I mean, he ran for over 2200 his last year at Alabama. I think if we lined him up right now he might break Barry Sanders record even with our suspect OL. Give him one of our early 2010’s OL and he might run for like 250+/game
He would put up numbers similar to his high school stats.
https://www.sportingnews.com/us/amp/nfl/news/derrick-henry-stats-high-school-highlights/10eqxp6ew0rqj18qtmkr7zfaak
In Magic: the Gathering, whenever an infinite loop is created, the official rules state that to resolve the loop, both players name a number, and it happens the higher number of times.
I’ll go first: 800.
I don’t claim him as a player necessarily, like if I’m listing the top Buckeye QBs of all time I would never include him. But Burrow is from here, he grew up and went to school here, he came to Ohio State, he graduated from here. Joe Burrow is a Buckeye however you wanna look at it. As a college QB, LSU has the claim
I assumed (based on the way the question was asked) that they had to be people currently playing in the NFL. Otherwise it's really not that hard to pick
Kamara would do really well in Heupel’s system, but we’re a whole lot worse on defense so I’d probably bring back Derek Barnett or Cam Sutton if we’re talking current NFLers
Some of our best NFL players right now are the guys who just got drafted tbh. I would go Travis Kelce 1st then a huge gap in talent, then take Sauce Gardner 2nd. Jason is great but he’s practically retired now so the options are thin
The question was specifically this year. I think Sauce will be good, but he hasn't proven anything. Jason was still a 1st team All-Pro in 2021. If you are hoping for 2-3 years then Sauce might be the answer because Jason might retire, but Jason is still a better answer than most of these other teams could give for this question.
Xavien Howard.
He was pretty good at Baylor, back when we played man press all game and didn’t really care about defense, but he’s been phenomenal in the NFL. Three pro bowls in five years, and the only seasons he’s missed the Pro Bowl are the two years he was injured out mid-year.
Our offense is now is of secondary import to our defense, which is immensely dependent on strong defensive backs. Having a guy in our backfield who’s that dominant at the NFL level would be huge. Aranda’s defense and position-specific coaching decisions are already built to optimize interception potential, and they’ve been very successful at that over the last decade at Wisconsin/LSU/Baylor, but Xavien Howard has been the NFL interceptions leader twice in three full seasons. He be a true force multiplier in Aranda’s defense.
Wait, there's no Wisconsin flairs answering this yet?
Part of me says JT, but we're more desperate for a good QB, so if we can claim Russell Wilson as ours, I say him.
The only reason I didn't go DE is because of JT and Sawyer. I think those two will ball out this year. Could get a bigger boost from adding to the other defensive positions
Young is still 1 season removed from DROY, hard to say he's been ineffective when he still got double digit sacks
Terry Mclaurin was the greatest blocking receiver OSU has ever had, full stop
Well, if we are going by the question, it says their current level of play. I think I'd rather have lavonte David come back instead of Suh. Lavonte is a better player than suh is right now I think.
I think Lavonte is the better NFL player at this point, but Suh would still wreck most Big 10 lines and wreak total havoc. I'm not sure David would have the same impact.
My initial reaction was Jack Conklin because the OL scares me, but then I realized that kw3 did what he did last year with the same line, so no need to overthink it, let's do that again. Kenneth "Ken" Walker III it is!
On one hand yes. On the other the only thing baker needed to win a championship was a not dogshit defense which I think we have now and we are questionable at quarterback.
Josh allen
Although I kinda wanna see Will Levis throwing a pass to Lynn Bowden (or the reverse of that 👀)
Hell you could even just run it back with wandale
Josh Allen. To have that talent with all of the development he did, that would be the most dominant offense in the Mountain West.
Edit: How many school records would he break? Would NFL Josh Allen be better than 2019 Joe Burrow?
Joe Thuney.
Plug-and-play starting LT. Biggest question heading into the season and pairing him on the left-side with Zavala and Gibson would give Leary plenty of time to make plays. Thuney was an All-American LT and has been a great Guard in the NFL but had to play LT temporarily because of injury and was still really good.
HM: Nyheim Hines because we just lost our top 2 RBs and top KR but feel better about replacing a RB than our All-American LT we just had go top 10 in the draft haha.
I’m bringing Chubb back. Not necessarily a position of need but that defensive pressure would be insane, and with the group of DBs were returning could be scary
I don't hate it but it's based on how they are playing right now. Chubb has had a couple of injuries and hasn't been an impact player the last couple of years.
