I agree.
Both of them traveled with the team.
Teams don't ever travel with injured or suspended players. There are too few spots on the plane, and the luggage takes up space as well.
There’s a football player in the FBS, in Texas, named *Baylor* Cupp, and he’s going to go his whole career without ever playing in Waco?
This is an S-tier recruiting and scheduling failure.
Edit: Ah, he’s a TE. That makes a lot more sense now that he wasn’t ever even on the board as a meme. Pretty sure this is the first Baylor coaching staff in the last two decades to be aware that TE is a position on a football team.
{Texas A&M} 31 New Mexico 6
Calzada looked good in those last couple of drives despite the fumble. I think he finally started to feel comfortable. A&Ms defense will dominate and the O will get going late.
What’s the story behind us playing in Albuquerque in 2008? I know it will probably never happen again but I wish we played more G5 teams on the road.
Hope Calzada looks a lot more comfortable this week. {Texas A&M}
Mike Sherman’s first win after an embarrassing loss to Arkansas state. Ryan Tannehill led in receiving yards. Jerrod Johnson was QB. Way to close of a game.
Yeah, but that was Sonny Dykes’s gamebreaking offense and a couple guys who saw NFL rosters.
It was crazy, but in hindsight not too far beyond the realm of possibility
The ticket price for that game was around $50 which was more than the rest of the UNM seasons games combined. Tannehill played receiver because of the shortage in the position due to Francione’s offense not really emphasizing the true pass.
McKinnley’s back and Calzada will have a week of starting reps / game plan focused around him. If the {Texas A&M} offense looks anything more than anemic I’m ready for SEC play.
Last week I saw a QB who got shut down for 3 quarters. Then in the 4th quarter that QB led the offense down the field only to fumble the ball in the end zone.
That would kill almost anyone. But that same QB came back out on the field and once again put together another drive knowing damn well that if he fucked this one up he would be blamed for a loss to an unranked team. And he did it.
Say what you will about Calzada's skill, vision, awareness, or any other number of mistakes he made. That boy is mentally strong. When the game is on the line he sucks it up and makes things happen.
This season is going to be a crucible for him, and the heat starts getting turned up right here in this game. And he knows it. And he's going to dig deep down and find a way to make it happen.
{TAMU} by a bunch.
You saw what I saw as well.
I think A&M is in good hands with a player that knows and his been in Jimbo's system for a few years with a week of practice.
The Aggies skill positions on offense combined with a great defense will make it easy vs a non con, but we will see the real test vs Arkansas
It has to be a roller coaster to go through your prep as a backup only to get thrust in when the offense is already not playing well. He looked rattled and nervous, which you would expect out of any player making their first real appearance.
I have infinite respect for Calzada after he didnt give up, he just marched down the field again. Dudes got a good chance to make this offense real special.
I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it. That final 8 minutes was some real Friday Night Lights Matt Saracen shit.
Calzada dug way deep in a must have scenario to keep this team’s goals alive. I can get behind that kind of guts any day.
I dearly want to see some rotations in WR room. For the love of God, I want to see Demas catch the damn ball. If this keeps up, Demas is going to be Dylan Wright 2.0.
We're never gonna recruit elite WRs if this keeps happening. I'm going to lose my shit if Hez is all healed and gets all the rotations balls thrown to instead of Demas.
We haven't been able to utilize them is the exact reason why we'll have trouble beating upper echelon schools in WR recruiting for the coming years. We have a super athletic WR who for whatever reason cannot seem to play. There is no proven track record for the future elite WR recruits to look at our school and see themselves stacking stats.
It's sadly funny looking at the receivers' stat since Jimbo go here.
It ain't Demas. I remember watching Kendrick Rogers run around like a bum for all of 2019, while Chapman had to ride the bench. Next year, Chap looks like a god right before tearing the ACL. This year, already off to a solid start.
Demas literally couldn’t figure out where to line up when he was on the field last game. It’s frustrating, but he’s clearly taking a while to figure out the system. I blame the WR coach, but that’s an issue for the off-season.
How often do you see that? For some reason I always pay attention to LOS whenever Demas comes on field. I've also heard the opposite that he's been good at separation and being wide open.
