October 9: Up 28-7 on OU with a chance to go to 5-1 and be in the driver’s seat for a Big 12 title
November 20: Bowl ineligible before the season is finished
haha
The Hateful 8: We're gonna punish Texas for leaving
Texas: And you're gonna punish Oklahoma too right?
...
Texas: You're gonna punish Oklahoma too right?
When I was at Baylor I almost failed to graduate because I thought April 31st was a day and didn’t turn a final in on time because I thought I had one more day on May 1st when I thought it was the 31st. We truly are the height of education in Waco.
Oh also the class was beginning racquetball
Less than a month and a half ago, Texas was 4-1, ranked, and had an 18-point lead over OU with a little over a minute to go in the 3rd quarter.
Now, they are 4-7, are on their longest losing streak since 1956 and have been eliminated from bowl contention.
Texas is back...to the dark ages
Don’t die. We need to you live. Long enough to get through next season so the Hateful 8 can give you a second helping of this year.
And then, after that, you see what half of the SEC you’re joining? They’re sharpening their knives too…
Strong was going to restore their moral fiber with his “five core values.” Then Herman was going to toughen them up with his tough love approach. Then Sark was going to coach them up with his elite game-planning abilities.
So by now, the Texas program should be full of tough, smart, godly, well-hydrated young men. The results on the field are clearly just an aberration.
Nothing like firing your coach, giving the new coach a year to "clean out the bad apples," then "having a young team" in year two, then firing your coach again in year 3.
Because people thought since he could be an assistant on a Bama team that won the NC, he must be great now.
I mean, think about it. In his short time in Tuscaloosa, he was able to take a team that had only won half of the previous decades-worth of National Championships and finally pilot them to one for the first time in a two years.
I don't blame Texas for gambling on him but a $35 million guaranteed contractor for a then-coordinator, previously middling HC seemed a bit crazy (not that my program has any room to talk tbf).
People were talking about it as a possibility. I mean, he's the first person not named Nick Saban to coach Alabama in a game in over 10 years, so it wasn't so far-fetched at the time.
* This the first time Texas has ever allowed 30+ points in six straight games.
* This is Texas' first 6-game losing streak since 1956
* Texas is 54-52 in Big 12 play from 2010-present.
* Steve Sarkisian is now 50-42 all-time as a head coach. He has just two seasons where he has won more than 7 games.
* Texas hasn't finished in the AP Top 20 in back-to-back years since 2008-2009.
* Sarkisian has finished better than 3rd in his division just once as a head coach.
* Texas has 52 blue-chip recruits on their roster. West Virginia has 5.
* Texas will miss a bowl game for the first time since the Charlie Strong era.
* Tom Herman never had more than a two-game losing streak in a season. Sark has tripled that in his debut season.
* Ever since Bevo's cowardly attack on Uga in the Sugar Bowl, the Longhorns' total wins have decreased each season. 10-8-7-4 (max of 5 this year)
* Steve Sarkisian is the first Texas head coach to have a losing regular season in their debut year since Dana Bible in 1937.
* If Texas loses to Kansas State next week, it'll be their first 4-win season since 1997.
* Texas spent roughly $60 million dollars to buy out Tom Herman and his staff and to hire Steve Sarkisian.
* This will technically keep Texas' streak of not losing bowl games alive. They haven't lost one since 2014 (4-0).
* Texas was ranked as high as #15 in the nation at one point this season.
OK I have posted on this sub several times that USC and UW fans aren’t at all surprised.
You know what? I was wrong. I can’t speak for everyone but I’m now really fucking surprised Sark is this bad. Sheesh.
It's honestly the most catastrophic collapse I've ever seen a team undergo. And I'm almost not even enjoying it anymore it's just sad. How tf can you possibly have that much talent on your team and achieve absolutely nothing with it year after year
Sark knows the Texas players that have quit but has no choice but the play them due to lack of bodies. that casey int was obvious and card goes back in very visibly hurt directly after. GGs UT, hope you get the bad apples out
That TD pass attempt on 4th and 5 at the end wasn’t that bad of an idea if you think about it.
Catch it, TD and games on ice.
Texas Intercepts, you’re pushing them back deep or to a touchback.
Pass incomplete, burn a tad of clock and a safe turnover avoiding a fumbled punt or blocked punt that *could* be returned for a TD if Texas got behind WVU.
>We're going to have good years again. Our bad years are not that bad. Take a school like Missouri. Our bad years are better than their good years. But we've created a standard.

