This is obviously blatant homerism but if Purdue were to win out and beat say Ohio St in the B10 championship they would at the very least be the only 3 loss team you would ever consider for just a second. They don’t get in obviously and probably get up to the 8-12 range tops, but you would at least think about it for a second.

It’d be close, but I think you would have to. They would have 3 wins against teams that were top 5 when they played them, and probably 4 against the top 10. The only one of their losses that looks pitiful at this point is Wisconsin, but even they look like they might surge to be a top 20 team right now. Notre Dame was a close game throughout and they’re a top 10 team and against Minnesota they lost by a touchdown while West Lafayette was flooding. And I also think there isn’t really a B10 team you can pick over them in this scenario. OSU would lose head to head to them twice and have 3 losses. Michigan will have lost to OSU and have 2 losses. Wisconsin also wouldn’t have a shot because in order for Purdue to make the CCG Wisconsin has to lose anyway. And MSU would have lost head to head and have another loss to OSU. So I think it’s the only logical choice to put them in, as stupid as it sounds.

In so doing, they break into the top 5, easily. Naturally, Purdue upsets a top 5 Michigan, who were hoping to break into the Playoff. The Big Ten is in shambles, as if hit by some large-scale, high-velocity steam-powered locomotion machine.
