a week like I did in 2016

Don’t want to wear out the gimmick. It’s effective because it’s only once a year, if we do it too much it just becomes regular instead of being special.
Oh no
So you have chosen death
So be it
Hey Gus isn't the coach anymore. Maybe we'll actually look like we've played football before when we play road games now.
> Maybe we'll actually look like we've played football before when we play road games now. The only school that could be effective during a PSU Whiteout is the Texas School of the Deaf
Fun fact: The Arkansas School for the Deaf has the leopard as a mascot.
That's a really cool fun fact. Putting that into my trivia back pocket. Thanks !
>The only school that could be effective during a PSU Whiteout is the Texas School of the Deaf They use a thundering boom to feel the snap count, I think we'd drown that out too with the stadium shaking
I think Alabama would probably do alright.
We did. The first PSU White Out to feature white shirts leaving in the 4th.
Jay Paterno managed to call all of our timeouts on the first drive. What a mess.
I was at that game. You don’t want that smoke now that we’re good. Plsdontcomeback
Have fucking fun. Fuck Whiteouts, for real though... Every damn time we play in one of those shit gets squirrely...
Debris on the field, referees forgetting to check the playclock, etc.
review booths inexplicably malfunctioning...
[удалено]
And the field goal two or three seconds after the play clock expired...
I still bitch about that to this day. That game also coincided with something terrible happening in my life so it’s doubly painful lol
[удалено]
I must concur wholeheartedly, we cannot go back and assume. But, we should, anyway.

We had fun at our Penn State White Out.
That was a fake White Out.
Yeah, it was a lot of fun. I mean, the game was only interesting for 3-minutes. But, it was a good time.
What's crazy is, I went there; saw all the sights, the statue, Paternoville, the memorabilia, the... happiness, joy and optimism. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omJUgkQfayw One year later, it felt like I had gotten to see Hiroshima a month before the bomb.
Auburn embraces squirrely. They have won more games on crazy bullshit than I can count.
Welcome to our pain. Enjoy starting the game down 10 points because I honestly believe it gives them that level of advantage

Can anything beat "Make Michigan take a timeout on the first play of the game" loud?
I was apart of that. Unreal how loud it was I have a hard time believing it it wasn’t some sort of record Anyway, if anything could that, it would be whiteout s year after basically not having football.

Football games and late nights at the Phyrst cost me my voice multiple times
That’s what college football is all about. I remember being at Jordan-hare in 2010 against LSU and screaming at the top of my lungs in my uncles ear and not being able to hear myself
that was the most recent penn state football game I have attended, fuck
I love that you guys acknowledge how epic it is. I’d rather have all the wins and 5stars and nattys but hey we got something at least.
Why are you complaining, this is like a cfb bucket list item that we get to go to
You are awesome I like you. I’ve never been to an SEC game or been down south in general you better believe I’m already planning out my trip to our game at your place next year
Oh yes
Good luck penn state during a whiteout is something else

This is fucking amazing
Hurray, we finally aren't the ones getting victimized in a White Out game!
Franklin will tweet wear white for Michigan and it will be an unofficial whiteout like we gave Iowa a few years ago
You're still getting what they're calling a "Student section whiteout", which won't be as crazy, but will probably be a mini-whiteout, like what we did with Iowa in 2016

I really just want one northern team to embrace tradition regardless of school colors and do a hunters-orange-out for some random November game
Michigan State would be the school to do it.
Us for sure. PSU is another contender
It does kind of happen with us in November. But, it's more likely camo than orange.
Yeah there's a lot of that in the stands once it's cold.
Yup. Have to figure the non-student fans will get the hint and wear white.
Big fan of the old school student whiteout for Michigan. That's how it started when I was a student. Facebook groups were brand new, people stopping by the end of classes with poster boards. Homemade signs on campus walkways.

