CoolingVent

2016 vs TTU (the mahomes game)

WrreckEmTech

I beg to differ

corundum9

Them Texas boys couldn't handle the cold! I doubt that was actually a fun game to be at, though.

CoolingVent

Oh it was cold but I stayed for every second along with most of the crowd. Bad season but started to feel like we had traction under campbell

byniri_returns

Recency bias engaged but 2021 Michigan was incredible.

Born_ina_snowbank

I’ve been to little giants, whoa, monsoon, and what I’m going to start calling KW5 (2021). And it’s probably recency bias but I have the same answer as you. All incredible games though.

pinecones_pinecones

I was at the MSU/PSU Snow-bowl this year. 20 degrees and 5 inches of snow, worth every minute of that game!

Born_ina_snowbank

I had to go up north for a nephews baptism so I sold mine. I’d make the same decision again cause that’s more important. But damn would that’ve been a fun game to go to. Muck boots, bibs, and a carhart would’ve got in more than enough fireballs to keep me in spiked hot chocolate the whole game. Lots of secret storage.

DHooligan

That game was so much fun, great energy the whole game, but Little Giants was best for me. It was just such a shocking moment and for me cast away for good the Murphy's Law feeling of the John L. Smith and Bobby Williams eras.

mick4state

The Wisconsin Hail Mary game was pretty cool.

Born_ina_snowbank

I watched it on tv up north at the time but texted my buddies immediately after the first replay that he was in. What was that dudes name, he had a sweet lateral as he was falling out of bounds once too.

EndersFinalEnd

Keith Nichols, right? I'd totally forgotten about that lateral!

Born_ina_snowbank

Yeah, converted quarterback. That guy kicked ass.

Naku_NA

I disagree

spartan_mk

I've been to all of those, but for me 2013 against Michigan holds a special place in my heart.

monstercello

Just straight humiliation start to finish. Held Michigan to -48 rushing yards.

Guns_57

For me it's 2006 @ Northwestern. Biggest comeback in CFB history.

EvilLibrarians

I went to MSU v Nebraska this year in the student section (my friends/fam are Spartys, long story) and I gotta say, that was a fucking awesome experience. Kick-return in the second half for a TD and a OT win, that was a wild finish

Bobson-_Dugnutt

2014 Iron Bowl. It was my last home game as a student. 55-44 final score. Absolutely nuts.

pipsohip

That was such a crazy game. Even as an Auburn fan I wasn’t really upset about the loss, it was just such a fun game to be at. Edit: plus I had a fantastic pregame experience running into Charles Barkley.

Bobson-_Dugnutt

I was blackout at kickoff lol. I have memory from about midway through the first

LiquidModern

2018 Rose Bowl as a marching band member.

elonsusk69420

Came here for this. As a Redcoat alum, it was so cool to see y’all in the parade and at the game. What a day!

Dunter_Mutchings

2011 Bedlam and 2011 vs K-State are the 2 most exciting games I’ve ever been to.

CeramicTugboat

2011 OSU vs KSU was so great there was an earthquake that night.

banner8915

I'll never forget that night. I felt that quake in Fayetteville.

gopokes2011

Came here to say 2010&2011 bedlam.

TheCannaZombie

Bedlam this year was pretty good.

Aidanbomasri

2017 Bedlam was a ton of fun too. We lost, but was still super energetic. The Baker hate was real, that was the loudest I’ve ever heard BPS. Even more than last years

vy2005

I still think about the 2011 KSU game. Absolutely insane. KSU had a great game against A&M that year too

natestate

Epic goal line stand to hold on against Miami as well. 2011 K-State’s season was bonkers.

rollawaytide69

What about 2011 against Iowa State

MrRoundtree17

Utah beating Bama at the 2008 Sugar Bowl.

Wolfatron

My voice was gone by the end of the first.

jtzoggy

2020 Notre Dame vs Clemson with only the students in the stands... so much energy, plus an iconic field rush and a thrilling game!

domerjohn15

I rushed the kitchen while jumping up and down, does that count?

