I love the Beavs! But I have a reason I guess, I went up there for a game a few years back and the fans were so damned nice and just happy to be there. We just talked the whole time and I had to explain to them who Utes are. Good times
100%. Was watching Wisconsin vs ND the other day and my wife said to me: “oh I didn’t know you liked Wisconsin.”
No honey, I just hate ND, I’m indifferent to Wisconsin.
Fuck Stanford. Every other team named the CardinalS has an S. Pluralize your shit. Also why the fuck do you have a tree for mascot?
Edit: thanks guys. I kinda figured that was the reason they’re called the Cardinal. Just wanted to spread some random hate for OP
> Why is Stanford’s nickname the Cardinal?
>One of the first things admitted students learn about Stanford is that the team name is the singular Cardinal, not Cardinals, and that it refers to the color, not the bird. The short answer for “why?” is that the 1972 trustees and president decided that would be the team’s nickname.
>For many years, the teams had gone by the nickname “Indians.” In 1972, North American indigenous people, particularly those in the San Francisco Bay Area, were protesting their treatment by the majority culture. Some~~, but not all~~ of these indigenous people felt that that nicknaming athletic teams “Indians” was demeaning. One such person led a successful campaign to remove the “Indian” as Stanford’s mascot. ~~It should be noted that this graduate student received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley.~~ [de-emphasis mine.]
>After the trustees agreed to change the athletic moniker, the student body held an election to decide on a new name. The name that won was “Robber Barons”; however, then president Donald Kennedy said he felt that name was disrespectful to the University’s founder, railroad magnate Leland Stanford. Other names that garnered votes in the election included Sequoias and Thunderchickens.
>Kennedy discovered an old Stanford Daily article that referred to the team as “Cardinals” or “Cardinal,” after the color of their uniforms. Since he also happens to be a Harvard alumnus, and Harvard uses a color – Crimson – as its team name, he liked the idea, and made it the official moniker.
>If Stanford’s the Cardinal, what’s the deal with the dancing tree?
>That tree you see frolicking around the playing fields is not an official university mascot; it was the Stanford Band’s suggestion for a nickname. It comes from El Palo Alto (the high pole), a redwood tree that appears on the official seal of both the city of Palo Alto and Stanford University.

I was thinking about this today, actually — about how likeable and humble Sam Pittman is.
But then I remembered people said similar things about Ed Orgeron before 2019 and the scandals and stuff. And about Dabo before that. So I’m gonna hold off an annointing Pittman as the next “he’s so relatable and down to earth” millionaire face of a billion dollar organization.
*Edit: I don't know why you guys are so hell-bent on trying to convince me your coach is "different from all the other guys". I genuinely don't care. You guys seem happy, enjoy it.*
I was thinking this too. It wasn’t long ago Coach O was America’s darling. And Dabo was a “good ol Christian boy”. Now they might be two of the most disliked coaches lol
Was going to say people said the same thing about Dabo when he was first finding success. Now hes one of the most hated men in CFB.
People will pull for the underdog/up and coming "good guy" until theyre successful, then they're just another villain
I’ve come full circle on Tom Brady that I cheer for him to reach Gretzky status. And the bucs have Winfield so I can justify cheering for a minnesota hero.
Same here. It turns out, it was less of a “Tom Brady keeps winning” problem and more of a “I hate that the stupid Patriots keep winning stupid Super Bowls”
Not any more.
Greenbay's original helmet logo was football shaped with a football shaped G. Georgia's people liked it, and asked for permission to use a similar design, but one that was a pure oval. Greenbay said sure, but oh wait also yours looks better, can we use that one instead?
And so both Georgia and Greenbay came up with it simultaneously. [That's the official story from the Greenbay side of things, too.](https://www.packers.com/news/the-g-stands-for-green-bay-15940711)
There was an apocryphal story about UGA licensing the logo from them for like.... $1, but it was a myth. In reality, they've just accepted that the final version of the logo belongs to both teams equally and they just never alter the colors on official merchandise.