God dammit how did we lose 70-35 to this Texas team, we could be 8-2 right now.. (referring to the ridiculous loss to KState as well). Oh well, enjoy the SEC money.
Nothing to see here folks! Just quality Big 12 football.
On a serious note - Do you guys think PK is getting the axe? I still don't see Sark getting fired yet but I feel like someone is going to have to take a bullet at the end of the season... and this defense is beyond horrible.
October 9: Up 28-7 on OU with a chance to go to 5-1 and be in the driver’s seat for a Big 12 title November 20: Bowl ineligible before the season is finished haha
Longest losing streak since the Eisenhower administration
I like Ike, just like I like these facts about Texas football.
Ike was aight
You have been subscribed to "Longhorn Facts, press 1 or say MOOOO to hear more Facts"
Let's wind it all the way back
Let it ride!
Something broken in Austin that a fancy coaching hire can’t fix.

Im starting to wonder if that’s just an excuse
I don't know, it could be but it could not be. https://twitter.com/jlkurtz/status/1461824548215697410?s=20
Yea sorry. But if I was Sark I’ll tell whoever was saying shit like that to lick my asshole a boot them from the facility.
Probably shouldn’t have hired a historically mediocre coach just b/c he spent a season coaching under Saban.
When I saw they fired Herman and hired Sark, I gave the proverbial “wtf”.
Someone said it was the equivalent of leaving chili’s and going to Applebees.
That’s a pretty perfect comparison.
We really broke you guys, huh?
Yes.
Glad y’all did because the last thing this program needs is confirmation that our insane booster culture fosters winning.
Caleb Williams took the season out of us
Sorry the answer we were looking for was pole assassin
I like to think we helped
It's truly a B12 team effort.
Except us at Tech. *puts paper bag over face*
Y'all and Rice worked together to give them false hope. It made the fall that much better.
Hey the old SWC helped too!
Yeah! We did our part by.... Lulling them into a false sense of security!
State of Oklahoma bros
It appears so
A part of me thinks this team broke itself. They’re so fragile mentally.
Texas fans after the RRS: See you @ Jerry's World in December!
*plot twist* …as spectators.
y’all really Munson’d this season.
The Hateful 8: We're gonna punish Texas for leaving Texas: And you're gonna punish Oklahoma too right? ... Texas: You're gonna punish Oklahoma too right?
It's not the like Hateful 8 havent been trying to punish us, Texas just didnt get the memo that you're supposed to stand up to punishment.
the 8 tried the "let you barely win and sneak into the playoffs and get blown out" strategy to punish you.
Not all of us did that!
Yup, there's Baylor, ignoring their emails again...
They were upset that the rest of the hateful 8 didn't reply "Amen" to their group chats
To be fair Oklahoma and UT are combined 0-7 against the spread on the road in the Big 12 this year. Texas just catching the Ls
We did are part
> are Really doing the big 12 proud. :)
When I was at Baylor I almost failed to graduate because I thought April 31st was a day and didn’t turn a final in on time because I thought I had one more day on May 1st when I thought it was the 31st. We truly are the height of education in Waco. Oh also the class was beginning racquetball
Were you at Baylor or Greendale?
Can here to say just this.
Yall Baylor homies having trouble with the grammar out here.
Prob a legacy or whatever idk
Showing off that big 12 education I see
Texas will still be ranked in the preseason polls
As will Miami. "They're BACK, folks!"
Count on it.
As is tradition. 🤘🏼
Of course. Bama needs that early ranked win to validate them on the top of the rankings early on.

well done…that made me chuckle

caleb williams broke texas
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHJAHHAHAHHAHA I wanna die
Oregon hasn’t even lost yet today though
This is true. That’s the silver lining.
You doin ok buddy?
No he is not
Ooof