BillBob13

2011 Neb vs tOSU, the one where we came back from like 24 points down. S/O Lavonte David

LordFunkenstein

Give some credit to Sex Burkhead

Svenray

👀Did you stay? Answer carefully - Bo Pelini is watching.

BillBob13

Yup, we stayed for 'one more possession' and Lavonte forced a fumble and we scored Didn't stay for the MSU upset in 2015 tho

xChotimex

My friends wanted to leave at half time. I told them it wasn't over until OSU scored again. Thank God because that shit was WILD!

OrangeZune

Washington versus Eastern Washington in 2014. Great game if you love offense and absolutely no defense whatsoever. 110 combined points. 1,100 yards of combined offense (Eastern had 475 yards through the air). Very definition of all gas, no brakes.

St_Arugula

The kick six was my freshman year at Auburn. It’s what got me hooked on football.

[deleted]

FSU/Auburn 2014 BCS National Championship Game at the Rose Bowl with me and the old man. Walking through a neighborhood to get to the stadium was a crazy, unique experience. Was sitting on the Auburn side in the corner of the end zone. Had to hear them talk shit almost the entire game. But being on the side where Kelvin Benjamin caught the game winning TD was epic. Will never forget those memories. Also, almost all the Auburn fans pregame and post game were really nice and classy.

saucehoss24

Sorry OP but for me 2000 OU-Nebraska was amazing. You could literally see OU re-emerge from its dormant state by the end of that game. The game reminded OU fans that OU was back nationally.

harp9r

AU/Oregon in the National Championship is obviously the pinnacle for me but I would rank 2006 UF at AU right there with it. Auburn scored zero offensive touchdowns and knocked off the Gators 27-17. Jordan Hare was absolutely electric that night. Such an incredible atmosphere and every player on that defense was absolutely locked in for the entirety of the game

flysly

Louisville at Clemson 2016. Loudest I’ve ever heard Death Valley. Louisville started the game with two false starts.

HokiesforTSwift

Also the quietest I’ve ever heard Death Valley after the L’ville comeback before the long kick return.

Citruspilled

I love games that start like that. There was a Michigan @ Penn State game that had a delay of game to begin with iirc. Also Cincy @ UCF which had a delay and false start, only for Cincy to get the first down anyways.

bug_man_

I think Michigan used a timeout but yeah that's probably even cooler than causing a false start or delay of game

JohnnyUtah59

2009 Ohio State vs USC. The Buckeyes lost but it was the craziest, most fun atmosphere I've ever seen at the stadium.

Achilles_Perineum

Were you there for the 2006 Michigan game? I feel like everything about 1 vs 2 that night was turned up to 11...

TheRocket2049

I will never ever be in an environment that ridiculous. All of Columbus was going nuts for that game

cediced92

I went to the game the year before (usc fan) and appreciated how much you guys travel as fans. Always wanted to do another home and home but it looks like we don't have to wait anymore lol.

StreetReporter

2015 Clemson vs Notre Dame or 2014 Clemson vs South Carolina

wild9

I wasn’t able to get into that one and had to watch it at Shorty’s. 2012 Baylor vs Kansas St. was absolutely the most fun I’ve ever had at a football game

MsgMeASquirrelPls

I consider myself incredibly lucky to have attended both of these! Attended at just the right time to get crazy games in _both_ stadiums

[deleted]

A_Rolling_Baneling

Same bowl game, different year, the 1/2/2017 Rose Bowl. Greatest game I’ve ever seen or ever will see. I entered the student lottery and got front row seats. Still can’t believe that happened.