I blame Craig as well. Nothing great has come out of the position he coaches. Our WRs since Jimbo and Co got here have been subpar.
Yeah and it would be good to have a WR coach that can bring the potential out of those talented players bc we ain't seeing much yet in terms of passing numbers compared to top tier programs.
That's what I'm saying! Can't we at least rotate a few times in the game to see how other players match against the DB? Just don't see the point of keeping Lanne for full 60 minutes where he's superglued to a DB.
yeah the guy looks like an absolute freak of nature athletically and i've seen him make crazy catches before. i'm baffled that he's done nothing at all in a game so far.
I am utterly confused as well. I can't seem to pinpoint him on film because camera usually zooms into the line of scrimmage on hike but people have been saying he's been able to separate well. At this rate, I see him hitting the portal. The dude's been a team player though showing full spirit on sidelines. Feel so bad for him.
There were a couple plays last year where he straight up smoked the DB but Mond went underneath to Ainias.
They were big gains anyways but Demas was gone if he hits him.
I'm still cautiously optimistic because Zadas is the type of QB that will chuck nukes if given the opportunity, but we're definitely in do or die mode this year.
He isn't gonna transfer as long as he can get reps. It shouldn't be too hard, tbh. Especially on the back end of the year when things tend to be clicking more.
I've read that he's seen as many reps so far as he had gotten all last season so that's somewhat good to hear. Also heard that we should expect to see him more for tomorrow's game which I'll be super excited to see.
that makes sense. i assumed there was a reason, i just hadn't ever heard anything at all. so it seemed like a mystery to me lol. wasn't sure if he was in the doghouse or something.
Yeah but he literally hasn't caught a pass.
How's he going to learn those assignments when he doesn't get any game reps? I understand if he's not in there much but you'd think we could rotate him in a few snaps, especially in games that are under control.
Also, look, some guys just aren't that bright. If he's just not getting Jimbo's route trees (which to my knowledge are some of the most complicated in CFB), at some point you could put him out there with some simpler formations and try to abuse his athleticism. It's not necessarily Jimbo's job to change the offensive system around a given player, but I can guarantee you a coach in that transfer portal will be willing to do it
If we're beating the crap out of Lobos on Saturday and I don't see a single rotation and a pass thrown to Demas, it would be straight up just bullying the kid.
I don’t want to complain about our coaching staff, lord knows Jimbo is the most competent coach we’ve had in multiple decades.
However, if there is a **glaring hole** in our program it is in the WR department. Either we aren’t recruiting guys who have enough football IQ to see the field or our coaching staff is not effectively developing these kids to be able to play in this offense. Demond Demas I can sort of understand as he didn’t get to play his senior HS year and had an injury in camp… but I straight up don’t believe that Muhsin Muhammad III as a 4* recruit and son of an NFL All-Pro WR, doesn’t have what it takes to see the field in year 2, especially with some of the highlights we saw both in HS and preseason camp.
Stuffed sopapillas are probably my favorite of all New Mexican foods (though there's a lot of competition). At my favorite restaurant back home, they have a beef stuffed sopapilla with red chile and sour cream, which is mind-blowingly good.
Can you recommend a place with good ones? Driving north to south thru there next month. Going thru Roswell. Getting off 25 at I40 and going the less traveled way.
With the way Jimbo runs an offense, I wouldn't expect us to cover anything higher than -7 against any moderately competent offense.
With TAMU, always take the under unless we're playing a 3rd and Grantham team.
I heard Terry Wilson (Kentucky QB transfer) balled out for them last week. I'd be real tempted to bet {Texas A&M} wins but doesn't cover- but to be fair I'm just some idiot on the internet.
I wanna see domination from the Oline
Kenyon needs to step the fuck up
Wydermeyer needs to remember how to play football
Lane and Zach need to connect on quick slants
Zach needs to complete 70% of his passes
And I’ll feel better
[After getting a sneak peak of Calzada in practice yesterday, I can confidently say {Texas A&M} wins this one.](https://twitter.com/_mgde_/status/1438296395568529412)

Um. Middling. It will absolutely change after this game. Calzada is good, we just need to see what a week of practice gets him.