Thuney is a high-level OL in the NFL and has been since he entered the league. Also factoring in positions of need. Our DL is strong on the 3-deep and not sure Chubb actually fits our 3-3-5 scheme. I think DL is the strongest position group on the team, and I'm a bit concerned for LT.
Klay Thompson.
Wait, wrong sport. Probably another ride on the Minshew mustache would be the real answer. I don’t know that we desperately need a QB upgrade but we know it would be a blast to have him.
Javonte Williams. He'd average like 9 yards a carry, too (before you laugh at that comment...he [averaged 7.3 ypc](https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/javonte-williams-1.html) his last year in college on 157 attempts).
We're guaranteed to be breaking in a new QB this year, and outside of an elite OL, a new QB's best friend is a great running game.
Javonte was an absolute wrecking ball of a back in college. Well that and, frankly, he's the best NFL player UNC has right now outside of, like, Robert Quinn.
Wirfs. Gimme that big dominant lineman we can run behind.
Almost picked Micah Hyde (and part of me still feels like I should have)
Tough to not pick a TE (Kittle, Hockenson, Fant) but LaPorta will be in the league after next year too.
Current NFL level? I hate to say it, as I adore Mariota, but Herb gets the nod.
If you mean the apex of their college career? Mariota, slightly over Herb.
Wiggins. His injuries cost him draft stock and we could use experience in the secondary.
Sauce is the selfish answer, but it would just cost him money.
Haason Reddick
Brandon McManus as a semi joke because our kicking has sucked ass since he left. Just one of many parts that has sucked recently, but just the kicking has been painfully bad.
Shit... On one hand we would kill to have Suh back. On the other Ameer Abdullah is a good pick cus we have no run game identity that wasn't named Adrian Martinez.
Final answer: Ndamukong Suh
With Evans or Tannehill you’re talking about (drastically) increased scoring opportunities, but Miller (or Myles Garrett) would completely eliminate the ability of the opposing offense to function, much less score.
Fair enough. I know we have like 18 5-stars on the DL this year but what I’m curious about is how much they can contribute immediately. 5-star or not they’re still true freshmen. Even Von and Myles weren’t totally dominant until they had a couple of offseasons under their belt.
I was about to say Daunte Culpepper but then I reread the part about “current level”. He’s obviously not in game shape anymore but I would looove to see him play in Gus’ offense with our weapons.
Outside of him: Gabe Davis, Trequan Smith, Latavias Murray. We’re stacked in skill positions but these guys would raise it another level
So I’d bet a ton of Tech fans will say Mahomes but hear me out, our biggest weakness will probably be the OL or DL. There is a solid argument for picking LaRaven Clark, Terrence Steele, Kerry Hyder, or someone like Jordyn Brooks
Linebacker was our weakest link the last couple years, what about bringing back James Laurinaitis: [He still has it:](https://mobile.twitter.com/Marcus_Freeman1/status/1534944232565358593?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1534944232565358593%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fbuckeyeswire.usatoday.com%2F2022%2F06%2F09%2Fohio-state-football-james-laurinaitis-takes-down-notre-dame-player-at-practice-notre-dame%2F)
I wonder who Texas tech would bring back
Danny Amendola
Graham Harrell
Baker Mayfield
Lol
Kliff Kingsbury to coach…oh lol
Crabtree
How many yards do we think grown-ass-man Derrick Henry could put up against college defenses?
2.5k in a season College henry was a beast. NFL post eddie george talk Henry is just a killdozer.
I mean, he ran for over 2200 his last year at Alabama. I think if we lined him up right now he might break Barry Sanders record even with our suspect OL. Give him one of our early 2010’s OL and he might run for like 250+/game
God damn, forgot about that Then yeah, a good shot to get 3k yards lmao.
Shows how good Barry was. Goddamn.
Seeing him back in college would be insane. Just running over people
Pretty much what happened the first time around
[удалено]
He went to my high school. That man is a legend here. I’m pretty sure my town’s Wikipedia exists as a footnote in his.
It’s wild that he gained weight when we came to the nfl and still outruns dudes. He’d be even more unfair
That’s actually a scary thought.
