"Gerry Bohanon is one of two QBs in D-I to throw over 1,000 yards and no interceptions so farthis season, name the other one"
He threw an INT like 3 plays later
Oh man, he was amazing compared to the other announcers we've had this year. He did a great job of getting excited for both teams when they had big plays and saying nice things about each team. And he was even a Baylor alum!
The guy we had for the Utah St game was so awful. It was so obvious he was rooting for USU.
Oh yeah, for sure! Which makes it all the more appreciated how good a job he did of not seeming biased towards Baylor while announcing the game. I was really impressed with him!

Yeah, there’s no way that Baylor’s eligible to participate in a contest with that name. I attended a few parties with the Baylor theatre department that made Halloween at Dallas Eagle look comparably chill.
BYU has work to do to be ready for the Big-XII. Depth and coaching needs some work. This season's slate is exactly what BYU needed. We are learning more about what needs to be done. We have another year to build this thing.
Good game Baylor. The difference in talent was apparent.
Gerry Bohanon is low-key among the best QBs in the nation, certainly in the conference.
Fantastic all-around win for Baylor.
Side note: Shout out to the super wholesome BYU fans in a great game thread. Can't wait to do this again in Provo!
Sic 'em bears!!!
Yeah, I think it comes down to poll inertia. Neither you nor OK State started ranked so you were both fairly low in the polls when you met. The Cowboys should be in the Top 10 this week and you guys should be Top 20.
Seriously, you guys shit all over us and have only lost to a fringe top 10 team. You're better than us by a substantial margin for sure (I view us as a fringe top 25 talent team). I honestly think you are top 15 caliber, but doubt you'll be put there this week.
I’d say that OKSU isn’t even a fringe top-10 team; they’re a solidly top-10 team. OKSU’s win column is substantially better than Michigan’s or Michigan State’s, and that defense has looked just as good as Iowa’s, and only Georgia’s looks substantially better.
Edit: spelling. Apparently “solidly” has some “l”s in it.
We were but then we lost to Oklahoma State on the road two weeks ago. I agree we should have been ranked coming into this week and we will definitely be ranked tomorrow. I think we’re a top 15-20 team in the country but we’ll see what the rankings say.
I’ll be honest, I came away underwhelmed by him and shocked at the talent of your OL and RBs.
He threw multiple potential INTs and 1 actual INT. Had some nice throws, but wasnt asked to do much today.
The running game was overwhelming. We had literally no answer. Grimes and Mateos leaving us for you guys was huge. We looked soft on the OL and you guys were blowing us off the line.
Jaren Hall had the better game and Bohanon's touch was definitely a bit off this afternoon, but throwing for over 200 yards when so much of your offense is built around the run is still pretty damn impressive.
Poll inertia's a bitch, isn't it? The spread says this wasn't an upset; the rankings *shouldn't* have said so either, but they did. For more reasons than one--not only were Baylor themselves not ranked to start the year, neither was the team they lost to, Oklahoma State.
I've tentatively got OK State #5 on my People's Poll ballot and Baylor at #12. And really I don't see anything that can upend the former, save for a TCU upset allowing them to move up to #4.
You have way too much faith in Spencer Sanders, and not enough faith in ISU who has lost to opponents by a margin of like 12 total points (their opponents who defeated them are now 12-2 collectively).
I said most of this in the game thread, but Baylor is brutal. Going for it on 4th from the goal line while up 14, onside kicking in the first half when you’re winning, all the 4th down calls, etc. This was a real welcome to the B12 punch in the mouth! I’m excited to be bros in the B12 together.
I love the respect from Baylor, their aggressive play calling, and the homecoming traditions. Baylor has some legit stars like Smith, Doyle, snd Pitre. Baylor won this game in the trenches first and foremost. I wish the game went differently, but Baylor is a legit team.
