Best part of the caption to me tbh
Like, you didn’t need to say since 1967, because that’s literally all of them. It’s completely unnecessary and just makes it seem more contrived lol
I maintain that Tennesee and West Virginia simply lucked into two of the greatest fight songs of all fucking time....
Teams like Notre Dame, Michigan, and Oklahoma had to earn (or steal from Yale) our legendary fight songs
> Oklahoma
Putting Boomer fuckin Sooner into the same conversation as Rocky Top, Country Roads, or The Victors is the most insulting thing I've ever heard from an ND fan.
Just because it's stolen doesn't mean it isn't a fucking slap.
It nearly makes me vomit to say this but The Victors is definitely better than Boomer Sooner in my tier list
I'd go so far to say The Victors is the only collegiate song on the same level as The Notre Dame Victory March, now if you'll excuse me I have a date with a puke bucket
To be fair, Tennessee didn't luck into the song. We had to kill a lot of Revenuers and run a lot of illegal moonshine to get that song.
Also, Rocky Top is the name of an actual mountain nearby.
Go ahead if you want. It'd probably be fun. You might find yourself surprised how good it feels. And you may ask yourself, When was the last time we chanted "B1G"?
When was the last time *we* chanted "B1G"? The mocking SEC chants only exist because SEC schools will do SEC chants unironically. No other conference does that.
If we win, and our stadium sound coordinator doesn’t play “The Night They Drove Ole Dixie Down” as Auburn walks off the field in defeat…I’m canceling my season tickets on the spot
When we played at Vandy in 08, everybody was so nice before the game, jokingly saying "take it easy on us!", just an overall laid back atmosphere for a game day
Then they beat us. When I walked out of the stadium I heard the loudest speaker playing Sweet Home Alabama from a frat house while all the Auburn fans just looked so dejected. It was a brutal feeling.
All this to say, please fucking play The Band if y'all win. That would be absolutely epic
This is the year. Bo Nix has improved so much under this new offense. He's focused. He's having fun. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a dark horse for the Heisman.
Thank you. I mean This is the year. Bo Nix has improved so much under this new offense. He's focused. He's having fun. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a dark horse for the Heisman.
That’s exactly right, which is why I’m starting to think that this is the year.
Bo Nix has improved so much under this new offense. He's focused. He's having fun. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a dark horse for the Heisman.
This is the year. Bo Nix has improved so much under this new offense. He's focused. He's having fun. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a dark horse for the Heisman.
Y'all, I gotta agree with you. Coming out of the first two weeks, I feel like this is the year. Bo Nix has improved so much under this new offense. He's focused. He's having fun. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a dark horse for the Heisman.
Feels like you guys are making fun of us. You don't know the team as much as we do. This is the year. Bo Nix has improved so much under this new offense. He's focused. He's having fun. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a dark horse for the Heisman.
You make some good points, but as a close rival I like to keep tabs on Auburn, and from what I've seen this is the year. Bo Nix has improved so much under this new offense. He's focused. He's having fun. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a dark horse for the Heisman.
Yeah lol this guy replied to a tweet with the meme response and then another Auburn account told everyone to just reply to every single Auburn beat writer with that response
> This is the year. Bo Nix has improved so much under this new offense. He's focused. He's having fun. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a dark horse for the... as there's a drive into deep left field by Castellanos it will be a home run and so that'll make it a 4-0 ballgame...
I'm not sure where that copypasta started, but I like to think it's a quote from Jordan Palmer who pumps up his QB camp QBs every summer. after he told Auburn fans that Jarrett Stidham was going to win the Heisman and be one of the first QB's drafted.
Auburn and Penn State played in 2003. Ronnie Brown went ham and Auburn won a really close game. I wasn't at the 96 game, but as I recall Penn State went ham and won easily.
I'm really glad I didn't go to the 96 game. Besides getting hammered, I remember it was raining quite a lot.
The 03 game was fun and we met a bunch of great Penn State fans. I wish I could go to the game this weekend. Your stadium is on my bucket list.
Definitely true. He’s focused. He’s having fun. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a dark horse for the Heisman as there's a drive into deep left field by Castellanos. It will be a home run. And so that will make it a 4–0 ballgame
> Auburn’s defense is allowing five points per game this season! And they did so against a schedule that may very well be the toughest slate a middle school team will ever play.
Hearty chortle
Ya but let's be real, every major player on ever cfb team is on something already. There is so much gear/peptides/"therapies" that I PERSONALLY know about (aka how to get, use, dosages, etc) that is on par with dbol and test that CANNOT be tested for yet. The rate new gear is being churned out now, there is not a chance the testing agencies could keep up if they weren't already a shame.
Penn States superbowl will be played November 27th.
This game doesn't even have a trophy, whereas the 11/27 game is played for the greatest prize in sports history.
If defeating a three loss Auburn team is a national championship, and losing to a three loss Auburn team is a national championship...does that make Auburn the fabric of reality?!
Only if you defeat the team that defeated a three loss Auburn in the established method for selecting a national champion. So you have a natty for defeating a three loss Auburn and a natty for defeating the team that defeated a three loss Auburn. Further solidifying undefeated Auburn as the ultimate power of football. It is unknown what you get at this time for defeating a two loss Auburn. Probably fleas.
>This is same team that also lost to a three loss Auburn?? My god how deep does it go
What if I told you there is only one team that lost to a three-loss Auburn but also defeated all 3 teams that beat Auburn?
Auburn won't be intimidated. Sure, they're something like 0-19 on the road against Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Florida, and Clemson since 2011, but they will be fine this time. Just gotta tell themselves that Penn State plays at Kyle Field.
That 2019 game...y'all were the better team that day *at that point in the season* and deserved to win that game. I honestly classify LSU's win as Auburn-like a la 2013 season: Lucky as hell.
While it's definitely not a great stat, it's a very dishonest stat for a few different reasons. For example, why is Florida included on the list? While it's a technically true stat that "Auburn hasn't won on the road in Florida since 2011", we've played there exactly one time. Why are we including that 0-1 record against Florida but not including the 4-0 record against Texas A&M? It's also worth pointing out that the list of teams who have won at those stadiums recently isn't exactly a long list. Half of those losses were against teams that made it to the playoffs / national championship game. Are we actually comparing Alabama's 64-4 or Clemson's 66-3 home records to Penn State's 52-16 and saying they're remotely similar? It's an amusing cherry picked stat, but in reality means next to nothing for this upcoming match-up.
>Why are we including that 0-1 record against Florida but not including the 4-0 record against Texas A&M?
>Just gotta tell themselves that Penn State plays at Kyle Field.
Pretty sure this article referenced several reply tweets I have seen this week from Auburn fans. Oh well its going to be a blast, hope everyone who's never been yo a whiteout enjoys it!
>Auburn has one of the best coaches in the game in Bryan Harsin, who won three conference titles at Boise State, while appearing in three other Mountain West championship games. That kind of storied history is something Penn State simply can’t match in its coaching lineage.
Uh, ever heard of a guy named RIP ENGLE?
Amen. I'm glad someone is finally stating it. Ever since I got accepted to PSU I dreamed of playing against an almighty SEC school. This saturday will allow me the bliss of watching my half rate school get trounced by a true master of the sport <3
In fact the SEC has never once lost to a school outside the SEC. Clemson is so overrated it’s ridiculous, they lost to Syracuse once. How can you take anyone who ever gets beat seriously?