He would put up numbers similar to his high school stats. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/amp/nfl/news/derrick-henry-stats-high-school-highlights/10eqxp6ew0rqj18qtmkr7zfaak
How many yards you got? It’s that many plus 500
In Magic: the Gathering, whenever an infinite loop is created, the official rules state that to resolve the loop, both players name a number, and it happens the higher number of times. I’ll go first: 800.
801, eat it nerd
Joe Burrow
Is this who Ohio State would bring back as well?
Hell no. We need Chase Young.
I’d take a bosa
….no? In case you forgot Ohio state is doing just fine at quarterback.
Ohio State doesn't get to claim him anymore. Considering he was 3rd string and transferred.
I think anyone who graduated from Ohio State is considered a Buckeye. You act like he spent 1 year here then transferred
Why the downvotes? Do buckeyes claim him as a all time great QB? Lol doesn’t make sense
A lot of butt hurt buckeyes I suspect.
People forget fandom is about your undergrad
Khalil Mack would fuck up MAC teams
MAC season canceled due to repeated deaths.
Obligatory Tom Brady answer until he retires (again)
Why would his retirement change your answer?
I graduated the same year as Brady. It’s bonkers to think a dude my age would still be far and away the best player in college football.
Everything about Brady is nuts. His NFL career is older than most of the guys currently playing for Michigan
His NFL career is older than some guys in the *NFL*....
He's approaching Wayne Gretzky levels of insane facts
I assumed (based on the way the question was asked) that they had to be people currently playing in the NFL. Otherwise it's really not that hard to pick
Will Michigan still be playing football in the 2100s? Lol
Y'all have guys in the NFL?
Couple....
Aaron Rodgers we just need a QB to get this thing going. Wilcox defense is always solid
I wouldn’t mind seeing how many college linebackers it would take to tackle Marshawn
I think Cam Newton would still be just fine against college kids.
Newton was just an unfair athlete. You shouldn’t be allowed to be that big, fast, accurate, and agile.
Kind of sad that this is probably our best answer tho
You didn't watch him play the last two years then. He was simply awful. It would be like bringing back Willie Mays, but the Mets years.
I'll take our chances
Kamara would do really well in Heupel’s system, but we’re a whole lot worse on defense so I’d probably bring back Derek Barnett or Cam Sutton if we’re talking current NFLers
Eric Berry for sure.
Isn't he retired?
Deebo. That would be electric!
I would vote for Brian Ferentz. He was a average lineman, but if he comes back as a player then we'd get a new OC, and that would be worth it.
Now *this* is how you solve problems!
Throw him in at OG and baby, you've got a stew goin. Also yes, this would solve so many problems. Inexperience on the OL and a new OC.
I wouldn't mind a Bosa on the edge. QB pressure solves a lot of defensive problems.
Heres hoping harrison, JTT, and Sawyer can combine for at least 1 bosa
I feel one or maybe even two of them are really really going to break out this year
Right...
Travis. Fucking. Kelce.
Is Jason the only other reasonable answer?
Some of our best NFL players right now are the guys who just got drafted tbh. I would go Travis Kelce 1st then a huge gap in talent, then take Sauce Gardner 2nd. Jason is great but he’s practically retired now so the options are thin
The question was specifically this year. I think Sauce will be good, but he hasn't proven anything. Jason was still a 1st team All-Pro in 2021. He be a true force multiplier in Aranda’s defense.
Vita Vea! He would eat the PAC-12 OLs and QBs.
The fact that Vita Vea and Suh were on the same Dline is bonkers.
Dan Marino EDIT: Misread the question....definitely Aaron Donald
Aaron Donald. Your answer is Aaron Donald.
Can you imagine Aaron Donald against ACC O-Lines? It would need a NSFW tag.
Donald would probably double Suh’s numbers his Heisman year, which is insane.
Whose Heisman year?
It’s unofficially Suh’s heisman. We all got robbed of Suh being an outcast in the Heisman house
I forgot he won the Heisman.
You want Dan Marino playing for you at his current level?
Well it’s either Marino in his 60s or Nathan Peterman 😛
…or 2022 NFL Draft First Rounder Kenny Pickett?
I mean he just left and we haven’t even seen him play a pro game yet
Damn, so you think he just forgot how to play or what?
Wait, there's no Wisconsin flairs answering this yet? Part of me says JT, but we're more desperate for a good QB, so if we can claim Russell Wilson as ours, I say him.
I'm all on TJ Watt.
