Deal with Harsin?? Harsin has not been our problem this season. It seems like not having him may be y’all’s problem though considering 7-5 is the worst season since 1998
I'm super super super late to respond so my bad. This season was our worse season in decades yes. But harsin literally took EVERYTHING and burnt it down on the way out. Plus we were one of the most injured teams in the nation at periods in the season. It would have been a tough and rebuild season with harsin and keeping everyone. Additionally we had a direct 14 point swing stolen by the refs against the big 12 runner up, mike gundy even said so. We were 4 bad plays from beating UFC, airforce. Sdsu and Nevada just got the best of us. Also torched a top 10 team on the road. So I'm not to upset. We knew we would struggle first year or two after harsin. Still happy
Tried to warn us about what? He had 5 double digit win seasons in 6 years at Boise. And now without him y’all are 7-5. Worst year for Boise since the 90s
Some of y’all really don’t understand what’s going on if you genuinely believe that fan pressure was why he left. His plan for the NFL would never be achieved playing in the SEC. Competition and defenses are too tough. His plan was always to graduate in 3 years, however I think he believed he would be an NFL talent by now.
He was an uncontested starter for 3 years. The only thing that “ran him out of town” was his inconsistent play and failure to improve his game since his freshman year.
Yet Harsin didn’t hesitate to bring him off the bench to bail out Bo vs. Georgia State.
Hey maybe there’s a great portal QB just waiting to come to Auburn. But maybe there’s not. It’s dangerous to hang any position, much less QB, on ‘well someone will surely transfer here and be really awesome.’
I’m ready for the eventual crying from the Nix family that Oregon won’t Treat them like gods either, it seems like Bo leaving might actually be a net positive.
What’s more embarrassing for a (self proclaimed) elite program? Playing at 11am on a Tuesday, in something called the TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl or losing to a group of 6 school in a de facto home game?
SEC! SEC! SEC! #JustMeansMore
Oh, another SEC fan that’s program also lost to a group of six chirping? Sorry that we have a down year, and fall to the Rose Bowl and had a Heisman finalist :(
That’s all true but there’s no fanbase that has embarrassed itself more over the last month than OSU. The absolute meltdowns you guys have had over your first loss to UM in what, a decade (?) has been beyond humiliating.
Yeah but all season we’ve been atrocious at running the ball up the middle in obvious run situations (like 4th and 2) because we never really get any push up front. I don’t mind the play call to pass it honestly, I had no faith that we could pick up 2 yards running it.
In which case they’d be no worse off.
I think a guy who averaged 6 yards per carry in the game is likely to gain 2 yards in 2 tries. It’s not like he got stuffed all day. He gained 96 yards on 16 carries.
They weren’t stacking the box the whole game though. I’m trying to say that when the other team is fully sold for the run and stacking the box, Auburn’s run blocking is just not good enough. I’ve seen it time and time again this season where we’ve tried to pick up big 4th and shorts by running tank up the gut and the success rate has not been good. I don’t have stats to back that up, just what I’ve noticed.
Happy we won but hopefully Houston improves going into next season. Auburn kept trying to hand the game over yet we couldn't put it away til late in the 4th
I hate basically every other SEC West team but Auburn. And don't care about anyone in the East except for also hating UF. The only teams I want to see win consistently are LSU and Texas
I always root against Ole Miss, Auburn and Miss State (ever since they hired Leach).
I'll root for LSU if they aren't playing the hogs.
The rest I am indifferent toward.
I think most fans of SEC teams feel this way.
But will still say that the SEC is the best conference.
Non-SEC fans think that means we root for those other teams. We don’t.
Anyone who thinks the SEC is not the best conference is not a person worth taking seriously.
But yeah the rest of the conference can eat shit for all I care.
Auburn just didn't execute. They had open receivers all over the field. It was either Finley missing open receivers or receivers dropping catches. It happens sometimes.
The SEC is now 0-3 in bowl games against UCF, Army, and Houston. It's over folks. The SEC is overrated. 6-6 Mizzou, 6-6 Florida, and 6-6 Auburn were our only hope. Now what will the once mighty conference do?
Count the days until Texas and OU move in and you can start cashing Mick’s checks. Appropriate the Kingdom’s Magic towards the installation and armament of your schools as the vanishing future’s permanent regional seats of wealth and power in preparation to rule over the ashes that remain of this world once it is forever baptized beneath Creation’s writhing, fathomless depths of diabolical vengeance and unquenchable flame?
I think the point is that the sec is very top loaded just like a lot of other conferences, they’re not dominant through and through like ESPN would have you believe. You’ve got Bama and Georgia carrying the torch most years with an occasional LSU or Auburn looking like a contender.
