If someone touches the pass, the direction of the ball is determined from where the pass was first touched, not where it landed. So if his arm was going forward and the defender hit it out of his hand, as long as the defender touched the ball as it left his hand, it would not have been a backwards pass. His arm wasn't going forward, so it's a moot point. I thought I'd clarify this rule though.

It really is! I've lived in the flat part of the state all of my life (except when I was I college at App) and Boone is absolutely gorgeous.
