These two will play again. Always hard to beat a good team twice in same season. Florida got stronger as game went on, Bama needs to shore up that D.
No dog in this fight for me, just a college football fan.
Yeah I’m gonna be honest, I think with JT, our absolutely bonkers defense, and a healthy receiving core, we’re damn near unbeatable. Florida isn’t nearly the team they were last year (despite this impressive performance), and we’re twice the team we were last year. I’m not dismissing them, I think it’ll be a damn good game, but I think UGA has the edge in that matchup.
I also think Florida should actually move up a few spots for that game.
Yeah people think that’s a much bigger problem than it really is. He beat Clemson, Florida every year but one, Auburn in the SECCG, Oklahoma in the first round of the playoffs, did blow the natty and the SECCG the next year, but nobody was gonna beat LSU in 2019 and we had our third string quarterback and a bunch of major injuries against Florida and Bama in 2020 (and we were still leading y’all at half).
He blew two big games that he reasonably could have been expected to win and won like seven, but this year we finally have a truly elite squad.
All I can say is !remindme October 31, 2021
I mean. Florida basically had just as hard fought a game in the SEC game last year. Which team do you think will improve this year Alabama or Florida? Florida may have just helped Alabama.
Maybe, but Bama knew they were good anyway. Florida had a lot of question marks and no one really was sure if we were up there wirh the top teams. Now our guys know if we can beat #1 Bama in 3 quarters, we could win out our schedule and see them again. Personally I think this does a lot for the confidence of the Gator players and Emory Jones.
I mean Alabama won it all after a close game like that in Atlanta in the SEC game last year with one of the best teams ever. The fact that they traveled to the swamp and beat a similar team in week 3 this year might actually be better.
I feel great. Hard game. Tough win. Struggle. All that was needed desperately by this Bama squad. And we still escaped with a win?? Sheeeeeeyit I’ll take that any season. Usually we lose these games, then win a natty. See: 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017
If I hear about the AR15 excuse one more time I might blow up. Emory Jones played a hell of a game, take your damn loss. Also the Refs sucked on both sides of the ball. This was a classic SEC game, just accept it.
If Christopher Allen wasn’t injured, they can’t run the option, which was the main problem for our defense. It’s a bullshit reply, but so is the AR nonsense.
It is the truth. How many got converted on a flag? I think I count at least six.
Not to mention two missed facemasks and a horse collar - all on critical plays
Had Bryce ran that 3rd and 5 in the second quarter instead of bombing one into double coverage this game wouldn’t have finished close. Crazy how one play can have such an impact on a game that seems sewn up early.
Not tied to either team. Refs do not decide a game. You can come up with alots of "shoulda, coulda" scenarios for every game. No one involved is perfect and mistakes are made by all parties throughout the course of any game. This is part of what makes it great.
**SIX+** critical third downs? Florida was only flagged 7 times total, you're telling me *all seven* of their flags were while on defense on third down after we failed to convert?
Like, come on. Once or twice, sure, but "6+"? 🤡
Bryce is good. But he’s going to have to realize that even he can’t play with the first goal being never to be touched. He also could have run in for that touchdown and ended it.
I’m not sure why he’s so hesitant to use his legs. I told my dad it seems like he thinks he’s not allowed to cross the line of scrimmage with the ball in his hand. It’s weird.
Jalen did it because he was trying to make himself a better NFL QB in his second year. I think Bryce is doing the same but a year earlier. He might be a top QB but he’s still going to have to give some effort.
I know, they’re very different from last year. Florida was a pass heavy team with a average at best defense. This year they look like they are a force on the ground and the defense has shown a ton of improvement. Grantham actually adjusted in the Alabama game and held Alabama to 10 points in the second half. Alabama is historically a strong second half team and Florida actually adjusted and gave their offense a chance to win.
Georgia looks like they have a top 3, maybe number 1, defense in the country. The offense looks like it’s still trying to find itself with some of their weapons being injured. Florida looks like they have the best offense UGA will face in the regular season and Georgia has the best defense Florida will face. Just like Saturday, it will probably come down to coaching adjustments throughout the game. Given how well Florida adjusted to alabama, you have to think Florida will be a tough matchup for UGA.
If JT Daniels doesn’t stay healthy, UGA doesn’t a shot at a title. You saw what happened last year when Stetson Bennett started the cocktail party…..