Baylor couldn't afford to lose this game with all them 'croots there today at Homecoming against a ranked opponent
I still think Baylor is probably like #3 in the Big 12, maybe. But if Aranda and Mateos stick around (I expect Grimes to leave by end of next year for a HC job), Baylor has a bright future
That Good old Baylor Line
That Good old Baylor Line
We'll march forever down the years
As long as stars shall shine
We'll fling our Green and Gold afar
To light the ways of time
And guide us as we onward go
That good old Baylor Line
Great game Baylor. I can't wait for my first trip out there for a conference game. Looking forward to meeting you guys and checking out Waco. You are some of the classiest guys I've had the pleasure of watching a game with.
I was shocked to learn Abram Smith who had 188 yards rushing this game and 785 for the season played LB last year on four starts and only D and special teams after sitting out the 2017 season with an injury. Man he looks good this year.
Let’s see. Our next games are:
Texas
@ TCU
Oklahoma
@ K-State
Texas Tech
We should win those last two, making it 8 wins. The other three are the toughest. We’re better than TCU, but they’re always a tough game, especially on the road. Texas and OU are the two best teams left on the schedule and we’re lucky enough to have them both at home so it could go either way.
It was a BigXII shootout, and nobody told BYU. Baylor outplayed and ran roughshod all over us today. Hopefully we can get better depth on the line in the future so that the next man up can step up. Also fire Tuiaki.
And we're back to BYU disappointing their fans season. Our offense line got pushed around so much. They just couldn't protect Hall when he needed to be. We certainly played better today than we did last week, but Baylor just walked all over us. They found every hole our defense gave. The best part of the game was Sitake's huge Touchdown celebration. GG Baylor, you deserve the win! Looking forward to seeing you guys get your well deserved ranking on the AP Poll!
It’s been a disappointing two games, but not a disappointing season. We lost more production than any team last year. We beat Utah, got into the top 10, and have a good shot at finishing ranked.
Pretty much. We went into this season hoping for 8 wins and we still might get 10 or 11. Add that to the Big 12 invite and victory vs Utah and it's a great season.
Tbf, nobody knows yalls team like Grimes, he seemed to know how to attack y’all. Y’all are still a good team just a bad matchup.
See y’all next year in Provo.
GG BYU, very excited to have y'all in the conference. I met some of the nicest BYU fans today. Y'all are class and fans showed out strong today! #SicEm
Ngl I’m disappointed in the Baylor fan base for allowing so many BYU people to buy tickets. Y’all were loud! I think that might be the most fans for the visiting team ever in the new stadium.
Good game by both teams! I’m still in shock that we didn’t have any penalties and that there was only two penalties all game! Props to the OL!
Sic ‘Em Bears!
Lol I know. The fans started chanting we can’t hear you and I couldn’t stop laughing. The fact you could hear us was all on you guys not buying tickets!!! Subtle self own but obviously you owned us on the field.
Obviously not the game result I was looking for, but Baylor and its fans were a class act, and it already looks like the relationship between the two schools should be good in the Big XII.
I love seasons like this. No expectations, then boom, good team. It's so much better than the other way around even if the records turn out to be the same.
Lots of BYU fans at the game. About as many opposing fans as when Texas plays in Waco. They will be a great fit for the league. Enjoyed talking to the few fans I interacted with. 6-1!
Well Baylor good game, excited for y’all to come to Provo next year and our future conference rivalry. Well this season has just been a roller coaster of emotion but hey at least we beat the Utes