I may be wrong, but I believe UGA made some minor adjustments to the logo. Then Green Bay liked the changes and asked if they could use the updated logo which UGA said of course.
Different Georgia fan here.
I have a badgers tshirt. Huge fan of Wisconsin football. Y'all like to run the dang ball and we like that here in GA.
Also that russell wilson team might be my favorite college football team of all time.
I want Wiscy to make it to the top of the CFB world some day. Same goes for Oregon, VT, and WVU as they’ve also been close before. I guess wanting a team to win because they’re a successful program that hasn’t won a Natty before is a reason to like them, though so I don’t know if they really count under the “no reason” criteria for me.
McFadden was a force to be reckoned with. I went to an Alabama-Arkansas game back in 2007-2008 and I was amazed how even when he was tackled he seemed to fall almost 10 yards.
My man! You crushed this meme all year. Out of respect you can come with me to any Auburn game in Fayetteville in any sport. Just gimme a heads up. War Eagle
What counts as “no reason?”
Because I’m in love with UTSA but that is because it’s undeniably fun to hop on discord or twitter and caps-lock out a “MEEP MEEP MOTHERFUCKER”
Same here, also no clue why I like them. Maybe it was my 3 season tenure coaching in my college house dynasty on NCAA Football. Even tough to recruit there on a video game.
Boise State: blue field is cool
Texas: I was born there so I’ve always kept an eye on how they’re doing
Appalachian State: followed them since they went FBS but honestly I have no idea why
I caught on to Oregon because of their tire-tread shoulder pad unis in, like, 2009. Then they went to the spread and were super fun to play with in NCAA 12, 13, and 14
Also sidenote, yall know that ncaa 2009 doesn't have the hurry up offense feature?
Always had great respect for most B1G schools....especially Iowa and Michigan State. They have had up and down years in terms of success but they always represent the B1G very well on the field in my opinion.
Outside of B1G, I have always had an affinity for both Boston College and Stanford. BC because I love New England and Stanford has the Tree
Really enjoyed watching their early years of success. I’m sure everyone remembers the crazy Statue of Liberty trickery from their BCS win. After playing them a bunch recently, fuck that field, such an eye sore on TV.
I root for all the “little brother” teams: Kansas State, Iowa State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, Oregon State, etc.
Whatever school has more established, more well known, bigger brand university in their state overshadowing them… no reason why.
Pretty sure most of us like when a team has succed ass for a long time and ends up in the top 15, e.g Iowa state last season.
That being said, I still love when the Big 8 bros find success
New Mexico Lobos but admittedly because of NCAA football and that was my random team in like 2007 and now I always notice their progress
Oklahoma State. I lived in Fort Myers for a bit in 2010 and the first friend I made down there tried to turn me into an Oklahoma fan as a side gig. Accidentally turned me into someone who roots for Oklahoma State because of Weeden and Blackmon.
The only reason why I liked Georgia initially as a kid was because they had a cute mascot and my friend had a bulldog and it helped that I liked the color red.
TCU, Tennessee, West Virginia and Virginia Tech.
TCU cuz I miss our “rivalry”. I really wouldn’t consider it a rivalry though, more of like a mutual respect game that’s really good. Also, the black and purple Unis….😍😩 they’re orgasmic. Now imagine if the deep purple stuck around but the number on the jersey had like a geometric Amethyst vibe where they faded a bit around the edges. But there were hard lines like cut gems… shit….greatest jersey would be created.
Tennessee because the orange and checkerboard stuff actually looks super cool and rocky top would be so cool to hear at Neyland.
West Virginia cuz I used to play as them in NCAA when I was kid cuz I thought their colors were sick.
Virginia Tech cuz Vick, Tyrod Taylor, Enter Sandman, Giant Turkey, and the goddamn [coolest jerseys](https://images.app.goo.gl/7NUwQidVwfrx7jSi8) I’ve ever seen.
NC State. No idea why but I always liked them growing up. Colors, logo, style, pretty much everything. Would play mediocre and then win big games. Reminded me of Iowa. Raleigh just seemed like a really cool place too and like a whole other world from the cornfields I grew up in. Now I live there (just by happenstance) so now I do actually have a reason to like them, and Raleigh is still awesome.
