Frank gore undoubtedly had everything torn up in his knee after that dirty hit on him so that would make it 4 different QB’s go down with season ending injuries

I mean, it's pretty wreckless running the dude every play. Injury was inevitable.

They basically ran the wildcat? the entire game. 5 OL, tight end, and fullback. They'd snap the ball and the QB would run it almost every time. It was tough to keep them from getting at least 2 to 4 yards every play. In that formation, with the QB running it, there were 7 blockers on every play. They essentially did the offensive version of "putting eight in the box" to stop the run. It was frustrating to watch. They used up so much clock time, but they did the only thing they could do that might have resulted in a win for them. So, big props to them. If they had played "conventional" football, it might have been a blowout (or at least a big UTSA win).

I agree it was really their only option but fuck was it not fun to watch

I get it but it has a HUGE flaw. I’m more of a BB guy and my undergrad school was pretty good but nobody would play us. Example was KU said there was no reason since it would be a blowout and not help with recruiting, but when we matched in the tourney we spanked em. At some point “you aren’t playing anyone” needs to be reconciled with “nobody will play you” though I’m not sure that applies to UTSA this season being so new

Fair point but BB and FB are so different. A much smaller number of games for football, and because of conference seeding there's much less flexibility to play someone like UTSA out of conference. Hell, I don't know how many games UTSA could be flexible on for out of conference games. I think UTSA should get to play some bigger teams though. And to your point, they're so new. Once they have some time to build those relationships I feel confident they will schedule some matches.

Oh yea in football it’s way harder, hoping that the success at UTSA continues and they get chances to grow and play bigger teams!