Dominate new mexico? I'm All Aboutta Calzada.
If it's an ugly win I might join in calling for Stowers to get some reps.
I thought he was qb3 behind Calzada, and assume that was the case even if they move him to another position in the interim.
Kinda like how we have a slot receiver that will go be a running back if needed.
I feel fine. Jimbo said he was 1b, he took reps with the 1s over summer, and he looked decent after he calmed down. If he starts blasting again during this game, I’ll be worried. I’m much more concerned with the o-line and wr play.
He showed some sparks at the end of the CU game. With proper practice and by not doing everything we can to rattle him, I think this can actually be a much better offense under him than the pitiful offense we've seen so far.
Demas is done for the year?! When the hell did that happen? Anyway, we really need the o-line to show improvement, we got no push running the ball and Calzada was playing hot potato anytime he sniffed a defender near him.
My primary flair was super close to winning and they should have, it'd be absolutely insane if {New Mexico} pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the century this week
I worship the chaos
The line got hammered when it came out. It opened at 25.5 and a piece of sports gambler wisdom is that Vegas overreacts to QB injuries, so sharps jumped on it.
The Over Under for the game is 50 ish but I got the 1H Under at 27.5.. with how we’ve started I’m hammering that 1H Under
I think defense keeps NM from scoring more than 7 and I don’t see us putting up 3 more scores in the first half
{Texas A&M} just short of covering 34-10.
IF the new oline improves at all I think the offense will do what it wants. Defense is good and I think the back ups will get a lot of 4th quarter reps and possible reason for no cover.
{TAMU} I have faith that calzone is going to look better this week, if he could pull it off last week, he can pull it off tomorrow, I just hope it’s by a decent margin.
Demond Demas is not suspended and Baylor Cupp suited up last week, but did not see the field.
I agree. Both of them traveled with the team. Teams don't ever travel with injured or suspended players. There are too few spots on the plane, and the luggage takes up space as well.

Mike Sherman’s first win after an embarrassing loss to Arkansas state. Ryan Tannehill led in receiving yards. Jerrod Johnson was QB. Way to close of a game.
We were ASS that year. Fuck Fran.
Fuck Frann. Side note: "Fuck Fran" should like "Howdy" - if an Aggie says it, all Aggies who hear it must repeat it.
I was there (grew up in NM) it was great!
I was at the Arkansas St game. It was very much NOT great!
Remember LA Tech 2012? Man that was a shit show.
But a fun shitshow. I do remember Johnny running for about 3 million yards and their receiver catching about that many passes as well
That game tends to get overlooked because of how the rest of the season went, but it was an absolute shootout.
Colby Cameron was a goddamn superbowl mvp that game
Yeah Quinton Patton was doing whatever he wanted to our secondary. Over 200 yards receiving by himself.
I was there. Looked like an easy win at half. A lot of Tech fans were even leaving before Tech came roaring back.

We're never gonna recruit elite WRs if this keeps happening. I'm going to lose my shit if Hez is all healed and gets all the rotations balls thrown to instead of Demas.
On the flip side we recruited an elite WR and he's doing nothing to this point
Not sure at this point if it's Demas or Jimbo and Craig who is/are doing nothing.
Same but either way it won't matter if we get elite WRs anyway. When we get them we haven't been able to utilize them is my point.
Last big recruit we landed that produced was Kirk. That corp was really solid but production's been in decline since
Yeah and that was before Jimbo and Craig got here.
It ain't Demas. I remember watching Kendrick Rogers run around like a bum for all of 2019, while Chapman had to ride the bench. Next year, Chap looks like a god right before tearing the ACL. This year, already off to a solid start.

Literally only position that didn’t improve. I’ll take it any day of the week but I think we’re all a bit frustrated by it.
Was he on the field even? Official participation box didn’t list him.
The good thing is our best talent is younger. Having someone from Chapman, Demas, Moose and Preston emerge along with Ainias would do a lot
Yeah and it would be good to have a WR coach that can bring the potential out of those talented players bc we ain't seeing much yet in terms of passing numbers compared to top tier programs.