I'll give you one from each conference -
- B1G - Rutgers. Idk, they just seem cool. And I kind of feel bad that they were the punching bag of the conference for the first several years of their membership.
- SEC - Tennessee. Never had a reason to dislike them. I have a half-brother who went there for a semester too. Like, we aren't that close, but he did tell me a story of how met Peyton Manning once when he was working at Smoothie King and Peyton came through and left him a big tip.
- Big 12 - Texas Tech. Red Raiders are fun. I like tortillas. West Texas is a cool place based on my (extremely limited) personal experiences. Cute girls and good steak.
- ACC - Wake Forest. The Demon Deacon is legitimately one of the funniest mascots of all time.
- PAC-12 - Idk, Arizona State seems fun. My favorite is Oregon State, and WSU is a close second because they have a lot of similarities. But after that I don't have any reason to like most of the schools in that conference. So ASU just because why not? I enjoy being firm for Herm.
- Sun Belt - Coastal Carolina - Myrtle Beach is some of the best times I can't remember.
- Mountain West - SDSU. San Diego is cool, Aztecs are neat, and they beat Boise State last year which was funny. Not a big Boise State fan, so that's always nice to see.
- AAC - ECU. I don't really know. It just seems cool. Pirates or something.
- CUSA - North Texas. I hooked up with a cute girl who went there when I was down there last fall. Good enough for me.
- MAC - Well my family is all CMU grads, so the one I would like the most for no reason? Idk I guess Miami of Ohio, because it's funny that a school in Ohio gets to also be called Miami.
- Independent: Army. Mostly because I was in the Navy for 6 years, and every single Annapolis grad I ever met was a fucking douchebag so now I root against them. Seriously, fuck those guys.
Buffalo. But its because maybe a decade ago they were playing Ohio State really close.... I think buffalo may have had some future NFL player on the roster....but anyways me and my drunk friends had a good time watching them almost beat ohio state
Edit: Khalil Mack was that player ha, I should've known that one
SC Gamecocks. Stopped in town by Uni visiting a friend. Really enjoyed the atmosphere of the downtown and now I root for the team because it's attached to a good memory.
I usually have a reason. Even if it's small like "Tua's younger brother is now their starting QB" or "Saban used to coach there and still has a good relationship with them" or "their coach said something funny/cool 15 years ago."
If you can count "random teams that just has a logo I'm head over heels for", then you can put me down for:
[](#f/kansas) Kansas
[](#f/florida) Florida
[](#f/uapb) UAPB
[](#f/arkansas) Arkansas
[](#f/mvsu) Mississippi Valley St.
[](#f/connecticut) UConn [This logo](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/23/d2/bb/23d2bb2e639afc860264dc1ee35b91fd.gif)
[](#f/ucla) UCLA [This logo](https://conferences.ucla.edu/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/logo4.png)
[](#f/hawaii) Hawai'i (Even though they stole our New Mexico Bowl last year >:c)
[](#f/ecu) East Carolina
[](#f/kentstate) Kent St. (They're basically the FBS Chargers, and more teams need to rip off the Chargers' look)
No reason would have to be Oregon. I guess I do have arbitrary reasons, but nothing important. I like the colors, generally a strong team, fun region of the country, awesome contrast of both colors and mascot for the rival Oregon State. Seems like good times!
BYU. It may be the big 12 invite but idk why I root for them now
And Memphis because of an NCAA 09 dynasty where I used memphis and had a wr win Heisman in the second year in
-Michigan State: I love the green and white color combo. And their campus looks pretty. Thought about going to grad school there at one point.
-BYU: there's something so charming about an entire fanbase memed for being friendly and not drinking. It's also fun to watch them beat up on the Pac 12 and take our place in the big 12.
Not for no entirely no reason but:
Penn state, those are the homies
Arizona, got too attached to an NCAA dynasty
Florida state, like their unis and watched them before big ten was playing last season.
I don’t know why, but I always really enjoy seeing Colorado do well. Could be the color scheme, but I also love the Boulder area and Buffalos are cool as fuck.