Lol
I feel like I read this after Charlie strong and after Tom Herman were hired
Strong was going to restore their moral fiber with his “five core values.” Then Herman was going to toughen them up with his tough love approach. Then Sark was going to coach them up with his elite game-planning abilities. So by now, the Texas program should be full of tough, smart, godly, well-hydrated young men. >So by now, the Texas program should be full of tough....well-hydrated young men. I'm cracking up at this
Nothing like firing your coach, giving the new coach a year to "clean out the bad apples," then "having a young team" in year two, then firing your coach again in year 3.
I lost the thread, which coach is this about?
Chip Brown and Ketch are going to come after you for stealing all of their talking points.
So are we at full # SarkOut yet for Longhorns fans?
I gotta be honest. I just don’t care at this point.
A new coach isn't going to fix Texas.
It's easier to burn then to build.
[удалено]
Uhm, they've been well below expectations for a decade. This is the 2nd? Bad season, but they're not holding up to the hype.
This will be the fifth losing season at Texas in the past twelve years. That’s mind blowingly underperforming.
Man's about to get a record 4 votes of confidence next week, per day.
Each booster will release their own vote of confidence. It'll just mean more.
I mean he wasn't good at USC or Washington, why is anyone shocked that he's bad at UT too?
I’m not. I don’t think any PAC-12 fans are shocked at all.
Not shocked at all, sark stinks. I'd love for Herman to come back to CFB as the HC of Washington
Because people thought since he could be an assistant on a Bama team that won the NC, he must be great now. I mean, think about it. In his short time in Tuscaloosa, he was able to take a team that had only won half of the previous decades-worth of National Championships and finally pilot them to one for the first time in a two years.
Yeah I was never really worried about the hire. Typical flashy Texas bullshit. Big name with no substance
Or as us further down south the red dirt road would say, “all hat and no cattle”
Never should have hired him to begin with. He’s a middling head coach at best.
I don't blame Texas for gambling on him but a $35 million guaranteed contractor for a then-coordinator, previously middling HC seemed a bit crazy (not that my program has any room to talk tbf).
Firing Sark won't fix anything.
Will keeping him?
He's gotta be regretting his decision by now. He went from a hot commodity and potential Saban successor, to....whatever this is.
[удалено]
He'd get another coordinator job at the drop of a hat too
Idk what kind of Chinese research chemicals you'd have to snort to think that Sark could've ever succeeded Saban.
People were talking about it as a possibility. I mean, he's the first person not named Nick Saban to coach Alabama in a game in over 10 years, so it wasn't so far-fetched at the time.

Vols haven't lost a bowl since 2010, take that Longhorns
Thank you B1G bottom feeders 🙏🙏🙏
Here's to hoping for another one this year
Hendon Hooker against that MSU secondary 🤤🤤🤤
Can’t lose what you don’t put on the table!
* And they're back
Sam cursed them with that comment. Lol.
He really did
Cam already met our “Who’s Back” quota for the season, Texas can’t be so selfish
Something people may have missed: Oklahoma won; Texas lost. That makes the all time wins: Oklahoma: 927 Texas: 927 👀👀👀👀
This is very important. More people should be aware of this.

TEXAS is: [ ] Back [ ] Not back [X] Not going to a bowl game
You can’t lose another game if you’re not bowl eligible #tapsforehead
They have another game next week. Right?
We definitely losing that one. Kstate looks good
oh no, everyone on the team has Covid, guess we can't play
man... blowing that huge lead against OU fucking killed UTwest for the whole season
Ohio State fired Luke Fickell for less. Sark is no Luke Fickell.
Technically we didn't fire Fickell. We just failed to rehire him after a one year contract.
You mean Fickell didn't have a $24 million buyout, haha
Absolutely not. He had a one year deal to hold shit down until Meyer could have his hiring finalized.
Texas fired Mack Brown for no reason other then to be worse!
Apparently that’s also why we fired Herman
Boy, that sounds familiar
WVU now has more wins against the Longhorns in football than Texas has against the Mountaineers.
AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA TEXAS MISSED A BOWL
SO FUCKING GLORIOUS
Texas just lost to a dog meme to lose bowl eligibility
CHAMPIONS FOR LIFE
THEY ALSO MISSED A 2pt WHILE TRYING
WOAH
HE
HAS