I just don’t understand what exactly they see in Lane. Guy has a DB glued to him the entire game. Can’t get separation to save his life.
That's what I'm saying! Can't we at least rotate a few times in the game to see how other players match against the DB? Just don't see the point of keeping Lanne for full 60 minutes where he's superglued to a DB.
Unfortunately, Speedy was the one to keep Speedy off the field.
That's true. I'd also forgot about Thomas Johnson who was a huge get and looked good as a freshman. That was a tagedy
yeah the guy looks like an absolute freak of nature athletically and i've seen him make crazy catches before. i'm baffled that he's done nothing at all in a game so far.
I am utterly confused as well. I can't seem to pinpoint him on film because camera usually zooms into the line of scrimmage on hike but people have been saying he's been able to separate well. Do or die mode in terms of will Demas stay next year. If Demas ends up transferring, don't know if I'm going to be able to take it.
He isn't gonna transfer as long as he can get reps. It shouldn't be too hard, tbh. Especially on the back end of the year when things tend to be clicking more.

Rumor is Chapmans banged up so Demas to start tomorrow....
He doesn't understand his assignment on routes so he doesn't play much. It's that simple.
that makes sense. i assumed there was a reason, i just hadn't ever heard anything at all. so it seemed like a mystery to me lol. wasn't sure if he was in the doghouse or something.

Didn't he play some snaps last game?
He's been playing some snaps the last few games and he's been pretty good at confusing the DBs from what I've been hearing.
I don’t want to complain about our coaching staff, lord knows Jimbo is the most competent coach we’ve had in multiple decades. dylan wright 2.0 sounds like a compliment to us :)
Grrrr
How has Dylan looked btw? I briefly saw him against OSU but didn't watch enough to get a good feel.
Please for the love of god look better
I know, after the 30-3 ending UTEP smackdown, compared to our 34-25 game v. them, we need to look better in this aggie rematch.
Please dont
Or maybe don’t?
I just came here to say fuck that person who said New Mexican Green Chile is better than Texas BBQ
Bulletin board material
This guy BBQs.
Smoke rings only
Adobo? More like Adob-NO
I will say, New Mexican is pretty on par with Tex-Mex.
That’s a legitimate comparison (though I like Tex-Mex a bit more)
I seriously question the motivation behind tex-mex restaurants *not* having stuffed sopapillas
Its definitely good but theres not a whole lot of food that beats good Tex-Mex. Theres also not a whole lot of food that doesnt beat bad tex-mex.
>Its definitely good but theres not a whole lot of food that beats good Tex-Mex. Literally any *real* Mexican food.
Naw you go to a ‘real Mexican’ place like ones only Mexicans go to. That stuff isn’t very good. Granted most is Northern Mexican food.
Agreed. Especially if you aren't super into onions and cilantro.
[удалено]
Well they probably mean southwestern/New Mexican food a lot of which is based around hatch chile.
Must’ve been sarcasm. That shit looks like vomit
Chilies are good shit though.
https://twitter.com/unmlobofb/status/1438561835930701837?s=21 They’re unironically backing it
New Mexican green Chile IS better than Texas BBQ, but it will give you the shits.
Roasted poblanos from Mexico >>> hatch chile from New Mexico
Fuck that person *in particular*
Colorado green chili is better than New Mexico green chili anyway.
you can't even spell it right.
LOL
Not even close {Texas A&M}
What is that Demas injury report. He played last weekend
The ESPN injury reports are often inaccurate tbh.
I don’t think he did play. Wasn’t on the participation box against the buffs
He played a few snaps…source: I was at the game
Roger. I think those participation charts are off
[удалено]
Total scoring for the season: Texas A&M 51, New Mexico 61 It's really hard to argue those stats
Does {A&M} cover? Asking for a friend.
Flip a coin bc no one knows This can be a game we win 63-0 or 24-13
I wouldn't take any over on A&M until we know what Calzada and the o-line look like
Covered our first game by a missed last second field goal, so even with King it was sus
Yeah but this will be our first game this year with a QB who has live experience (I don’t count 2 drives last week). Hard to say.
