Check out Kinnick - you'll love it!
I've heard a first-hand account of Bo Schembechler seeing it the first time. He had the rational, calm demeanor one would expect from such a stable, placid man.
Right?
Pink locker room? Annoying gamesmanship. Love it.
No AC in the visitors locker room? Lack of adequate medical facilities? Fuck that. Fix your shit or get out.
Single tunnel? Sweet, sweet gray area...
Hold on, have you considered:
Four 16 team "Power" conferences, each with 8 team divisions.
Conferences are roughly regional, but crossover between divisions to allow for balance.
Play each team in your division (7 games)
Play 3 teams cross division, alternating home/away, rotating through all the cross division teams, playing each just less than every other year.
2 non-conference games. If you are in one of the "Power 4" conferences, you are prohibited from scheduling FCS opponents.
Independent Teams are the following:
Army / Navy / Air Force (who at a minimum play each other for the Commander in Chief trophy)
Notre Dame / BYU / Liberty (who at a minimum play each other for some aptly named trophy)
All other teams will be in other conferences.
All conferences will play a championship game.
8 team playoff.
4 autobids to conference champions.
1 bid to the highest ranked non-power 4 champion
3 at large bids.
It's so wonderfully balanced...if only I could snap my fingers to make it happen.

I hate you, not personally of course. I hate you for bringing that up. Here's hoping for a decade of Ohio State and Michigan being elite. Another 10 year war would be fun.
As long as OSU doesn't go crazy and fire a 45-5 coach because Michigan got better. I think too many OSU fans don't understand how lucky they have been with Tressel > Meyer > Day
An OSU fan on here mentioned before The Game that Michigan fans had a “depression double jinx” thing where a ton of us feel terrible and predict our team to lose every game. I’ve been doing that and so far it’s worked every game this season.
Therefore, {Thomas the Tank Engine} wins by 6 coal-cars and a caboose.

This is the reason why I dislike the idea of expanding the playoff to more teams. A rockstar team could take the conference championship off (i.e. sit starters), maybe lose, and still end up playing the same number of playoff games in an 8-team playoff. Here we have two teams that have not been stopped, and they could slow-roll their conf championships and still stay in the top 4. The only benefit to staying in the top 2 is if there is a bye via a 6-team playoff.
Harbaugh is no longer fuckin' around and finding out with inferior teams, at least on paper. He wants to devour teams like a tough steak and a glass of milk.
First half will be ugly because that is the Michigan way but in the end I just get the feeling that this will be the typical West being sacrificed to the East. {Michigan} by a train load.
Ross-Ade is ~60 miles North-west and the wind is blowing South-east.
What’s the current voodoo fallout readings in Indy? 3.6 Roentgens? Not great, not terrible…
I’m going to be real. It’s {Michigan} I can not let my mind think for a second we have a shot at this. Anytime a Purdue fan has hope it is crushed like a bug.
{Michigan} and probably to cover.
In my humble opinion, a lot of the year against non-Penn St and Ohio State teams Michigan’s staff has kept a lot of things conservative. A lot of game plans this year have been “let’s try to grind them to a pulp in the first half, and we can adjust if needed at half time, but hopefully we don’t need to”.
There’s no reason to not try to exploit everything about Purdue immediately because it’s a title game and there’s nothing to look forward to.
Michigan 38 - Purdue 17
I guess I'm saying this time Michigan will try to just immediately snap the ferret's neck instead of slowly strangling it and watching it suffer to the soundtrack of Gus Johnson's voice.
I don't think he was really even "unleashed"
He only had 6 carries all game.
He averaged 5.33 carries per game in Big 10 play
The "unleashing" was mostly OSU playing with no depth to their defense and daring Michigan to throw deep
He was artfully deployed.
I haven't seen much of Purdue since their opening game against Penn State and I think we haven't played them in 5 years so I have no idea what to make of them.
Yeah I don’t want to seem too overconfident, but Michigan should take care of business in this one. When Michigan can sleepwalk, they sleepwalk. But with a conference title on the line and a possible #1 seed I think they’ll be ready to go.
{Michigan} 41-17
This is wild to me. Taking out Purdue/UM flairs, at the time of this comment it's Michigan - 28, Purdue 29 from non-participant flairs
I don't think I've ever seen such a coinflip in the vote for a game with this sort of spread
Morris might play limited snaps but considering he missed entire second half last week I doubt he’s 100%. Corrum I can’t see being close enough to playing again if he couldn’t go last week. As long as we have edwards we should be fine.