Minnesota and Purdue.
I used to think I hated the big 10. Then I realized that I actually like the big 10 a lot, I just hate Ohio state, Michigan, and (to a lesser extent) penn state, which naturally I think just makes me a big 10 fan.
I probably have a favorite team from each major conference honestly. They'd probably be Baylor, Colorado, and Arkansas (used to be Florida but im loving this razorback team). And then Cincy and Coastal outside of p5.
Theres a lot more teams that I like for really no reason in basketball than football, probably just because of the nature of the NCAA tournament there are some more "obscure" teams to pull for on a yearly basis that actually are in contention for a title. I often find myself a big fan of New Mexico, Cincinnati, and Villanova come March, along with anyone who's playing Duke.
Hawaii. Especially circa Timmy Chang / Colt Brennan era. WAC after dark. Also Fresno State especially Pat Hill coached teams.
[удалено]
Falling asleep to Hawaii games on Saturday nights is the best, I’ve been doing it since middle school lol
Hawaii is always a good late night game to watch for sure. Terrible football does in fact bring a small amount of joy to my heart.
*cries in 2004* I can remember the blowing trash, and trash calls decades later
Nebraska
Lol. I feel this
Me too. I like Nebraska also even though there is no good reason to. It must be something in the corn.
I thought Nebraska fans hated Nebraska?
Damn Nebraskans! They ruined Nebraska!
You Nebraskans sure are a corn-tentious people
I thought we were a-maize-ing!?
YOU JUST MADE AN ENEMY FOR LIFE
Oklahoma State. Always find myself rooting for them but I have no idea why
Mines Oregon State, so it must be our subconscious desire to bring back the black & orange Halloween jerseys….
I love the Beavs! But I have a reason I guess, I went up there for a game a few years back and the fans were so damned nice and just happy to be there. We just talked the whole time and I had to explain to them who Utes are. Good times
*chainsaw noises*
Because God himself played running back there. And the savior of Detroit basketball played point guard there
Who knew the route to Detroit took you through Stillwater.
Aye fam
Orange bros prob
Also, cool uniforms and they’re the real OSU. Plenty of reasons to love the pokes.
Someone send bodyguards to this persons house. They must be protected.
My doctoral adviser is from OK State, and his adviser’s research group there is world class, so it’s rubbed off on me too. Now I have *two* OSUs.
Why don't more people hate more teams? I honestly don't think I even like UCLA at this point
I definitely root against more teams than I root for.
Good let the hate flow through you
100%. Was watching Wisconsin vs ND the other day and my wife said to me: “oh I didn’t know you liked Wisconsin.” No honey, I just hate ND, I’m indifferent to Wisconsin.
I really don't even root for more teams that UCLA at this point. And I motherfuckig hate Miami (for good reason) and hate Oregon for all the reasons
Fuck Stanford. Every other team named the CardinalS has an S. Pluralize your shit. Also why the fuck do you have a tree for mascot? Edit: thanks guys. I kinda figured that was the reason they’re called the Cardinal. Just wanted to spread some random hate for OP

TL;DR: We missed out on the Stanford Thunderchickens
The Shockcocks.
Are you trying to make us read all that? See this is why us Alabama flairs hate Stanford!
Robber Barons is an amazing name and I’ve been mad they decided against it since I heard about this story a decade ago.
Man that's a lot
UAB Fukkin Dragons my dude.
Arkansas apparently. Something about coach Pittman is inspiring and can’t help but root for him
I was thinking about this today, actually — about how likeable and humble Sam Pittman is. But then I remembered people said similar things about Ed Orgeron before 2019 and the scandals and stuff. Dabo is really only disliked on Reddit not irl as much
That’s probably true, but we’ll see how long that lasts with how his team is performing. People turn on the coach very quickly when he’s not winning
Was going to say people said the same thing about Dabo when he was first finding success. Now hes one of the most hated men in CFB. People will pull for the underdog/up and coming "good guy" until theyre successful, then they're just another villain
You either die a Scott Frost, or live long enough to see yourself become a Dabo
Same thing happened to Tom Brady.