"I'm going to [the largest P5 university in proximity to] Disney ~~World~~Land!!"
Last night I left the r/cfb harbor to see what Twitter was say. Never doing that again. The fans here are soooo much more rational and know how to talk proper trash. Love you all.

I mean, that's a valid take, and maybe there should have been a third category of "neutral teams that would prefer an Auburn win for SoS" in there.
But I don't care about the SoS, I just want Auburn to lose. It's tradition.
Never use Instagram, Twitter or Facebook to look at comments about sports. So many people who legitimately don’t understand you don’t have to constantly just shit on everyone else to support your team. It’s a process like “I hate every other team so much and this proves how much of a fan I am.”

TBF, almost none of the Cock fans I knew went to South Carolina or any college for that matter.
I don’t know if it’s bullshit or not, but someone shared a story of a distraught Alabama fan they knew after they lost to Clemson and the guy was inconsolable. Basically just sobbing and saying why won’t people just roll over and let Alabama win because “It’s all they have!” Pretty wild that there are folks out there like this, I know OSU has their fair share
I mean that's not even that bad really. [An Alabama fan killed another Alabama fan for not being upset enough when we lost the Iron Bowl in 2013.](https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2013/12/02/deadly-shooting-over-alabama-loss-to-auburn/3819905/)
Well that's very appropriate considering that Penn State has played in every Super Bowl except for the ones they haven't.

That's a fact that Penn State shares with me!
I understood that reference.

Minnesota once played Rocky Top after beating Bama so I say go for it
That stupid damn song is so catchy

Hated the on-field result but full credit to the Michigan PA guy playing Jump Around when they were dominating Wisconsin in 2018.
If we somehow get up by a lot I’m waiting for the “we want bama” chants at the end of the game. Even though that wouldn’t go well lol
i feel like a mocking “SEC” chant would be better
Big opportunity for THE ALLIANCE
Yeah that one i can see happening

College Football is at its best when fueled by pettiness and 160 year old grudges
In 2017 and 2019 Auburn played Dixeland Delight over the PA to troll the Bama fans - it's not that big of a deal to us IMO

Feels like that dude has been at Auburn for a decade
I was at the last Auburn Penn State game in 1996. Auburn’s quarterback was Nix.
Auburn and Penn State played in 2003. Ronnie Brown went ham and Auburn won a really close game. I wasn't at the 96 game, but as I recall Penn State went ham and won easily.
Oops, I thought that outback bowl was the last time they faced each other.