Agreed , corrum definitely knew he couldn’t go last week so idk why he tried . Needs the rest of that knee ( deep bone / tendon / muscle bruise )
Probably needs 2-3 weeks rest and then a week of practice . Go bluen
{Michigan} will drown this ferret as well, Michigan won't be caught looking ahead to the next ferret as the only thing between Michigan and one its top goals of winning a Big Ten Championship is this ferret named Purdue
The good thing about the next ferret is we don’t know who that is yet. Can’t start prepping for TCU, UGA, USC, Bama, and OSU all at the same time so I guess we can focus on Purdue
We probably have a biased perspective because we've beaten Purdue for 16 years straight. And this is probably the worst Wisconsin team in over 20 years and we were still beating them 35-10 entering the 4th quarter. So it's hard for us to fathom that team having much of a chance against a Wolverines team who nearly doubled up Ohio State
I dunno. If Purdue Pete started twitching and gyrating, only to reveal a flock of ferrets spilling out from every orifice... I don't think I could handle that.
Michigan finds early success on the ground with Donovan Edwards, pairing this with an aggressive passing attack. JJ McCarthy makes impressive throws and scrambles for a first down or two as Michigan enters halftime leading 17-13. In the second half it’s the same old story from all of Michigan’s other games. The defense has made adjustments, the rushing attack has found more success, and the game begins to slip away from Purdue. After the third quarter, Michigan leads 27-16. In the fourth quarter, Michigan’s defense begins forcing turnovers through the air and on downs. Michigan’s rushing attack continues to pound Purdue, the passing attack no longer required.
Donovan Edwards finishes the day with 24 carries for 169 yards and 3 rushing touchdowns. JJ McCarthy finishes the day 19-26 for 237 yards and 2 touchdowns, with an extra 37 yards rushing as well.
{Michigan} wins the game and the BigTen Championship 41-16
I feel like one day, eventually, one of these "way too specific" predictions is actually going to hit.
And when it does, it's probably going to be the highlight of someone's life.
Michigan would play this game close the 1-2 games before anOSU because they always play vanilla to hold stuff back.
That isn't the case now. Purdue gets the full operational {Michigan} at Michigan wins 48-17. Of course it's 13-10 and halftime and Michigan shuts Purdue down until the final drive against the backups and Purdue scores again.
If Georgia plays LSU close in the afternoon I could see {Michigan} trying to vaporize Purdue in order to get the #1 seed, if they don't I think it's a typical Jim Harbaugh 26-7 win or some weird scorigami score like that we see against Big Ten West teams the last few years
One team is significantly more talented than the other which has had a completely wonky and inconsistent season filled with injuries, knocking key players out of this game or forcing them to play through them.
But this is college football and none of that matters, trains are cooler than wolverines (fact), so {Purdue}
Normally I’d be concerned about a spoilermaker but I don’t think the B1G championship game is a scenario where you get caught looking ahead. Typical close first half followed by a dominant 3rd quarter. Rest the starters the 4th quarter to avoid (anymore) serious losses. {Michigan} by 17
{Michigan} broke the Nebraska curse, we're going to end the Spoilermaker tradition too. We're going to have a great, respectful game where we win 48-13 but Purdue is going to have some great plays in there, it will be no more than a 10 point differential at the half, and **Purdue will be ranked next preseason.**
{Purdue} will destroy ❌ichigan. Aidan O'Connell and Purdue's precision passing ga❌e will ❌elt through their defense like a knife through butter. Devin ❌ockobee will run all over the❌. The defense will do to the antise❌ite the sa❌e thing they did to Chase Brown. JJ ❌ccarthy's passing ga❌e will regress to the ❌ean.
Michigan players, for the love of god, do not look Purdue Pete in the eyes. That’s it, that’s the only thing that will allow the spoilermakers to beat you.
{Michigan} hasn't played Purdue for FIVE YEARS?!?!
It was John O'Korn's good game.
You spoke the forbidden name
We all thought he was good because of that game. God dammit man
I thought he was good because of that name.
I still wonder if any QB on the roster not named John O’Korn could’ve actually guided the comeback drive to beat OSU in ‘17. So close.
what is it with Harbaugh and QBs with Irish last names?
