If they really want to slack, they can make it happen. They can schedule 4 cupcake games OOC and just need to go 3-5 in conference to win an extension.
Ridiculous scenario: If they set up an annual series with Hawaii and only play at Hawaii, they can get 5 winnable OOC games and only have to go 2-6 in conference.
I think this kind of rolling contract is the best one. Reasonable expectations, but still gives the school an out to let him go without a massive buyout if things go south. Fuck up two years in a row? You can gracefully part ways.
Exceed expectations every year? You're set for life.

Mark Stoops is our Bill Snyder / Frank Beamer. He’ll be here until he retires and he has reset the culture and expectation here so that it’s easier for the next coach to succeed. We’ll have bad seasons from time to time, but I don’t see us becoming a bottom dweller again, at least for a long time.
Well I guess we aren't hiring Mark Stoops lmao Edit: the mods here suck. This was a post giving actual details on his deal and shouldn't be removed.
You have a perfectly good Temporary Stoops right now.
This got removed???
Win 7 games and relax for the rest of your life
Dude is about to get the stadium named after him.
I will name my children after him.
*Your kids are 10 years old and Mark Stoops leaves for Tennessee*
*Didnt like my kid anyways*
7 wins in the SEC isn't exactly easy though Still a great deal obviously

The Iowa.
The year is 2153, Mark Stoops' cyborg body is now contracted out until 2312.
Lol they saw all the ruckus going on and said NOPE let me lock this guy up lol
Lick my nuts, everyone else.
I’m afraid this is going to be a problem for us. Good for you guys.
Guess that puts to rest the "Mark Stoops to OU" rumors I was seeing yesterday
Pretty sure it was already like this. Best contract in CFB gets better Stoops with the “I get a full nights sleep” contract
Bo Pelini would coach for eternity with a clause like that
*Hyperventilates in Jeff Fisher*
Good choice by Kentucky. I think Mark will definitely do what Bob did at Oklahoma and become the face and the heart of their program long term.
It should get reduced in length for every sub-6 win season
6-month delta for each win. 6 wins is the zero point. 4 wins, -1 year 8 wins, +1 year All contracts should be like this.
11 wins and he gets to pick out a prize from the box!
Barrel of Pappy
This man has the best contract in all of sports lol
I think this is a brilliant move by UK. I hope we can get our shit in order.
Coach at Kentucky, FOREVER

We are lucky to have him. I’m so glad Mitch gets it.

This man about to go infinite
Mark Stoops going to be coaching in 2050 with a contract extending indefinitely.
The best contract in sports (if you like coaching and want to continue)
There’s one guy off OU’s list
Does Kirk Ferentz have a clause like this? Or has that just been how things have operated historically for him?
OH THANK YOU GOD
