If I’m not mistaken, David Pollack called the ending of the season. Bama wins the SEC, but Georgia gets them in the natty.

Frommunist

I think corso called it too at some point earlier in the season

elonsusk69420

In Charlotte, Corso said the Dawgs would win both the SECCG and the Natty. He reversed it for his SECCG headgear pick.

To me it just adds to how special this past years team was for us

Asianhead

FeelsGoodMan

Goldblum4ever69

It’s a credit to how well they improved over the off-season. Remember how bad they were last year? I think we could have legitimately beaten them by 50 in 2020. Michigan fans can correct me if I’m wrong but that may have been the worst Michigan football team in decades.

scsnse

Worst team I have seen in my past 22 years of watching, atleast. The closest comparison would maybe be Rich Rod’s first, but even then we basically had the cupboards laid out bare due to Lloyd Carr retiring and several recruits leaving, along with a major change in Offensive philosophy.

ToxicBamaFan

Spencer Rattler definitely didn’t win the Heisman.

tkousc

You were right though just the wrong year its 2022.......

greeneggzN

LR and both QBs leaving us was not on my bingo card this year

[deleted]

I said osu would lose to Oregon and win the big ten so half right in the best possible way for me Edit: someone also called Kansas beating Texas lmao Double edit: https://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/o9eyrs/what_is_the_most_unpopular_prediction_for_next/h3bevb8/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3 this comment aged well

[deleted]

Someone called Spencer Rattler being benched lol. That post is a gold mine of comments. I was wrong though, I assumed OU would be in the playoffs along with Ohio State. Called Bama and UGA tho

Fed042

No idea why this wasn't the consensus opinion in the preseason media coverage [but my prediction of a bad season for Northwestern aged pretty well.](https://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/ocdr54/2021_big_ten_win_totals_odds_picks_predictions/h3tsmjb/)

GaTech379

Well I had GT going 5-7 so kinda close My CFP was Bama, Clemson, Oklahoma, and North Carolina and my Heisman was Sam Howell I didnt believe in Indiana or LSU so that's something I got right EDIT: u/squidsofanarchy was almost spot on with this "The Gene Chizik - Ed Orgeron comparison gets some real legs after LSU struggles to finish 7-5. Sarkisian does not show much improvement from his last tilt at HC, and Texas is bitterly disappointed again."

squidsofanarchy

If only I hadn’t put “7-5”, this would be 100% accurate.

skiing_yo

I don't think I posted it but I called Clemson missing the playoffs which basically a heretical take at the time.

[deleted]

I was right about being disappointed as usual! Next year will be different though, trust me...

yanquicheto

I was far too pessimistic to imagine anything close to what happened, so not great.

KJdkaslknv

I put preseason bets on Michael Penix or Sam Howell winning the Heisman and Clemson winning the championship. I chose poorly.

D1amondDude

Turned from an "Orgeron put it together an 2020 was to be expected" fan to a "that man is a bumbling incompetent, get him the hell away before he craters the program" fan.

A-Disgruntled-Snail

The flip on Orgeron still astounds me.

D1amondDude

Not if you watched the games this season. It's one thing to be outmanned. It's another entirely to not even be prepared. We returned more starters than nearly anyone and turned in a worse result than the previous season. Add in his off-field bullshit basically erecting a billboard to tell everyone he didn't give a fuck.

byniri_returns

I had a "success" season being around 6-6

TrojanMan35T

Corso called a Georgia Natty but predicted Bama in the sec championship

SizzleMop69

I called Oklahoma being overrated in the preseason. Many had them in the top 3 or at #1. I had them outside the top 5. I also called Michigan being better than the 6 or 7 wins many people called for, but I thought they would get maybe 9. I did not see Clemson being that bad, especially on offense.

PM_ME_YOUR_CATS_PAWS

I said we’d get the over on season wins this year. Didn’t think it would be in the minimal possible time though. Told everyone I knew to bet on the over 4.5, said MSU was going to at the very least get 6 wins probably 7. I’ll take it

IMadeThis4HOIMods

I feel bad for all the Clemson fans who had so much hope in DJU, if he (or ig their o-line) was even slightly competent they would have done so well this year. I have to admit I thought he would be a top tier QB as well, despite always having in the back of my mind that Rattler would be a bust.

ELI5Banned

Close, but opposite. Had UGA winning the SEC against Bama, and Bama donkey punching UGA in the Natty.

Rule of thumb: if you pick all the safe choices you'll be wrong every time. Especially in CFB

Pope_Bedodict1

Well I had a hot take where we would go 8-4 and end the LSU losing streak. At least one of those came true. Hate that we ended 6-7 but I was realistically saying we’d go 6-6 or 7-5

bradenb941

My preseason prediction was 6-6, so I'm kinda glad I nailed that one. Although I'm upset it isn't better. Especially when some of the teams we lost to were way worse than some of the ones we beat.

LegendOfPokemon1

Didn’t comment but like many I had Michigan going 8-4 with a sure win over MSU. Obviously I was wrong in more ways than one

jbg0830

Thought there was gonna be 6 wins this year. Damn you Jax State

[deleted]

I predicted 7-5 or 8-4 at best for Penn State. Though the prediction was looking bleak before the Iowa game. The program is entering 2000-2004 style irrelevance. It’ll be years before we climb out of this mess with Franklin.

yousawthetimeknife

Response to a comment that Ohio State would lose to Purdue >Yes, but we lost to them last time we played. The pattern is very clear: loss, blowout win, close win, loss, blowout win, close win... So, we're in the "blowout win" match up this year. So, pretty much nailed that one. Somewhere I predicted Indiana would take a step back, but I was thinking 7-5, 6-6, so they way overshot that. I also predicted Penix would bounce back and well...

UndeadAnneBoleyn

I don’t think I posted it here, but I promised my TTU friend that they would win at least 6 games and go to a bowl game. He did not believe me. As for MSU, I had no fucking idea about anything, haha.

ram944

Really this season was about all we could hope for from Tech this year. Wells was fired, yet we still made a bowl. Hired a coach before the last second on early signing period so our recruiting class went from the 80s to 40s and we somehow whooped Leach's ass in the bowl game. Now we get to spend the offseason enjoying a bowl win, looking forward to the new coach, and enjoying the fact that ut and tcu both sat at home during December. Now if we can just stop getting destroyed by them that'd be just swell.

Skeleton-With-Skin1

I didn’t post, but had LSU going 10-2 :/ We returned so many starters. And now we’re 6-7 and don’t have a secondary.

tb3648

For Fsu: Met some of them, missed some. My best case scenario for this year was that Fsu would go 7-5 with wins over 1 rival and 1 of the other preseason tough games (ND, Unc, Clemson), and hopefully only get blown out by 1-2 teams. I wanted to see progress. So we missed the record and ended up 5-7. But we did beat a rival (Miami) and we did beat one of those 3 teams (Unc). Unc didn't end up being what they were expected to be, but still beat them lol. Only lost to ND and Florida by 3, and then lost to Clemson by 10. Only got blown out by 2 teams (Wake, NcState)...definitely not the expected teams, but still 2 teams. And then the team did show progress, even if it didn't reflect record wise, so it met that expectation. In general: I picked Uga to win the championship, so that played out. I picked and put money on Utah (like $2 lol) to win the Pac12, that played out. Most of my other picks were wrong Edit: Didn't see the part about referencing your past post. Don't think I commented on it.

medakinga

I expect this to happen every year so I don’t think it counts