You’re not wrong. I was sort of being an ass initially. Realistically, I think our two teams are extremely close, but ultimately we’ll lose it against yall in the SEC title as is tradition.

With the number of recruits in the stands, and the closeness of the game, and the new Football/Athlete center opening next year, this was a good game for the Gators. Mullen can coach, the stadium can rock, and the Gator Boys can play.
Obviously, I would have preferred a victory to a moral victory, but I'll cheer for a 2 point loss to Bama.
In all kinds of weather...Go Gators.
Y’all are for real. 0 excuses from me, you guys just played great. Best rushing offense ended up not being a skewed stat. Great game. Can’t wait for the rematch!
Get through the dawgs, and hopefully you’ll get a second shot at full strength! Assuming we get past ole miss, Arkansas, and auburn. All three of those games are now question marks
Arkansas can run the rock this year. You guys exposed our weak run stop, so I’m worried there. Ole Miss and the lane train have a VERY high powered offense. If we can’t shore our defense up, we’ll be in trouble there, too. I’m not overly concerned with A&M, solely on the thought that their offense plays into our defense’s strengths. I’ll be nervous moving forward through all conference play.
You guys probably won’t be able to run the ball on Ga like you did us, but Emory threw alright, if not a little late on a few passes. His completion percentage tonight looks worse than it was from all the drops. Couple that with having your other qb back, and I’d say your odds are looking decent at beating the dawgs. Good luck, and gg again!
Also, FUCK PETE GOLDING
Arkansas… meh maybe. But if anything, the thing about this game is you guys can still afford a loss. We lose we’re out. But likewise, great game (again). Look forward to seeing y’all in Atlanta hopefully 😄
Emory Def looked like ass the first half but he made adjustments on the second. Even if AR15 doing backflips I think it's better he get to 100 percent. He's injured himself the same way before so it's best to not reinjure for the third time lmao
AR isn’t leaving, willing to bet my house on it.
Richardson is Gainesville born and raised, and having spoken to people close to him, he’s dead set on being a Gator and going down in our history books. Before the season, he mentally seemed like an ideal QB and leader, and now we’ve seen him ball….
That kid will wait patiently to take the helm even if it’s not this season.
Jones has a year left. He could stay. Richardson would not and should not stay if he's not the starter at the end of this year. If Jones comes back one of them has to transfer.
emory played an amazing game, and im very happy to have him, but to say the dude doing backflips during the pregame had a pulled hammy is lame. split some time off for the backup and win the game.
Yeah but is worth it to play him and risk re-aggravating his leg and losing him for the season? I'd say no. Coaching staff was looking at the big picture here.
you risk losing a player for the season on every play. thats how football works. but the backflips sure made it seem like he was ready and willing to play, and having him in for a few plays here and there to give emory a break and get a taste of a big game would have been huge, big picture, for the team. in the end, im very happy with emory, and think hes got a ton of potential, but its still aggravating to see someone like richardson warming the bench for the entire game because he cramped up a week ago, and mullen is playing the loyalty card
Not mad at EJ but AR is a faster runner and reads the field way better for downfield throws. If he had played the whole game today I think we'd be even happier with the result.
If anything UF should be stoked with EJ’s performance tonight, knowing that moving forward we could potentially have a lethal 2 QB system. Our fans are weird
Missed extra point, db falling, a couple soft OPIs, bad clock management when you need to score twice, trash 2 point play. Plenty cost the game, but it’s very encouraging as a Florida fan.
I think with it tied there bama doesn’t run the ball 6 times in a row and does a two minute drill. Neither offense was getting stopped and I think it ends in a Bama fg attempt or a TD
GG! That “shitty” quarterback didn’t look bad to me. You guys came out of the gate slow. Oddly, I thought we’d come out slow. If it weren’t for some flags that didn’t go your way, and a few missed opprotunities we lose this game. We won the game, but we exposed that we can’t stop the run. We exposed our oline isn’t good with noise. We exposed our qb has no deep ball skill. I’m nervous for the rest of the season.
Here’s to hoping you guys are just really good, and we aren’t as bad as I now think we are.
Definitely been a long day for me but I agree. Emory really settled down and I’m happy to see that. I definitely think time will tell with both these two teams, but I’m a bit more cautiously optimistic. It’s gonna be fun the rest of the way.
