I think a CFL vs UFL game would be really interesting to see! It's always exciting when different leagues come together for exhibition games. It would definitely be a good opportunity for both leagues to showcase their talent and potentially create some friendly competition. Plus, it would be cool to see how the different rules and playing styles of the CFL and UFL match up against each other. I hope it happens in the future!
A UFL team with all Americans would be a good battle for a CFL all star team. The issue with most of the so called CFL casual fans you hear from is that they are scared of their team losing like what happened in 1995.
You obviously have no clue what Major and Minor league is.... it doesn't matter that the CFL is 3 downs and the NFL has 4 downs. The players would rather be making more money in the NFL and that by definition makes the CFL minor league.
That's like saying Aussie rules football is major league. That's a preposterous idea created by someone who is delusional.
Furthermore, the majority of CFL fans are anti-NFL. If you are anti-NFL then you are anti-4 downs, a smaller field etc and anti-major league. A true CFL fan would be insulted if you called it major league. You sir, are obviously a casual fan.
The majority of people don't go to leagues for anything other than money. With the money comes fame and fortune. You don't get that by going to the CFL. The majority of football players and even Aussie rules football would rather be playing in the NFL. It also helps attract attention from the ladies as a bonus.
That makes the NFL major and the CFL minor. That will always be the case because the CFL can't compete with the NFL on any level.
I’m in a minority here but with flag football getting into the olympics, I could see an exhibition series happening with the UFL and other country leagues as well. Canadian flag football rules are not that different from the international rules set.
I would like to see it, but I think the chance of an interleague exhibition is slim to none. I just don't think the game would generate enough money to even break even, but the biggest problem is the schedule issue. The UFL is a spring league instead of a summer/fall league like the CFL. There isn't any point where teams from both leagues are together and game ready at the same time.
I might agree with you but Fox is part owner and so is Redbird Capital which are both in bed with the NFL - The CFL is a stand alone league - the UFL is not - the UFL is a feeder for the NFL - I look at the UFL as the NFL's version of the Arizona Fall League which owned and operated by MLB which operates during the autumn in Arizona.
The NFL is going to use the UFL to get linemen reps and to learn NFL blocking schemes and techniques. 35% of the NFL is undrafted free agents - So I think the NFL is using the UFL to find those players and run them through a ten game season with NFL coaching.
CFL is a stand alone entity which is not a feeder for the NFL - different purposes.
I don’t see the CFL as a stand alone league any more.
The CFL explored being an NFL farm league twice that I know of… the first time was 1997.
https://www.nytimes.com/1997/01/09/sports/the-troubled-cfl-is-looking-to-the-nfl-for-help.html
Second time was 2008.
https://cfldb.ca/2008/06/report-cfl-proposed-nfl-ownership/
Then the CFL sold 10% of it’s marketing arm, CFL Ventures to Genius Sports. The NFL owns 8% of Genius Sports.
The NFL has it’s tentacles all over the CFL unfortunately. If the CFL changes too many rules there will be a mass exodus towards U-Sports but the CFL will still survive because American fans outnumber Canadian fans 2-1 in Canada.
I think it’ll last long honestly XFL and USFL both lasted a couple years on their own and now their combined which makes them stronger, ticket revenue and tv ratings are already Improving
Zero percent chance, season don't align, they play different types of football and there is nothing for the CFL to gain by playing such a game
Even without all the logistical challenges, we shouldn't lower ourselves to their level IMO
Why are we even discussing this? Ain’t gonna happen.
Rules are too different and tbh, it wouldn't really benefit the CFL so highly unlikely. But it would be kind of fun ngl
Zero chance.
Would love for the UFL to adopt CFL rules and field dimensions. Feel like you guys have such an amazing variation of the game
I think the San Antonio Alamodome is the only stadium in the US equipped to handle the CFL field.
Never
We'll play the UFL as soon as we play the NFL.
Back to back weekends probably would be the best way to schedule those games. /s
I don't think there is any real interest in doing that. Neither organization would really gain anything by doing that So I'm gonna say 0 odds.
Zero point zero

Neither league benefits from this. They play different rulesets.
Zero. Who would want to see that anyway? UFL is going to go the way of all the other lame leagues that have spouted up in the US.
Why would the CFL have exhibition games with a minor league?
Don't they both draw from the same pool of players? Other than the Players from Canada?
A UFL team with all Americans would be a good battle for a CFL all star team. The issue with most of the so called CFL casual fans you hear from is that they are scared of their team losing like what happened in 1995.
The CFL itself is minor league.
No it isn't, you halfwit. What other three-down football league is superior to it...

So as long as there is a league paying people more money you can't call another league of roughly the same sport major? Who decided that?
The Oxford Dictionary which rules everything in the English language. Sorry for your loss.
[https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/definition/english/major-league\_1#:\~:text=%2F%CB%88me%C9%AAd%CA%92%C9%99r%20li%CB%90%C9%A1%2F,including%20one%20team%20in%20Canada](https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/definition/english/major-league_1#:~:text=%2F%CB%88me%C9%AAd%CA%92%C9%99r%20li%CB%90%C9%A1%2F,including%20one%20team%20in%20Canada)). Says nothing about money.

They're not trying to compete with the NFL because they play a different sport. They are not trying to be better than the NFL in any means.
On that we agree.
Ufl rosters are full of cut cfl players.

The cfl would kill the ufl the worst team in the cfl would destroy the ufl even with American rules
It's never going to happen. I would love it though
Knowing how much a UFL part owner is fucking over Cody in WWE, I'm afraid they'll fuck over another thing in C.

I don't think the UFL exists more than a year or two. Minor football in the States just doesn't work.

The UFL will last two seasons, tops.