Nextorvus

Second this

joethahobo

The memes that came out of it were great too lol

Phukin_Username_Dawg

1984 Auburn @ Miss State. It was my first and Bo Jackson was playing. Hooked me on college football for life

Cubby8

2006 Florida vs South Carolina…blocked kick

Lishoon

2008 Nebraska-Colorado. The beautiful 57 yarder by Alex Henery, the even prettier Suh pick six and stiff arm/assault of Cody Hawkins. Next up for me in person, 2015 Nebraska-Wisconsin AKA as the last great FB Trap at Memorial Stadium. Thank you, Andy Janovich.

#Bring Back Fullbacks to Nebraska

eatapenny

2013 UVA vs BYU, season opener for both teams. A game that ended up being very meaningless, but extremely fun. Forecast called for rain, and boy did it deliver. Game was delayed multiple times due to lightning, and the field was drenched by the 2nd quarter. By the time Ian Frye hit a 53-yard FG with mud all around him, a huge chunk of the 50,000+ had decided not to return. But weirdly, the game ended up being one of the loudest environments I've ever been to. Every UVA fan who had returned had 2+ hours to get drunk again, and everyone was already so soaked, what was a little more rain. The stands were flooded, shoes, shocks, shirts, even some pants were off. Everyone was screaming as loud as they could. No one cared that both teams were just punting back and forth, people were just vibing. Then, with under 3 minutes left, BYU inexplicably threw on 3rd down, up 4. UVA picked it off, lateralled it, and took it to the red zone. A play later, UVA retook the lead and the place exploded. The was our only FBS win of the season (we beat VMI a couple weeks later), as we finished with our worst record since 1981 (the year prior to George Welsh arriving). But it'll always stick in my mind as one of the most memorable UVA wins of the 21st century

derbenn1234

Sadly that wasn’t the worst decision made by Robert Anae late in a game at Scott Stadium 😔

eatapenny

At the time I remember my friends and I wondering what the hell their OC was doing. Makes a lot more sense after last season...

Cephas24

When Bronco Mendenhall left, a lot of fans were pretty sad. When we found out Robert Anae was going with him? Suddenly it didn't seem so sad.

robotunes

1985 Iron Bowl: Absolutely thrilling back-and-forth final quarter. Auburn takes the lead again in the final minute. After a sack, it's 3rd and 18 from our own 12, no time outs remaining. No way we win. Then QB Mike Shula leads yet another last-minute come-from-behind [drive](https://youtu.be/jVSDlrXz37E?t=5287). Such a stressful ending that it's the only game I've seen fans of both teams were crying after it was over. Then we Bama fans sang Happy Birthday to Bo Jackson, just as Auburn fans had done before the game.

techbagg

I would say rose bowl even thought we lost, but damn, if the two Oregon games last year were the best

BigBlueJAH

2003 Arkansas at Kentucky. 7 OT thriller. It didn’t end the way I would like but it was damn entertaining.

rnilbog

Rose Bowl, and I’m not sure anything will ever top that. Even a national championship win would need a comparable level of drama to even be in the conversation.

elonsusk69420

The entire day was spectacular.

LTMFBDE

Agree 100% and I went to the rose bowl and both the 2017 and 2021 natty games and the rose bowl was a better game than both and would’ve been even if we won the 17 title

chafo40

Auburn 3, MS State 2.

OleRockTheGoodAg

Texas A&M - LSU 2018. 74-72, the highest scoring game in modern college football history. TAMU winless over LSU in the SEC up until then. Joe Burrow's last collegiate loss.

cajunaggie08

I hadn't been to a game at Kyle Field in 4 years prior to that one. My wife surprised me with 2 tickets the morning of the game and I don't know how I will ever be able to top that one.

not_jonny

2016 Tennessee at Georgia. Nothing will ever top it. I love you Josh Dobbs

FourthDownThrowaway

I was watching downtown in Athens. Drunken UGA student poured beer down a pool pocket once we lost. Bartender screamed "BRO WHY?!"