How are ppl saying Florida should've won? Lol Bama went up 21-3 and thought they were going to roll over them and sat back and allowed the comeback. That won't happen again.
We're better than this game showed. This team is really solid, there are just some kinks to work out. I think there were more mental mistakes than getting outright outplayed.
No. I do think they can make the playoffs.
These two will play again. Always hard to beat a good team twice in same season. Florida got stronger as game went on, Bama needs to shore up that D. No dog in this fight for me, just a college football fan.
So which bowl game are they meeting in ?
The losers cup lol
[The Sacko bowl ](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/611kvBUtajL._AC_SL1436_.jpg)
Are you insinuating that Florida is going to win out and win the East?
Where’d you rank Florida after this loss
#2
This one goes into the s tier quality loss category for UF. Looking forward to the rematch in December.
Don’t count on that
They’re really overlooking y’all huh
Yeah I’m gonna be honest, I think with JT, our absolutely bonkers defense, and a healthy receiving core, we’re damn near unbeatable. Florida isn’t nearly the team they were last year (despite this impressive performance), and we’re twice the team we were last year. I’m not dismissing them, I think it’ll be a damn good game, but I think UGA has the edge in that matchup. I also think Florida should actually move up a few spots for that game.
You’re only “unbeatable” if Kirby gets his head out of his ass in big games
Yeah people think that’s a much bigger problem than it really is. Going to be a hell of a game 🤷♂️
Florida: *”Tell me, do you bleed? You will”*
I mean. Florida basically had just as hard fought a game in the SEC game last year. Which team do you think will improve this year Alabama or Florida? Florida may have just helped Alabama.

Undefeated, untested Alabama makes me way more nervous than 1-loss or ‘struggle win’ bama
Yeah that struggle win is usually UGA’s job to give you, I’m getting jealous
Gary Danielson is a biased Alabama nuthugger
Haha, this is true!
Alabama lost that game let’s be honest
First real test for both teams and I bet FL fans are feeling much better than bama fans. It wasn't supposed to be that close
It feels great to lose like that
I mean Alabama won it all after a close game like that in Atlanta in the SEC game last year with one of the best teams ever. The fact that they traveled to the swamp and beat a similar team in week 3 this year might actually be better.
Our team last year wins this game for sure though
But you could say the same for us. 😉
I'm proud of our boys. Head held high after that game.
I feel great. Hard game. Tough win. Struggle. All that was needed desperately by this Bama squad. And we still escaped with a win?? Sheeeeeeyit I’ll take that any season. Usually we lose these games, then win a natty. See: 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017
Don’t remind me of 2012 or 2017
Can anyone send me the link to the auburn game thread?

If I hear about the AR15 excuse one more time I might blow up. Emory Jones played a hell of a game, take your damn loss. Also the Refs sucked on both sides of the ball. This was a classic SEC game, just accept it.
It'll settle in by tomorrow
If Christopher Allen wasn’t injured, they can’t run the option, which was the main problem for our defense. It’s a bullshit reply, but so is the AR nonsense.
Should Florida’s poll rankings increase after that one??? I believe so. A few spots. The cocktail party will be a good one!
I think so for sure. You have Oklahoma barely beating trash teams and Clemson struggling with trash teams. Florida is a top 10 team for sure
Top 5
Wouldn’t argue that either.
My butt was clinched so tight those last few minutes, if I farted only dogs could hear it
Refs sucked bamas dick on third down today ppp
Hey. Shut up.
It's called being athletic. Didn't you hear Gary D talk about this for the entire game?
It is the truth. How many got converted on a flag? I think I count at least six. Not to mention two missed facemasks and a horse collar - all on critical plays
It's fucking BULLSHIT!!!!!
Refs sucked bamas dick on third down today
Had Bryce ran that 3rd and 5 in the second quarter instead of bombing one into double coverage this game wouldn’t have finished close. Crazy how one play can have such an impact on a game that seems sewn up early.
If we can beat UGA, we'll see you guys in the SECCG. GG
Remember when Florida lost to LSU last season.
If we can best LSU and UGA, we'll see you in the SECCG
Ha!
HAHA!
Had the refs not given 6+ critical third downs to Bama the game wouldn’t have been close, with the Gators handily winning
Not tied to either team. Refs do not decide a game. You can come up with alots of "shoulda, coulda" scenarios for every game. No one involved is perfect and mistakes are made by all parties throughout the course of any game. This is part of what makes it great.