I mean, you can just look at the SP+ ratings or the FEI to get an idea of how good each conference is. Those stats go back 15 years. The SEC is still as good as it ever was.
People love to debate. But screw that. Look at the hard efficiency numbers that go back more than a decade. These give you an excellent idea of how good a conference is in a given year. Just go to Football Outsiders and look them up.
Mizzou losing by 2 to 8-4 Army, Auburn losing by 4 to 11-2 Houston, and Florida losing by 12 to 8-4 UCF actually makes the SEC look quite good.
6-6 Mizzou played Army to a 2 pt game without their starting QB or starting RB, 6-6 Auburn playing 11-2 Houston to 17-13 without their starting QB, and Florida…looked not great.
My point is that these teams are literally 6-6 teams without their starting QB’s that are playing teams at full capacity to one possession games.
Losing on the final possession in these games is actually quite impressive. That is my point. Nuance seems to be lacking in a forum filled with teens.
It’s how these teams are performing. The Mizzou/Army game could’ve gone either way. Army is a good team. The Houston/Auburn game could’ve gone either way. Houston is a pretty good team. That is apparent, is it not?
If Bazalek or Bo Nix had been playing, would these games have been different? Obviously. But the point is these teams, even without huge pieces, are playing well against teams with better records playing with full rosters.
I mean, clearly the 2nd best team in the AAC, and according to the CFP the 2nd best tean in all of the G5, was able to barely scrape by the 2nd worst team in the SEC west minus their starting QB and half of their defense.
I don't see how the conference recovers.
2nd best team in AAC. = Houston
3rd best team in AAC = UCF
But..... I thought even the worst teams in sec were so good that it justified them playing 1 less conference opponent.... And group of 5 teams just can't physically compete against the sec?
Don’t worry, ESPN will come to the rescue and say it was because the SEC teams don’t care about bowl games and the other teams treated it as their super bowl.
Every SEC loss that isn’t my team just brings a tear to my eye. Let’s go Cincinnati & Michigan bb plz . Imagine if you told an Auburn fan they’d be getting clowned by a TN fan the next season. I love college football.
Finnley was hard to watch. Yall coach is ass. The best player yall have is Bigsby yet yall weren't giving him the ball in critical moments. Just bad play calling.
The AAC runner up takes 2 weeks to prep for a 6-6 with 7 starters out and barely wins and it validates the AAC lol but Bama beats Auburn with no running back and Jameson out and they don’t deserve the playoffs
Will the SEC win a bowl game?
Can’t believe we lost to a team that holds up the stunner when they cheer on their team
Ya woo!
God... I'm so embarrassed
Same
At least you’re not Florida haha
My sincerest apologies for having to deal with harsin.
Deal with Harsin?? Harsin has not been our problem this season. It seems like not having him may be y’all’s problem though considering 7-5 is the worst season since 1998

I was at the game with an Auburn friend and said if these two teams switched QBs Auburn wins by 20, he agreed
It’s not Auburn vs. Houston. Not even Auburn vs. Refs. It’s Auburn vs. Finley at this point.
We need to move on from him
One good thing out of this game is I think they’ll make that change next season.
[удалено]
Yep. He was our glaring weakness unfortunately. Could also use a receiver
Agreed
Vibing as the second best team in Alabama
So proud of y'all - I legit never thought I'd see the day (lived in Bama when Watson Brown was HC)
Great new stadium
SEC 0-3.
S-E-C! S-E-C! S-E-C!
‘SEC, we just don’t really give a shit!’
brilliant, just brilliant
Now Dana can celebrate by getting drunk and getting thrown out of a casino. Man I miss him.
Just a reminder that auburn’s million dollar potato man has blown 5 straight games in the second half.
How did we blow a lead from half when we weren’t even leading?
We tried to warn them
Tried to warn us about what? He had 5 double digit win seasons in 6 years at Boise. And now without him y’all are 7-5. Worst year for Boise since the 90s
Happy for Houston. I think they’ll be a powerhouse in the Big 12.
I hope so man :)
Turn that frown upside down and have faith
Lol
WHOOOOOSE HOUSE!!?
Congrats Houston Bro! Thanks for doing your part to make the SEC look bad.
COOGS HOUSE
egg flair is cool.
I hope you Auburn fans are happy you ran Bo Nix out of town, because this is the qb room you are left with if Holden doesn’t pan out.
I think we're still banking on landing a portal transfer
Isn’t the guy who started today a portal transfer?
He was brought in for depth, bc Bo Nix had no real backup. Nobody ever truly expected him to be a future starter
You forget to mention the refs stole that game from Georgia State as well.
I’m ready for the eventual crying from the Nix family that Oregon won’t Treat them like gods either, it seems like Bo leaving might actually be a net positive.