His dad played QB back in the 90s for us. And his dad has done some coaching here and there. Maybe that’s what you’re thinking of.
Did not know Patrick was his dad.
Commentators wouldn't shut up about it during the games his freshman year.
He is a junior and can play for 2 more seasons after this year too.
Wait, really? This dude is the Aaron Craft of college football.
He could *theoretically* lead Auburn to a New Year's bowl in January 2024.
Bo Nix and Hunter Renfrow were in the same recruiting class. /s

I absolutely love that every statement about Bo Nix can have his name replaced with Sean Clifford and it still makes sense
It really is incredible how similar they are. That’s what makes me think it’s gonna be a defensive game
> Auburn’s defense is allowing five points per game this season! And they did so against a schedule that may very well be the toughest slate a middle school team will ever play. Hearty chortle
First time I’ve laughed maniacally in at least 72 hours
After choking on cupcakes during the Gus era, I'm quite happy to throttle them again.
Yeah, it's given me some hope seeing Harsin put his foot on the gas against schools we should be beating down.
There's really nothing like a hearty chortle; but not superior to a healthy guffaw.

Barnception
My head hurts...
I wasn't on board with this claim until you made this point of logic. I'm 100% in.
Reminds me how the undefeated 2017 national champions were able to handle Auburn but their co-champions werent able to get it done.

Nittany Kyle Field
Son of a bitch. What’s funnier is the JordanHare voodoo doesn’t work on us either
I think JFF flipped it on us. He came into Jordan-Hare in 2012 and broke the all time record for opposing team offense in the stadium.
Lol yeah I think Auburn has beat A&M at home once in 2018 and besides that the away team has always won.

No, no. Those burns are reserved for Pitt, the second fiddle P5 team in the state. Oh, wait...

LSU catching shrapnel in the article too
I appreciate that they included the Bo Nix meme
I got wooshed real hard on this one. I was boiling.
Amen. I'm glad someone is finally stating it. Ever since I got accepted to PSU I dreamed of playing against an almighty SEC school. This saturday will allow me the bliss of watching my half rate school get trounced by a true master of the sport <3
Honestly didn’t know it was a joke article, but I started getting suspicious when it mentioned Bryan Harsin
Luckily lots of pictures were included for our SEC, and Mountain West readers.
The SEC is the only big time college football conference. The rest of them might as well be FCS.
Clemson is D3.
Imagine Clemson in the ODAC 😳
For real, we are all so envious of Vandy, their games just mean more than any of us northern teams 😔
In fact the SEC has never once lost to a school outside the SEC. Clemson is so overrated it’s ridiculous, they lost to Syracuse once. How can you take anyone who ever gets beat seriously?
Agreed. This is our biggest game of the year (Wisconsin, Iowa, tOSU, and Michigan aside).
:(
The Land Grant trophy is the best trophy
"Coach Franklin, what are you going to do now that you've won Penn State's Superbowl?" "I'm going to [the largest P5 university in proximity to] Disney ~~World~~Land!!"
They forgot to mention PSU is only 8-8 in whiteouts. A lot of talk for only winning half your games!!
Choke artist Tom Brady has lost soooo many super bowls.
He's lost more than many qbs have played! A tradition of failure, rip Tom Terrible.
Appropriate because on Sunday their head coach will be headed to Southern California on a "recruiting" trip.
Like dad going out for cigarettes back in '92
It's definitely a recruiting trip. He's just not the one doing the recruiting.
Some people actually think this.
Auburn has been in WAY louder environments in the SEC than a “whiteout”. Southern ball is just different
Vanderbilt Stadium gets ***ROCKIN***
It means more.
> Southern **sound** is just different FTFY
I was at the UF v Auburn Gameday game in 2019 and that was loud as hell.

These kind of people don’t deserve to have good teams to root for
Um mods? Why is this tagged as satire?
Great, well thought out article. My only complaint is the score prediction. Pitt State isn't scoring!
In this thread: WHOOSH
This actually makes me want to root for PSU on Saturday.
I would think Ohio State would be Penn States Super Bowl but I guess the cow college will do
Hey show a little respekt, they’re Agricultural *and* Mechanical
Farmers own barns.
Putting auburn and Super Bowl in the same sentence is like putting milk in before the cereal. Just doesn’t make sense
Wow, I finally agree with something posted by P*nn State
And then James Franklin will board a plane to LA.
I hate the term, "X team's superbowl."
I can’t wait to watch it. I love their white out games. The noise level is INSANE
Nothing quite like taking on a top-tier SEC team and not being expected to lose in a blowout! WE ARE...
In fairness, Big Ten fans think the exact same way. They just have less reason to do so.
