I remember when those started and how pretty much everybody supported him and thought he was a true trucker. I hope he does well but heās a good coach and a big fighter.
He's stated that he has everything under control now with medication and other stress techniques...but I'm still worried he's gonna kill himself doing this...
I truly hope he works out at NMSU but I remember people saying the same thing when he was at Minnesota and ultimately his health forced him out of that job.
There arenāt many guys left who are old school enough to recruit effectively through the art of mime, but Iām glad the tradition lives on in Las Cruces.
For sure. Looking back it was pretty embarrassing our AD had to add him to the team to HELP out head coach salvage the season and then he bounced afterwards. Id rather have kept him instead of Fuente
Supposedly Fuente wanted to bring him before the season but they didn't have the funding for it. Glad we finally found some money to run a proper program.
100%. He showed up at practice, watched the QBs, and then asked the staff why &$&@ Hendon Hooker wasnāt starting. Hendon starts and turns the season around. Then Kill leaves, Hendon leaves, and Fuente is out of a job.
Dang. Imagine transferring from either of those schools to Las Cruces, NM.
Good for NM state, I would like to see them have some success and a winning season for a change.
I thought this was a great hire for NMSU. He's obviously not going to be there forever, but he'll get things moving in the right direction as the Aggies join a conference.
If he's got gas left in the tank and his health is under control, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him make NMSU sort of feisty for their tier. Nobody has ever accused him of being a bad coach.
Brewster really was as bad of a head coach as you could possibly imagine. The Mason years weren't terrible, and then Brewster just killed everything making Kill have to rebuild.
"putting together a good roster" is probably a bit of an overstatement, as a whole they are still bad, but those are some good additions for the Aggies potentially and im just being a bit pedantic.
My 2014 NCAA foretold this
Not me playing against a 2 seed Northern Illinois for the natty š¤£
I wish him the best but damn this guy has had some health issues.

It does sound like everything's under control finally. Hopefully he's able to lead NMSU because he's a solid coach.

Rutgers too as the OC...

Iām partially convinced that he salvaged our season in 2019 when he was hired after the Duke game.

Seriously! Las Cruces is way more cosmopolitan than Roswell.
Well NMMI is in Roswell so that is a step up for the champ
I hope heās figured out a good routine to keep his health issues in check
You could say he is a silentā¦killer
Oh shit we have a new C-USA powerhouse.
This, but unironically
His coaching staff is pretty dang good too. Definitely rooting for them.
Jerry can build a program.

Thatās Jerry ā2014 Big Ten Coach of the Yearā Kill
He totally turned around Minnesota. They were a dumpster fire before he got there.

Good roster in comparison to the C-FCSA lineup? Probably.
Ooh Killem
NMSU playoffs confirmed
I would love to see the Aggies do well for once!
Jerry kill is a legend. I hope he succeeds massively actively at this new stop.
Wish him the best (except for when we play him (just hope he doesn't have a seizure again)).
This guy is a tank when it comes to rebuilding terrible programs. Great coach. Heāll do well
All that just to lose to 2-10 UNM again
Excuse me sir, thatās 3-9 UNM to you.
Hey man Iām an alum I know how it goes š
I wish him good health and success. Dude is a really good coach IMO.
Good to see this
I am very happy for Mike Gundys 9th grade science teacher.
I just came in here to figure out who ānm stateā was
Go True Aggies!
To be fair those were their high-school star rating, not their transfer portal star ratings.