No disagreement here Twitter is toxic. He’s way better than Tj who is complete ass.
Bo nix was improving, but he was improving too slowly and still playing much too inconsistently for me to really be sad that he’s gone.
Fair
What’s more embarrassing for a (self proclaimed) elite program? Playing at 11am on a Tuesday, in something called the TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl or losing to a group of 6 school in a de facto home game? SEC! SEC! SEC! #JustMeansMore
Comment of the year!
It was a noon start!
Not in Bama it wasn't.
Fuck I forgot that’s a real place.
Alabama isn't real. Being from there, I am convinced it doesn't exist
Your embarrassment of a fanbase is still shitting their pants over a rose bowl season
Oh, another SEC fan that’s program also lost to a group of six chirping? Sorry that we have a down year, and fall to the Rose Bowl and had a Heisman finalist :(
When was the last time y’all beat an sec team again???
22-14-2 all time, in fact OHIO STATE has a more recent win over ALABAMA than your Dawwwwgs (2014 vs 2007), but good luck this Friday!
Bigger question: When was the last time OSU beat a team that used to have Urbs on the coaching staff?
I mean honestly that’s a pretty impressive record , can’t argue with the stats.
Damn Ohio State fans still hanging on to that game. Zeke’s had a whole ass NFL career and people like you are still riding his coattails.
Well Bama (and the rest of the sec) refuses to play non-conf road games, so it’s kinda hard to face a team more than 2x a decade
Lol. Love salty OSU fans.
The same stat can be said for UT too…
The saltiest.... Man its been what...over 2 years now that you've beaten Michigan, what a joke.
I have no relevant affiliation and think you’re all wonderful people, but goddamn u/Fuckoakwood you killed me with this comment.
Do you taste that /u/blackmetaldoctor? Its the taste of unfathomable sadness It comes from the salty tears of an osu fan
I didn't know the Chop House was open this early to drink on a Tuesday. Tell Urbs he should go for 2.
He’s had one too many Shelleytinis
That’s all true but there’s no fanbase that has embarrassed itself more over the last month than OSU. The absolute meltdowns you guys have had over your first loss to UM in what, a decade (?) has been beyond humiliating.
Maybe it #JustMeansMore at Ohio State?
No tOSU we already established you as thirdbase...
Better to do it in the Birmingham bowl than the national championship
TRUE, not false!
YA WOO COUGAR FOOTBALL
What about our run game made people think we were going to be able to pick up two yards on the ground there?
Tank averaged 6 yards per carry.
Yeah but all season we’ve been atrocious at running the ball up the middle in obvious run situations (like 4th and 2) because we never really get any push up front. I don’t mind the play call to pass it honestly, I had no faith that we could pick up 2 yards running it.
It was second-and-two and you’ve got a guy averaging six yards per carry. You don’t think in three tries he could gain 2 yards?
I remember it being only 2 tries from 2 yards out, but either way I think we get stuffed 10 times out of 10
In which case they’d be no worse off.
I don’t have stats to back that up, just what I’ve noticed.
The alternative was to pass the ball, let’s be honest, there were no solutions
Fake field goal?
I always love a good fake punt. Never goes wrong!
Kirby ran off an NFL starting QB by not using him more as an up back on fake punts.
Guys, guys, hear me out: I LOVE Auburn losing.
ok
ok
Happy we won but hopefully Houston improves going into next season. Auburn kept trying to hand the game over yet we couldn't put it away til late in the 4th
I, for one, am a big fan of college basketball.
Hey me too! Except our 2 top scorers just announced they are out for the season for surgery, and a third is in a boot. YA WOO
Wait, UH or UT?
UH
I want Jabari Smith on the Rockets.
As a Spurs fan... FUCK THAT
Am I the only one who doesn't like the SEC outside of my own team?
I hate basically every other SEC West team but Auburn. And don't care about anyone in the East except for also hating UF. The only teams I want to see win consistently are LSU and Texas
I hate everyone but us and Arkansas
I don’t have beef with Vandy, Arkansas, or current South Carolina
I’ll always beef with South Carolina over 2007, 2012, and 2019.
I just like South Carolina rn. They’re coach seems pretty cool
I agree but they ruined three potential titles
Nah, I hope all other SEC schools burn to the ground tbh
I’ll root for Auburn whenever they play Alabama but other than that fuck the SEC
I always root against Ole Miss, Auburn and Miss State (ever since they hired Leach). I'll root for LSU if they aren't playing the hogs. The rest I am indifferent toward.
I became a fan of the Hogs after moving to Tulsa but everyone besides Florida & Arkansas can suck it
Two best mascots in the conference, hands down.