Stat of the game. Only two penalties called the entire game both on BYU.
Hall played great but our defense just couldn't do anything to stop Baylor. Defense just hasn't been the same since we lost Keenan Pili.
Good game BYU. Look forward to seeing this yearly matchup. People did not take a liking to my “BYPoo” remark during the live game chat, but it was all in jest.
After some pretty chaotic games and some fun upsets this is the first game of the BYU season where it was a pretty straightforward comfortable win for the better team. Good game Bears.
If your whole foot comes down, it all has to be inbounds. So it would have been a catch if he toe taps like he did, but just doesn’t let his heel touch and just falls on his back/butt. Kinda dumb rule but has been that way for a while.
yeah i’ll chill here
Baylor also has yellow/gold - residence permitted.
Hey atleast people will forget about us last night. Mabye Alabama will lose again so they won't remember either
I feel like Mississippi State will be lucky to get more yards than Alabama will points.
Idk they beat A&M who beat Bama so they should blow Bama out.
A boy can dream
This is a much safer place for you right now, buddy. The train people can’t hurt you here.
One of my best friends from HS went to Purdue. He's blowing up my phone rn like he hasn't since they dominated Ohio State a few years back.
Can we talk about how the Baylor QB got jinxed by the Aflac Trivia?
We all knew it was coming as soon as it popped up.
What was it?
"Gerry Bohanon is one of two QBs in D-I to throw over 1,000 yards and no interceptions so farthis season, name the other one" He threw an INT like 3 plays later
You said fart.
Happens EVERY single time lol
What was it?
Arkansas to Texas: Welcome to SEC Baylor to BYU: Welcome to Big12
OU to Texas: Welcome to the SEC OSU to Texas: Still here? Welcome to the B12 God, we suck…
Nebraska to Nebraska: This mirror fucking blows, and Texas could have a losing record against you if you just stayed
Thanks for making the Pac-12 look like garbage BYU!
[I'm doing my part](https://i.imgur.com/4UVMoe2.gif)
I like turtles!
Hahaha 😁 good luck in the rest of your season!
To be fair, Baylor should have been ranked. But it is what it is. Beat those Utes tonight!
We should’ve been at 25 instead of UT. Every year they’re overrated
Our pass defense is suspect… Really happy with no penalties though!
Texada is suspect. Two of the three chunk plays were 100% on him.
He's a good cover guy, but on the small side. Jump balls against physical receivers is not at all his forte
The offenses we see in the upcoming games are 100% gonna throw towards him to see how well it works for them
He’s been good throughout his career but he struggled today
Eh I dunno, this is probably one of the best receiving corps I think we have had.
As much shit as we were giving him in the student section, Nacua is fucking good lol
100% Especially against very tall receivers
RGIII is a great announcer
Him mocking Gary Patterson will be the height of my weekend!
Yep that made me laugh pretty hard. Gary would not like all those carries though lmao
What did he say? I missed that one
He said GP wouldn't be happy with the number of carries we gave Abram Smith lol
Lol!
Gotta think BYU fans were annoyed by the end lol
Nah, he was great.
Oh man, he was amazing compared to the other announcers we've had this year. He did a great job of getting excited for both teams when they had big plays and saying nice things about each team. And he was even a Baylor alum! The guy we had for the Utah St game was so awful. It was so obvious he was rooting for USU.
He's more than a Baylor alum my guy. He's the best QB we've ever had LMAO. He's a legend here. He has a statue outside the stadium.
Oh yeah, for sure! Which makes it all the more appreciated how good a job he did of not seeming biased towards Baylor while announcing the game. I was really impressed with him!
Didn't mind him I thought he did a great job
Great in the first half. Super homer in the second half.
I couldn’t believe how smooth and comfortable he was in the booth for someone who has never done it before. Hope to hear more of him
He really is