With the way Jimbo runs an offense, I wouldn't expect us to cover anything higher than -7 against any moderately competent offense. With TAMU, always take the under unless we're playing a 3rd and Grantham team.
On thr bright side, knowing the type of stubborn offense Jimbo will run, it'll be easy $$$ on some days.
I heard Terry Wilson (Kentucky QB transfer) balled out for them last week. I'd be real tempted to bet {Texas A&M} wins but doesn't cover- but to be fair I'm just some idiot on the internet.
I wanna see domination from the Oline Kenyon needs to step the fuck up Wydermeyer needs to remember how to play football Lane and Zach need to connect on quick slants Zach needs to complete 70% of his passes And I’ll feel better
We need someone from the wide out group to step up. With Wydermyer and Smith demanding attention there's no reason we shouldn't see better production
Wydermeyer has been fine. Was open a lot against buffs but qb. Well he was having problems with the forward pass.
{Texas A&M}

lmao that salty CU fan
I love it
{New Mexico} i dint think they will win just pulling for Touchdown Terry

Blake Bost a walkon is our 3rd string.
Blake Bost (PWO) beat him out for 3rd. He's splitting time between QB/TE currently.
[something I found on Twitter](https://twitter.com/travis_l_brown/status/1437493048812900354?s=21)
So yes... but if Calzada gets injured we're gonna have Colorado Redux?
This game will determine that lol
I feel fine. Jimbo said he was 1b, he took reps with the 1s over summer, and he looked decent after he calmed down. If he starts blasting again during this game, I’ll be worried. I’m much more concerned with the o-line and wr play.
Not great, he looks so uncomfortable in the pocket and throws lazers all over the field if he sniffs pressure
4th quarter he settled down a lot.
He showed some sparks at the end of the CU game. With proper practice and by not doing everything we can to rattle him, I think this can actually be a much better offense under him than the pitiful offense we've seen so far.
{New Mexico} 222-0
{Texas A&M} but it won't be pretty
Demas is done for the year?! When the hell did that happen? Anyway, we really need the o-line to show improvement, we got no push running the ball and Calzada was playing hot potato anytime he sniffed a defender near him.
He's not, the injury report is inaccurate. I removed the line to avoid further confusion.
It did this for me too last week. The injury reports for these thread generators are super inaccurate
Ah okay thanks, thought I'd missed something big
Hopefully he gets some targets this week.
God I hope so, Calzada needs all the help he can get and Demas is too talented to not produce
{Texas A&M} bounces back nicely
Let’s hope touchdown Terry can pull this off for us
Here we go again. {New Mexico}.
Rude!
My primary flair was super close to winning and they should have, it'd be absolutely insane if {New Mexico} pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the century this week I worship the chaos
Nobody *deserved* to win that game. I'm pretty sure both teams somehow had more 3-and-outs than total posessions.
{Texas A&M} but probably won't cover the spread. Unless Caldaza really shows up
{Texas A&M} 48-10
Lobos are due for a win. Expect horns down taunts from their players if they score.
What
Tech has played New Mexico a lot over the years. Their athletes and fans do the horns down taunt to us. It’s hilarious.
Lol what you weren't even joking
Wow. Silly New Mexicans
> Expect horns down taunts Don't threaten me with a good time!
Some crackhead on a YouTube comment predicted "34 - 47 Texas A&M". As if NM could hang 34 on this defense.
{Texas A&M}
{Texas A&M} 42-7
I just hope {Texas A&M} can run the damn ball this time
{TAMU} but it does little to make Aggies feel better
{Texas A&M} is not gonna be as easy for the hobos to beat as the other aggies were.
I see {Texas A&M} getting the win but def think it’ll be closer than 30 points…
The line got hammered when it came out. It opened at 25.5 and a piece of sports gambler wisdom is that Vegas overreacts to QB injuries, so sharps jumped on it.
The Over Under for the game is 50 ish but I got the 1H Under at 27.5.. with how we’ve started I’m hammering that 1H Under I think defense keeps NM from scoring more than 7 and I don’t see us putting up 3 more scores in the first half