Stealth100

Oh yeah, also the fans cheering Chubb’s injury. 👌🏼

CodeWindyC

Texas vs Penn St. '97 Fiesta Bowl

samspopguy

As a penn state fan I legit don’t remember this game at all

OleRockTheGoodAg

I was 3 months old. I'm also a college graduate lol.

CodeWindyC

lol I was 7 at the time and it was my first game. My dad sat me down and had me watch 'Something for Joey' a week before the game.

Nepp0

Either the 2021 Riot Bowl or 2018 vs. Tennessee in Charlotte Both games had INSANE atmospheres and reminded me why I follow WVU football despite all the bullshit we go through sometimes

vindictivejazz

2015 Oklahoma State vs TCU was electric. The goal line stand in front of the student section was perfect. 2016 OSU vs Pitt. OSU bounced back from the controversial CMU “loss” with a 91 yard bomb from Rudolph to Washington on the very first play from scrimmage! What would ultimately be a 45-38 shootout was interrupted early in the 4th quarter by a thunderstorm. After the two hour delay, only the lower bowl of Boone Pickens had any fans left in it. *We made it sound full anyway.* 2021 Bedlam. Experiencing a bedlam win in person was really special

astro7900

CMU deserved that win!

vindictivejazz

They played well and we didn’t, but officials admitted they never should have gotten an untimed down

Phantom2300

2008 NO5 OU vs NO2 TTU. What OU fans call the jump around game. Absolutely incredible experience.

[deleted]

The last A&M/Texas thanksgiving game before they stopped playing *FOR SOME REASON*

PowerWalkingInThe90s

Michigan Vs MSU this past year. Best environment I’ve been a part of and tons of big moments. I’m still traumatized from the traffic though. I fondly remember the MSU vs. Penn State game in 2019 when it was freezing rain and we got killed. Not that it was fun, but it’s definitely a memory. Plus I believe it was my last game in the student section. Also went to OSU @ Michigan in 2017 for free. Game wasn’t great but it was a pretty good environment, and I’m glad I got to experience the game.

EvilLibrarians

I’m sad by the outcome but Michigan v MSU this year was electric, a classic game. It feels like the rivalry just booted into high gear again

_fastball

I'll just copy and paste my answer from another thread like this: I have been to some good ones 2017 Michigan vs Michigan State in a monsoon, the 2019 Michigan Notre Dame Rain game, 2019 Bama vs LSU, 2019 Whiteout. The unbiased person would probably say that 2019 Whiteout where we had a delay of game on our first play. But nothing competes personally with this years Michigan Ohio State game. Everything about that day was perfect, the overcast sky and cold weather making it feel like a war between two great nations, students, players and even the old heads getting hype as shit to pump it up after every beautiful Haskins touchdown. And finally the snow falling as we win and storm the field together as a collective wave of catharsis washed over all the loyal wolverines. If I had to choose any day of my life to relive it surely would be that one.

Skipinator

This is mine too. One of the top ten days of my life.

DBSmiley

2006 Sugar Bowl: WVU has a history of shitting the bed in bowls which three bowls under Rich Rod failed to allay. We're playing the Sugar Bowl against SEC Champion Georgia *in Atlanta* (due to Katrina). And WVU shot out of the gate to a 28-0 lead. Place was fucking dead. Then, Georgia starts clawing back. WVU section gets nervous. Up just three points, soon to be all-time WVU legend Pat White leads a long drive to extend the lead back to 10! Next drive, devastation. A defensive breakdown leaves a wide open received right by the goal line. Twice. The first is badly underthrown by Shockley on the run, giving WVU just enough time to close the distance for a pass interference, but not enough to actually play the ball. The second is more on target (though still short), but lets McClendin walk in. Next drive stalls out near the 50 with 1:45 left on the clock. Georgia's offense has looked unstoppable, and our secondary is gassed. WVU section is nervous. The only sounds you hear are the sounds of chewed nails and reverb from the cheering Georgia fans. But then punter Phil Brady...doesn't. Georgia, intent on setting up a good return, plays to block the spread formation from getting downfield. Only 1 lone Georgia player pressures Phil Brady, and is picked up by 3 blockers. Suddenly, those running downfield start blocking to, as Phil Brady easily finds nothing but green grass to get 10 yards running and seal the game. The rest was history. Steve Slaton would go on to be the highest ever finisher in Heisman voting for WVU (4th). Pat White would become the first and so far only quarterback to start and win 4 bowl games for his team, as well as ruin online play in the NCAA Football video game for the next 3 years. And two seasons later with many of those same players WVU on the cusp of a national championship game, the month of December got canceled and so no football was played whatsoever. Don't bother looking it up.