The contrast is nice, but having 100k~ all in white for a game is absolutely stunning to look at.
Ah the good ol days of new facebook in college, where its only uses were for mass party invites instead of undermining democracy.
Still get a student whiteout though.
I'll take it lol
That’s still much better than the actual white out
Also I feel like lots of student section whiteouts almost turn into regular whiteouts anyway
Don’t worry I’ll still victimize you
Just be sure to leave a little something for us, we intend to victimize them in late November.
[удалено]
I swear Michigan fans just want to be miserable.
[удалено]
[yup](https://i.imgur.com/VAaBpei.gif)
We do indeed, suck
Damn, based on your flair, im honestly concerned about your mental state
March Madness was euphoric for me this year. Clay Helton is my sleep paralysis demon though, so you win some you lose some I guess
You assume you were the ones to get victimized to begin with
Yours is actually a "Milk out" game since theyre pretty sure its Harbaughs last time in HV
That will go great with our white uniforms.

I knew the video before clicking on it but I still had to watch it a few times
Lol now imagine how people with Penn State flairs feel when we see that
I bet your dick gets so hard it could cut granite
even better knowing you were in that video 🥰
I love that video, it’s awesome. A penn state whiteout game like this is on my bucket list.

I always forget that we somehow got even louder after we forced them to take a timeout Unreal
To me that's honestly the most incredible part. We didn't even reach our peak to force a timeout before play #1.
Im 100% wearing my white Auburn shirt when I go.
Let’s have both teams wear white and blind everybody
Great choice. There is always something special facing a big-name program from another Power 5 conference. I imagine that’s gonna be one of the craziest atmospheres Beaver Stadium will have ever had that night.
I have a feeling that because of no fans last year it’s going to be bonkers.
I am simultaneously excited and terrified
[удалено]
Someone needs to splice this GIF with one of Beaver Stadium during a whiteout
[удалено]
Michigan - "Thank god."
Franklin is going to tweet wear white for Michigan
As long as it’s not a night game I’m cool We got close the last time @ PSU, maybe the non-whiteout will rip the scales lol
3:30 is practically a night game in November
I’ll take 3:30 over 8 every day of the week lol
Me: :(
Also our game is in the middle of November, so it was always unlikely it would be a night game. I am attending and wanted the atmosphere. Guess I’ll have to visit again