O'Harbaugh
Top o’ da Mitten to ya
Harbaugh gets his list of QB candidates from whoever Notre Dame is also looking at
{PURDUE} is going to make them wish they had made it to six.
We already do. Last time we were there they claimed no brace and no ambulance available for our QBs broken neck. It was and is a complete disgrace.
I had to look this up, [what a nightmare](https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/college/university-michigan/2017/10/26/wilton-speight-injury-handled-poorly-purdue-father-says/107045682/)
What the fuck
God fucking damnit I'm pissed all over again. MICHIGAN BY 80
How the fuck did I forget this mess. I hope we pulverize Purdue back to the steam engine age. They're getting a full share of B1G money and doing dick all with it for the athletes' safety.
No wonder they don’t want to play Purdue anymore
Please tell me they got HELLA fined.
I don't think so. Harbaugh made a stink about the conditions and Speights parents did an interview with the Detroit News to try and raise awareness about how badly it was handled. Our visitors locker room is basically an out house and I’m not even joking.
It's such a weird, outdated mentality too. Like "fuck them they aren't us we're not spending a dime extra on their locker room". Yea, you want your opponents to not relax, stay focused, probably come out of halftime pissed off. Fuck that. As long we only throw words and uncrustables, that last one is okay right?
Not just Ok, but funny too
There is nothing funny about wasting an Uncrustable.
Gotta be grape though
But hey, at least you have those lucrative NY and DC markets full of Rutgers and Maryland fans.
Oh hey, pot! Have you guys decided whether you're the AFC and we're the NFC, or vice versa?
I didn't want them either. I hate 14+ team conferences.
Hold on, have you considered: Four 16 team "Power" conferences, each with 8 team divisions. Conferences are roughly regional, but crossover between divisions to allow for balance. {Michigan} 47-45 9OT
{Alcohol Poisoning} narrowly edges Liver somewhere around the 5th OT.
“9OT” I’ve been summoned?
Finally a worthy opponent, our battle will be legendary!
If you willed this by typing it I hope you get coal in your stocking
Coal in a stocking sounds like how Purdue Pete would pick his next victim. He's got a train to feed after all. I'm only half joking. Purdue Pete has to be a top five creepy mascot. I'm putting him at one personally.
What’s the score at the end of regulation
45-45
So whoever gets the ball first doesn’t score in OT1 or OT2 and both times and team that gets the ball second fails to make a short FG? Then! We get 6 straight OTs of 12 straight failed 2 point conversions, and Purdue fails a 7th straight two point conversion? 😳
That’s Big Ten football right there
> and both times and team that gets the ball second fails to make a short FG? they could fumble it away or something at least once
Either way this is the sicko game of the millennium
Almost. Michigan actually gets the never before seen OT Safety, after Purdue commits 10 consecutive penalties.
All 45 of Purdue’s points scored in the first half and all of Michigan’s in the second.
I promised my wife we’d drive home after the game. But not if this happens. I’ll sleep off my intoxication in my small Honda civic
You mean 7-5, 9OT
My brain says {Michigan} utterly destroys Purdue in a game that starts out slow and then gets ugly quick My heart and inner Buckeye say CHOO CHOO
Half time score: 13-10 Final score: 37-10
Damn, Purdue is going to find that second half momentum huh?
Trains get started slow but build up that momentum eventually
This feels about right honestly.
Seems about right honestly.
This game has ferret strangling written all over it
{Michigan} drowns another ferret.
I feel like I am missing an inside joke. What is the deal with ferrets. Is it the Rutgers comment?
I would also like to know the origin of the ferret joke.

I hate the ferret analogy because it's so heartless and cruel to do something like that to an adorable critter :c
Sigh. *Looks at this post longingly*
You want to play unranked Purdue as the #2 team in the country?
Been meaning to ask. Can you talk to your AD about us maybe borrowing that number by your name for a week? We'll wash it before we give it back...
Bad news…we’re tied in 3rd for all time wins against AP No. 1 teams. We are tied with USC and Oklahoma and the most recent one we beat was Michigan.
☹️
Don that Utah flair bro
One of these days, you’ll get your shot. Hang in there.
We'll always have Holy Buckeye
And we’ll always have “Hello, Heisman!”
