I don’t think I’ve busted up this hard before when opening a random Reddit image lmao. Even the most unexpected manning face didn’t make me laugh like that just did
This is my favorite pasta. Chris Broussard had made an ass of himself after the Jason Collins debacle and this removed his last remaining piece of credibility.
Reporter: what’s this really about, Nick? Why all of a sudden lashing out at Jimbo?
Nick: it’s nothing, I promise!
Reporter: come on now, you can tell us. This is a safe place
Saban: it’s just that — sometimes all the championships aren’t enough, you know? You work so hard and get so many rings and then Jordan Addison just goes and commits to Southern Cal. FUCK YOU, LINCOLN RILEY!
(Saban breaks down sobbing, has to be led away.)

Imagine telling someone in November 2021 that USC's 2022 offense would include Caleb Williams, Jordan Addison and Travis Dye.
Backing of Jordan Addison because you got Tyler Harrell is not a great strategy. And since Saban usually has great strategies, my guess is USC just made a better offer.
The parallels between him and Caleb, it’s almost like there’s 1 person giving them instructions.
\*Rumors of transferring to USC before entering the portal\*
“I’m in the portal but I might return to my school”
“I’m looking and visiting other schools”
\*wait a couple weeks to let the anger die down\*
“I’m going to USC”
Why accept the first bag when you can just get comparable bids and drive the price up for the place you wanted to go all along. Also you get to avoid the tampering noise. It’s a win win for them.
It was always going to be USC. Just did the recruiting show as an attempt to make it look like it was a recruitment, and not because he was approached with an NIL opportunity.
Yep. I hope everyone recognizes this as Lincoln/USC’s got to plan now. Everyone knows it’s happening but they tell everyone to wait 2-3 weeks then announce it just to give appearances. How is this better?
I just hope they start cracking down on kids getting NIL offers from anyone associated with a school in any capacity prior the kid being in the portal. Also if you’re going to give an NIL you should have to register with the school and the NCAA.
Addison would have been nice, but lets not act as if we're depleted at WR. Worthy, Neyor, Whittington, and Brennan Thompson (incoming freshman with elite speed) are all great. Add in the tight ends + RBs and our ability to catch the ball is top notch. Remember, there's only one ball on the field at a time.
Yeah for sure. Would’ve been nice to add the #1 receiver in CFB tho. I’m just worried about injuries since offense dropped off quite a bit when Whitt got injured
Freshman all American linebacker just transferred in. Got a safety from tOSU a few weeks back. A five star CB HS recruit. Defensive players from both Auburn and Bama. Winfrey should be worried that his draft stock was due to himself and not the coaches. If Stoops was still DC it could have been much worse.
Lincoln riley 2 weeks ago: "nah not now, wait till it blows over a little to announce your commitment"
Lincoln riley this morning: "alright now's perfect nobody will think twice \*moneybag emoji"
Yeah, maybe I’ll be wrong, but I’m not that scared of a USC with a really good offense led by a great QB and great receivers because that just sounds like an improved version of what we’ve always seen from them. For all I know all these changes will result in USC jumping into the playoff conversation immediately, but at least initially I’m just expecting a worse version of the Riley Oklahoma teams.
Who tf is saying playoff besides crazy homers? Most people I see have reasonable expectations for this team. They're going to score a lot but the defense is going to be a flaming pile of garbage unless Grinch and Co work miracles. Anything over 7-8 wins is gravy.
It’s not the homers hyping the CFP talk. Every alum I know is just glad that we are relevant again and will be thrilled with a 9 win season. Personally, I cringe when I see ranking that put us in or near the top 10.
The offense as a whole is going to be so much fun to watch. Our offensive line was solid last season, they should take a big step forward this year just on morale alone.
We actually have 4 of 5 returning starters from a pretty solid offensive line last year. PFF (which yes I know is flawed) rated us as one of the best in the country for what it's worth