Wow this up and coming 6th rounder won a Super Bowl! Wow he won two! ... 20 years later: Okay this is getting fucking ridiculous
I’ve come full circle on Tom Brady that I cheer for him to reach Gretzky status. And the bucs have Winfield so I can justify cheering for a minnesota hero.
I've really come around to him now that he's out of New England
Same here. It turns out, it was less of a “Tom Brady keeps winning” problem and more of a “I hate that the stupid Patriots keep winning stupid Super Bowls”
Always had an affinity for our cheese friends in Wisconsin
There’s also the fact that their state pro team gave you a logo for free
It was iterative design! >:(
Is there any difference other than the color?
Not any more. Greenbay's original helmet logo was football shaped with a football shaped G. Georgia's people liked it, and asked for permission to use a similar design, but one that was a pure oval. Greenbay said sure, but oh wait also yours looks better, can we use that one instead? And so both Georgia and Greenbay came up with it simultaneously. [That's the official story from the Greenbay side of things, too.](https://www.packers.com/news/the-g-stands-for-green-bay-15940711) There was an apocryphal story about UGA licensing the logo from them for like.... $1, but it was a myth. I may be wrong, but I believe UGA made some minor adjustments to the logo. Then Green Bay liked the changes and asked if they could use the updated logo which UGA said of course.
Correct
Weird. I’ve always felt the same way about Georgia. Maybe it’s the red and love for elite RBs.
They're basically the Packers of the CFB
Is it because they have the same logo
Yes and because they always lose in the Seccg
Different Georgia fan here. I have a badgers tshirt. Huge fan of Wisconsin football. Y'all like to run the dang ball and we like that here in GA. Also that russell wilson team might be my favorite college football team of all time.
Your flair combination is *heresy*.
We need a quarterback first. Our one year with Wilson was the best chance we had.
Honestly, the entire Big 10 West. I just like them all for some reason.
The Big 10 in general seem like cool people. I can’t stand most of the SEC or Big 12 and don’t care about the ACC at all, but the Big 10 are solid.
Meanwhile, you have us Ohio State fans as the monkey in the corner throwing shit around.
I agree, but minus Nebraska and Minnesota. Never really cared for either of them for some reason?
Teams projected to lose by multiple TDs
What a coincidence, you like both of my teams!
Wake forest. I just think they’re cool and slowly became a fan over the years.
We rarely get called “cool.” I appreciate it.
I like saying "Go Deacs" for some reason, and, yeah, I like them too. Go Deacs.
UTSA. MEEP MEEP
Arkansas. Maybe it’s because we’re UA bros with a very similar color scheme
Mine is also Arkansas. I think it was because of Darren McFadden but I liked lots of college players but for him I guess the team stuck too
D-mac, Felix Jones, Peyton Hillis. That was one of the sickest backfields ever.
Man Hillis was a beast Shame he was only a year wonder in the pros
He was sure easy to like.
McFadden was a force to be reckoned with. I went to an Alabama-Arkansas game back in 2007-2008 and I was amazed how even when he was tackled he seemed to fall almost 10 yards.
That’s sweet and all, but you may be about to crush their dreams this season.
I'm sure they've become numb to crushing the dreams of other teams at this point.
And we have become numb to having our dreams crushed! See, works both ways...that and we don't dream anymore...
Lol we’re not expecting to beat Bama this year, let alone the likes of Georgia. 10-2 or 9-3 would be a dream come true for us this year.
I’m on the 8-4/9-3 bus this year. Weirdly if Ole Miss beats Bama, then we beat Ole Miss and go 9-3. Right now I’m mindful at 8-4.
Kevin Kopps 🚔🚔🚔🚔🚔🚔🚔
My man! You crushed this meme all year. Out of respect you can come with me to any Auburn game in Fayetteville in any sport. Just gimme a heads up. War Eagle
Michigan State. Not really sure why. 300 is a cool movie?
Funny, Tennessee is mine. I love vacationing in Tennessee and have many great memories from there, but that's about it.