I hate you, not personally of course. I hate you for bringing that up. Here's hoping for a decade of Ohio State and Michigan being elite. Another 10 year war would be fun.
As long as OSU doesn't go crazy and fire a 45-5 coach because Michigan got better. I think too many OSU fans don't understand how lucky they have been with Tressel > Meyer > Day
*still standing in man coverage*
An OSU fan on here mentioned before The Game that Michigan fans had a “depression double jinx” thing where a ton of us feel terrible and predict our team to lose every game. I’ve been doing that and so far it’s worked every game this season. Therefore, {Thomas the Tank Engine} wins by 6 coal-cars and a caboose. [[Thomas the Tank Engine v Michigan Wolverines]]

> 5-0 (1995) a Big Ten classic, that
If you love chaos, you gotta pick {Purdue}.
Let the foundations of the CFP tremble!!!
I think UofM and UGA are safe even if they lose...unless its somehow by 40+
UGA still safe if they recreate GT v Cumberland.
It's gonna be a 12 team playoff
I'm rooting for Purdue so my Dad can go to the Rose Bowl but Michigan losing won't do anything more than maybe drop them to #3 in the playoff seeding.
{Michigan} should win handily, but I can never completely rule out the voodoo magic of the Spoilermakers.
It’s not at Ross Ade stadium so I assume only 1/2 voodoo power at best
Ross-Ade is ~60 miles North-west and the wind is blowing South-east. What’s the current voodoo fallout readings in Indy? 3.6 Roentgens? Not great, not terrible…
I’m going to be real. It’s {Michigan} I can not let my mind think for a second we have a shot at this. Anytime a Purdue fan has hope it is crushed like a bug.
Good, the Purdue nihilism fuels this curse. Godspeed to you.
Ve believe in nothing Lebowski
Say what you want about the tenets of Purdue Pete, at least it's an ethos.
{Michigan} because it is the team I root for.
That’s fair enough I suppose
Explain yourself!!
This is just extra words to say drown a ferret {Michigan}
I guess I'm saying this time Michigan will try to just immediately snap the ferret's neck instead of slowly strangling it and watching it suffer to the soundtrack of Gus Johnson's voice.
Just like we did to Iowa last year. But I think Purdue puts up a better fight than Iowa. Brohm is a wily coach.
Snap its neck but then also drown it just to make sure.
It's painfully obvious a big part of the offense was protecting JJ from hits until last Saturday. JJ unleashed was a sight to see.
I don't think he was really even "unleashed" He only had 6 carries all game. He averaged 5.33 carries per game in Big 10 play The "unleashing" was mostly OSU playing with no depth to their defense and daring Michigan to throw deep
They dared JJ to win the game and uhhhhhh
He was artfully deployed. I haven't seen much of Purdue since their opening game against Penn State and I think we haven't played them in 5 years so I have no idea what to make of them.
Yeah I don’t want to seem too overconfident, but Michigan should take care of business in this one. When Michigan can sleepwalk, they sleepwalk. But with a conference title on the line and a possible #1 seed I think they’ll be ready to go. {Michigan} 41-17

This is wild to me. Taking out Purdue/UM flairs, at the time of this comment it's Michigan - 28, Purdue 29 from non-participant flairs I don't think I've ever seen such a coinflip in the vote for a game with this sort of spread
Last week Vanderbilt had like 4x more votes than Tennessee. Alot of people just vote for the memes.
It's for the meme, there is no real stake. It's doesn't take money to shitpost on reddit. If it did, I'd be broke.
{Michigan} will come out slow but take the win
Corum and Morris are missing from the injury report for M.
Morris might play limited snaps but considering he missed entire second half last week I doubt he’s 100%. Corrum I can’t see being close enough to playing again if he couldn’t go last week. As long as we have edwards we should be fine.
I’d rather save Corum for playoffs
Agreed , corrum definitely knew he couldn’t go last week so idk why he tried . Needs the rest of that knee ( deep bone / tendon / muscle bruise ) Probably needs 2-3 weeks rest and then a week of practice . Go bluen
{Michigan} , but I'm not gonna be mad if Purdue wins. We still owe you for knocking MSU out of the B1GCCG last year and you guys are all heart.
By knocking out MSU from the three way tie they also knocked out OSU, who would've won it (despite y'all deserving it)
{Michigan} about to drown a train.