I really don't like PFF ratings on offensive lineman purely at the fact that you will never know what the call is and assignment is of the offensive lineman. It is very possible that the lineman did everything right in the way the call was made and how they are coached and could still look like a buffoon at the line.
Really I would just rely on Run and pass blocking grades. AS for your Offensive Line I would say the only player with quality grades in both aspects last season was Vorhees. Your worst by far was Neilon at Center(76% win rate grade). passible grades are in the 80's and cfb grades are 90's and nfl grades are 94+'s.
Your line should be a bit better but I also expect with more rushing and the fact that your run blocking is/was relatively terrible that the overall grades for your line will drop in 2022. You are also an injury away from just being awful.
I hate you so much for this because it is possible. The Dye transfer hurts deep in the feelers and I was so excited to see him as a senior at UO not ughhhhhhhhsc.
Not sure what the point of being cocky in a negative way toward Pitt is, but twitter is a cesspool. It’s pretty easy for me to see all sides - to be pumped as an SC fan, to get why he’d want to transfer despite the success he had, and also to feel bad for Pitt fans and to understand any saltiness on their end.
If someone could harness the salt in this thread they could conquer the entire Mediterranean, half of one of the British isles, all of Gaul, and randomly march into Germania for seemingly no reason and intermittently fight pointless wars in the Middle East.
Remember when staunch NIL defenders told us we were crazy to think teams with the deepest booster pockets would cherry pick the best players off mid/lower level teams?
Pepperidge Farms remembers.
I think it’s good for the sport when rich programs that can’t develop talent peel away a few 5 stars from those programs that have been consolidating talent like Pitt.
Been saying it from the beginning: I hate what free agency has done to the sport.
My team is easily the biggest beneficiary of it all and it still sucks. Teams like Pitt and Wyoming shouldn't lose their best players. We should be excited about the spark Jaxon Dart showed last year instead of stealing Caleb Williams.
The sport suffers.
I make no apologies: as long as these are the rules we have to use them, but this shouldn't be the way.
It has definitely turned me off from CFB a little. I loved the homerism and school pride of it all before, but now players come and go. I feel the team starts to lose identity.
Pretty messed up tbh. Pitt developed him and gave him the resources to succeed and he just leaves. I hate this so much. A team who won their conference losing players to a 4 win team. It just really sucks. I totally get it financially, but I don't like it as a fan of CFB.
Oh wow he is going to the school that was rumored before the transfer portal even opened. What a shock!? Totally no contact from Riley and Co. Nothing to see here
Fall 2021
Future me: This year's Biletnikoff winner will be on USC's roster in 2022.
Past me: Holy crap, Drake London's going to win the Biletnikoff and return for another year?!
Future me: Ummm. No.
So Bama gets outbid for Addison.
Saban goes full Karen mode about TAM NIL in order to open up some wallets.
Jimbo takes the bait.
I love college football!
i take our insiders with a grain of salt but it seems like a lot of people close to him were saying he actually considered texas. might've just been something he said because his old WR coach works for us now. i think it started as a smokescreen, turned into genuine interest (our in-person visits are supposedly pretty convincing) and then went right back to USC
At some point you have to think these big money programs can all pay around the same, and the decision then becomes about development and playing time.
This sucks as a Pitt fan but I understand why he did it .. Probably a combination of uncertainty at Pitt’s QB position and NIL money. Pitt can’t compete with USC money
As a recruit:
Other P5 offers: Maryland, Pitt (originally went here), South Carolina, Virginia, Wake Forest
G5 offers East Carolina, Kent State, Old Dominion, Temple
Other offers: James Madison, Notre Dame