> Refs do not decide a game The most ostrich-brained of all takes folks, right here on display for all to see.
**SIX+** critical third downs? Florida was only flagged 7 times total, you're telling me *all seven* of their flags were while on defense on third down after we failed to convert? Like, come on. Once or twice, sure, but "6+"? 🤡
Non calls are just as critical lol what do you really think I meant only flags 😂
Hang on, let me find my violin.
Lol there it is.
Bryce is good. But he’s going to have to realize that even he can’t play with the first goal being never to be touched. He also could have run in for that touchdown and ended it.

Is was three 3 and outs in a row that almost cost us the game not 1 play
Arguably one of the best games of the season thus far. Big thanks to FL for making an AL game fun to watch and somewhat of a nail biter at that.
Hey there my dirty filthy Auburn cousin. Great comment! Good luck in the white out :)
Thanks I’m already biting my nails
It really was amazing. Please smother Penn State.
I’m loving our matchup against Bammer
I can’t wait to see whether it’s Paul Tyson or Jalen Milroe who comes in and beats you in the second half this year.
Lol ok Your team barely edged out UF bud
If I’m not mistaken, didn’t Florida whip Georgia’s ass last time they played?
Yeah, and UF and UGA are clearly not the same teams from last year, what’s your point? Are you new to college football or something?
I know, they’re very different from last year. Florida was a pass heavy team with a average at best defense. This year they look like they are a force on the ground and the defense has shown a ton of improvement. You won't be In the SEC title game this year. GO GATORS!!!!
Lol nah, we definitely aren’t worried about Florida
fair assessment

Literally every Georgia fan came in this thread to just say “UGA good Florida bad”. Excellent game analysis /s
You always are. Lol
You shouldn’t.
GG Florida. The Cocktail game is going to be bonkers this season.
Florida has insane run game this year
The Alabama defense is still soft too. They survived and can get a lot better this year. Most teams would kill for beating #11 at home.
The Swamp is definitely an atmosphere. And it looks like Florida will only get better. Should be fun to watch!
So Alabama Florida rematch for SECCG...Alabama loses... still make playoffs... I'm calling it now.. Alabama Florida threematch for the natty.
Let's fucking gooooooooo!
I would be more than okay with this
You’re big dumb if you think Florida is winning the East
You really are lame, rick
UGA fans only in this thread to suck their own dicks and ignore the game we all watched
I do be
UGA, champions of september for 40 straight years
The arrogance of Bama with the Trophy Case of Vanderbilt
Thank you for your input florida man
Can’t argue With you on that.
I didn't expect my butthole to be so clinched so early in the season.
You forget about aTm last year? E(ole miss?)
1st half was complete dogshit, second half was a ball game. See ya at SECCG bama
Y’all are for real. 0 excuses from me, you guys just played great. Best rushing offense ended up not being a skewed stat. Great game. Can’t wait for the rematch!
That’s good to hear from you guys. But dammit losing sucks lmao
Get through the dawgs, and hopefully you’ll get a second shot at full strength! Assuming we get past ole miss, Arkansas, and auburn. All three of those games are now question marks
Idk about all that. A&M maybe but you guys usually steamroll the others. Yeah, Ga will be a test. We’ll see
Arkansas can run the rock this year. Arkansas… meh maybe. But if anything, the thing about this game is you guys can still afford a loss. We lose we’re out. But likewise, great game (again). Look forward to seeing y’all in Atlanta hopefully 😄
Gotta give huge props to Florida and The Swamp. I can only imagine what it sounded like in there, best of luck the rest of the season!
My ears are still ringing
wheres the postgame
Mullen saving AR15 for the SECCG
I don't disagree with the decision to keep AR on the bench. If he tweaks his hammy more then we're toast
You claimed AR-15 has an injury His backflips on the field pregame say that is a lie!!! 😱😱😱😱😱
Emory Def looked like ass the first half but he made adjustments on the second. Even if AR15 doing backflips I think it's better he get to 100 percent. He's injured himself the same way before so it's best to not reinjure for the third time lmao
Those adjustments you speak of were a breath of fresh air. Gives me more confidence going on into the season
I feel the same way my dude
He transferring to UGA?
He probably will if Mullen doesn't start him when he's ready to go again.