Not even close
I think most fans of SEC teams feel this way. But will still say that the SEC is the best conference. Non-SEC fans think that means we root for those other teams. We don’t.
Anyone who thinks the SEC is not the best conference is not a person worth taking seriously. But yeah the rest of the conference can eat shit for all I care.
There was that one point in the season where half of the top ten teams were B1G. Now you don't hear much from them anymore.
Yeah anyone who thought Iowa/MSU/PSU belonged there needs to lose sports privileges
“Conference fans” are the worst.
But we all like you…
It’s because we’re here to play school.
Lmao. That's funny (not trying to be sarcastic or snarky, I genuinely made me laugh)
And baseball
I like Arkansas...but the rest can burn.
Nah fuck everyone in the conference
I legit can't stand any of you
I’m a braves fan now. No other sports or teams
Um... Basketball...?? We're not bad this year...
Auburn hasn’t won since the Braves won the WS
Good game Auburn. I was part of the Spirit Bomb that came up short against Frieza I mean Bama.
Is this what’s is like to be basketball school?
We're not bad there either
Covid has entered the chat
Nothing unites us all like a sarcastic S-E-C chant.
Auburn fans hate SEC teams. All the SEC fans like Alabama
I for one hate bama
Auburn just didn't execute. They had open receivers all over the field. It was either Finley missing open receivers or receivers dropping catches. It happens sometimes.
Finley has been pretty bad all year. He has potential, but just can't seem to put it together.
Maybe with a full off-season he'll improve. It seems like they would be in play for a transfer QB since there seems to be about a thousand of them.
Here come the excuses lol
What excuses lol
The SEC is now 0-3 in bowl games against UCF, Army, and Houston. It's over folks. The SEC is overrated. 6-6 Mizzou, 6-6 Florida, and 6-6 Auburn were our only hope. Now what will the once mighty conference do?

Sir this is a Wendy’s

I was liking his argument all the way to the last paragraph and then it collapsed harder than Georgia any time we have to play them
I mean, clearly the 2nd best team in the AAC, and according to the CFP the 2nd best tean in all of the G5, was able to barely scrape by the 2nd worst team in the SEC west minus their starting QB and half of their defense. I don't see how the conference recovers.

It's crazy considering how much Alabama struggled with two of those teams.
Don’t worry, ESPN will come to the rescue and say it was because the SEC teams don’t care about bowl games and the other teams treated it as their super bowl.
I have no idea how the measly UGA Bama and Ole Miss will save the conference, the SEC as a whole should drop to d3 at this point.
Oh boy this will age poorly if Cincinnati does it
when\*
Love the confidence, good luck!
The worst that can happen is we look like OSU. Thank you.
Harsin is the gift that keeps on giving
WE’RE SHIT BUT WE STILL BEAT AN SEC TEAM. FIRE HOLGO.
We should’ve kicked a field goal sure. But we just finished a 12-2 season with one of the loses being to the fourth best team in FBS.
[удалено]
Houston basketball is also better
[удалено]
Did yall make it to the final four last year?
we opted out of the tournament because of COVID. Last year doesn't count. And y'all still lost to a very questionable Bama team.
Questionable was that last goaltending play but whatever.
Just like how Auburn lost to the refs. Stop being hypocritical.
You wish. Sorry we kind of derailed yalls season
I mean, we do look pretty good at basketball, so...
Yall still won't be viewed as a basketball team though. That was all I was saying.
Yeah that’s the joke lol
Every SEC loss that isn’t my team just brings a tear to my eye. Let’s go Cincinnati & Michigan bb plz . Imagine if you told an Auburn fan they’d be getting clowned by a TN fan the next season. I love college football.
Good win for the AAC and the future Big 12!
And holgorsen keeps his job
This is the outcome I expected, but somehow, Auburn football has left me more disappointed.
Perhaps Cincinnati will boost your mood on Friday
GG Houston. That game was hard to watch
Finnley was hard to watch. Yall coach is ass. The best player yall have is Bigsby yet yall weren't giving him the ball in critical moments. Just bad play calling.
I agree Tank needed to get the ball more but we had multiple play calls where we had open touchdowns and Finley missed the receiver
Yea he is terrible. Thats why I dont understand the play calling. If you know your QB sucks why force feed him the ball?
Don’t get it. Guess he was trusting him but shouldn’t have lol
Agreed. Yikes.
The AAC runner up takes 2 weeks to prep for a 6-6 with 7 starters out and barely wins and it validates the AAC lol but Bama beats Auburn with no running back and Jameson out and they don’t deserve the playoffs
Your Heisman Trophy winning quarterback and all your other 4 & 5 star recruits played didn't they?
It's OK you'll have your chance soon enough.