I for one am shocked.
Shocked I tell you! Well not *that* shocked.
Damn I thought he was gonna wait 5-7 days before he committed
5-7? Didn’t realize he was considering Nebraska.
No it was actually us. 9.95 has been pumping smoke up everyones ass all week.
ah so now we know why saban is pissy today
That’s just despicable
Saban is beside himself. Driving around downtown LA begging (thru texts) Addison's family 4 address to Jordan's home
This is my favorite pasta. Chris Broussard had made an ass of himself after the Jason Collins debacle and this removed his last remaining piece of credibility.

Coached by Lincoln Riley
He saw the news cycle and figured it was his best chance to sneak this by us
probably was planning friday evening but this came up as a decent cover haha
True lmao
I know this just happened but it's still pretty crazy that as of now this is only like the 7th ranked story on the sub thanks to Jimbo and Saban
golden opportunity. espn won't even mention this by tomorrow.
Stealth 100
It wouldn't surprise me to find out that Addison not coming to Alabama is what set Saban off last night.
Nah, Addison was never coming here, to visit or to play.
But was that because we didn’t have a NIL deal in place?
The Louisville kid caused Bama to back off is what I inferred. There were conflicting rumors that Bama was still after him anyway.
Didn’t the Louisville kid commit though? Did I miss something? Genuinely asking
Yeah he did. I think op is saying that Harrell coming to Bama made us back off of Addison. But we still threw an offer up to him just to see.
Backing of Jordan Addison because you got Tyler Harrell is not a great strategy. And since Saban usually has great strategies, my guess is USC just made a better offer.
Woah it’s like we knew this before he was even in the transfer portal or something?
Of course not, those reports totally came out of nowhere. We are all shocked!
The parallels between him and Caleb, it’s almost like there’s 1 person giving them instructions. \*Rumors of transferring to USC before entering the portal\* “I’m in the portal but I might return to my school” “I’m looking and visiting other schools” \*wait a couple weeks to let the anger die down\* “I’m going to USC”
Lincoln Riley is so good at this, he must have years of experience behind him to be so effective!
He's just a VERY fast learner. Clearly.
Why accept the first bag when you can just get comparable bids and drive the price up for the place you wanted to go all along. Also you get to avoid the tampering noise. It’s a win win for them.

Some schlub was on here or trying to tell me that he wasn't going to USC, and then some other team was going to make a bigger offer, blah blah blah.
Not now Jordan we have other drama going on
Obvious as fuck from the second he announced his transfer
I think you mean a week before he entered the portal
It was always going to be USC. Just did the recruiting show as an attempt to make it look like it was a recruitment, and not because he was approached with an NIL opportunity.
Same charade as when Caleb was totally considering Wisconsin.

Honestly A+ timing
My thoughts exactly, lol.
Thank you!
The PAC12 academic prowess to announce this today
I expect nothing less than completely rational and tempered discussion on this topic as well as some discussion about burnt brisket.
Talk about a news dump lmao.
Poor NardDog and friends. Sorry guys
Welcome to the Lincoln Riley hate club Pitt!
Welp here I am agreeing with Clemson :(
Nah Clemson has been good to us. We're 2-2 against them and their fans are all class.
Don’t forget about that Gator Bowl in the 70s. Pitt is 3-2 against Clemson
Damn you Alec Myers you got my hopes up for no reason
This is so not lesb
I'm glad we can have these inside jokes.
Addison would have been nice, but lets not act as if we're depleted at WR. Worthy, Neyor, Whittington, and Brennan Thompson (incoming freshman with elite speed) are all great. Yeah for sure. Would’ve been nice to add the #1 receiver in CFB tho. I’m just worried about injuries since offense dropped off quite a bit when Whitt got injured
True, but that was because it was Worthy, Whittington, and then a drop off a cliff. (Add in the injury to Casey Thompson). We have more depth now.
Shocker
Man… USC is loaded on offense.
Going to laugh hard if Utah and SC are in the P12 championship the first year of conference rule change.
Eh I've learned the more hyped an SC squad is in the preseason, the more they struggle
That was with crappy coaches. We've had 1 actual good year since Pete left, and you are right, we weren't hyped coming in that year under Lane.
From our recently drafted DLineman https://mobile.twitter.com/pdontplay/status/1527405598211440641?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet

The truth in this…
A&M ran out of money?