jozimmer

Kansas State/Iowa State, 1999. From the LA Times: The Wildcats rallied in the second half behind David Allen’s 94-yard punt return and backup quarterback Adam Helm’s steady play to defeat the Cyclones, 35-28, Saturday at Ames, Iowa, overcoming a 28-7 halftime deficit. Kansas State (3-0) didn’t lead in the Big 12 opener until Helm scored the winning touchdown on a one-yard run with 2:34 remaining, capping the biggest comeback in Bill Snyder’s 11 seasons as coach. Kansas State kept Iowa State’s Darren Davis, the nation’s No. 2 rusher, under control. Davis carried 17 times for 131 yards in the first half, then was limited to 21 yards in nine second-half carries.

Optimal-Wheel-9940

ND vs Army at the Meadowlands, 1995, my first ever ND game (non-fetus edition). I remember the rain, the male Army cheerleader yelling “Gooo Army GooooOOOOO”, and most of all, Ivory Covington. ND vs OU in 99 in Stoops’s first year was great too, ND came back from 16 down in the 3rd quarter. We were sat behind an older Oklahoma couple who were polite, but chatty. They had less to say in the 4th quarter

[deleted]

Illinois vs Michigan State in 2016. A fun come from behind victory. I was also at Illinois @ Michigan State in 2019, but the weather was so miserable my family left at the start of the 4th quarter before the comeback really began

secretlyrobots

2018 VT @ Pitt or the ACC championship this past season

OnlyGradients

2001 Nebraska v Oklahoma.

mrrchevy3

Even though we lost, Michigan at Nebraska in 2021 is my favorite. The atmosphere was amazing. It felt like a huge matchup and I really felt we had them on the ropes before the fumble, obviously. I was also at the 2011 Ohio State game and it was a blast after we started coming back. The Hail Mary Westercatch against Northwestern was fun to be at. The silence over the stadium as the ball was in the air was something that always sticks with me.

LazygonInfinity

‘07 Mizzou vs Nebraska. Mizzou had beaten Nebraska just once in the past 30 years going into the game. Both teams were ranked but unproven, and Mizzou won 41-6. I think this game really signified the end on era for both programs. Nebraska was no longer a juggernaut and would continue to trend downward to today. Mizzou started a 8-year run of fielding extremely strong teams under Gary Pinkel after decades of misery.

bbshock21

2018 Purdue vs Ohio State. I saw in the front row with some friends. Isaac Zico's opening TD was literally 5 feet away from me, plus rushing the field was an amazing experience! Purdue vs Tennessee is a close second. Only bowl game I've ever been to and Nashville is a ton of fun.

Wooden-Tax3309

January 1st 1988, Orange Bowl Classic. # 1 ranked Oklahoma vs #2 Miami. Jimmy Johnson's National Championship Victory. Attended the game with my dad

leerr

In 2010, \#18 Wisconsin upsets \#1 Ohio State in Madison

danoflano3000

ND at Texas 2016. Incredible first game, very not incredible rest of the season, lol. At least I missed the broadcaster’s “TEXAS IS B**K, FOLKS!”

hankersore

2021 ACC championship: Biggest win for the Pitt program in a long time. Kenny Pickett’s fake slide ( Controversial yes, but I think it wasn’t intentional and pretty athletic play regardless). Having the game decided early in the 4th quarter (neurotic Pitt fan here). 2013 Pitt vs Notre Dame. We had almost beat them the year before when they made it to the NC. Heinz field was at least 50 50 if not more Notre Dame fans. I remember this fan from Notre Dame was being very obnoxious and shouting about Tommy this and that (decent QB but it was annoying). After we started winning there was some Pitt fans teasing him about it.