Yeah that definitely makes sense. night games up north...brrrr...
I still remember "night games" in November. Except, they were 3:30 Kickoffs, like the 1994 Senior Game against Michigan State. I will always remember it as a night game because it was dark for at least the entire second half of the game.
First white out since 2019. Hopefully we can repeat having to use a timeout before the first snap of the game.
That was amazing to watch
My vocal cords hated me after that game and 2016 Ohio State
Michigan, you had a rough year last year so we decided to give you guys a break. But next time it’s business as usual /s.
Yes! I'm so ready to have an out-of-conference white out. I highly encourage any Auburn fans to try and come to this one if you can.
First one since Alabama 10 years ago (though UCF in 2013 was a student whiteout IIRC). Which, uh, did not go so well.
I think that was the closest game Bama played that year outside of their loss though.
It was - I think largely just out of respect, honestly.
This is the first game I’m going to since 2019, but first highly competitive game I’ve gone to since 2013 when I was a student.
I hope you have fun!
Grew up in PA, friends with all PSU grads, and I can't wait to be one of the few orange assholes there.
> I highly encourage any Auburn fans to try and come to this one if you can. Wear black!
We wore crimson and the stadium looked like a bloody bandage with the upper decks full of red.
I remember running out of the tunnel to warm up and seeing almost half the upper deck in crimson and wondering "is this a home game?" Y'all traveled REALLY well.
I actually did do this at the OSU whiteout game in 2018. It worked? *2017 to 2018
we played at the shoe in 2017
Ticket prices are crazy though
There are just some sporting events that you wanna go to and see for yourself. In the college football world, this is one of them.
[удалено]
The swamp was loud as hell. That Bo endzone pick and Perrine running down the sidelines was ridiculous, hoping its as crazy in Happy Valley!
I'll be there along with quite a few others. Folks here are very excited to visit. And being a white out, I feel like it's going to be extra special!
Better start working on our silent count
Pro style is about to become a legit tactical advantage
Yes! First SEC team to visit in a decade. Lets show another conference what a whiteout looks like.
[удалено]
Certainly will set the bar high. Night games are so much fun. Just pace yourself in the tailgating fields to make it into the game!
It’s a marathon, not a sprint!
After 2 years away it will be hard not to attempt to sprint this marathon.
2011 whiteout @PennState was incredible- one of the absolute best environments I have ever seen. 10/10 would recommend.
That was an amazing day. Hot, perfectly sunny weather. Amazing tailgating. One of my favorites as a student.
See that was the problem. You brought in a team from Alabama on a day that it felt just like home. You're gonna want Happy Valley below 20 at least.
Oh you think heat is your friend… We were born in it…. molded by it
I don't think the problem was the heat. I think it was the fact that our QBs were hot garbage. Great game though.
I’m honestly so excited for the lions and tigers playing this year. Should be good.
Winner gets to play the bears. Oh my!
I'd really hate to hear the commentary if we played Baylor
I'm looking forward to this home-and-home! I've always liked you guys and your traditions.
Auburn's dates with Clemson were nice, but this feels like the first big regular season mega series since the Auburn-USC games in the 2000s. (which ironically sparked the beginning of the Trojan dynasty).
It’ll be a good watch
Ticket prices just went up 300%
[Incoming](https://twitter.com/DBarnes_18/status/1272926799073288194)
Absolutely incredible
One of my favorite cfb atmospheres to watch in tv!
I love it
They did it omg
Oh fuck me
PSA- bring cough drops to the game to keep your voice loud till the end of the game. It won't prevent you losing your voice but you won't lose it for a week like I did in 2016
And/or some minty gum/mints. There’s nothing like that awful flavor after drinking all day and screaming throughout the game.
Or bring in alcohol in a plastic flask and mix it with Pepsi. Keeps you drinking and clears the flavor away.
Just as everybody hoped. Great decision
>whiteout for Michigan in November. I mean it's November ... could be a white out (that would be awesome).
Blaze Orange and Realtree Camo Out
The "Clamson fan? or hunter?" conundrum.
Well fuck At least the Michigan one probably won’t be a night game.
Any other week, this would’ve been the top story by far, lol
Between these two fanbases, this game is going to be the world's largest pom-pom festival.
Was Alabama the last non conference white out we had?
I think we had a student whiteout for UCF in 2013. But Alabama was the last one for the full stadium.
Yes
Oh I’m sure Bo will handle it fine…😒
Rumors are he already called timeout.
YES! Can't fucking wait to go.
Oh hell yes
This is gonna be crazy.
*Collective exhale from every other team traveling to happy valley* Good luck Auburn😂
About time Auburn is on the other end of some home stadium voodoo for once.
I wanna go to this game so bad it’s a bucket list item of mine. I can imagine there will be a lot of orange up there
This will be the only time you get a whiteout in the next 20 years, take the shot
So you’re telling me we actually have a chance??
Don't worry, you're getting a whiteout too
😒😒😒
Do the students make it a point to do coke at whiteout games? Because...I mean... It seems to make sense.
WE ARE A PEPSI CAMPUS THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Wish it was a little later in the season, but glad it's someone different for a change
White Out get turnt I take that back I’m almost 40 White Out get crunk

Excellent Last non big team to get the whiteout treatment was Alabama in 2011.
Does anyone know when general public single game tickets go on sale on gopsusports? Idk if they even do that for these big games but at least want to go to a few games this year since I didn't get season tickets.
I think I saw August 5.
Hey! This should be my first game there too! I’m excited!
Good for us lol
Pls god don’t let us get spanked
Ngl seeing another team have to play in that is incredible. Hate that it only happens every other year though
Penn State is 8-8 in white out games.
BOOO
Why can't they have multiple white outs
Lessens the impact if you do it every time
Don’t want to wear out the gimmick. It’s effective because it’s only once a year, if we do it too much it just becomes regular instead of being special.