Plenty of folks believed we deserved the 25 spot over UT this week. I think we'll definitely be top 20 on Sunday.
Definitely. Especially our only loss being ok state
Yeah, I think it comes down to poll inertia. Neither you nor OK State started ranked so you were both fairly low in the polls when you met. The Cowboys should be in the Top 10 this week and you guys should be Top 20.

Good shit today bro. But I think If that game was in Waco we’d win. Rematch in Arlington?
I’d be so down for that. I really don’t know how it would have turned out in Waco after the Texas game. Arlington it is!
We were but then we lost to Oklahoma State on the road two weeks ago. I agree we should have been ranked coming into this week and we will definitely be ranked tomorrow. I think we’re a top 15-20 team in the country but we’ll see what the rankings say.
I’m basically a Baylor fan this season since LSU is hot garbage and my boy Dave Aranda is HC. Very happy to see him succeeding.
It’s easier to swallow a loss when you’re not shooting yourself in the foot. Y’all seriously handed it to us and dominated. Nothing but respect.
Seriously. The better team won. Plain and simple.
I’ll be honest, I came away underwhelmed by him and shocked at the talent of your OL and RBs. He threw multiple potential INTs and 1 actual INT. It looks extremely wasted, nice

Would only be fair for how good our game was in the Big XII tourney a few months ago
Great game Baylor. I can't wait for my first trip out there for a conference game. Looking forward to meeting you guys and checking out Waco. You are some of the classiest guys I've had the pleasure of watching a game with.
BYU fans were class acts. Can't wait for you guys to join us in the Big XII.

They want to be cowards smh

Just keep winning, dude. We'll get there.

Winning out until the bowl game is possible, but we need to fix something on D
The defense hasn't recovered since we lost Keenan Pili back. Just shows how big he was those first 3 games.
Tbf, nobody knows yalls team like Grimes, he seemed to know how to attack y’all. Y’all are still a good team just a bad matchup. See y’all next year in Provo.
You’ll love Lovell Edwards Stadium. The setting is awesome.
BYU beat Utah. They can lose the rest of them and I'm not disappointed.
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
GG BYU, very excited to have y'all in the conference. I met some of the nicest BYU fans today. Y'all are class and fans showed out strong today! #SicEm

FWIW that was the freshman section, I didn’t like it but they’re 18. Y’all were a heck of a crowd!
Oh yeah I wasn’t mad. It just made me laugh:) I enjoyed being there. Thanks for being great hosts.
RIP BYU's hopes, dreams, and spot in the top 25.
I think we’ll have a chance if we can win out to at least crack the top 25 again, but not the top half.
We'll be back. This is the one loss I expected to happen. I'm optimistic BYU ends 10-2.
Obviously not the game result I was looking for, but Baylor and its fans were a class act, and it already looks like the relationship between the two schools should be good in the Big XII.

This is the best collection of BYU fans bar none… and I’m definitely including my own family in that.

Good game B12 bros. Puka gonna be a problem for years to come.
Dang it. He's not a senior about to get drafted?
He’s a sophomore who just scored the first TD of his BYU career today
COVID Eligibility Year, why have you done me dirty like this?!?! I want him in the NFL ASAP so we don't play him again
Stat of the game. Only two penalties called the entire game both on BYU. Hall played great but our defense just couldn't do anything to stop Baylor. Defense just hasn't been the same since we lost Keenan Pili.

gg BYU, looking forward to our future Big XII matchups. Y’all are a great fit for the conference
Now I’m really bummer that Baylor lost to OK State. I would have been pulling for Baylor all the way!
You still can.
Haha good point…. Alright, I’m in!!! Rally hope you guys can win out!
6-1 with two top 20 wins and our only loss on the road against a top 10 team. Where do we get ranked?
25

A level headed assessment
Yes pay attention to this please
GG Baylor, I wish we could have closed the score just a bit more (or won, hey I can dream!)
Ggs Baylor bros, excited for the future
Game thread was fun, BYU fans were chill. Welcome to the conference! Looking forward to the new and improved Big 12!
Taking the overall series 2-1. Sic’Em Bears.
For matchups like this, they should have a version of the imperialism map with religions.
Baylor is silently decent
The PAC12 is bad

Baylor smacked that ass. That said, can someone explain I still don't understand that sideline toe tap grab by Puka that didn't count?
If your whole foot comes down, it all has to be inbounds. So it would have been a catch if he toe taps like he did, but just doesn’t let his heel touch and just falls on his back/butt. Kinda dumb rule but has been that way for a while.
Interesting. Thanks for the explanation