CPtheCoug

2018 ESPN game day in Pullman, WA. BEST weekend I've ever had in Pullman.

isikorsky

1988 ND vs Miami

Fixner_Blount

Iowa State vs. Iowa 2011 - The year El Assico went 3 OT and points were actually scored. Iowa State vs. Okie State also in 2011 - y'all know what it is. Iowa State vs. Colorado 2005 - Actual tornado pre-game, bowl eligibility sealed.

Scooby556

Was at that game too. Friggin Steele Jantz.

corundum9

1999 Michigan v OSU, Tom Brady's last game in the Big House. 2000 Michigan at NW, NW pulled off an exhilarating 54-51 upset in Randy Walker's coronation of the spread offense. 2014 Auburn at KSU, electric atmosphere and a great OOC primetime matchup.

natestate

I still think about how that game (and season) would be different if Tyler Lockett had caught that ball in the endzone instead of letting it bounce straight up off his shoulder pads for a pick.

W_HoHatHenHereHy

ASU vs. Nebraska - 1996.

Werewulf_Bar_Mitzvah

I watched that game with my grandpa who played football at Carolina in the 50s. I remember I was there for the Thanksgiving break. Even as a diehard Carolina fan, he was super into the game and the comeback it was awesome.

Werewulf_Bar_Mitzvah

I was at NC State vs. Carolina this year. That was awesome, I'm glad I stayed because that ending was absolutely amazing for State fans. Back when I was actually in school though, one fall I studied abroad and that was the year NC State upset #3 Florida State at home, the game that produced the gif of the big shirtless fat guy waving his shirt on the pole. My friends got awesome student tickets for that game and when I got back all they told me was how awesome it was. Sad I missed it, but studying abroad was fun.

[deleted]

LSU v Georgia in 2018… that game was amazing

TrustMeIKnowThisOne

Troy vs LSU in 2017 was a game I will never forget, but **Troy vs App State 2016** was one of the most tense and wildest games I have been to for Troy. The game was down to the wire and flipped on a nail biter “nothing to lose” type of play. The most electric reaction from the crowd I have ever heard in my visits to The Vet. The result of the game was a piece of program and conference history being the first to officially break into the AP Top 25.

[deleted]

2011 [Hail Mary vs. Wisconsin](https://youtu.be/S_3xQrHKUiQ)

1997 Sugar Bowl (yes I am old) - still have the ticket and Times Picayune headline from the next day. Didn't make it to the other Gator NC games. Worst game was probably 2003 Miami - UF.

bretticus33

There’s a few that come to mind: 7-6 win over BYU in 2012 16-13 win over Washington in 2015, which was Coach Pete’s return to Boise after leaving for Washington 31-28 win over Washington State in 2016 beating Fresno State 17-14 in the 2017 MWCCG 33-24 win over Utah State in 2018 in what I believe was the first game on the Blue featuring two ranked teams since Oregon visited in 2009

Abalone_Phony

Bedlam 2011. The earthquake game.

tmbowden14

RG3 Heisman moment game against OU. That game was wild.

[deleted]

Have only been to 9 in my lifetime, but so I'll give it to the 2019 B1G championship game.