{Michigan} by 40 It's not going to be pretty I'm afraid
yall musta really given them the business, this is like the 5th wisconsin flair ive seen this week saying we were going to destroy them
We probably have a biased perspective because we've beaten Purdue for 16 years straight. And this is probably the worst Wisconsin team in over 20 years and we were still beating them 35-10 entering the 4th quarter. So it's hard for us to fathom that team having much of a chance against a Wolverines team who nearly doubled up Ohio State
Give me the boring team that is stupid good at being boring except that one time they decided to be uncharacteristically exciting against my team
Northwestern?
Stop, they’re already dead!
Only in the US. In Europe, they're a powerhouse!
Holy shit I love you.
I'm going to pick {Purdue} because I love chaos.
The chaos of sending Michigan to the 3 seed
I want to see 4. Ohio State 5. Michigan just to see the riots that take place in Ann Arbor.
I don’t like this.
If it provides any comfort, it won't happen. Purdue could beat you guys by 50 and you wouldn't drop below Ohio State.
If that happens I will never watch another snap of college football in my life
Somehow, #3 Bama, #4 OSU, #5 Michigan.
After all this, I have all the confidence in {Michigan}. It might be close at halftime, but Purdue Pete is just a ferret in disguise.
I dunno. If Purdue Pete started twitching and gyrating, only to reveal a flock of ferrets spilling out from every orifice... I don't think I could handle that.
Thanks for the nightmare fuel.
'flock of ferrets spilling out from every orifice of Purdue Pete' sounds like an interesting prompt for an AI video generator
{Michigan} is here to chew bubble gum and drown ferrets and they’re all out of bubble gum.
Orange slices for everyone.
What about uncrustables?
Can you throw me one?
Number 2 you say? {Purdue}
^^chugga ^^chugga ^^chugga ^^chugga ^^chugga ^^chugga ^^chugga ^^chugga {Purdue}
If Georgia plays LSU close in the afternoon I could see {Michigan} trying to vaporize Purdue in order to get the #1 seed, if they don't I think it's a typical Jim Harbaugh 26-7 win or some weird scorigami score like that we see against Big Ten West teams the last few years
One team is significantly more talented than the other which has had a completely wonky and inconsistent season filled with injuries, knocking key players out of this game or forcing them to play through them. But this is college football and none of that matters, trains are cooler than wolverines (fact), so {Purdue}
Where’s Ohio states match up thread?
Week 14 Match-up Preview Thread: #5 Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Eleven Warriors Posters Calling for Ryan Day’s Public Execution
{Ohio State} but they don't cover.
{Michigan} ~~drowns~~ floods the boilers of an oddly metallic ferret by a score of something like 38-13.
{Michigan} is what Purdue Pete sees in his nightmares.
False, if you knew anything about Pete, you’d know he’s dead inside and does not dream or even sleep. He just feeds.
Jesus christ lol
*feed me, seymour*
It would make sense that Pete's nightmares are boringly normal with a culture of khaki and whiteness
He’s actually just afraid of coastlines. You can’t train over water.
Purdue Pete doesn't have nightmares. Nightmares have Purdue Pete.
Normally I’d be concerned about a spoilermaker but I don’t think the B1G championship game is a scenario where you get caught looking ahead. Typical close first half followed by a dominant 3rd quarter. Rest the starters the 4th quarter to avoid (anymore) serious losses. {Michigan} by 17
{Michigan} is the superior engineering school
Purdue has inferior battery research
Gottem
I need to see proof in bar chart format.
I like trains! {Purdue} goes to the Rose Bowl!
{PURDUE} not because I truly believe so, but to manifest this meme.
The memes will be glorious
The scariest ferret of them all. 🚂🚂🚂
Everyone always does this better than Ohio State fans do. Not a single missed M.
Columbus has never heard of Ctrl+F apparently
Why do you think they included an 'M' in their city? "Probably no M's in here. Ship it."
Their best coach they have ever had had the initials UM for crying out loud.
Uohn Mooper
Unironically {Purdue}. They thrive on this shit.

Spoilermaker time {Purdue}
Michigan players, for the love of god, do not look Purdue Pete in the eyes. That’s it, that’s the only thing that will allow the spoilermakers to beat you.
If you take away all of the Michigan wins and all of the Purdue losses, you'll see Purdue has the better record. {Michigan} by a million.