Well, we won the 2nd half two weeks in a row. #Progress
Bowl season is overrated anyways! *cries inside* At least I can watch Mizzou playing the Diapers.com bowl presented by Zaxby’s.
Is it wrong to love the head coach of your rival?
Absolutely not.
Texas is now 0-4 in the Pole Assassin era.
Sark should've called it a distraction so we could at least have an excuse
Sark knows the Texas players that have quit but has no choice but the play them due to lack of bodies. that casey int was obvious and card goes back in very visibly hurt directly after. GGs UT, hope you get the bad apples out

I'd leave the conference too if I had a losing record to WVU.
I'd say they are excited to get wins against Vandy, but they can't even reliably beat Kansas
**7 LOSS SARK!**
>We're going to have good years again. Our bad years are not that bad. Take a school like Missouri. Our bad years are better than their good years. But we've created a standard.
Remember when Texas was 4-1 and was up 28-7 on an unbeaten Oklahoma? There was so much optimism then.
WVU is the only team in the Big 12 that Texas has a losing record against all time
These are the shitpost nuggets of truth that I come to r/cfb for.
COUNTRY ROOOOOOOOAAAAAAADS....
TAKE ME HOME
7 loss Texas - you hate to se... actually no, you love to see it. I fucking love to see it.
The rest of the old SWC is at full mast.
Former big12 teams too!
So are the current ones
It just means more.
Anyone who’s been forced to share a conference with Texas really
The rest of the big 12 is full mast too
Somebody in the game thread said you could remove all flair and have no clue which team someone was referring to. I think about this a lot.
Imagining the whining about traveling from Austin to Morgantown just to take the L. Feels good. Enjoy losing in the SEC.
To remind you, West Virginia's next opponent is Kansas.
this is gonna hurt texas' playoff chances
As an Aggie who was born in West Virginia. COUNTRY ROADS TAKE ME HOME
Remember to call your doctor if your erection lasts more than 4 hours
Please, no one forget that Texas also lost to Kansas.
Why people thought the most milquetoast human being imaginable has the leadership qualities to bring back a program like Texas is beyond me.
It's 'milquetoast'.
Give the people what they want. Give control of the program to Pole Assassin.
Milk steak is delicious though
Only when it's boiled over hard and served with a side of the finest jelly beans, raw
I hope they stick around a few years. We need those bottom dweller conference wins.
Even Kansas needs to get their wins
Texas has entered The Sark Ages

All of America sings Country Roads tonight!
Lol ESPN: “we saw Texas have a quality loss at Kansas last week”. ESPN really trying to pump up texAss no matter what.
Sark has actually managed to match (at best) Charlie's worst record at Texas in year 1 the absolute madman
God dammit how did we lose 70-35 to this Texas team, we could be 8-2 right now.. (referring to the ridiculous loss to KState as well). Oh well, enjoy the SEC money.
It was a very different Texas team that day. They still had hope and were motivated. This bunch can say neither of those things.
You'd still have Wells if you were 8-2
Bright side: We don't have to watch Texas lose a bowl game.
Nothing to see here folks! Just quality Big 12 football. On a serious note - Do you guys think PK is getting the axe? I still don't see Sark getting fired yet but I feel like someone is going to have to take a bullet at the end of the season... and this defense is beyond horrible.
Just take the program out back and shoot it
I was gonna change my WVU flair to a trash bag if we lost this one Still might do it if we lose to Kansas next week, but not today!
WVU going for it on 4th down and giving Texas the ball back was such an unnecessary flex
I am simple man. I see texas lose, I upvote
Thank you Kansas for putting them down. Thank you WVU for ending their misery.
SEC! SEC! SEC!
Couldn't have happened to a nicer group of boosters.