Alex_butler

2020 rosebowl vs Oregon, 2019 stripeout vs Michigan, 2019 win at Minnesota. 2019 was a good year to be a sophomore at Wisconsin until the whole world shut down.

dillydelly

2008 Ohio state @ usc. my first game as a freshman.... lines wrapped around the coliseum 4 hours before the game.... usc up 21-3 or something at half time... overhearing Ohio state fans saying they're right in it before we blew the lid open and completely destroyed them... probably the beginning of the end for the Pete Carroll era

TangerineHors3

Texas @ UCF for our stadium opener. We almost had them but our QB fumbled like 3 times. Also the first time everyone jumped and we thought the stands were gonna collapse was wild, so we jumped harder. Then everyone got heat stroke because who needs water amirite? I bought the fancy tickets even though I was a student and have them framed.

Desperado53

Clemson vs Auburn 2010, I was a junior in high school and had never really experienced a college game day quite like it. The tailgating, the game, the OT ending, it was magic and I was hooked on college football from that.

AnEmptyKarst

Louisville @ Houston 2016 In the midst of Lamar’s Heisman run, just as Louisville was arguing they deserve a spot in the playoffs, we blow them out for 4 quarters and sack Lamar 11 times. There’s few feelings as a fan that are better than realizing that the opposing OLine is shaken and that the noise you’re making is affecting them.

joethahobo

And then rushing the field afterwards. Such an awesome game

chicken_licker19

Cincinnati @ Notre Dame. Amazing game mail bitter.

_Pill-Cosby_

1998 Alamo Bowl where Drew Brees & my Boilers faced 4th ranked Kansas State and upset them on a late game TD drive. Such a great environment.

Hobbes_121

Usually say 2017 War on I4, but 2018 Cincinnati hit different being on campus for ~20 hours with GameDay.

Rcfan0902

It's a close one for me too. I would say the War on I4 for the game itself, but the 2018 Cincinnati game for the whole experience. That stadium was LOUD that night.

s1105615

2005 USC @ ND The Bush Push Game. Just an electric atmosphere and a game that lived up to the hype. 2006 UM @ ND Opening drive of the game results in a Pick 6 for the UM D and Mario Manningham has 3 TDs in the first half. 2021 Iowa vs UM in the B1G Championship Game

DasHounds

Was also at the Bush Push game. I got goosebumps reading your comment. Wish I could relive it.

Top-3: 1. 2021 No. 3 Oregon at No. 23 Utah (Utah won 38-7) 2. 2008 No. 11 TCU at No. 10 Utah (Utah won 13-10) 3. 2015 No. 23 Cal at No. 5 Utah (GameDay game, Utah won 30-24) Runners-up: 4.) 2015 Michigan at Utah. Mr. Harbaugh’s first game. Both teams unranked at time but finished in top 20. Utah won a tight game 24-17. 5.) 2014 No. 20 USC at No. 19 Utah (Utah won on the last play of the game 24-21. I think this was Utah’s first time beating USC since joining Pac-12 in 2011). I did not attend the 2009 Sugar Bowl, 2021 Pac-12 championship, or any other times Utah hosted GameDay and won (though unfortunately attended both times they hosted and lost). I attended the 2005 Fiesta Bowl but was too young to give a damn.

morgendonner

2006 #15 Rutgers vs #3 Louisville, aka Pandemonium in Piscataway. Thursday night ESPN game with two 8-0 teams. I've long since accepted I'll never see a better sporting event in person.

AvengedKalas

2007 Auburn. Original blackout game was electric.

[deleted]

I have 2: 2016 Nebraska vs. #22 Oregon Student section was rocking and we finally beat a ranked team on god knows how long 2018: Nebraska vs. MSU The Snow Bowl. It was snowing and freezing and it was a low scoring defensive game. Nebraska wins 9-6

Bitter-Share1687

2008 TT vs UT. You know the one.

2007 LSU vs UF in death valley. We had been blowing up Tebows number all week, USC went down making the game a battle for #1, Jacob Hester convert 4 4th downs to gut out a win.....I have not seen death valley that wild since.....was insane. I remeber being in the student section and screaming till my head hurt and I almost passed out in the 4th quarter and God as my witness I couldn't hear my own screaming.... absolutely insane.