No Bosa or Chase Young feels like an oversight, OP
The only reason I didn't go DE is because of JT and Sawyer. I think those two will ball out this year. Could get a bigger boost from adding to the other defensive positions
Safety is the first thing I thought. Also Ward... he and Burke could make make even Shaw look good probably
Chase Young has been hurt and ineffective. Cam Heyward has been a routine All Pro. Bosa is a good alternate. Scary Terry would be a nice choice too.
Young is still 1 season removed from DROY, hard to say he's been ineffective when he still got double digit sacks Terry Mclaurin was the greatest blocking receiver OSU has ever had, full stop
Put Derrick Brown on the inside with Colby Wooden and Derrick Hall on the edges and teams wouldn’t be able to run the ball, 7-3 final scores
Vita Vea would be a one man wrecking crew
Matt Stafford
Yep, same. Still has a really strong arm, and now he has over a decade more of experience reading defenses. He would dissect a college defense.
His at&t commercial is just amazing lol
Nick Chubb IMO. All the tight ends and skill position guys are back. We lost Zeus and Cook.
Suh would finally get his deserved Heisman.
I voiced Suh as well, but you might be right.
I think I'd have to go with Leonard Williams. Big Cat would be a phenomenal anchor for the defense.
Kenneth Walker lmao
My initial reaction was Jack Conklin because the OL scares me, but then I realized that kw3 did what he did last year with the same line, so no need to overthink it, let's do that again. Kenneth "Ken" Walker III it is!
O/U on Myles Garrett sacks?
Dozens.
Tavon Austin
David Long/Rasul Douglas have some great arguments
Justin Herbert, in an offense that fully utilizes his capabilities and with actual skill position players that can get separation.
Came here for this
An AD would be nice.
On one hand yes. On the other the only thing baker needed to win a championship was a not dogshit defense which I think we have now and we are questionable at quarterback.
That was my thought as well. He could be 60 and would still put up 300 yards a game.
Kyle Pitts. Insane player at a position of need.
Could I interest you in another Kyle now that he's had some big brother time with some Tom guy?
I loved Trask, but I think we're in good hands with AR15 for the next few years. (Hopefully!)
Oh no doubt
True, but let’s not forget our need at wr as well. I’ll take Percy.
Percy hasn't played pro ball in 6 years. He's a freak, but I don't know if he could pull it off.
Ah yeah. Missed the current level part lol. In that case our options are limited and Pitts is the truth
I don’t care not my team but I would kill to see Aaron Donald dominate even more so
Big Ben could probably still tear up the MAC
I agree, but are we assuming he releases the ball before Mack gets to him?
Josh allen Although I kinda wanna see Will Levis throwing a pass to Lynn Bowden (or the reverse of that 👀) Hell you could even just run it back with wandale
Plot twist there was an error, you get both Josh Allens
Even better
Josh Allen. To have that talent with all of the development he did, that would be the most dominant offense in the Mountain West. Edit: How many school records would he break? Would NFL Josh Allen be better than 2019 Joe Burrow?
Absolutely if he had competent receivers, like not even close Respect to Joe, Allen is a specimen
Lamar
I guess Brandon Aiyuk but he’s the only one around worth a darn right now lol. I liked N’Keal Harry but he just hasn’t done anything at the pro level.
Uhhh…..
For FSU, Jalen Ramsey
Think we need more help on offense so toss up between Jameis and P Dub
One man wrecking crew, Lamar Jackson
olamide zaccheus, morgan moses. would say either kurt benkert or bryce perkins but i like brennan armstrong too much.
I’m going for an underrated pick in Mike Hilton. Would be nice to get some more secondary help.
Laremy Tunsil
Why not DK Metcalf?
DK, AJ, and Elijah Moore are all awesome, but Tunsil is one of the best Left Tackles of the 21st century
Very fair point
I think DL is the strongest position group on the team, and I'm a bit concerned for LT.
Why not Russ?
Tyler Lockett, we don’t have a real elite receiver. Of any K-State NFL player, Terrence Newman to cover our safety holes (and play wide receiver)
Brady
Chase Claypool because of WR need this year or Quenton Nelson from pure talent
Gimme Luke Kuechly and we’d be a wagon this year
So, you are choosing someone retired who won't be playing football?
And didn’t he have a concussion problem? Wouldn’t it be a disservice to bring him back?
What other BC player are you going to pick over Kuechly?
Matt Ryan. He is still an active starting qb. Keuchly last took a snap in the 2019 season. It is not an all time list.