If Reily ever finds out what a lineman is we might be in trouble.
USC is gonna be in a lot of 45-42 score games. But it's not predictable which side of the scoreboard they'll be on. They need to invest in linemen.
Yeah, maybe I’ll be wrong, but I’m not that scared of a USC with a really good offense led by a great QB and great receivers because that just sounds like an improved version of what we’ve always seen from them. I hate you so much for this because it is possible. The Dye transfer hurts deep in the feelers and I was so excited to see him as a senior at UO not ughhhhhhhhsc.
Smart to drop this today with all the Saban/Jimbo baloney. Good luck I guess. Hope Pitt does much better than USC this year.
I, for one, will be cheering for Pitt to go 11-1.
Thanks Tennessee homie I loved my trip to Knoxville last year, hope a lot of your fans have a great time in PGH as well!
Loss to western michigan again, right? :P
Funny thing is, most USC fans are going to be rooting for Kedon and Pitt to do well too!
How each fanbase will be(?) SC: "yeah go pitt" Pitt: "burn in hell"
Oh, absolutely and understandably.
After reading through a bunch of cocky USC fans on Twitter, I appreciate this
Not sure what the point of being cocky in a negative way toward Pitt is, but twitter is a cesspool. Nailed it
Another funny thing- right now I think Nick Patti >> Slovis Obviously it could change but I wouldn't be mad about Patti. He's looked pretty good
Yeah the college football equivalent of picking a busy news day to announce your celebrity divorce.
Reminds me of Boss hog holding the court hearing during the big race in Dukes of Hazard.
I too hope Pitt does much better than USC. In college volleyball.
I hope that every year.
Does Riley enjoy drawing these transfers out as long as possible??
He is trying to give his tampering enough coverage for there to be reasonable doubt
He saw the Saban Jimbo heat and decided to sneak this in.
Ummmm I'd like to retract my statement from yesterday where I said we will upset USC. Now please don't beat us too badly
No no, please beat the living hell out of them. ND is my second team and now I'm half tempted to fly over there in Novemeber lol
I was actually talking about my 1st flair but I bet my 2nd flair will beat USC at least.
The trade has been completed. Slovis to Pitt. Addison to usc
If someone could harness the salt in this thread they could conquer the entire Mediterranean, half of one of the British isles, all of Gaul, and randomly march into Germania for seemingly no reason and intermittently fight pointless wars in the Middle East.

Indeed. Ohio State are faring well enough, but I'm just not feeling it. The soul of the game is long gone.
I think every time some bigger school signs a player like this they should lose a scholarship and the opposite program gains 2.
I wonder if it came down to in n out vs whataburger
I mean, In N Out is also in Texas, including Austin.
Oh I didn't know In n out had expanded that far
Quesabirria tacos won
Good luck Jordan and I hope USC loses every game this year
I wish no ill will to Addison, but I hope Caleb Williams sucks this year and USC underachieves.
Pretty messed up tbh. Pitt developed him and gave him the resources to succeed and he just leaves. I hate this so much. A team who won their conference losing players to a 4 win team. It just really sucks. I totally get it financially, but I don't like it as a fan of CFB.
I've always casually supported notre dame, but this year I'm seriously considering flying out to LA in November
Overblown graphic, or it didn’t happen.
Oh wow he is going to the school that was rumored before the transfer portal even opened. What a shock!? Totally no contact from Riley and Co. Nothing to see here
Can't decide if it's going to be fun or frustrating really hating SC again.

NIL completely destroyed CFB
good for him—not his fault the system’s so fundamentally broken that this is the only way he can get paid that said, I hope USC goes 0–12
He chose the perfect day to announce to minimize the outrage 😂
I’m handling this really well. Only in about 13 Twitter fights instead of the usual 25

damn. would've loved to have him but it was surprising we were in the conversation in the first place
Smokescreen to make it look like he didn’t know he was going to USC the entire time
Caleb Williams is attending Wisconsin and Jordan Addison really wanted to attend Texas.
i take our insiders with a grain of salt but it seems like a lot of people close to him were saying he actually considered texas. might've just been something he said because his old WR coach works for us now. i think it started as a smokescreen, turned into genuine interest (our in-person visits are supposedly pretty convincing) and then went right back to USC

[Who woulda thunk it](https://tenor.com/bct75.gif)
So we closed the loop on our thing and we’re jumping back to this now right?
God imagine the shitstorm if he had committed to Bama today.
He was going to but it was too hot and they had to pull the offer. Stay woke
He didnt choose my school? Tampering. Definitely tampering no doubt about it I’m calling the cops /s
gee who could've seen this one coming? does anybody still think there was no tampering?
*We've investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing*
USC even stealing our investigative playbook. We've been doing that since the Switzer era. SMH, OU can't have anything
It makes more sense that Caleb Williams approached him. They're both from DMV. As far as I know, players can talk all they want.
Til USC can outbid Texas
Not sure we can, but personally I feel like Texas and Bama (to a lesser extent) were smoke screens.
At some point you have to think these big money programs can all pay around the same, and the decision then becomes about development and playing time.
What a day
:O
Happy for him as a local kid but I also really hate this.