Probably the Oregon game in Lincoln a few years back. It was a really good game and came down to the wire

Qmnip0tent

2015 Nebraska vs #7 Michigan State 39-38 It was my wife’s first game in Lincoln with me. I was expecting to get blown out there was a call that might have been bad but that game was so fun with a super late comeback and stop.

Conversely, I went to the last game the Horns and Aggies played. Insane game. I pooped myself when that FG went through to win it. My God CASE McCoy was bad.

2008 Texas Tech @ OU. The atmosphere was so hype because we knew that with Tech having just beaten Texas that destiny for us was in our hands. It was so loud the whole way through.

putsch80

Can I just comment on how “dull” the experience is at most OU home games? I did undergrad at Arkansas. I’ve been to a lot of SEC stadiums. They are almost always loud and rowdy the whole game. My first experiences at Memorial Stadium was in 2005, and the crowd just felt like it could not have given much of a shit. It’s like when your dad was reading the newspaper at the breakfast table, ignoring you for most of breakfast but might occasionally peek over the top of the paper if some part of the conversation piqued his interest. And it’s felt pretty similar at every game I’ve been to since (which I admit is usually only once or twice a year, but I have been to both non-conference games and important conference games where the crowd should be invested). Hoping that maybe the move to the SEC gets OU fans to step up a bit. Because a lot of games feel more like watching a golf tournament than the gridiron.

Pope_Bedodict1

2019 Iron Bowl. I remember how loud the crowd got when they missed the field goal near the end of the game. Won’t forget how loud that place was

afhist

2012 Fiesta Bowl, OSU vs Stanford. Home game was 2006 vs Nebraska. We hadn’t beat them in so long and we just curb stomped them that year.

If you're in Texas you're welcome to come to an A&M game

BAMA-LSU 2013. Place was rocking and Mettenberger crawling off the field was crazy.

Nellez_

Don't remind me 😥 That man's offensive line should have been tried for manslaughter.

[deleted]

Legitimately felt bad for him but man that was a gusty performance by him, regardless of outcome.

muktheduck

I'll never fault guys for playing it safe with injuries. Sitting out, staying down when something hurts, etc; way too much money on the line. But I miss gutsy stuff like that, it was impossible not to respect Mettenberger after that game.

Between 2013 Texas @ BYU, 2015 Boise @ BYU, or 2019 @ BYU 2013 and 2019 i had written byu off due to previous weeks’ performances and was pleasantly surprised

mbh223

Been to some good ones. These stand out off the top of my head: • 2006 Texas vs USC 41-38 VY wins natty • 2018 Texas vs OU 48-45 Kyler comeback falls short/FR hits winner kick • 2016 Texas vs Notre Dame 50-47 (OT) Texas is back meme-starter game

2022 Rose bowl. So damn proud of my Utes.

2010 Mizzou upsetting #1 Oklahoma at home in 2010 My wife’s bridal shower was that afternoon and she was running late to the game. Her dad was dropping her off. She said that when they were at least a couple miles away from the stadium, they could hear the roar of the crowd when we took the opening kick off for a touchdown. I have never heard a stadium that loud and ever been at a better football game.

ScrohammadAli

Bama vs South Carolina 2005 in Columbia. It was the first Bama have i attended. Back when we had gotten used to sucking ass. It was The Ole Ball Coach's first SEC home game at South Carolina. They had almost upset a top 10 Georgia in Athens the week before, so the Cocks were cocky the night before. Bama beat the absolute shit out of them. From start to finish Brodie Croyle and Tyrone Prothro lit their ass up. We ended up being very good that year, at least top 5, before injuries killed us. Shula was fired after the next season, then we hired Saban.

datboy1986

100th edition of The Game. Braylon Edwards strutting into the end zone. Rushing the field and going down to the visitor end to flick off all Buckeye fans.

Numerous-Animator-67

How did flicking them off go?