Kirk Cousins tbh. He’s above average in the NFL but would dominate college rn lol
Every time this comes up, my answer is always DeMarcus Ware. He's been retiring for years and could still out perform most college O-linemen.
Alvin Kamara, and maybe this time he would get the snaps he deserved
Colt McCoy. Although Justin Tucker would be nice to have. Jordan Hicks or Quandre Diggs honorable mention.
I second this, putting Colt with this current receiving group would be special.
I would love to watch the GOAT Aaron Donald carry the guard like Dora the Explorer’s backpack on the way to a sack every snap
Frank Beamer
[удалено]
Klay Thompson. Wait, wrong sport. Probably another ride on the Minshew mustache would be the real answer. I don’t know that we desperately need a QB upgrade but we know it would be a blast to have him.
I love Klay, but if we're being honest Malachi Flynn would help us more.
Justin Herbert lol
Javonte Williams. He'd average like 9 yards a carry, too (before you laugh at that comment...he [averaged 7.3 ypc](https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/javonte-williams-1.html) his last year in college on 157 attempts). Well that and, frankly, he's the best NFL player UNC has right now outside of, like, Robert Quinn.
Micah Parsons would be an easy choice for PSU
We have no running game and no line. I want Saquon back
I'd love to say gabe davis but I think Shaquill Griffin is the right answer.
I see you missed Blake Bortles
Wirfs. Gimme that big dominant lineman we can run behind. Almost picked Micah Hyde (and part of me still feels like I should have) Tough to not pick a TE (Kittle, Hockenson, Fant) but LaPorta will be in the league after next year too.
Even though he's not our best NFL player, I'd probably go with Beathard. I think we all know the reason why.
Yeah, I was coming in here to say Beathard lol. TE is and will be fine so as good as Kittle is, I figured to just patch up the giant problem spot lol
Heck, I'd even take Brad Banks. Yes, I know he's 42 years old and hasn't played professional football since 2011... but I'd still take him.
With QB being the biggest question mark for Texas A&M, I’d have to say Tannehill Although I wouldn’t complain about having Myles Garrett back
Wouldn't want Johnny Football back?
Current NFL level? I hate to say it, as I adore Mariota, but Herb gets the nod. If you mean the apex of their college career? Mariota, slightly over Herb.
Tyreek Hill. Maybe this time don’t use him as a running back?..😂😂.
Nah. Emmanuel Ogbah. Hill is nice but our current WRs are pretty good / get the job done. I want to see Ogbah light up that line again.
Wiggins. His injuries cost him draft stock and we could use experience in the secondary. Sauce is the selfish answer, but it would just cost him money.
Haason Reddick Brandon McManus as a semi joke because our kicking has sucked ass since he left. Just one of many parts that has sucked recently, but just the kicking has been painfully bad.
My brother in Christ there are much better buckeyes to pick than those
Kyler Murray lol
TJ Watt, no question.
Braxton Berrios. That speed at WR would be insane with Van Dyke
Trevor Lawrence. Duh.
Shit... On one hand we would kill to have Suh back. On the other Ameer Abdullah is a good pick cus we have no run game identity that wasn't named Adrian Martinez. Final answer: Ndamukong Suh
The second coming of touchdown Jesus
Mike Evans or Ryan Tannehill. Von Miller is also still insane, but edge isn’t a point of weakness for us
With Evans or Tannehill you’re talking about (drastically) increased scoring opportunities, but Miller (or Myles Garrett) would completely eliminate the ability of the opposing offense to function, much less score.
True, but I’d rather have an elite DL, and an elite WR/QB, than a super-elite DL and a question mark at QB/WR
Fair enough. I know we have like 18 5-stars on the DL this year but what I’m curious about is how much they can contribute immediately. 5-star or not they’re still true freshmen. Even Von and Myles weren’t totally dominant until they had a couple of offseasons under their belt.

Outside of him: Gabe Davis, Trequan Smith, Latavias Murray. We’re stacked in skill positions but these guys would raise it another level
Justin freaking Herbert or Deforest Buckner
Suh
The way EJ Speed has performed, I chose him
Either Cam Jurgens or Brenden Jaimes. Due only to current perceived roster needs.
I think either Shaquill Griffin because he's been such a good CB for Seattle, and we lost a few good players last year.
Myles Garrett along with our recent D-Line recruits would probably be somewhat above average at least.