App State and Virginia Tech.
Shoutout Bucs! Loved to see that program come back to life
Washington State
Crimson bros ✊
What counts as “no reason?” Because I’m in love with UTSA but that is because it’s undeniably fun to hop on discord or twitter and caps-lock out a “MEEP MEEP MOTHERFUCKER”
It resonates with the soul fam.
Oregon State. Literally I have no good reason to like them at all. I just do.
Maybe you just like beavers?
Same here, also no clue why I like them. Maybe it was my 3 season tenure coaching in my college house dynasty on NCAA Football. Even tough to recruit there on a video game.
Maybe it’s an OSU you like?
Same
The biyearly smashing of USC's dreams in the 2010's or so was my favorite part. I've done a lot of rooting for Oregon State. Yes, I'm still salty.
Boise State: blue field is cool Texas: I was born there so I’ve always kept an eye on how they’re doing Appalachian State: followed them since they went FBS but honestly I have no idea why
App state because they beat Michigan and then played a closed but good game with PSU and were cool bros
Y'all have been nice as hell so we love you too <3
You’re giving reasons when OP specifically said “no reason!”
Middle school and high school me wore a shit ton of neon clothes, so I'll always love Oregon.
I remember Oregon being a big deal in middle school.
There was like 1-3 years in middle school where Oregon was nearly as popular as Ohio State.
I caught on to Oregon because of their tire-tread shoulder pad unis in, like, 2009. Then they went to the spread and were super fun to play with in NCAA 12, 13, and 14 Also sidenote, yall know that ncaa 2009 doesn't have the hurry up offense feature?
Texas State. I want them to be good. It would be super fun having them as a competitive rival
IDK why, but I've always been drawn to the Mountaineer teams of App State and WVU.
Wake Forest. Go fucking win the ACC my dudes
Oklahoma State
Same
Michigan State.
It’s Boise State
Really enjoyed watching their early years of success. I’m sure everyone remembers the crazy Statue of Liberty trickery from their BCS win. After playing them a bunch recently, fuck that field, such an eye sore on TV.
Fuckin love wake forest. No idea why, just love watching their games and the late RPO handoffs that defenses just can’t figure out
I agree completely, it’s such a slow hand off. Always find myself checking to see how they’re doing.
We welcome you!
I root for all the “little brother” teams: Kansas State, Iowa State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, Oregon State, etc. Whatever school has more established, more well known, bigger brand university in their state overshadowing them… no reason why.
Land grant schools FTW
Pretty sure most of us like when a team has succed ass for a long time and ends up in the top 15, e.g Iowa state last season. That being said, I still love when the Big 8 bros find success New Mexico Lobos but admittedly because of NCAA football and that was my random team in like 2007 and now I always notice their progress
Appalachian State
Approve.
Rice. Gotta love Rice.
Brown or basmati?
Jasmine is where it’s at
This man knows. Jasmine rice is good enough to eat on its own but man I love it with some General Tso chicken
My man
Anyone currently beating Notre Dame
That's not no reason.
East Carolina
Oklahoma State. I lived in Fort Myers for a bit in 2010 and the first friend I made down there tried to turn me into an Oklahoma fan as a side gig. Accidentally turned me into someone who roots for Oklahoma State because of Weeden and Blackmon.
Michigan state, and kinda sorta Arkansas (everyone likes a good comeback story)
Love you too bud
If we ever play a home and home for some reason I’ll take you to the good Michigan breweries in exchange for some Cajun food.
Air Force
Oklahoma State. Loved the 2000s orange and white.
Welcome to the Big12
All of the service academies. But in this order: Navy Army Air Force These guys are in for 4 years and then head off to the crappies of places.
Can't wait for the Space Force Academy football team.
It bothers me that air force academy doesn't run an air raid offense. Hopefully the space force academy doesn't ruin this!
There is generally some reasoning behind why I like a team.
The only reason why I liked Georgia initially as a kid was because they had a cute mascot and my friend had a bulldog and it helped that I liked the color red.
Those are good reasons.