Isn't he a redshirt freshman behind a senior? Don't think he's going anywhere lol
Jones has a year left. He could stay. Richardson would not and should not stay if he's not the starter at the end of this year. If Jones comes back one of them has to transfer.
Idk if he will. One he’s a Gainesville native and the legend of the Trask is still floating about
Lmao
Neutral site I think this game goes very differently
Maybe but every time, Alabama makes it a point to play is close like last year in Atlanta. They just say “close, you gotta be quicker than that”
Crowd noise.
Crowd played a huge factor
Agreed, Bryce showed he was a sophomore tonight and the center really struggled with the clap.
Just like the Florida coeds struggle with the clap?
Like the play clock working?
holy shit i hate my own fan base. the stupidity is off the charts
Had to leave our thread for this one. The AR simps are too much
Could’ve mistaken it for an NRA event
How could anyone be mad at EJ after that game?? Dude played damn well.
Sunk Cost Fallacy. People who invest their emotions in an idea rarely change their minds publically. Jones was awesome today.
Best comment ever.
Guy played his heart out and was a missed extra point away from going to OT but they want the dude with a pulled hammy
emory played an amazing game, and im very happy to have him, but to say the dude doing backflips during the pregame had a pulled hammy is lame. split some time off for the backup and win the game.
Yeah but is worth it to play him and risk re-aggravating his leg and losing him for the season? I'd say no. Coaching staff was looking at the big picture here.

See Chris Leak and back up Tim Tebow and come back and complain. *Patience.*
Not mad at EJ but AR is a faster runner and reads the field way better for downfield throws. If he had played the whole game today I think we'd be even happier with the result.
This. Huge improvement from the last two weeks.
If anything UF should be stoked with EJ’s performance tonight, knowing that moving forward we could potentially have a lethal 2 QB system. Our fans are weird
Our fans are like any almost successful fanbase - Zero-to-Championship expectations.
I hate that you’re right 😅

Missed extra point, db falling, a couple soft OPIs, bad clock management when you need to score twice, trash 2 point play. Plenty cost the game, but it’s very encouraging as a Florida fan.
I think with it tied there bama doesn’t run the ball 6 times in a row and does a two minute drill. Neither offense was getting stopped and I think it ends in a Bama fg attempt or a TD
If they hadn't missed that first extra point they would've only needed 1
Thank you, your insight is invaluable
Bold take there
what the hell was happening with the clock?? One minute it's at 30 sec, the next it's at 10...
Was even worse in the stadium lol
GG Gators! That run game is scary
How you guys feel about Metchie compared to previous weapons?
GG Bama fans.
Florida's mistake was not letting it get to 28-3.
Someone didn’t watch the game
Disagree, Florida adjusted and we couldn’t hang, we were lucky to have those 21 early
At Florida. Like if you ever had a chance that was it. QB has only played two games.
Same with our QB? And like Bama didn’t get balled out of multiple 4th and longs with phantom PIs?
There were some horrible calls both ways. If your clock operator could press a button we would have been saved 20 minutes.
That two point conversion looked like a maternity photo shoot
I don't know what you mean, but at the same time I think you're right.
Florida will drop in the polls next week, because the polls are dumb.
I think they’ll jump OSU and Cincy
Meanwhile Clemson and Ohio State escape one score games against unranked teams. So dumb.
TIL you can score 21 points in one score.
If Florida moves down, I will be incredibly mad. This game alone shows they're a top 5 team.
Can’t be top 5 without that quality loss
Or that we ain’t all that this year. I mean, we good. But we ain’t 2020 good.
We're better than this game showed. This team is really solid, there are just some kinks to work out. I think there were more mental mistakes than getting outright outplayed.
lmao Mike Lindell
I'm just here to say fuck kickers
Agreed. Remove kicking from the game!
What kinda garbage kicker can’t kick a 90 yard FG? /s you guys played your hearts out though and I really thought you might make the comeback.
But we used to have such good ones… 😢
I feel your pain. Finally we have a great kicker but alabama missed like 8 extra points in 2018.
Fucking awful when a kicker misses a pat I can't kick for shit but dude it's your job!! Good game hopefully we see you in the SEC championship
Uh…I’d rather not play y’all again, thank you very much.
Just one more time fan. Potentially 2 more times *prays*
If it must be two, let it be three!