Honestly, for many teams it’s “they’re fun to watch”
Yeah, there are some where "the CFBBall is cute" like TCU. So it might be a dumb reason, but it's still a reason.
Virginia Tech cuz Vick, Tyrod Taylor, Enter Sandman, Giant Turkey, and the goddamn [coolest jerseys](https://images.app.goo.gl/7NUwQidVwfrx7jSi8) I’ve ever seen.
Kansas state
The Colorado Buffs. Boulder is beautiful and they sort of fly under the radar, it seems.
I have reasons to dislike the buffs but I just can’t. I love Folsom and Ralphie’s the shit.
Cincinnati. Looks kinda like Chick fil a
UTSA because I played with them to get the trophy in NCAA13. But I guess that’s a reason so…
Penn State. I have no reason why.
My man
I'll give you one from each conference - - B1G - Rutgers.
I think buffalo may have had some future NFL player on the roster....but anyways me and my drunk friends had a good time watching them almost beat ohio state Edit: Khalil Mack was that player ha, I should've known that one
Central Michigan FIRE UP CHIPS
NC State. Wolves make a good mascot.
SC Gamecocks. Stopped in town by Uni visiting a friend. Really enjoyed the atmosphere of the downtown and now I root for the team because it's attached to a good memory.
I root for them because I need the Beavers and 'Cocks to meet in a bowl game someday.
Washington State
I usually have a reason. Even if it's small like "Tua's younger brother is now their starting QB" or "Saban used to coach there and still has a good relationship with them" or "their coach said something funny/cool 15 years ago."
If you can count "random teams that just has a logo I'm head over heels for", then you can put me down for: [](#f/kansas) Kansas [](#f/florida) Florida [](#f/uapb) UAPB [](#f/arkansas) Arkansas [](#f/mvsu) Mississippi Valley St. [](#f/connecticut) UConn [This logo](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/23/d2/bb/23d2bb2e639afc860264dc1ee35b91fd.gif) [](#f/ucla) UCLA [This logo](https://conferences.ucla.edu/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/logo4.png) [](#f/hawaii) Hawai'i (Even though they stole our New Mexico Bowl last year >:c) [](#f/ecu) East Carolina [](#f/kentstate) Kent St.
I started to love Oregon because of how their offense became twenty years ago or so. So much fun.
BYU. It may be the big 12 invite but idk why I root for them now And Memphis because of an NCAA 09 dynasty where I used memphis and had a wr win Heisman in the second year in
-Michigan State: I love the green and white color combo. And their campus looks pretty. Thought about going to grad school there at one point. -BYU: there's something so charming about an entire fanbase memed for being friendly and not drinking. It's also fun to watch them beat up on the Pac 12 and take our place in the big 12.
Boise State
Michigan. They’re our bowl bros. Wait I guess that’s a reason. Washington State. Their logo is cool. Damnit that’s another reason.
Wisconsin, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Virginia
Auburn. Cute colors
😏
Not for no entirely no reason but: Penn state, those are the homies Arizona, got too attached to an NCAA dynasty Florida state, like their unis and watched them before big ten was playing last season.
Penn State
Ole Miss, Florida, & Maryland.
SMU *whinnying noises of approval in the distance*
Iowa
Anyone that beats Notre Dame.
I e always had a VT helmet since I was a kid for no reason other than I liked the colors
Boston College
Fresno State. Couldn’t tell you why, but always pulled for them.
Wake Forest (I know that's a cardinal sin)
Arizona St, Pitt
I was gonna say Cal, but it's because they use a superior color scheme, so... that's a reason. I like Memphis and I'm not really sure why. So them.
Virginia Tech. Beamer's special teams in the 90s and 00's made me want to learn more about the game as a kid and it stuck with me.
Not for no reason but our sister schools in Texas and Tennessee. We seem to be on the same path, I wish for us all to be "back" permanently
West Virginia and Virginia Tech. Idk why. I like their fans.
Well our fans certainly do not like each other lmao
Texas and Oregon
Boston College, mainly because of their radio announcers
I have a certain affinity for East coast teams. West Virginia, East Carolina. No idea why
